*Childrens books, games, changing table, pack ‘n play, baby gate and more are included. Furniture is not anchored. Outlet covers are already on several outlets. We have not found a baby gate that works with our stairs. We usually block the downstairs with a bench if needed.

*This house is full of antique furniture. Please treat it with respect. As with any old house, floors sag, but they have been reinforced. Cabinet doors may pop open due to unevenness. The walls are made of plaster, so they may appear cracked*
*Recent upgrades:
-The downstairs bath has new wood flooring from trees from our property, as well as the counter. The sink and toilet are also new.
-The laundry room has new LVT, and a new refrigerator.
-The kitchen has a new range.
-The living room has a brand new Lay Z Boy.
-The exterior got a new metal roof 2 years ago.

*You will hear nature…and probably a rooster. Along with being in nature, there will be spiders, insects, etc. Bug spray is available. We recommend keeping windows and doors shut. We do have routine pest control as well.*

*Security devices are located at the back door (video doorbell), inside our garages and chicken coop, and root cellar, facing the blueberry patch, and in the farm stand. There are none in the interior living spaces.*

*Only human waste and toilet paper in the toilets!! Use trash cans provided for everything else. No food, grease or oil down the drains.*

*We added a self serve farm stand at the end of our driveway that is open daily and stocked with fresh produce and baked goods. You may see cars pull in and purchase items. If this makes you uncomfortable, we can keep it closed during your stay.*

There are four outside foldable chairs and table. The best part about the lake camper is the view! The property is lakefront and has a very nice dock for swimming and sunbathing! Bring the foldable chairs down and enjoy the beautiful views!!

Nestled in a private cove on Kerr Lake, the Log Cabin is a perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Located in Clarksville, Virginia, the Log Cabin is just 1.5 hours from Raleigh, 2 hours from Richmond and 3 hours from Charlotte. It's a short drive, but you'll feel like you're a million miles away.

YOUR ACCOMMODATIONS
You'll enjoy views of the lake from nearly every room in the house, a sprawling deck, open floor plan and rustic furnishings. With four bedrooms and two bathrooms, the Log Cabin sleeps 8 (3 queen, 2 twin beds and 2 lofted beds), but can accommodate a larger family with the use of 2 toddler cots, 1 pack 'n' play and a comfy sofa. Bathing towels and bedding are provided (please bring your own beach towels). Dining room seats 8. Kitchen is well equipped for a group of 8+. House has heat and air conditioning.

YOUR ITINERARY
Drink your morning coffee and enjoy the sunrise on the front porch glider. Take a run along the trails through the quaint neighborhood. Catch an impressive catfish or bass from the private dock. Soak up rays, dine alfresco and watch deer roam the 3-acre property from the expansive deck. Play tennis or basketball on the neighborhood court. Take a nap or watch the sunset in the comfy hammock. WATER PLAY
Kerr Lake is a popular water sports destination with plenty of open water for skiing, wake boarding, tubing, etc. If you prefer a more relaxing water experience, the cove is the place to be. Swim in the calm waters around the dock or lounge on your float and enjoy the peaceful cove with heron, geese and ducks.

BOATING
Located on a calm cove, the U-shaped slip dock has room for three boats (or more). Put your boats in at Longwood Park (5 miles away) and visit Clarksville Marina (6 miles away) for all of your boating needs. Unlike many Kerry Lake properties, the Log Cabin has only a slight incline from the water to the house, making loading and unloading easy. If you have strong arms, the dock is accessible by both strollers and wheelchairs.

FISHING
The crappie, catfish, striper and bass are calling ... It's time to drop a line! The Log Cabin's private dock features a fish cleaning station with both power and running water. Bobcat's Bait & Tackle (4 miles away) has everything you need for a great fishing trip on Kerr Lake. No boat? No problem! Catch your dinner from the dock. The largest catch from the dock so far is a 32 pound catfish. Can you top that? Send us your photos from the dock!

