The walk from our door to the sand was literally no more than two minutes. The elevator is a plus and there were carts available for easy move in and move out. The property is quiet, well maintained and clean. All communication with the property and reservation management was seamless, they were available for any questions and responded within minutes. The location was perfect for us as we don’t like to be in the middle of a lot action but we were within minutes of restaurants and stores. This was our first time in the OBX but it won’t be the last. Welcome to The Beach Place at Hatteras High!

Here you will have DIRECT ocean front views from the rear balcony and distant sound views from the front porch.

There is NO ELEVATOR, so you will need to be able to navigate 2 flights of stairs. There is a LUGGAGE LIFT located between the two stairwells (This amenity is not guaranteed. If you cannot carry your luggage up two flights of stairs, please do not reserve this condo).

There are two bedrooms, each with a QUEEN bed. There are two bathrooms, each with a tub/shower combo. One bedroom has an ocean view, sliding glass doors to the balcony, an ensuite bath, and a smart tv.

NO BED SHEETS OR BATH TOWELS are provided. You can bring these with you or rent from a local company. Pillows, blankets, and bedspreads are provided. The complex offers 3 free washers and 3 free dryers.

There is a QUEEN size pullout sofa in the living room. There is also has a smart tv with a dvd player. You can choose to turn on the fireplace just for the ambiance or you can set it to have additional warmth to the room.

The Kitchen includes dishes, utensils, pots, pans, cutting boards, a KEURIG and a DRIP coffee pot, wine bottle opener, mixer, crock pot, and can opener. A few starter items such as dish soap, toilet paper, and paper towels will be provided. Usually (but not guaranteed) there are coffee filters, potholders, dish towels, sponges, dishwashing pods, laundry pods, and salt and pepper on hand.

The POOL is open from mid-May until mid-October (Please confirm opening and closing dates with me). Resort amenities include picnic tables, charcoal grills, outdoor showers, and a fish cleaning station.

Please bring your beach towels. Beach chairs are provided. This is a seven-day Saturday to Saturday only rental in the summer season.

Please note that pictures might not be an accurate depiction of how the beach will be during your visit as storms and tides impact the structure of the beach daily. VRBO incorrectly advertises the walk as 9 minutes to the beach. The building and the condo are direct ocean front.

This is a NON-SMOKING and NO PETS allowed unit and facility. There is an RV park next door.

There are no refunds or rescheduling. Hatteras is an island subject to wind, rain, road flooding, beach erosion, and power outages, so please protect your vacation with TRIP INSURANCE. Make sure the insurance allows you to cancel for any reason and that it covers both trip cancellation and trip interruption.

If you love the sound of the ocean, and the feel of sand between your toes, and seeing both gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, you will love Sea Glass!

When you arrive in our private community, you will find ample parking and an elevator to take you and your luggage upstairs to our condo. We think you will be very comfortable in our remodeled condo. In the master bedroom there is a new king size bed with a private bathroom featuring a walk in shower and a queen size bed in the second bedroom with a second bathroom. Each bedroom has its own television.

Our kitchen is fully equipped with appliances and utensils where you can make your favorite meals. We have two coffee makers, a traditional and Keurig. We have a one-of -a -kind dining room table that seats four, plus seating for two at the bar.

We provide a washer and dryer in the unit. To make your vacation more enjoyable, we provide all of your bedding and bath linens. We do not make up the bed, but all of your clean sheets are there for you. That way you know your sheets are clean and fresh for you. All we ask is that you wash them and throw them in the dryer before you leave. We also provide a starter bag with toilet paper, dish and laundry soap, and a few other items to get you started on the right track. On the front deck we also provide some basic beach gear such as chairs, boogie board, and sand toys for the kids.

Our deck has fantastic views of the ocean and pool area. Coffee does taste better in the morning with an ocean view.What makes our deck unique is the lanai style, where you can still enjoy the views even if it's raining. The south-facing deck is perfect in the summer, breezy and cool....a perfect place for relaxing with a beverage with your fellow vacationers.

Walk to the ocean in seconds via our walkway to the beach, or take a 5 minute stroll to the Pamlico sound across the street. Our condo complex has great amenities, including a pool, fish cleaning station, private outdoor showers and additional parking for boats and jet skis.

We are always upgrading the condo. We have added a new king size bed in the master, new dressers and televisions in each bedroom, new living room furniture, new patio furniture on both decks, new washer and dryer, dishware, pots and pans and new decor.

Whether you are seeking an adventurous or relaxing vacation, Rodanthe has it all! The island has the best surfing, kite boarding, stand-up paddling, and windsurfing on the east coast! For folks who enjoy fishing, Rodanthe pier is within walking distance, you can surf fish off of the beach, or even book a deep-sea fishing adventure with various anglers on the island. If you are thinking more about general lollygagging (Relax. You're on vacation!), this is also the best place ever - take long walks, enjoy the sounds of the ocean from the private deck, or relax by the pool.

