The Roof Terrace has unparalleled views of a wide sweep of the Nile and its constant river activity, whilst below you may still see local life with its donkey carts and camels little changed for centuries. Behind is an extensive view inland with the backcloth of the mountains containing the Valley of Kings and other nearby sites of ancient Thebes.

From the front garden gate on river bank, steps lead up to a wide veranda. As you enter there is a well equipped kitchen on the left and a comfortable seating area on the right. A spacious hallway leads to two bedrooms, one large double and one twin, each with en-suite bath/shower rooms. A side door lets out to the surrounding garden.

A marble staircase leads to the first floor with a magnificent twin-domed sitting room extending across the entire width of the villa, with large windows overlooking the Nile. At one end is a comfortable seating area, whilst at the other end there is a magnificent inlaid table, easily accommodating 10. On this floor there are two more bedrooms, one large double, one twin, both with en-suite facilities, and a view to the Nile. On the roof terrace is the fifth bedroom and separate shower-room, a small kitchen, and comfortable seating in sun or shade.

Under the large open dome you can have full Egyptian breakfasts and other delicious meals served to you. Breakfasts include coffee or tea, freshly squeezed seasonal fruit juices, omelettes and pancakes, yogurt, freshly prepared fruit salad, feta cheese, falafels and local bread. If you choose to have dinner prepared by our chef, you will have a wide choice of meat or vegetarian dishes cooked to your liking. All food is freshly prepared.

Egyptian red and white wines can be ordered and gin and other spirits can be bought on the East bank. A general store next to the villa can supply tonic water, other soft drinks and snacks. Mineral water is plentiful and cheap.

Behind the Villa (separated by a narrow lane) is our large walled garden, with a 12m by 4m swimming pool, with jacuzzi, a partitioned shallow play area for small children. There are showers and changing facilities, with swimming towels provided, plus sun-beds and other seating.

Khyry, will be happy to advise and assist you, as required. He is a qualified Egyptian Guide and knows the area intimately. He can arrange transport in our 13 seater-minibus and/or 7-seater car, as well as river transport, including our own motor launch, Sirius. However, you will of course be completely free to choose how you want to spend your time.

In our view the information currently given by this agency "About the area" and Location (including the map provided) is very out-of-date and misleading. Also, we can take no responsibility for the restaurants recommended. We can provide an up-to-date map showing the proximity of the Villa to the places you will want to visit by road or river. transport. Following the construction of a new road bridge, the villa is now only 20 minutes from the airport. There is also a public ferry to the wonderful Luxor Museum.

Easyjet now operates a new service with direct flights both ways between London Gatwick airport and Luxor on Mondays. For many UK clients, this could be an attractive and cheaper alternative to Egyptair.

With the opening of the new bridge the journey between the Luxor airport has been considerably reduced. Note also that Karnak, Luxor temple and other places on the East bank of the Nile are most easily and quickly made by motor launch and not by road and Luxor Museum is easily reached by public ferry.

- "The house is stunning and comfortably fit our group of 10 students and 1 staff leader. The views from the balconies and rooftop were gorgeous, the rooms were nice, and we made use of the kitchen and pool amenities. The wifi was accessible in most, but not all of the property--once you stray into the garden or additional guesthouse the wifi drops. The house is more like a 30 minute drive to most things you want to get to in Luxor. Also, based on its location, it can be a little challenging to get groceries or have food delivered to the house. The manager was very friendly, quick to respond, and able to arrange our extra services. The tours and guides he set us up with were high quality and resonably priced. However, cost for services was at times a little hard to follow. Be prepared to pay for each service up front individually and in cash. We made the incorrect assumption that it would be billed at the end, so that made group payment a bit complicated as we had to collect our cash together before each service. Also, be prepared to be asked for a tip at the end for each employee: the manager, driver, housekeeper, gardener, and security. The staff did a good job, but again we weren't expecting to be asked for multiple tips. Overall, it was a great place to relax in between our excursions, and serves as a good option for a larger group."
