The girl at the desk got me a room but could cancel my Expedia reservation. The desk tried unsuccessfully the next morning and advised me to talk with the manager Monday. Manatees, birds, we’ve seen a small gator in the past and this time, a lost dolphin. Also, the jumping, slapping fish are mullet and are very entertaining- especially when they almost land in your kayak. The canals are so peaceful and the river is beautiful. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to not have to eat out all the time. The charcoal grill is great for cooking fish from Trader Bay and steaks. The Italian restaurant at the corner is intimate and very good and now Boston style lobster rolls at the Hernando marina will be a must. Note that the Winn Dixie sells lunch meat that they roast there and get the Cuban bread and the deli pickles for sandwiches better than subway. Our kids have grown up coming to this river and kayaking. Every minute is peaceful and beautiful even during summer showers and we will keep coming back every year!"

We love both locations but the kids found swimming with the dolphins, manatees and in the crystal clear water as top notch! We will reserve this location again." - "This is such a perfect little place for our vacation. The cabin itself is very clean, stocked with kitchenware, a nice covered back porch, two docks right on the river, several options for kayaks/canoes, and a gas grill. We were able to watch two mamma manatees and their babies daily, a dolphin, blue crabs, fish, and a bull shark right off the docks. We had such a great week and we’re so sad to have it end. Can’t wait to come back in the future."