SHORELINE FUN
If you prefer to stay onshore, you can take a short walk along the cove to the nearby peninsula. There is a sandy beach, great swimming area for kids, a picnic table, grill and horseshoes. The land along the shoreline is public property and great for exploring, fort building, frog catching and hide-and-go-seek. AREA With buildings dating back to 1889, Clarksville, Virginia has an old-fashioned feel to it. It's a small town with friendly locals who are happy to provide tips about the area. The downtown is just a 10 minute drive or short boat ride from the Log Cabin. You can tie up your boat at the public dock and explore Virginia's only lakeside town. There are plenty of restaurants and shops to explore as well as several grocery stores and fast food options. Looking for dinner to go? Call ahead - some restaurants will deliver to the dock!

The eco-friendly cottage, constructed in 2013 by contractor Steve Storm, mixes contemporary design and amenities with antique furnishings and Americana charm. Every inch of the 700 square feet is efficiently utilized with nothing wasted. Soudan Cottage was sited and designed with sustainability and a simpler, more relaxed existence in mind. Solar panels cover the southern roof line and store energy in hand made battery lockers. Ceramic tile floors throughout the downstairs kitchen, bath, and sitting area provide natural cooling in warm weather. Pine flooring in the upstairs bedroom/study offers comfort year round. Mr. Slim climate units can be run during the day - but may drain the batteries overnight if overused. A backup generator can provide power if the sun is insufficient. the cottage was situated to take advantage of prevailing summer breezes aided minimally by small fans. Cool night air can be circulated through the cottage's 13 windows via the upstairs ceiling fan.

The kitchen minimizes waste with an energy efficient refrigerator, and a propane powered oven and range.

An easy-to-read energy monitor in the kitchen displays how much solar power is stored, and how much is being transferred, so that usage can be managed smartly according to the time of day and the current weather conditions. The cottage utilizes a modern septic system and deep well.

Don't have a boat, we'll help you rent one for the whole week and you will keep it at the dock of the house every night. Tuesday night, it's Bingo at the Community Center supporting the Ruritans! Wednesday, back at Pine, it's pizza and game night in the sunroom! Early in the morning, the Dads and kids all get up early to go on a guided canoe tour, meanwhile the Moms go to the Amish furniture factory a couple of towns over. The history buff in the family can make tour reservations at a local gem they have on their list - Prestwould Plan.tation. Prestwould is the most intact and best documented pre-Civil War plan.tation surviving in Southside Virginia. If golf is your game, there's Kinderton Country Club featuring a Donald Ross designed course just five minutes from Pine Landing.

Perhaps your whole family is all about the lake - imagine the fun your family can discover at Pine Landing. You are at a huge, lake-front home where playing in the lake, getting out on a boat, and having fun in the sun is all there is on your agenda ... for the whole week. You've got 800 miles of shoreline and 49,000 acres of water as your playground. After a great day of family time outside, freshly tanned, you come back to the house and grill your favorite meal. The aroma coming off the grill sets everyone's appetite! Sit, relax, enjoy dinner, have that beverage and rest knowing everything is just fine at Pine Landing.

The back yard is huge with a sloping walk to the lake and your own private dock with ladder. There is plenty of water depth for your big boat and launching ramps are less than five minutes from the house. So, bring your whole family, your boats and jet skis, and get ready to have plenty of quality time together. Oh, the dog is welcome, too.

ABOUT THE HOUSE

The house has what we call the Main Level and the Cottage Level (which traces back to the house's history). In the 1950's after Kerr Lake was formed, just a summer cottage was on this land. Years later my family built a large house that incorporated the cottage into the plan, thus the Cottage Level and the Main Level.