RENTAL POLICY: From June through August we rent Saturday to Saturday only. Other than that, there is a 3 night minimum for the remainder of the year.
CHECK IN AND OUT TIMES: Check in is at 3pm and check out is 9am.

REFUND POLICY: We know that things can happen. You can purchase trip insurance through VRBO that provides reimbursement if you can't make your trip. Our personal policy is that If you cancel your trip at least 60 days before your vacation, you will get a full refund minus the VRBO administration fees. If you give us 30 to 60 days notice, you get 50%, less than 30 days notice, there is no refund unless we can rent the condo out for that time period. If we do, you will also get a full refund minus the VRBO administration fees. For your piece of mind, trip insurance is an inexpensive option.

Located in Rodanthe, NC, on the Outer Banks, in the Hatteras High Condominiums.

Wonderful ocean vistas from the kitchen/living room, master bedroom, or the private covered outdoor rear deck . The Kitchen has all new (2024) cabinets along with Granite countertops. The flooring has been completely updated (2024) and replaced as well. It has a Well-supplied Kitchen with Microwave, Ice Maker, Coffee Maker, Blender, all the comforts of home. All new range, refrigerator, and microwave in 2021. New 55" 4K TV in living room, plus a TV in the Master Bedroom. A sectional sofa with a queen-sized sofa bed is in the living room. The Master Bedroom has a Casper King bed. The second bedroom has two twin beds. The sliding glass doors have been replaced with new doors with wonderfully clear glass to view the surf. Both Bathrooms have been renovated in 2022. The pool, which is open from the mid of May through the second week of October, is just in front of this unit, making it easy to watch the children and family. On a private drive, but located near shopping, eateries and the fishing pier. It offers all the amenities wanted in a holiday unit. A full kitchen, an open dining/living room, Internet, and all the other comforts of home! The private covered rear deck has four Adirondack high chairs, offering a great spot to relax and watch the waves. Other niceties include outdoor showers, picnic tables, charcoal grilles, fish cleaning station, walkway over the dunes to a pretty beach. There is even a nature trail and pond!

Free Hi Speed WI-FI ! This has been upgraded to high speed cable modems in 2023.

Our Roku TV boxes give free access to a wide selection of Spectrum Cable Channels, and also allows you to login to your own personal streaming TV providers, such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Paramount, Disney, etc.

Coffee? Is that an important part of your morning? We provide a K-Cup coffee maker, a French Press, a regular Mr. Coffee machine, and a grinder. No matter how you like your coffee, we have the right machine for it. Please be sure to bring your cup or blend of choice.

This condo is located centrally in the building, right by the luggage lift and the central staircase. There is no elevator at Hatteras High. We do have a luggage lift to bring all your stuff up.

The Master Bedroom has a Casper King bed, installed in 2019. This incredibly comfortable bed was top rated by Consumer Reports.

Rodanthe is surrounded by the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. It is considered by many to be a premier vacation destination with its incredible recreational options. Known for its Fishing, Kayaking, Windsurfing, Surfing, Surf-Fishing or Deep-Sea fishing, it also offers one of the quieter beach destinations, as Rodanthe is a much smaller town than the area around the northern beaches. The beach is just a short walk away down a private boardwalk, about a 2-3 minute walk at most. For the very little ones, we love the Salvo Day use area just south of town. It is on the sound side and offers shallow water (1-2 feet) with no waves.

There is a boardwalk to the pool and over the dune to the beach. We are within walking distance to shops, restaurants and the Rodanthe Pier.

TVs: All TVs are serviced with Roku devices that provide free access to Spectrum Cable. In addition, pretty much all major streaming services are supported for use with your own streaming accounts.

POOL - For 2025, the pool should be open from May 17 through October 6. Please do not take any glass containers to the pool. There is no lifeguard. Please watch your children closely.

NO SMOKING - This is a no smoking unit and property, which includes the decks. If the unit smells of smoke after your stay, you will be assessed a minimum charge of $250 for deodorizing.

LINENS and TOWELS: Please note that linens (sheets and towels) are NOT provided with this rental. We do provide blankets, pillows, and comforters. RENTAL POLICY: From Mid-May 15 through late August we rent Saturday to Saturday only. Other than that, there is a 3 night minimum for the remainder of the year. Our Condominium Bylaws do not allow Dogs and we do not allow any other pets. Minimum Primary Renter Age is 23.

ID and RENTAL AGREEMENT: We require that you e-sign our rental agreement and also that you provide a clear and legible copy of your drivers license or government issued picture ID with your current address. Failure to provide this within 48 hours of your reservation may be considered as your cancellation of your reservation and possible loss of your payment, based on our refund policy. The rental agreement is available on this site for your review prior to reserving your time.

