- "First of all... We travel to see the town and experience the culture... Not to sit at the hotel all day. That said, this hotel was a short walk from the train station... And it is far enough off the beaten path that you will truly feel like a local. The staff was extremely friendly, and the hotel room felt like home with a balcony that had an incredible view. The staff was very helpful going out of her way to provide suggestions or lend an umbrella to use at the beach. You will not truly appreciate the town until you visit the other 5 cities in the CT. We felt that this town was more relaxed... Family friendly, true resort feeling than the other towns (especially further south). The placement of this B&B was on the walkable outskirts, which was an excellent balance of resort and local. If you are looking for a 5 star big name resort... Keep looking. If you are looking for a home base to immerse yourself into the CT, this is your spot. We spent our 3rd day in Riomaggiore, and wished we would have stayed here another night instead."

The apartment was completed in mid-August 2009 (complete renovation). It is located on the 1st floor from the park side, but is accessible from a rear entrance without stairs.
It consists of a large bedroom with air conditioning and an extra bed (17sqm), a bathroom with shower that is accessible from both the living room and the bedroom, a large living room with a fully equipped kitchen (dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, freezer, if desired German) , Coffee machine, electric oven and gas stove). Levanto has amazing restaurants that serve pizza to delicious pasta and fresh fish. Everything a super short walk. The beach with the ability to rent lounge and umbrella. There are also bars on the beach and wondering massages right by the sea. My husband had manyy hikes to take and flat areas around the town where I could walk easier. Boats or train or hikes to the Ciqueterre. These now have become so crowded you will feel a release to be back for a rest on the comfortable bed or sofa. We love opening the windows and listening to the rhythm of lives of those fortunate to live here. If it bothers you simply close the windows and the sounds are gone. So enough said but we will be back to Ulla’s Sun and Sea flat as soon as possible!"

Aside from that, I can’t imagine staying elsewhere (the actual towns in cinque terre towns would likely have been far more busy and crowded), and Levanto is extremely convenient (one train stop away from 5terre). With only 15 minutes car you can reach the center of Levanto and its beautiful beaches. Here there are also shops, boutiques,a cinema, cafes and a large number of restaurants and pizzerias. Every Wednesday there is an open-air market of various items and every day a fruit, vegetable and fish market.In summer there is a bus service between Dosso and Levanto but FOR A MORE COMFORTABLE STAY A CAR IS NEEDED. The Cinque Terre are easily accessible by trains that leaving from Levanto railway station and stopping at Monterosso (after 5 minutes), Vernazza (10 minutes), Corniglia (20 minutes), Manarola (25 minutes), Riomaggiore (30 minutes). Wonderful walks connect Levanto to the Cinque Terre villages and to each other; also from Dosso you can take beautiful walks: in particular we suggest to go hiking from Dosso to Monte Bardelone and Soviore Sanctuary and eventually going on until Monterosso and also from Dosso to Lavaggiorosso and Monte La Rossola from where you can enjoy a wonderful view of the coast.
