The Mountain Cabin in Town is extremely private offering plenty of privacy for your stay, while still offering shopping, dining, and activities just a short ways away.

The Mountain Cabin in Town has an outdoor pool that is open for use from April to Oct, weather and temperature permitting. The pool has a heater which keeps it warm early/late season and during any chilly evenings.

We love the house but the ½ acre of yards, wildlife and tranquility is our favorite aspect of this property. Sometimes best enjoyed in the screened in porch and other times enjoyed on the tree swing. Enjoyable anytime of year due to successional gardening.

Guests will be able to enjoy our cozy abode and both front and back yards. Please note there is no garage or shed access at this time.

Early check-in of 2pm can be requested for an additional $100. We would be happy to accommodate if it is available.

Check-out is at 10am.
Late check-out of noon is $100 and must be approved 24 hours in advance. Late check-out without prior approval is not allowed and will result in added fees. Any check-outs after 1pm will incur a charge of the nightly rate due to our inability to have the home ready by 4pm for our next guests.

Kitchen:
Fully equipped and stocked with organic olive oil and spices. The Main table can seat 8-10 table and chairs. Teak table in screened-in porch can accommodate 8+. Chef’s counter can accommodate another 4.

Dogs:
Please reach out ahead of your visit to inquire about your furry friend joining you. We may allow up to 2 dogs per reservation. We request that you crate your dog when you leave him/her home alone; we provide two LG. crates. We also ask that you clean up after your pooch, including a quick vacuum and poo pickup. Any dog mess left behind will incur a $100+ fee.

- "Family members came in from NE. " - "I really enjoyed my 2 week stay at this cute, cozy and comfy place. I just moved to the area and needed a place for 2 weeks while checking out homes to rent and this was the perfect spot. It allowed me to feel calm and relaxed during the stressful process of being technically "homeless". Even though I was without a home, it didn't feel that way...this place felt like "home". I really enjoyed the sunroom on nice days, the cozy fake fireplace in the MBR and the great location near historic Wake Forest. The hosts were very responsive to my needs and did their best to make my stay peaceful, comfortable and enjoyable. The only negatives would be the tricky driveway to back out of, the difficult shower faucet to set to a good temp, a humming noise under the MBR that seemed to occur for hours some nights, making it somewhat hard to sleep for light sleepers (like myself!), and the bed softness--the MBR bed is pretty hard and the other queen size bed is very soft. The full size bed seemed to be able middle in support, but was a bit tight to sleep on with my 2 pups. Regardless, I had a very nice stay and would recommend to others looking for a charming house near historic Wake Forest. You will love it!"

- "From time of booking to day leaving the Host was very accommodating and very responsive. The property is still new and some normal day construction next door which was told to us and it was very mild and didn't distract our trip or cause any noise issues. The rooms were. very well appointed and the decor was nice. Everything was as described. Very convenient to have a store across the street for everyday food and drinks. My family travels to this area frequently and certainly will be coming back."

- This larger unit is located on the 3rd & 4th floor of the building and steps are required. 2 interior flights are required to enter the living / kitchen area and an additional flight of stairs is required for bedrooms / full bathrooms.

- "Pros -easy to find -parking included -clean -spacious -well appointed and professional -no problems -close to grocery store and a few restaurants Cons -new building area, so it’s very loud in the morning -not very soundproof -lots of stairs if that’s a concern for you -would be nice if each bedroom had a bathroom with a shower for more privacy" - "It was the perfect place for several parents and their daughters during a long soccer tournament weekend. Place was clean, beds comfortable and it had all the items one needs to make the stay easier (toiletries, dish detergent/soap, towels, bedding, etc.). For those that don’t like too many stairs, take the lower condo; otherwise, you are getting some great exercise. You will hear some traffic if you go to bed early on the main road side, but nothing terrible and was nice to be so close to Wegmans and some good restaurants. Check-in was easy. We never had to contact the host with questions, since everything was so nicely written in the house manual. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend."

Even doing the dishes here is enjoyable because of the gorgeous views out the window above the kitchen sink! *The space is best for SMALL meals, think kitchenette.

BEDROOMS:
Lake View Retreat offers 2 lovely bedrooms to choose from, the self-titled “Lake View Room” with a queen bed and the lovely “Rustic Relaxation Room” with a full-size bed.

“Lake View Room” as its name suggests, boasts breathtaking views of the lake. Early birds will especially appreciate this room as the golden glow from the rising sun flows into the room. For those of you who are more night owls, don’t worry, we provide thicker curtains to keep the sun at bay until you are ready to take on the day! The restroom for guests to freshen in, is located off the Lake View room.

The “Magnolia Room” has elements of a classic farmhouse style. The large fireplace aesthetic is perfect for the chilly cold days of Fall and Winter. Cozy up in the comfy covers or bundle up in a blanket to enjoy a book in one of the two beautiful Victorian chairs for guests to relax within their room. Don’t forget to enjoy watching the sunset colors over the field through the wall of windows!

Extra Sleeping Space
The living room offers two seating areas that can be placed together to make a comfortable sleeping arrangement if there are extra guests, roughly the size of a double bed.
We also offer a full-sized inflatable mattress if guests would prefer. (linens and extra pillows provided)