REFUND POLICY: We know that things can happen. You can purchase trip insurance that provides reimbursement if you can't make your trip. Our refund policy is 97% if cancellation is received before 60 days out, and 50% if received more than 30-59 days out. The 97% is because the credit card company does not refund the credit card fee. It is not uncommon to have a mandatory evacuation from the coastal areas during Hurricane Season and it seems to happen at least once every few years. You will not receive any reimbursement unless you have purchased travel insurance, which is available during initial booking. In the event of a hurricane, please bring the outdoor furniture into the living room, close and lock all doors and windows, then depart ASAP. If you will need housing, call and make reservations at another hotel out of the evacuation area immediately, before or while leaving, because all regional hotels fill rapidly during evacuations. Under no circumstances may you stay in the unit during a mandatory evacuation.

COVID-19
Our cleaning service has significantly upped their game in response to the current crisis. In addition, we have added a UV light disinfection system to our HVAC unit to kill airborn covid-19 or other viruses and bacteria. Check in time is 4PM. A notice will be placed on the kitchen counter when the cleaning is complete, and if so, you may enter as soon as 3PM.

- "The condo was nice and well maintained. It was in a great location with an incredible view of the ocean, just a short walk over the dunes to the beach. We liked the area as it was not crowded. There was an RV Park next door but it was well maintained and the visitors there were quiet. The lock gave us a little trouble but our host answered his phone immediately and straightened out the problem. I wasn’t a fan of having to rent or bring your own linens or having the laundry room down the flight of stairs. Thank goodness for the luggage lift. This particular unit was up three flights of stairs. I am suffering with back problems at the moment and it was a chore to go up and down them. In the end it actually strengthened my muscles having to do that. Who knew? Everyone in the area is extremely nice. They all seemed to love working at their jobs and eager to help. We would like to go back next year and would stay in the same place"

There is a boardwalk to the pool and over the dune to the beach. We are within walking distance to shops, restaurants and the Rodanthe Pier.

Enhanced Cleaning and Safety Measures

In response to the current crisis, our cleaning service has significantly enhanced its protocols to ensure your safety. Additionally, we have installed a UV light disinfection system in our HVAC unit to help eliminate airborne COVID-19, as well as other viruses and bacteria.

To allow our team ample time for thorough cleaning, our standard check-in time is 4:00 PM. However, if cleaning is completed earlier, a notice will be placed on the door, and you may enter as soon as 2:00 PM.

POOL - For 2025, the pool should be open from May 17 through October 6. Please do not take any glass containers to the pool. There is no lifeguard. Please watch your children closely.

But since we were doing other things it was always a drive. The weather was hard a couple days, windy and cold. But again that had nothing to do with the property itself. That was awesome. Oceanfront condo community this is the end unit condo with pool, grill and hot outdoor showers. This unit is on the top floor and has a view of the pool and ocean. Direct beach access via elevator and boardwalk. Saturday check in and check out only Memorial Day through Labor Day. 2 bedroom condo offers a king bed master with private bathroom and a guest room with a queen bed plus a twin bed with direct access to the second bathroom. An open balcony off the living room and master over looks pool and has a great view of the ocean. Sheets are provided, bring your beach and bath towels. Washer and dryer are in the condo. Resort Rodanthe has plenty of room for drying your water sports equipment, a fish cleaning station, outdoor hot showers, and a large parking area.
Resort Rodanthe condo association does not allow guests to bring pets. No smoking allowed in condo or on balcony.

Happy Hours is a sound side, pet friendly beach cottage conveniently located next to Hatteras Jacks tackle shop in Rodanthe, NC on Hatteras Island. In this 2 bedroom 1 ½ bathroom home relax & enjoy amazingly beautiful sunsets over the sound. With just a short walk to the beach enjoy swimming, surfing, surf fishing, & much more! Conveniently located near the walk/bike path, shopping, restaurants & the Rodanthe Pier.

When you first arrive at Happy Hours you will walk onto the large, gated wrap around deck which has access to the screened in porch.

Upon entering the cottage, you will find yourself in the large open living area with stairs on the left that will lead you to the bedrooms & full bathroom with shower/tub. Bath towels are provided!

The well-stocked, open concept kitchen is divided from the living area only by an island with bar like seating. Conveniently off of the kitchen there is a ½ bathroom & access to the screened in porch.

You will find a full laundry room with washer & dryer located off of the screened in porch.

Both bedrooms are located on the second level, each offer a queen size bed with small balconies.

Happy Hours is a great central location no matter what you are here to enjoy, be it water sports, shopping, or simply taking it easy!

- "My family and I had a great week at Megan’s house. The location was perfectly located for us. On the bike path, near CHNS beaches and the quaint shops and recreational activities on the sound & ocean in the tri-village area. The house is very nicely decorated. We enjoyed the backyard bbq grill and fire pit. The back lounge/ covered porch with the hammock was nice to hang out in too. Sunsets on the top deck were gorgeous!! I would recommend maybe a table or simple dining area in the front of the house bc it was cooler there with that late afternoon sun still blazing in the rear of the house. Overall, highly recommend Megan’s house in Rodanthe for a great OBX experience!! PS love the Friday to Friday rental- thanks again, Megan!!"
