At first we were unsure as the property is older and although well-maintained, not as flashy as some other places on the island. However, we quickly fell in love with the place - so much so that we're already planning to return next summer. The property we got was a 2 bedroom that could sleep 6 (7 if someone wanted to take the extra large sofa). There was a full kitchen, stocked with all the utensils, drink and dinnerware you'd need to feed a large group. The bathrooms were big and the entire place was spotless. The location was also very convenient. It's down a little ways into Kitty Hawk and close to things like Walmart and Harris Teeter, but still far enough away to the main strip to feel a little less crowded. Check-in was easy and there were lots of amenities. My husband and I really enjoyed playing pool and shuffleboard in the game room. We were also able to get a few rounds of mini golf in that is located on site. Overall this was a fantastic experience and we highly recommend this place for a one-of-a-kind trip to OBX."

The floor/tiles in one bathroom were loose, in the other bathroom the floor felt "squishy" and there were multiple broken/cracked shelves in the shower. Two of the burners on the stove did not work and when using the stove/oven there was smoke. The window when opened to alleviate the smoke would not stay open. This property allows pets and unfortunately their cleaning and repairs do not keep up with previous occupants that have brought pets. On my last day of my stay, i moved a floor fan, only to discover dried dog feces behind the fan. Definitely not an experience i would have expected from this "app"."

- "This was our first time at this particular establishment, and we loved it! I am very partial to the "old-fashioned" motor courts, so I take into consideration that they are not shiny and new on the outside, but the renovations inside are beautiful and our 2-bedroom was very roomy. We had a balcony with an ocean view and it was so nice to be able to sit outside and the beach access is right across the street. There is a restaurant right next door, which is super convenient. I needed to reach out to Amanda a few times (general questions, nothing urgent) and she was quick to respond, helpful, and very friendly. I also met Pam who helps out and she was also super friendly! *The only thing I will note is that since it is right on the beach road, it can be a little noisy. Obviously, this has nothing to do with the cottage management, but is worth mentioning. This only affected me when I wanted to sit outside on the balcony and relax. It was not noticed while inside.* To sum up my review, I loved the whole vibe of the place and we WILL be returning!"

The Woods Rd where the home is located, offers easy access to both ends of Kitty Hawk Beach, but also offers easy access to all other areas within the Outer Banks. The pedestrian multi-use path runs in front of the private driveway offering an easy walk to a unique covered bridge or a great place for riding bikes or a morning run. Wake up to the sounds of nature and have coffee on the large deck overlooking the preserve, or enjoy a cozy morning in with an abundance of natural light. The town house style offers 12 foot high ceilings throughout the second level offering a cozy but spacious feel. A full kitchen, french doors opening to a beautiful full length deck, as well as a full laundry and outdoor shower on ground level round out the second floor. Granite and custom tile throughout offer a touch of elegance, while offering everything you need to feel completely at home. Perfect for resting after spending a day at the beach and in the sun! Linens and towels are provided and waiting for your stay. Located in the sought after Southern Shores community, you will be provided a pass for all the community amenities. This pass will provide you access to a private beach access, a sound park for beautiful sunsets, access to the marina- so bring your boat! Plus other amenities. We are also less then a 2 mile drive to the Kitty Hawk Beach access. There is a fire pit on site for relaxing evenings by the fire.

Enjoy more than just the beach in this bright and airy 1 bedroom 1 bathroom efficiency with porch and fenced yard, located in a quiet, centrally located neighborhood. It's just one block from the bay/sound, and an easy walk or bike to the beach!

The interior space has queen bed, dresser, desk, flat screen smart tv with cable AND roku (with netflix, discovery app, etc), coffee maker, microwave and mini fridge. New linens, comforters and towels at the beginning of every season. The bathroom is nautically themed, with walk-in tile shower and granite countertop vanity. Walk out onto the porch for coffee or a cocktail, to hear the birds & smell the salt air. There's a small ocean peek from the porch.

