The warm spring water made all the difference! No chlorine or any chemicals just pure mountain water. Loved it! If you plan on cooking a lot as I did, the kitchen could use some upgraded tools and small appliances but that wasn’t an issue for me as I brought all of my cooking necessities from home. - "Spacious rooms, sleeping accommodations, well stocked kitchen with all the necessaries for preparing food for large groups, outdoor activities available - it seemed there was something for everyone. Hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Nothing bad to say about this trip!" - "We had a large group and the lodge and accommodations were perfect!" - "The guest house at the Cub River Lodge was an awesome spot for our family reunion. We had 6 family units, a total of 33 people, and there was plenty of space. The guest lodge is connected to the office and you are in an RV park. There is volleyball and tetherball in the campground that we enjoyed. In the house there is a kitchen meant for large groups with 2 fridges and 3 stove/ovens and everything you need for cooking. There is not a dishwasher, so come prepared with paper products. There is a dining area as well as a huge conference room, with lots of extra tables and chairs. We used the dining area for serving and the large room for eating, playing games and just hanging out. There is also a large family room with lots of couches, chairs and a big TV for our evening family stuff. There are 5 good-sized bedrooms. Most of the grandkids pulled the sleeping/mattress pads out of the loft and slept on those. There are 4 half bathrooms and 3 separate shower rooms which was great for our large group. The location is beautiful, but a bit remote. The nearest grocery store is Stokes, about 20 minutes away. Bear Lake is about an 80-90 minute drive. There are some hiking/walking trails, but if you want to do a lot of outdoor stuff, I would recommend planning before you go. Denise was an amazing host, very accommodating and easy to reach. We loved our stay and will happily return."

Come enjoy this private residence located on the 15th green of the City Golf course. Spectacular Views. Hottub on premise. I do require an additional $150 cleaning fee since it takes a minimum 5 hours to clean. Not included in nightly price since unfair to guests who don't care to use it.

Guest access
The apartment is a private space with keyless entry and its own entrance, located on the main floor of a commercial building in downtown Preston so there are no stairs within your living quarters!
Outside in the back, there is a designated parking stall for your use, and plenty of spots to park trailers and other vehicles outside of the designated parking lot.
Other things to note
* Please keep food in the kitchen and dining areas. Do not eat over rugs, couches, or beds.

* Yard games are available.

* We love animals as much as anyone, but some of us have allergies. We will have to ask that you leave your animals home. Thank you

* We have six adult and three youth kayaks. Kayaks and a trailer for pulling them are available to rent

**WINTER NOTICE** The Cub River Hideout is a snowmobile in / out cabin during winter months. Unless you plan to snowmobile, snowshoe, or ski the last 1/2 mile from the canyon road, do NOT book your stay January -- March. If you are looking for a quiet place to stay up the canyon for your snowmobile trip, this is the perfect place for you!

**ROAD ACCESS** Please note that the Cub River Hideout is 1/2 mile from the paved canyon road. The dirt and gravel road to the cabin is narrow and requires a vehicle and driver comfortable with mountain roads. If you are concerned, send the host a message and we will send you detailed directions and photos of the roads so you are prepared. The HOA enforces a strict 10 Mph speed limit on all HOA roads (cars, motorcycles, snowmobiles). Go up to the mountain trails above the HOA roads for speedy fun.

**WINTER NOTICE** Please be aware, depending on the snow pack, the Cub River Hideout may only be accessible by snowmobile or snowshoe during the months of December - March. Even if the snowpack is light, 4-wheel drive and chains are required. The host has a forgiving cancelation policy during these months to accommodate trouble accessing the cabin.

**CELL SERVICE** Please note this is a remote cabin with NO cellular phone service close to the cabin. For cellular service, you need to go down the canyon about 4 miles. Of course, at the cabin Wi-Fi is available, so phones with Wi-Fi calling enabled, FaceTime, iMessage, Google Hangouts, etc. should work just fine. Turn on Wi-Fi calling on your smart phone and you should be able to make and receive calls without a problem.

- 10 mph speed limit on HOA roads
- No parking on HOA roads. Pull all vehicles onto large parking area next to cabin.
- No staying in RVs, trailers, or tents on the property, per the HOA rules. All guests must stay in the actual cabin.

THE PROPERTY

There are five separate buildings on the property available to guests. The main house, the detached garage, two mini cabins, and a bathroom facility:

MAIN HOUSE
Main Level: Gathering space with comfortable seating and large windows. Enjoy all the benefits of being disconnected (no Wi-Fi) by playing board games, watching DVDs, and making memories together with the ample recreation that this property has to offer. There is a small kitchen with all the basics to prepare and serve meals, including a pantry. Included are a few barstools for indoor dining, otherwise guests can dine on the outdoor picnic tables or on the large table in the detached garage. A washer and dryer are available for use. The main bedroom on this level includes a queen bed and direct access to a shared bathroom. Connected to the shared bathroom is a small room with two twin beds and a TV. There is another small area with a twin bed that guests will need to walk through to access the bedroom with the queen bed. There is a shared 3/4 bathroom on this level.

Upstairs: A spiral staircase will lead guests to a spacious area with six twin beds, and space to play with the toys provided. There is also a bedroom (queen bed) with a very small en-suite bathroom. The home has plenty of options for cooling; A/C and portable fans will keep you cool during your stay.

The main house has a 13 guest capacity.

DETACHED RECREATION GARAGE
Downstairs: Through the downstairs entrance is a large couch, TV, fridge, and dining table, making this room the ideal place to gather!

Upstairs: Upstairs has been newly renovated, with five built-in twin beds and a queen bed. Guests staying in the loft can access this room from an outside door around back. A half bathroom is near the downstairs entrance.

The detached recreation garage has a 7 guest capacity.

MINI CABINS
Cabin 1: Queen bed in the main area with a twin bed in a semi-private section. Mini fridge, microwave, and A/C. Queen mattress in the loft. Cabin 1 has a 5 guest capacity.

Cabin 2: Queen bed in the main area in addition to a futon. Mini fridge, microwave, and A/C. Queen mattress in the loft. Cabin 2 has a 4 guest capacity.

BATHROOM FACILITY
The mini cabins do not have bathrooms. For the guests staying in these cabins, there is a bathroom facility 100 yards away. This camping-style facility has a private toilet, sink and mirror. Around the back of the facility is an outdoor shower; perfect for washing off after a day at the reservoir! There is also a covered pavilion with picnic tables and a gas/charcoal grill next to this facility. The cabins and bathroom facility are near the road on the North end of the property. This offers convenient restroom access near the reservoir.

There’s room enough for the whole Hobbit family with enough beds for 14 people of all sizes. There are 3 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 2 showers and a tub. There’s a large sitting room, full kitchen with extra large cook top, fridge, microwave, all the appliances, and a butler’s pantry. There’s a movie room with TV and rec room with pool table in the basement. Spacious back deck with a stunning view and a hot tub. The Master bedroom is on the main floor and has a secret entrance. There are two large bedrooms in the basement. The big one has a king size bed, a twin bunk bed, and a twin over full bunk bed. The almost-just-as-big room has a Queen sized bed, a twin bunk, and a twin over full as well (all mattresses by Purple).
