Joan organised for us to be able to get in because we arrived late on our check in day and suggested we go for the outside room (room 6) as it is more private as there were going to be some other guests with kids. The room was really big, had excellent air conditioning and DSTV (cable TV). The breakfast in the morning was really good and you can select exactly what you want from the menu the night before so its ready nice and sharp in the morning. The location is really good too, about 5 min drive from Florida street and between 10 and 15 to UShaka (the water park is worth the visit, not so much the marine world). The entrance is off the road so feels safer and they have plenty of protection on the walls and CCTV. We had a really lovely time and would 100% recommend."

Our beautiful home is situated in a quiet road in the Upper Glenwood area with easy access to Durban attractions. We are within a few hundred metres of St Augustine and Entabeni Hospital and a short drive to the University. We are an 8 min drive from the main Durban beach and a 9 min drive to the harbor.

Come through our lovely indigenous garden, up the stairs and then into the delightful Fox Inn which has recently been refurbed. Its a funky little space perfect for one or two people. It has lovely wing backed chairs perfect for resting or working in and a cute little kitchette with a one plate conduction stove top, microwave, toaster and kettle and all the bits and bobs you may need to cook with. And if its not there we'll do our best to help provide what you need.

The bedroom is wonderfully comfy with a queen sized bed and duck down duvet cover keeping you warm in the Durban winter and cool in Summer. And not to mention we have a great shower which is an obvious must.
You do have access to spend time in our pool should you want to take a dip but please bear in mind we have children who also may be using the pool too especially in the Hot Durban Summers.

There are 3 suites and 2 rooms, all of which are private and self sufficient, with fresh, modern decor. Each is independent and self sufficient.

They are all located around common courtyards, with lush, tropical plants typical of the east coast of Durban, & which make it a soft and calming environment.

Each suite has a double bed and space for an additional bed should a child under 12 be accommodated, as well as an open-plan kitchenette and living/dining area.

There is also access to a larger common area particularly suitable for group bookings when more then one suite is requested, and used for social, family or work gatherings- there is a fully equipped kitchen in this area as well as lounge, TV etc as well as outside table for dining in the balmy Durban evenings.

The suites and rooms are available for individuals or in group bookings if more than one suite is requested- please enquire if you are looking for a larger booking and we will see if we can accommodate. It is a wonderful design in that they are self contained meaning one can stay together as a group but maintan your own privacy completely.

The Forge (Unit 3) is a spacious guesthouse in a charming Victorian home in Essenwood.

Ideal for a couple or small family (sleeps 4).

This modern and comfortable unit will ensure you are well rested after a long journey, or even coming on business.

Free on-site parking is available within the property, the property is located in a cul-de-sac with 24hr street security. Electric fence as well as CCTV surrounds the house.

The space
The Forge is your perfect suite. It’s intimate, comfortable and stylish!

Large air conditioned room, queen size and two single beds, wardrobe, smart TV, bar fridge, kettle as well as a stylish en-suite bathroom.

Tea, coffee and sugar is available.

For longer stays, we can arrange onsite laundry and ironing with our housekeeper at a reasonable rate.

Daily cleaning of the unit is complimentary.

Unfortunately, there are no cooking facilities available.

Guest access
Guests are welcome to use the shared patio as well as outdoor furniture.

There is no designated parking bays so guest should be mindful of not blocking one another.

The house is fully lit outside and is quiet safe, there have been no incidents thus far 🤞

The place is centrally located to everything in Durban. The Atrium Mall (Overport City) is walking distance away from the property with a Checkers grocer.

An oasis located close to Durban CBD, the ICC and beachfront. Wowhaus Tranquil Garden and Courtyard Self-Catering Apartments accommodate 2 people in each unit, with the Courtyard Apartment housing a double sleeper couch.

Both units are set in a tropical garden with a secluded pool. Shops and restaurants are within easy walking distance.

Wowhaus Tranquil Garden Apartment is one of two apartments, set in a beautiful garden sharing the grounds of an old Victorian house.

Guests are very welcome to use the whole property, including the secluded swimming pool.

The Courtyard apartment is my second venture into self catering accommodation. This is attached to my garden apartment which sleeps 2 adults + a sleeper couch in the living area. I am currently completing a conversion of the first floor of my house accommodating 3 bedrooms all en-suite, kitchenette, living and dining areas all opening on to first floor verandahs.

Gem Of Manor contains 6 units on different levels of the property. All units need to be accessed with stairs. The Gem Of Manor has a community dining area and pool as well as indoor parking garages. Our property is monitored by CCTV cameras and street patrol. Each unit is self-catering and has fully furnished bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen has a full set-up including BBQ utensils. Air-condition is provided in each room as well as free high speed internet. Our staff is always on call and we are able to assist if it should be required.
