About this space
A charming board and batten home centrally located in downtown heritage Perth. Built in 1834 but upgraded and Located across the street from beautiful Stewart Park and steps from shops and restaurants. With no residential neighbours, you have your own private location yet right in the heart of downtown Perth.
The space
Home features two bedrooms located upstairs. First bedroom has a queen bed and walk in closest. Second bedroom has two twin beds, upon request twin beds can be joined together using king bedding to make one king bed. Both rooms feature room darkening blinds and new linens. Upstairs bathroom has a new tub and handheld shower head.

Main floor has an open concept kitchen and dining room with a large dining room table perfect for making memories with friends and family. Kitchen features all basic cookware, new Nespresso Vertuo machine and electric kettle stocked with an assortment of teas and coffee pods.

Living room features a brand new queen Beauty rest pullout couch, gas fireplace and a 50inch tv with Roku guest access. Free Wifi also provided.

Main floor bathroom has a glass door shower.

Large enclosed seasonal front sunroom with two seating areas, perfect for morning coffee or an afternoon drink. Large backyard.
Guest access
Guests will be provided a keypad code prior to check-in. Entry will be at the back door. Please note the keypad is dark so if you cannot see the digits, shine your phone flashlight to illuminate. Please exit and enter via the back door as guests will not have keys to lock the front door.
Other things to note
Parking available for 2 vehicles, parked one behind the other. Please note this driveway is narrow so use caution when entering and exiting. Paid parking lots available next doors as well.

Stairs feature a retractable safety gate and double railings for additional safety.

A little tight getting the vehicle backed up through the narrow entryway for parking - but it worked. Our truck is big - other folks wouldn't have a problem. We also had a bit of an issue with the electronic entry code - but the hosts fixed things up immediately - and said if we needed to go out again it was ok to leave the door unlocked as the neighbourhood is incredibly safe. That was good to hear! Neat, cozy and centrally located!"

Fresh lake air and quiet lull you to sleep at this two-bedroom cottage on the north side of Black Lake. Beautiful sunrises and birdwatching over breakfast start your day before kayaking, canoeing or swimming in a sheltered bay. There are gentle breezes from the lake to keep you cool and a wood-burning stove for warmth. When the sunset begins to fade, sit around the fire pit and gaze at the many stars, meteorite showers and fireflies while accompanied by the haunting call of the loons. The cottage sleeps 4 and includes the use of a Blueair HEPA air purifier (in case any wildfire smoke comes this way), high-speed internet, a canoe, 2 kayaks and an eV charging station. The bathroom and kitchen have been remodelled and the kitchen comes equipped with a microwave, stove, fridge, espresso and regular coffeemakers, dishwasher and washing machine. The towns of Perth and Westport are nearby for rainy-day activities and there's a drive-in theatre close by. There are good cycling paths and provincial parks with walking trails nearby. The lake is great for fishing too. This cozy cottage is a lovely getaway from smoke and city noise and will leave you feeling rejuvenated by the end of your stay.

- "We stayed for 4 nights and 5 days. It was beautiful and peaceful and felt like home. The host was wonderful and had left markers games for my 5 year old. There was wood for the fire pit and lots of swimming and exploration of both the property and the area. Wonderful time!" - "Spent a fantastic few days at Pam's cottage. The cottage is old style but very well maintained and all the amenities are there. Water is not portable, but several large jugs of drinking water is provided. You also need to bring your own linens and towels. The cottage is located in a very quite bay. Water is usually very calm out front even when wind pickup further out. The view from the cottage is money. It is so relaxing sitting on the lounge chairs enjoying the view. But what we enjoyed most are the watercrafts provided. They are all excellent for paddling. Two seats are provided for the canoe. We went to the top of the lake and back and it's a 12.5 km trip. Bass are plentiful in the lake, but all are less than 1lb in size."

Our cottage is located on beautiful Otty Lake, 10 minutes from historic Perth, Ontario. Built on the Canadian shield we christened this 1940s bungalow Chraig a Dwr (Welsh for rock and water). The cottage is perched on a small outcropping of rock giving the sensation of being nestled in the trees. Those who stay here remark on the peace and tranquility they feel looking out the bank of windows to the lake or enjoying the stars around the campfire. We have lots of wildlife around and several Provincial Parks within an easy drive. We have kayaks and a canoes to enjoy the lake and if you bring your boat there is a public launch you can use. Or you might want to curl up with those books you have been meaning to read and enjoy a glass of wine on the deck. Head into town and enjoy the wonderful cafes and restaurants, galleries and shops catering to all tastes. Ottawa Valley is known for unique little towns throughout the area - Westboro, Almonte, Carleton Place, Merrickville - to explore. Relax, rest and enjoy!
