The setting is serene, surrounded by Mother Nature but also within minutes of Cape girardeau/ Jackson, Trail of Tears State Park , the famous Pilot House, the St. Louis Mountain Railway and local wineries.
This cabin historically was once part of the “Girls Scout Camp.” The cabin was originally the dining hall and it was later renovated to a studio cabin. As you walk into the cabin you will feel a cozy, rustic charm. The main focal point is the beautiful stone fireplace in the center of the cabin. There is a desk for writing, dining room area and bedroom area with a queen size bed and a daybed that can sleep an additional 2. There’s a bathroom/shower and dressing area with a full length mirror. A full kitchen is located right off of the living room. At the end of the day you can relax and listen to the crackles of the fire in the fireplace or sit outside and watch the deer pass by. There is also a pavilion that can be used for additional charge. Please inquire owner. When you do book our wonderful cabin you will have 2 options for a damage deposit, a refundable deposit and a non refundable deposit to choose from.

THINGS TO DO IN CAPE GIRARDEAU:
Here are a few activities you might enjoy while your in Cape Girardeau. If you and your family like to swim, Cape Splash Family Aquatic is the place for you. Cape Conservation Nature Center, Discovery Playhouse and the Missouri Wall of Fame also are some great places to visit.

Trail of Tears-only 8 miles from the cabin, if you like swimming in a lake and hiking, and history you need to make the trip out to the State park, This is where the Cherokee Indians were forced to relocate in which the name was giving Trail of Tears. Your only a few minutes from the Cabin to Cape Rock, a breathtaking view of the Mississippi River, if you are a hiker it's a nice walk to the Rock.

Isle Casino is only a few minutes from the cabin if you like the thrill of winning. Main Street downtown Cape Girardeau is a great place to go. Lots of restaurants, shopping, and playing only a few minutes from the cabin.

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS ON THE EDGE OF THE CITY - IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES TO INSECTS, IT'S VERY POSSIBLE YOU'RE GOING TO RUN IN TO THAT INSECT ON THIS TRIP. We can not control that.

Guest access
The Cabin is yours and yours alone when you book with us. There is a keypad door lock for your convenience for checking in and out. If you need us just call or text. We live just a couple houses away.

Other things to note
****Please note that there are no parties allowed on the property. Written permission must be obtained before having more guests than the six person property limit. Violation of this and the "NO PARTY" rule will result in a $500 fine. ****

I promise, as hosts, we are not as harsh as all this sounds, we just need to head off any potential problems as we have had unexpected parties in the past.

This is a residential neighborhood and quiet is required. There are no guests over 18 years old allowed to sleep over that are not listing on the booking itinerary.

Guests and Visitors must keep noise to a minimum as not to disturb the occupants of neighboring properties- especially after 11pm.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING HOUSE RULES:

- no pets allowed inside the property
- no smoking inside the property, you can smoke outside the cabin just away from the windows. There is a pot by the deck to throw away cigarette butts.
- STRICTLY NO USE OF PARTY ITEMS (glitter, confetti, etc.) - this is a big one. If glitter etc is found in the property we will charge an additional $150 cleaning fee.

If there is evidence of non-compliance with the policies stated above, penalty fees will apply. Common examples of non-compliance and corresponding penalty fees are listed below. The list is by no means exhaustive or exact. Management reserves the right to assess each situation differently and use discretion when applying damage or penalty fees.

$500 Evidence of party within the premises
$150 Use of party glitters, confetti that will result to extra cleaning time
$100 Evidence of pet on bedding or furniture or inside the property at all (plus any damages)
$70-$500+ Damages to lodging, furnishings, equipment, etc that must undergo cleaning or replacement.
