This one bedroom unit has been fully renovated and luxuriously upgraded. It sleeps up to four people and is located on the mountain, about half a mile south of Purgatory Resort, nestled in a mature aspen grove at an elevation of almost 8800 feet. It is only a two-minute drive to resort base area. It is the perfect location for an active get-away, a relaxing break or a romantic escape. The condo features breathtaking views of the San Juan Mountains from the living room, dining room, bedroom and deck.

The living room is inviting and decorated in an updated “Colorado Mountain Style” … overstuffed seating, earthy colors, with natural wood and stone elements. The 10-foot wide glass door wall opens to a private deck with a seating area to enjoy the fresh mountain air and amazing views. Deer and elk sometimes graze within a few dozen feet of the deck. Hummingbirds provide summertime entertainment as they buzz around enjoying the wildflowers.

The interior dining area features seating for four at a bar-height lodge-style table. There are also outdoor picnic tables in the meadow that can be used during the warmer months.

We often receive compliments from our guests regarding the impressive chef-inspired kitchen. From the new quality appliances, hickory cabinets and quartz counter tops to the professional quality pots and pans, new dishes, utensils and inventory of small appliances, you’ll be all set to create a gourmet meal. Our 1,500 sq ft, 2 bedroom (queen beds), 2 bath, custom home was built in 2007 and offers the most privacy and seclusion of any property near Purgatory Ski Area as it sits on 132 acres, yet is less than 2 miles from the ski resort, and 25 miles from downtown Durango.

The gourmet kitchen has stainless steel appliances. The main living space and master bedroom feature 55 inch flat screen TV's with 5.1 surround sound. The leather couch in the main living space converts to an incredibly comfortable and supportive queen bed. The large covered porch is a great place for lounging and watching the sun disappear over the mountains in the evening. The house is surrounded front and back with Colorado Rocky Mountain Wildflowers.

The property boarders the Weminuche National Forest to the North and East, which is the largest and most unused wilderness area in North America. There are numerous lakes and ponds on the property, and a road to higher elevations where the views of the surrounding mountains and lakes are spectacular.

If you bring your dog, it will have a great time chasing wildlife and playing in the forest.

At 8,900 feet of elevation, the home is a gateway to an amazing winter playground and also serves as the perfect summer retreat, with a million acres of national forest land at your doorstep offering all your favorite mountain activities. It’s only a 2 minute walk to Twilight Lake for fishing and paddle boarding and as well as Purgatory Flats Trailhead, one of the most scenic hikes in the San Juan Mountains. Horseback riding, jeep trails, an alpine slide, epic mountain biking and the Purgatory Inferno Mountain Coaster are all less than 5 minutes from the home.

Our 1,900 square foot Cascade Village condo (Unit 56) features three bedrooms and three bathrooms along with an enclosed loft which has a comfortable queen pull out sofa. It is a great family mountain escape, with a full kitchen, wood fireplace, two private decks and amazing views.

The condominium is fully furnished and offers all the comforts of home. The open living plan, wood floors and high end furnishings and linens all contribute to the warm atmosphere. There are TVs in each of the bedrooms.

The East Rim buildings were some of the first residences at Purgatory so the builders had dibs onthe best location possible! Steps from everything while being private and quiet with the most amazing mountain views.

We are directly across the street from the Purgatory Lodge reception and perched right on the cliff overlooking the Twilight Mountains. Did we mention the waterfall right next to the building? You also have your own private parking next to the condo.

Come inside and you will find two stories with the living area upstairs and bedrooms downstairs. The living area is open and centers around the wood-burning fireplace and the brand-new deck with unobstructed views of Twilight Peak, the Needles Mountains, and the Weminuche Wilderness. The well-appointed kitchen lets the cook work their magic while still being part of the action or you can gather on the deck and grill. There is plenty of seating and a king-size Murphy bed (with a true king mattress) that can be folded down at the end of the evening for those extra guests to get a good night's sleep - life is too short to sleep on a pull-out couch! There is also a full bath with a tub and glass panel shower.

