Guests have access to the entire cottage and property with the exception of the small barn, greenhouse, and other small horse structures.
Other things to note
We welcome dogs, but unfortunately, due to allergies, WE CANNOT ACCEPT CATS.

There is a security camera above the front, outside door. It only covers the driveway area and audio is turned off. It is used for security when nobody is at the house.

This is a country home, so some things to note are:

-The house has some small quirks that add to it's charm, but may be different from city homes
-In spring, summer, and fall there may be mosquitos and other insects that can bite, so insect repellent may be a good idea. While there are screens on all windows, insects may get inside from time to time when doors are opened and closed.
-Note that we live on a dirt road, so there may be dust and some potholes/bumpiness on that small stretch of the road before our driveway.
-We use well water, which is tested and safe to drink. It may taste different from city water, so if you prefer to drink bottled water, it is available at the nearby market.
-Water pressure in the home can be variable. Only one shower can be used at any one time and if you run water using appliances such as the dishwasher or washing machine while showering, pressure in the shower will drop.
-There is a sump pump in the crawlspace under the house that runs periodically throughout the day. This is nothing to be concerned about, but you may hear it from time to time. It just keeps groundwater out of the crawlspace.
-Walls are not very well sound proofed on bedrooms/bathrooms
-There is no fenced yard, so dogs need to be kept on leash or well-supervised and children supervised.
-There is anpath through the forest behind the house, but it is very natural and the first part is wetland and can be very wet and muddy depending on how much rain we've had, so rain boots may be needed. There may also be logs to climb over in places, which adds to the adventure, but may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
-This is a country home and we try to leave things as natural as possible to provide homes for pollinators and other Woodland creatures. We allow natural wildflowers to grow and only mow areas that are essential.

This lakefront all-season property includes 4 bedrooms & loft area providing privacy and a relaxing sleep for up to 10 people plus two additional children. Our fully-furnished bedroom suites include three (3) with King Beds and two (2) with Queen Beds. The second queen bedroom is located in the loft. The two ensuite bathrooms are equipped with large hydrotherapy tubs.

Our entertainment level includes a wet bar with bar & wine fridges, pool table, electronic or regular dart board, and video and board games. The living room provides ample seating and a 55" Smart television complete with Internet and digital cable. You will also have access to high speed internet. Both levels of the lake house include large decks with lounging areas and views of the lake.

In the summer, feel free to use the BBQ and the firepit, which is part of a large flagstone patio. There is also seasonal use of the kayaks and the spacious dock. In the winter, you are just minutes away from a renowned recreational centre for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing!

My family had a wonderful time at the Tuscan Dream North! The waterfront was perfect, great views of the lake, with great swimming and boating, and just relaxing on the dock! The cottage itself has so many excellent features, including the two covered patios, the hot tub, the games room and the firepit!

Modern lake house with cottage character on a beautiful Canadian Shield Lake, Lac Rheaume in Val-Des-Monts, QC, only 40 minutes to downtown Ottawa. Deep, clean weed free swimming off the dock. We provide complimentary use of 2 kayaks, 4 paddle boards (3 adult, 1 kids), a canoe and rowboat to explore our pristine lake with approximately 15 small islands, which is also connected by a creek to Lac Battaille. Construction of the interior of our modern cottage with cottage character was completed in 2017. The main living room/dining area has dramatic 20 foot cathedral ceiling, hardwood floors, large windows, and a stone fireplace with a cozy Napoleon high efficiency wood burning fireplace. There are beautiful views of the lake and surrounding hills from the front deck and screened-in porch. The Lakhouse has a fully equipped kitchen with a large convection oven, microwave and diswasher. A large propane barbeque is locsted on one of the two decks. Our cottage is situated high above the water. There is a fairly steep walking path down to the lakefront that is not suitable for people with mobility issues. While we are welcoming hosts, if you are looking for a cottage to have a big party gathering, this is not the place for you. We want to be respectful of our neighbours and our lake. New in 2024 is an outdoor 6 person electric sauna!

Detailed review: We wanted somewhere remote and close to nature for a week and this seemed to fit what we wanted from the posting. We arrived late in the night and had some difficulty locating the house (The host gave me exact coordinates to the door so that one is on me). My maps took me to the other side of the house and there were people there, so I thought there was a mix-up. Some of the pictures in the posting are shared spaces like the Sauna and boat house. We were alone for my stay, except for the first night, so we had the whole space to ourselves which is how we like it. If you're social and looking to interact with other people then those are great spots to hang out. The house itself was very spacious and clean. There was even a high chair put out for my baby which I appreciated. There were also children swings and many other things that children would love. There are 3 bedrooms big enough for a couple and one big bathroom/toilet with a tub. There is also a kayak and life vests for adults to use. If you need groceries or food, the closest spot is about a 10 minute drive away, so you probably need a car to stay here. I loved my experience after all is said and done and would recommend it."

Located on a small, private lake (no motor boats allowed), this unique 2 bed, 2 bath, square log chalet is perfect for a couple, two couples or a small family while on summer vacation. At only 40 minutes from downtown Ottawa, this lovely home provides the best of both worlds – the amenities of the Nation’s Capital, and the tranquility of a secluded lake, tucked away from civilization. Charming, cozy, welcoming. Come and discover our little piece of paradise.

- "We visited Ana's cottage in July/Aug of 2016. It was even better than advertised. Very cute and clean interior with lots of outdoor space around the cabin to kick back and relax. Ana made us feel incredibly welcome in her home and left a number of small touches (a bottle of wine, a few bottles of beer, breakfast fixings etc.), which were a very pleasant surprise. The lakefront area is fairly limited and the dock is relatively small, so expect to spend your outdoor time (well, the time that you are not spending on the water enjoying the SUPs, canoe, or aluminium fishing boat) lounging on the deck outside the cabin or in the tranquil yard area between the cabin and the water. It worked for us perfectly and we enjoyed the wildlife as well (deer and wild turkeys in the woods around the cabin). On rainy days (not that we got any!), the interior living room is very comfortable and features a SmartTV and speedy internet connection. Cell-phone reception, however, is patchy at best. The lake is a man-made lake and is quite shallow, so expect a fair amount of growth at the bottom, but once you get out into the larger area of the lake, it really opens up. You can also apparently portage into much larger lakes nearby, though we did not get that adventurous. Thanks for a great stay--we would definitely recommend your cottage to friends and family."
