From the big verandah you can see the Brunswick River so checking for the tides is made easy through the french shutters. We do not meet and greet you when you arrive which gives you great flexibility for arrival time. There is a lock box with the keys and all the information you need inside the apartment. Other things to note
Brunswick Heads is a small fishing town on the river, approximately 15 minutes north of Byron Bay. There are some amazing walking tracks and waterfalls around, just head to Brunswick Heads Information Centre for information about all of the surrounds. We have a book called Byron Trails that details 50 walks you can do in the area.

Our house is pristinely clean and awesome. However, please note that we are located in a high density nature area (which is what makes this area so special), and with that comes more insects etc. We have bug spray should you see a little critter that scares you. However, most of these guys are friendly and harmless and are probably more scared of you (Yes I am speaking about the Aussie huntsman spider and mozzies). The house is fully screened and has aircon and fans.

- "Comfortable furniture and terrific views of the river. Enjoyable break with family" - "This was our first holiday in one location for a whole week in more than 10 years. The unit was lovely. (Next time will seek an outdoor area however) We were however a little overwhelmed by the Code of Conduct, in particular to unpacking dishwashers, accidentally leaving food in fridge freezer and rubbish disposal. As a comparison we paid less than 1/2 the nightly tariff paid for your unit last evening with no such restrictions. The last day text received further enforcing and reminding us of CofC obligations left us feeling more worried about our departure than enjoying our last day. The unit is expensive and we had treated ourselves. I’m certain even a 5% payment to cleaning staff would leave the week financially viable. May I suggest you adopt a more positive approach ~ such as welcome to our unit or Thankyou for staying with us than the robust framework of rules that are in place."

A somber filled hand crafted cabin nestled amongst Australian native trees, by the beach + the river.
Hidden amongst the trees, you almost don’t notice the Byron St Studio from a distance. Clad with Japanese Shou sugi ban to help it disappear into it's natural surroundings.
You step inside to a somber filled wooden cabin where you can hear the ocean waves and the birds chirping.

The studio is in a little beachside village in New Brighton, which includes a river too! It's a true gem of the Byron Bay region, with many tourists not having heard about it.

A place to unwind, switch off from devices and just be.
Wake up to the song of a kookaburra and either go for a paddle in the river or a surf in the ocean followed by an outdoor hot shower amongst the trees.

Ride or walk to brekky at the local cafe yum yum tree just a 2 minute walk away and then home for a siesta or read one of the many book's inside. Light the fire at sunset and have a cosy night in or go for dinner at any of the amazing restaurants on offer around Brunswick heads, Mullumbimby or Byron Bay. Just 5-20 mins drive away.

It's only a 2 minute walk to the local New Brighton General Store with lots of local + gourmet produce and goods.
Every Tuesday morning is the local farmers market, almost in our front yard. Definitely one you don't want to miss!

We live behind the studio in a completely seperate house, where you will only see us using the driveway to drive in and out, and every now again when we walk to the beach etc. We do have 2 young boys who love being outdoors, but our yard is completely seperate to the studio which has its own garden area. We like to keep to ourselves and give you your privacy.

Only negative was lack of basics provided such as small shampoo or conditioner, no olive oils etc in kitchen, only 3 tea bags and 5 satchels of sugar. Overall very happy. This is a large architect-designed studio apartment only 500 metres from the surf. It is situated in a quiet neighbourhood but with a great cafe just down the road. The heart of Byron Bay is a 25-minute drive away and Brunswick Heads only seven minutes away.
The 40 sqm apartment, which looks into a garden, is air-conditioned and has a full kitchen, private bathroom and washing machine. The apartment is self contained and reached via a separate entrance. Parking is available in garage.

The space
The apartment is one long room with bifold doors separating the bedroom and living room. The bathroom is reached via a hallway which contains the laundry and oven and microwave. It is a large space with glass louvres and sliding doors which open onto the garden. Access is via three steps. The living/bedroom area has roller blinds or curtains on all windows, including the sliding entry doors which are tinted glass. The bathroom has one head-height window.
The garden has a dividing fence. However I am happy to open the gate on request if visiting dogs need more space.
The studio has an outdoor sensor light plus a light over the landing. Switched to both are located on the wall next to the fridge. It is a good idea to turn these on before going out at night.

Guest access
Guests will have access to my home's lock up garage but this is the only internal space that is shared with the rest of the house. Access to the studio is via a grassed pathway which leads to the front entry door via three steps and a small deck.
A section of the garden is available for guests to use. I have erected an internal fence to keep my puppy secure.

Other things to note
Pets: Guests are permitted to bring a dog (one only) upon application. I do not accept puppies (dogs under 12 months old) or dogs over 25kg. The yard is fully fenced and an off leash beach is located 500m from my property. Dogs are allowed inside the studio but are not allowed on the couch or bed.
Cats are not permitted.

Books: Guests are welcome to read the books in the studio while visiting but please note they cannot be taken home. This is my personal library and my private property.

Beach: The surf beach sometimes has rips so please take care when swimming. Chest high is safest unless you are a very strong swimmer.