Downstairs you have 2 bedrooms, each with its own access to the full bathroom. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, large flat-screen TV, and plenty of windows as well as your own door to an outside ground-level patio. The 2nd bedroom has a Full/Twin bunk bed that is ideal for kids. We caution that the top bunk should not sleep anyone over 150 pounds.
There is also a full washer/dryer, ski locker, boot warming area, and much more. The bathrooms were completely replaced in 2021, new bunks and master bed in 2021, new Murphy bed in 2021, new paint and decks in 2021, and new carpet and tile throughout in 2022.

As a guest in our home, you get access to the resort's heated pool, hot tub, and fitness center all located right across the street at Purgatory Lodge. Towels, change rooms and showers are provided at the Lodge.

The condo is surrounded by the San Juan National Forest and there is plenty of great hiking, fishing, horseback riding, mountain biking, and more that you can walk to or within a 15-minute drive. There is a small lake across the road that you can paddle-board on. There are a limited number of restaurants and bars but they all have a lot of character - try the pizza at Schoolhouse, sliders on the deck at the Nugget (and live music), or finer dining at Lift Restaurant or Moose and Squirrel's.

Silverton is a true 'old west' town and the northern terminus of the DSNGRR narrow gauge steam train and you can be there in 30 minutes. Or drive 30 minutes south to Durango where there is an amazing variety of shops, restaurants, grocery stores, outfitters, and more, as well as the amazing events that happen all year long.

This well appointed, low key cabin is the storybook mountain cabin. Nestled in an aspen grove and sitting slightly above Lake Purgatory it boasts a short walk to the private lake making it easy to go canoeing or paddle boarding. Winter months provide a backcountry sort of experience without having to go deep into the woods. While the cabin is just over a mile from HWY 550, during a snow storm guests will likely have to park approximately 50 yards from the cabin and walk, ski, or snowshoe in. Even though the road is maintained, the hill at the top of the driveway becomes unsurpassable in big snowstorms. This is exciting for the adventurers at heart! LOCATION: Silverpick sits at appx 8800 feet in elevation. It borders the National Forest and is about halfway between the historic towns of Durango and Silverton. This prime location is just 1 mile from Purgatory Ski Resort's entrance and approximately 25 minutes from downtown Durango, with scenic drives up to Silverton and Ouray. Enjoy both quiet privacy and the incomparable Needles Mountain views from this townhome, while being close enough to the action of Purgatory Resort where you can enjoy a variety of restaurants, winter and summer activities, and festivals/events.

PETS: This home is pet friendly! We allow a maximum of 2 dogs max and the pet fee is $40/day (for a max $250 per stay). Pets must be crated if they are left home alone.

Our Accommodations comfortably sleep 6 but with two sofa sleepers in the living room you can add 2 more guests. Note that prior approval is needed for more than 6 guests.
Upstairs you will find the suites. The master bedroom includes 1 king bed and a large ensuite bathroom. The large guest bedroom includes 1 queen bed and a set of twin bunks with ensuite bath.
The living room has two queen sofa sleepers that can be used for additional guests.

The kitchen is fully stocked with all you need to cook. There is a large fridge, electric cooktop and stove, microwave, dishwasher, cutlery, cookware, toaster, kitchenaid mixer, crockpot and Keurig coffee maker and 12 cup coffee maker.

Three smart TV's, one in living room and two in the upstairs bedrooms. Just login and use our guest option or use your own login for your streaming services!

Our unit is equipped with Starlink for WIFI. It can accommodate all your steaming devices and computer needs.

There is a washer and dryer in the unit and some basic detergent for your use.

If you are booking for the Christmas weekend, it must include Both Christmas Eve and Day and be a 4 night minimum. The same requirement applies to July 4th.
