The building is reminiscent of eighteenth-century New Orleans architecture and was built sometime before 1883. The apartment is on the second story and is always being updated with new and exciting improvements. The 'Kage House' is located at 120 Broadway in the heart of the Old Town Historical District on the corner of Broadway and Main Street and less than a 10 minutes' walk to the 'Century Casino'. On Main Street you will find many fine shops and restaurants, or just enjoy the scenic area as you walkabout. This is by far one of the best places in Cape to stay!!

The bedroom is furnished with a new Stearns and Foster king size firm pillowtop mattress/bed and flat screen tv with viewing of the Mississippi River from the east window. The living room is furnished with a 'Lazy Boy' queen size sleeper sofa and a 65" flat screen tv. The apartment is fully equipped. Internet/wifi usage is included in the price of your stay.

We are continually investing in the historical building. In October the kitchen counter tops were replaced with granite, the bedroom mattress was replaced with a very comfy firm pillowtop Stearns and Foster mattress, and the kitchen window was replaced with a Pella casement window which allows guests to open for fresh air if they wish. Extensive brick tuck pointing was completed in November on the exterior. Future interior renovations are planned.

Directly across the street is a restaurant by the name of Minglewood. You can enjoy dining as well as a large selection of craft beers.

Enjoy relaxing outside on the deck with a river view of the Mississippi and the historical Old Town Cape dynamic downtown area.

- "We live in a nearby town but was looking forward to a friends evening while our teenage daughters hit the rodeo down the road. Everything was great, we sat on the rooftop until 3AM and had the best time! I was honestly mostly worried about road noise since I’m a light sleeper but the place was quiet and the mattress was perfect. We didn’t really have any directions for checking out so hopefully the start of the laundry was ok. Andrew was nice enough to recommend some local restaurants as we are not so much into chains. This may very well be due to them being real hard wood and the specific products used to clean them. 2. The steps to get in are treacherous! The are very narrow and go straight up! A few elderly relative had a lot of trouble getting in and it worried us as we were carrying in food and suitcases. 3. sent messages with questions that went a few days not being answered. You’ll have the entire basement studio to yourself. My neighborhood is quiet and minutes to all Cape Girardeau has to offer. You’ll have your own off street parking and your own private entrance. Your entrance is located in the back. You’ll have a short walk through the yard to the back of the house and your private entrance, but the yard is enclosed in a privacy fence and well lit.
There’s a small patio at your entrance with deck chairs so you can enjoy the peaceful back yard in the evenings.
I do live on the main level and check in is no contact, I leave you your privacy but I’m usually around if needed. ‘RING’ doorbell and and keypad entry system at your entrance for safety.

Spacious industrial style apartment in the heart of historic downtown Cape Girardeau with brick walls, large glassed in balcony that overlooks the Mississippi River, fireplace, and full kitchen.

The space
This is a unique property with amazing river views in the middle of downtown Cape Girardeau. It's close to the casino, excellent dining and unique shopping. The cabinets were made in the late 1800's and were pulled from a previous downtown jewelry store. The building was originally a hardware store built in the late 1800's. You will find a notebook with historical information along with the many places to visit and activities available in the area.

The bathroom and bedroom spaces are designed to be open to the main space if desired, or separated by curtains, if more privacy and darkening is desired.

Guests will have total access to the 2nd floor, which is the loft gallery. Access to the garage is available upon request. Only the owner and property manager have access to the garage. The front porch and parking is shared with the main-level tenants. There are four closets in the loft-gallery space. Three are the laundry, pantry and entry coat area. The fourth closet is reserved for the property management team and will not be accessible.

This urban style loft is centrally located in the heart of downtown Cape Girardeau. You will be doors away from fine dining, boutique shopping, and live music. This building was one of the original land marks of our river town. Make your reservations early to snag this location.

While the downtown is a top destination for our area, it does come with city life noises. The loft itself is upstairs from a restaurant/bar. You are also a street up from a functioning train track. This is also a second level loft. There are stairs to get into your unit and no elevator provided.

