They are also going to tell you that the only beach access is to go to the beach club which costs $150 euros per day. Not the case there is a public beach right down the road by the Paradise bar. It’s also going to be a 15-25 min walk to get to Porto Verene. Bed wasn’t very comfortable and breakfast options is limited. They serve the same thing everyday. "

If you are lucky enough to find this place available don't hesitate (but just be warned about the steep walk up - but it is so worth it though). The property is at the very top of everything hence the incredible views it has, it is totally unique and while the photos are good you need to see it for yourself to appreciate it. Originally built in 1960 and completely redesigned in 1976, the apartment has been continuously updated to ensure comfort and spatial flexibility.

The well-organized open-plan space is designed for natural light and optimal air circulation, providing a naturally cool environment. It includes a fully equipped living and dining area, a large double sofa bed, and a lofted double bed accessible via a wooden staircase.

The kitchen is functional and fully equipped with a dishwasher, induction cooktop, microwave/grill oven, refrigerator, and freezer.

Adjacent to the open space is a separate bedroom featuring two navy-style beds and a spacious wardrobe. The bathroom, elegantly finished in natural slate stone, features WC, washbasin and shower box.

There are some additional things about staying here that I think are useful to know. The apartment is at the top of a long hill. The walk down to the town is very pleasant with lovely views down to the sea. The walk back, less so, particularly on a hot day. However, this can be avoided. There is an excellent bus service running every half hour from the town to La Spezia with a stop just beyond the apartment. So for 1.50 Euro you can avoid the sweat. In the summer, this is enhanced by a shuttle bus which runs even more frequently. While cooking facilities are limited in the small kitchen, the local Conad store carries a wide range of products so it's quite easy to create something tasty even within the kitchen's limitations."

The flat is within walking distance of all of the shops and restaurants but far enough away that you can appreciate the quiet and breathtaking views. The beach is literally across the street which was really convenient. We spent most of our day away from the apartment, but it had all the amenities you would need. The second shower is actually not in the flat but up on the second veranda (yes, there are two balconies) but we actually liked using it as it still felt private and was more spacious. The hosts were responsive to any questions and made check-in and out very easy. The flat is on the smaller side but if the weather is right, you will want to spend most of your time on the veranda taking in the amazing views or out and about enjoying the city. - "Wow. What a place. This family of 4 had a truly wonderful week at Villa Olivio, and can only recommend you to spend your vacation here. Portovenere - with its liveliness, restaurants, and a small but well-stocked grocery store - is only 5 minutes away by boat (easy to reach with a boat, departs every 30 minutes or so). Still, you have that island feel on Palmeria. The pace is low, the crowds are almost non-existing and you can take a dip in the water wherever you please. But the most important bit is this: Villa Olivio is a true gem. Located in an old house with a couple of other apartments, this one stands out. The apartment feels completely secluded, the gate from the property opens directly to a small beach, and you have access to a private garden, an outdoor shower, and an amazing terrace. In fact, the shadowy terrace with its outdoor kitchen proved to be such a wonderful place to be (and to cook & enjoy meals!) that we ended up spending every evening here. The indoor facilities were just as expected (or better) - a cosy "summer cabin-ish" feel, with all the amenities you need. The A/C in the living room is capable of cooling down both the bedrooms too. You have a dishwasher, washing machine, and two fridges (one of them at the terrace). Ombretta is a kind & loving hostess, backed up by Alberto (the charming and lively "fixer" who can & will get you to Portovenere - or anywhere else - by his boat). The Villa is very conveniently located at 10 meters from the shore and few steps from the historical center and local restaurants, supermarkets.

Stella Di Mare is a 2 bedrooms, two bathroom villa with a fantastic view and a nice terrace overlooking the Channel of Porto Venere. The balcony, fully equipped with comfortable furniture offers a fantastic view on Palmaria island and it s particularly pleasing for breakfast outdoors or for sipping a good glass of local wine.
Upon entering we find the living room with sofa / TV, a dining table that seats up to six / eight people, a small kitchen fully equipped and a bathroom with shower. On your left there is a spiral staircase that allows access to the sleeping area of the first floor so arranged: 1 corridor with 1 single bed, 1 master bedroom with balcony and stunning sea view, 1 Twin room with 2 single beds, 1 bathroom with shower.
The owner, in addition to having an innate passion for the sea and oceans, was one of the Italian greatest collectors of seashells and this explains the marine style throughout the whole house.

Portovenere is a charming, busy seaside town - no need to venture into the heaving CinqTerre: everything's right there. The road between the house and the beach gets busy and the beach right across from the house is private, expensive and booked up in advance. No need to pay as there are good options nearby, including a place to swim just next to the private area right across the street. We liked swimming by the rocks on the other side of the harbour. Welcome to CaseMaggi vacation homes! Our Penthouse (Attico) apartment in Portovenere has just been fully remodeled. It is the top floor of a 2-story building (stairs only, no elevator). It has spectacular, unobstructed views of the seaside, beaches and beautiful Golfo dei Poeti and Palmaria island! The apartment is walking distance to the beach, port, and restaurants. The building complex has private access to the beach via a locked stairway.

The tastefully-furnished penthouse apartment sits above via Garibaldi, the road that gently slopes down into Portovenere town center.

This area is know as a hiker's paradise! There are trails behind the building.

The unit was recently renovated and they did a great job, but the best parts of our stay were the views and the proximity to town. You have endless views of the Gulf of Poets and the mountains beyond and it is right on the hillside above Portovenere so very close to restaurants, shopping, and a great jumping off point for boat trips or the ferry to the Cinque Terre or Palmaria Island. We cannot wait to return to Italy and would absolutely book this property again and look at the owners' other properties."

Alessandra & her husband were wonderful communitive hosts, from making sure we had access to parking & recommending many of the attractions & restaurants.
