Although we did do a day trip to Sintra from here it was a long day. The location is fairly remote which is a benefit for incredible views and private beach. However, we felt cooking was definitely a must and the kitchen was laid out well with all the basics. We would have appreciated some better fry pans. The rooms are cozy and nicely decorated. Mattress were very firm and uncomfortable but adequate storage. We liked the bonus extra half bath outside. Being a little cooler at night it would have been nice to have a soft blanket or two to snuggle under. All and all a lovely piece of paradise that was greatly enjoyed. Can not beat a cocktail on the deck with the Atlantic dancing in from of you. Hosts were kind and accommodating. I would recommend walking down to Arrabida beach.It was super busy on a Sunday-full restaurants and good people watching."

The kids loved the garden and pool and one massive bonus was that the pool had a fence around. The patio was awesome and we spend most of out time there" - "If you feel like having a relaxed and time quality among family or friends this location will provide that. " - "2 Adults and 5 children of all ages and 2 small dogs. Perfectly situated for those travelling with their own transport. The quinta is traditionally decorated with a tasteful modern twist, full height ceilings and all rooms have direct access to the outside via full height glass doors so it is very light and airy. There is a large open fire with plenty of logs provided and because it was December w cosied up to this every evening. The children especially enjoyed roasting chestnuts and grilling marshmallows on it. My favourite spot was the scenic south facing veranda with the best views down the valley with a mountain backdrop, perfect for reading a great book with a glass of wine and only the birds to listen to. The fully fenced gardens are extensive and we enjoyed picking and juicing the sun warmed oranges for breakfast. The pool is a good size, beautiful maintained and despite it being winter we swam in it and the sea throughout our 2 week stay. There are walks/ cycling directly out of the quinta up the hillside and out on to the hill top with its own watch tower. Or if you prefer public transport and plenty of beautiful scenic walks around the area. We were welcomed by the lovely Sonya who had built us an open fire, laid out snuggly throws on the sofas and set us out some gorgeous local wines and pastries on the large outside eating area. Really comfortable snug outside lounging area too complete with hammock. We have come home a lot heavier! Thanks to the amazing range of delicious food. We especially enjoyed shopping at the local farmers markets and fishing with Bolas Tours. The traditional tile making shop was very friendly and informative. Beaches, coastal and Arrabida forest walks are stunning. Bernard was very helpful, especially when we finding our way to the villa , he replied promptly and helped us with good directions. He was also very quick to respond to our request to extend our stay and offered an additional maid service which we didn't need because the quinta is easy to keep clean with terracotta tiled floors , washing machine and dish washer. We had a wonderful time and hope to return soon. "

We are at the heart of the Arrábida Natural Park, surrounded by a wide variety of lush autochthonous vegetation, flowers and trees, many birds and some wild but friendly animals. Amazing mountain views and just a few minutes short from some of the most beautiful beaches at the blue coast and the Arrábida marine natural reserve. Peacefulness, coziness and an amazing silence, sometimes interrupted by singing birds, as well as an amazing ocean view on the south side of the mountain, will give you a sense of well-being and connectedness with nature.

The farm has 11 hectares, four houses, a pool, an orchard, a greenhouse and a small animal farm that children can visit and sometimes feed the animals. Many different fruit trees can be found within the area, and season fruit can be hand picked, while wondering through the wild areas and the many paths within . It also has a dense area of pine trees that our daughter Joana likes to call the enchanted hood.
It is a perfect place to rest and connect with nature. But it also provides you some incredible experiences, from food & wine to hiking, biking, diving, sailing or paragliding. Seeing the dinosaur's footprints close to Cabo Espichel, visiting the 16th century Arrábida Monastery or wondering through the many castles around. The Sado estuary is 20 minutes away, where the resident dolphin community often jumps along the boats to greet, or birdwatching on the Tagus and the Sado estuarine areas, where you can find some of the most amazing migrating bird species in Europe.
And then again, if you also want some urban atmosphere, Setúbal is just 20 minutes away, Sesimbra almost the same, Lisbon 45 and Sintra 55.