The fenced yard makes it easy to bring your fur baby! Just relax and enjoy the beach or the bay, you'll be able to go see sunrises over the ocean, and sunsets over the sound.

It's a short walk to the beach, with a pedestrian-friendly stoplight crosswalk. Or, it's about a 30 second drive to one of the many public beach access, all with free parking.

The bedroom, bathroom and covered porch are private to you. There is a shared entrance area to walk through (shared with the owner) to get to the stairs that lead to the private porch and the private room/bathroom. The porch overlooks a fully fenced yard that is shared with the owner and her dogs. (I minimize the time my dogs spend in the yard while guests are there. It's usually just a few minutes in the morning and in the evening. I arrange the time I let them out to avoid contact with guest dogs.)

The neighborhood has a soundfront bike path that spans for miles along the water, which is a great place to walk, bike or jog, and this area is known for it's amazing sunsets. All you have to do is walk down the street and explore. You can even follow the path all the way to the Wright Brothers Monument. There's a breakfast place one block away, 2 coffee shops within 2 blocks and more shops and restaurants all within a short walk.

I live above the unit, so I'm happy to give recommendations for restaurants, activities, or help with anything you may need. While I do my best to be as quiet as I can, you may hear footsteps and the dogs barking from time to time.

PLEASE NOTE THE HOUSE RULES BEFORE BOOKING. There is 1 dog allowed with no pet fee. If you'd like to bring a 2nd dog, please request it, and based on age/breed/size, I might allow it. If so, there will be a pet fee.

There is only one queen bed in the room and not enough space on either side of the bed for additional sleeping space, so the max guests is limited to 2.

All of our neighbors look out for one another. A few of them are short term rentals hosts as well so you are surrounded by a great group of locals and it is extremely safe.

PLEASE NOTE: this apartment is not ocean front but has ocean views. It is located on one of the tallest parts of the island. The home is extremely close to the ocean just minutes away to a public beach access with free parking :) We do recommend driving vs walking so you don't have to carry the beach gear we provide across a busier summer road. The ocean is just a few blocks away. There are two Airbnb apartments below yours that are completely separate.

If you love biking, kayaking, surfing or just love nature this is the spot for you! A flight of stairs leads you to a private deck and entrance to an airy and spacious suite with everything you need to rest up for your daily adventures here on the beautiful Outer Banks. Byrd street beach access in Kitty Hawk is less than a ten minute drive with plenty of parking. All shopping and dining options are within a short bike ride or drive. This one level ,no stairs condo ( one step to enter home) is attractively decorated with coastal décor. It has a open floor plan- light and airy with a comfortable living room with upgraded queen sleeper sofa-We have added boards for the sleeper sofa/bed, to increase the comfort for our guests- they are located underneath the sofa cushions- Please use the boards going from top to bottom- It is not intended to cover the entire mattress but to cover the metal bars ,flat screen smart tv-streaming using your account( this is for all the tv's) or enjoy free options ***** No Cable

- "We had an amazing family time in Kitty Hawk. Place was very clean, enough space for a family of four. Good location, nice pool area. Our small cottage is located in the perfect spot for seeing what all this area has to offer. This new construction is about 500 sq ft of spacious living space with a hot tub and patio overlooking the wetlands area behind the property. It is private and cozy; a great place to spend a honeymoon, anniversary, or maybe just to get away and reset. A short bike ride to see the sunset, a short drive to many public beach accesses, a short walk to Kitty Hawk Reserve where you can hike through the Maritime forest. Best of all, the star gazing from the hot tub is on point.
We provide linens, towels, basic toiletries, coffee & tea, bikes, and beach chairs. We also have a book with some information on the area.
We are local and readily available if there is anything you might need during your stay.
During the winter when the leaves fall, you can see the neighboring house a little better than usual but the house still feels very private overall.