The space
This massive 2,400 sq ft two story apartment has a formal dining room, eat in kitchen, upstairs and downstairs living room with TVs. All beds are 10 inch memory foam, two of which are king beds, topped with down comforters and plush pillows. The apartment is part of an historic apartment building in downtown Cape Girardeau. With curtains open, the space is bright and welcoming but room darkening blinds have been installed in all bedrooms which are able to block out most, if not all, ambient light as needed. Walking distance to SEMO campus and the river front, the property is just under one mile to Southeast Hospital, a three minute drive, and just under three miles to Saint Francis Medical Center, about an eight minute drive.

This is Apartment 3. Entrance is up a flight of stairs to the left as you enter a shared courtyard. The main level is above a commercial storefront. As the courtyard is shared, please respect that other tenants may be sleeping at any hour of the day depending on their work schedule.

Two of the six beds are twin futons.

There is only one inaccessible area and that is a door upstairs which contains the furnace.

Free off-street parking is included in the rear of the building right by the entrance to the unit. Only one vehicle is allowed in the reserved parking. There is more parking available in the parking lot which is only a few feet away.

Electronic door locks with keypads are installed. Access code given separately. These doors will automatically lock behind you. Type in the code and click the unlock button and wait for about 2 seconds before attempting to open.

The thermostat is located in the living room near the sofa. The upstairs is managed by a separate unit controlled by a remote. If you are staying with us during summer months, please be careful with turning the temperature extremely cool as this puts the unit at risk of freezing up, and you without air conditioning!

There is a large blue dumpster in the parking area that you can use when disposing of trash. Please be sure to close the lid after adding bags and do not leave trash sitting inside or outside of the unit.

This home has two separate units, each with their own private entrances. This listing is for the main level unit, River's Dusk.

You enter the front door to River's Dusk and you are overwhelmed with the grand feeling as you take in the tall ceilings and flood of natural light from the large windows. The furniture and light fixtures take you back in time.

To the left is the living room, which boasts an antique fireplace, complete with green tiles and a marble hearth. Plush comfortable seating for 4 and a SmartTV with apps so that you can log into your favorite subscriptions!

From the living room you can walk through the French doors into the dining room where there's a ball and clawfoot table with seats for 6. Dining room is very large and would be a great place to entertain or break out the board games we provide and make some memories together!

Towards the back of the home there is a large, high-end kitchen with stainless appliances, Gas range, dishwasher, touch faucet, and extra deep custom cabinets with granite tops. Off the kitchen is a walk in pantry ready to store your goods for any in home cooking you may want to do. Laundry room is equipped with a clothes washer and dryer for you to use.

River's Dusk has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The front bedroom is a Queen bed along with a dresser and walk in closet. The back bedroom is an ensuite with a King bed, a dresser and a private lockable door into the only bathroom. Both bedrooms have new memory foam mattresses, closets with hangers, ceiling fans, and USB charging touch lamps on the nightstands.

The bathroom has the original tile flooring and ball and claw foot tub! This bathroom also has a separate walk-in shower. The main entrance into this bathroom is from the main hallway of the home.

Out front is a covered front porch where you will get the best views of the Mississippi River that River's Dusk offers.

There is a fully fenced yard that you can enjoy as well, the yard space is shared with the upstairs unit.

We provide a Keurig coffee pot along with a starter pack of k-cups, sugar, and creamer. The kitchen is fully stocked with all cookware items you would need to make almost any meal. Perfect for those who rather stay in and cook! The kitchen has an amazing view of the Emerson Bridge, especially at night when it's all lit up!

The living room boasts a big bay window with THE BEST views of the river! A comfy recliner is positioned in the corner so that you can view the River and the SmartTV simultaneously. We have comfortable seating for 4 in the living room. Sign into your favorite subscriptions and enjoy your shows on the SmartTV, or enjoy each other's company while having a conversation or playing one of the board games we provide!

You have your own private clothes washer and dryer in this unit for you to use while you're with us.
