SOUNDFRONT Waves. NEWLY RENOVATED KITCHEN & DEN AREA! Island views and kiteboarding action is what you will enjoy seeing from the decks of this soundfront home. Even the HOT TUB on the second level porch has a view of the action. Located in the 'The Slick' of Waves prime kiteboarding heaven, boarding and windsurfing enthusiasts will find convenient access directly from the pier sound access. Entering the first level of the home you will find a queen bedroom with a semi-private bath and easy access from the pool area. The second level has three more bedrooms including two queen masters and one bedroom with 2 single beds all with their own TV. The kitchen/living room/great room level was especially nice; from that level we could see the ocean on one side and Pamlico Sound on the opposite side. The neighborhood was quiet and the Waves area is less crowded than Nags Head, which we appreciated. Waves has great waves on the ocean, by the way. - "Located on a private street with vacant lots on either side, this is a quiet spot. Beach is just 2 blocks away, and you can see the ocean between neighboring houses from upper decks. Nice polywood outdoor furniture as opposed to the usual cheap plastic stuff. Pack a basketball and enjoy a driveway pick up game! Inside, bedroom and bathroom set up allows for down time and privacy. Bar, dining area, and sofa seating accommodate a large group. Other great touches for multiple families include 2 outdoor showers, 2 washer/dryers, 2 full refrigerators, 2 dishwashers, and double place settings/flatware. Since I'm in the kitchen cooking a lot, I also loved the surround sound speakers. Beautiful evening views from the upper deck, but also walking distance to Watermen's and a 5 minute drive to Salvo Day Use area - two of our favorite spots for enjoying sunset. If stairs are an issue for anyone in your group. this property may not be ideal (there are lots of them). Otherwise, Wave Safari is a great choice for your next vacation!!"

- "We were impressed with the cleanliness of the home after reading some reviews. The home was in a great location, easy checkin/out process. If you have children I would recommend using the drive on beach or parking at Rodanthe Peir. Will use Surf or Sound again next year!" - "The property was perfect for our large family vacation. The cottage has three bedrooms, and will comfortably sleep 8 people. The master bedroom has a king size bed with on suite bathroom. The second bedroom has a queen bed. The third bedroom has a queen bed and a bunk bed with two twin beds (note that only children should sleep on the top bunk). The queen and bunk rooms share a full bathroom.

Outside: Enjoy lunch or dinner breathing in the salt air! There is a new large gas grill available for guest use under the house, and a large wood picnic table. Afterwards, challenge your friends and family to a game of Cornhole or go for a bike ride for ice cream (right down the street!). Four Adirondack chairs surround a wood burning fire pit in the side yard, perfect for relaxing at home after a long day at the beach.

Notes on Salvo/Location: The house is a block away from Waves market, which has a killer breakfast burrito and has a ton of food + pantry items, toiletries, etc. The closest large grocery store is in Avon about 16-20 minutes away, which is where we shopped for big grocery items/meat/seafood etc. We had amazing coffee at Beans & Beads, loved Lisa's Pizzeria, & Neptune's Bar. The house sits just off the main road, and is about a 10-13 minute walk to the beach (it feels fast because it is a straight-shoot down the street). We brought our own beach chairs and umbrella, but it was really nice the house provided extra chairs, beach toys, and a well-functioning cart (necessary to transport everything!). We used the grill a couple times--it was great. The ignition doesn't work on the grill, but we used the long lighter provided by the house to ignite the flames (easy!). The kitchen is huge and has really good storage and is fairly well-stocked. The air conditioning was great--important for the beach! The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were spacious and clean. We loved drinking our coffee on the porch. Christina is a fabulous host--she gave us great recommendations and was incredibly responsive and attentive. Highly recommend!!"

- "We arrived to find the house not thoroughly cleaned from previous guests. Fridge had jelly smudges on it and trash was found in master bedroom. The front door hinges were completely rusted out not allowing us to use the door. Smoke detectors were inoperable and hanging from the ceilings. Bedrooms were dated and beds very worn and uncomfortable. Master bathroom shower had no hot water. Called realty group with no response. Coackroach found on bedroom floor. Heinous smell in other bathrooms. Only pros to this property is that it's oceanfront and pet friendly. Book at your own risk. Happy to provide pictures of above account."