How far is the beach?
The beach is just a few blocks away from the house so it is definitely within walking distance, however, we always recommend driving as you do have to cross one busier street. There are several free parking beach accesses within a 2 minute drive. Also, we provide 2 beach chairs, 1 cooler, and an umbrella so it is a bit easier to take everything to the beach via car!

Is There A Grill?
Unfortunately No. The Outer Banks can often times be windy and each year many people on the beach lose their homes due to grill related house fires. For this reason and safety reasons we do not have a grill at our home. :(

Do you have a tea pot?
Unfortunately No :/ But the Keurig can brew a cup of hot water for you to steep tea in!....

We invite you to your home away from home this season. Our lovely apartment is located in a quite neighborhood set away from the main roads with tons of privacy while still having the luxury of being just a short walk to both the ocean and sound. The apartment is +/- 750 Sq.Ft and offers a master sized bedroom with a king sized bed, a full bathroom, an open floor plan living room with beautiful sectional and 65 inch TV that offers Netflix, a full eat in kitchen, outdoor shower, and a private roof top deck with seating! This deck also has ocean views (please note that we are not ocean front but not far at all!).

How far is the beach?
The beach is just a few blocks from the house so it is definitely within walking distance, however, we always recommend driving as you do have to cross one busier street especially in the summer. There are several free parking beach accesses within a two minute drive. Also, we provide two beach chairs and one beach umbrella so it is a bit easier to take everything to the beach via car!

Is There A Grill?
Unfortunately no. The Outer Banks can often times be windy and each year many people on the beach lose their homes due to grill related house fires. For this reason and safety reasons we do not have a grill at our home. :(

Unfortunately it does not we are so sorry for any inconvenience but we have to keep in disconnected to do the potential fire hazard it can cause.

This location does not have a washer/dryer but there is a cleaner just minutes away. We recommend dropping off clothes and picking them up at the cleaners for convince.

Are there any restaurants within walking distance?
Trio Wine Bar is within walking distance of our home. It offers delicious food, excellent wine, beer, and cheese selection, and live music nightly! There are also many OBX well known restaurants within a five minute drive from the home including: Barefoot Bernies, Black Pelican, and Hurricane Mos.

Do you have a tea pot?
Unfortunately No :/ But the Keurig can brew a cup of hot water for you to steep tea in!

This apartment is one of two in the same building. It is completely private to you and you will have your own private entrance on the top floor, and private roof top deck.

We are available to text, email or call throughout the day with any issues or questions. We will communicate detailed description on how to get into the space and where to park after booking.

The neighborhood is extremely quiet. All lots are around 15k - 20k sq.ft. so you have very nice spacing between homes. Its extremely cozy and you will love all of the natural lighting you get in the home.

All the basics are available a taxi, car, bike and even Uber.

Two of the only oceanfront restaurants/bars and local hot spots, Black Pelican and Hurricane Moe’s, are walkable from Carolina Captain’s Quarters. Clean and cozy space, all you need to do is bring your bathing suit and change of clothes, everything else for the beach is furnished. Not only enjoy the beach, but enjoy the clubhouse with pool, hot tub, ping pong, pool table, weight room, video games, tennis, pickle ball, racketball courts (hosts have rackets, tennis balls/racketballs).
The space
This space is a separate guest suite on the ground floor of our townhome in Sea Dunes, a wonderful complex. Sea Dunes is known for its great amenities. It is like being at a resort. Clean, quiet, newly painted and decorated and the best part, about a 30-45 seconds walk to the beach! The suite does not have an oven or stove, but a well equipped kitchenette with microwave, refrigerator, toaster oven, keurig, sandwich maker, crock pot, blender, Instapot, hot air popper, dishes, utensils, everything you will need for food preparation. Also available for your use in the suite is a washer and dryer. Netflix, cable and wifi. Feel free to grill some local seafood on the gas grill.

Although the listing says two beds (which has been impossible to change!!!) there is ONE very comfortable queen bed!!!!