The Main Level has all of the major parts of the home - living room, sitting area around the wood-burning fireplace (fireplace not available in the summertime), dining area, kitchen, screened porch, open porch with grill, laundry room, and a full bathroom in the hall. There are two bedrooms: the Main Master Bedroom, with en-suite, has a king-size bed, a 32' HDTV and DVD player, two closets, and French doors opening out to a deck with a lake view. The Main Second Bedroom also has a king-size bed, a 32' HDTV and DVD player, a large closet, and two dressers. Both of these rooms also have luggage stands to make unpacking easier.

The adults enjoy this Main level of the house. The living room boasts a wood burning fireplace (available when outside temperatures are 50 and below), the 72" Sony Bravia high definition TV coupled with the Sony Bravia home theater surround sound system, Amazon FireSticks for streaming TV, cloth and leather furniture. The kitchen is open concept allowing the cooks to remain involved with the action in the living room, or friends may join the cooks by sitting at the kitchen four-seat island.

About six steps down from the main living area you arrive on the Cottage Level in the sunroom which has plenty of seating, many books, and two sets of French doors that reveal an open, sunny deck with lounge chairs and end tables.

Off the sunroom, there is the entrance (with a door) to the cottage. You enter the cottage living room which has a large window looking out to the lake, plenty of seating, and a 42" HDTV with DVD. The kids can gather here - they have their own living room (that door comes in handy if they get too loud), three bedrooms and two full baths, and separate HVAC system. The showers in these rooms have pre-set temperature maximum control for added peace of mind.

The cottage master bedroom has a queen-size bed and en-suite bathroom; the second bedroom also has a queen-size bed and en-suite, and the third bedroom – which is Pine's fifth bedroom - has two twin beds. The twin bedroom shares the bathroom of the second bedroom by entering a different door (think of a Jack & Jill bathroom). The couch in the cottage’s living room has a unique pull out bed that inflates by using a special electric air pump and is available to families with 11 or 12 people (the air pump is provided to you when you pick up the house keys).

ABOUT PARKING

There is plenty of parking for cars and trailers because there is a large, circular driveway, and there is a spur off leading to the additional parking area by the garage (sorry, the garage itself is not available for use).

• Longwood boat ramp is less than 8 minutes away, good for anyone coming for fishing and /or bringing a boat. The location on the lake is on a quiet cove off of channel off of the main open water but in less than 5 minutes out of the cove around the corner you reach the open water of the main lake. You can ski or tube in the channel or go out into the main water for more adventures or sightseeing.
• The kitchen has all the amenities you need and features a large island with 3 bar stools - nice for entertaining. There is also a dining table with seating for up to 10, The kitchen and dining are open to the living room with a Smart TV, DVDs, board games, books and puzzle books.
• Relax and have dinner on the table in the screened in porch in the evenings or sit by the fire at the fire pit with the provided skewers for marshmallow and hot dog roasting
• There are three bedrooms - The master with a king bed, the second with a queen and 4 twin beds and the third with a double bed along with two full baths. There is also a queen sleeper sofa in the family room. Charcoal and Blackstone grills for your use as well (please clean after use! and please let us know asap if fuel runs out).

Stillwater's is a beautiful 3 story, 2,973 square foot log home. The home is located on a cove with water views from all three levels. There is a 28' x 12' wood deck off the main level; A - frame glass wall, with picnic table/benches, lounge chairs, occasional tables, and grill. From the basement level, you terrace down to the lake to find a 13' X 28' WEST VIRGINIA FLAGSTONE PATIO WITH GLIDERS AND FIRE PIT! The ground level basement floor has a patio with table and chairs and a 7 PERSON HOT TUB!!!!

The cabin provides 4 bedrooms: 2 king beds - one king on main level with the second king on basement level, both beds have new Serta mattresses. The 2 queen beds are on the 3rd level. The main level king bed/bath has a claw foot tub and a shower. The ground level king bed/bath has a shower and there is a tub/shower bath on the 3rd level for the two queen bedrooms.

There is a 77" Samsung wall hung flat screen TV with surround sound system and sectional seating on the basement level. There is also a book and video library on the basement level.
