Clean towels, updated shower. Small toiletries would have been a plus. I did have my own though. No tv's in the bedroom, would have been nice. Sharing a tv with grandchildren sucks. But again, no biggie. I would stay here again without question. Entire apartment was outstanding. And i look frwd to my next stay. And I'm sorry, I honestly forgot to take pictures. But trust me, this apartment is worth every penny!! You will not be disappointed."

This romantic and charming studio is tucked into the most valuable and easily accessible part of the Highlands. A short walk to the Douglass Loop or a quick skip to downtown... it's all very close by.

If you are a professional looking for a short-term/long-term situation, this is the place for you. I've been accommodating those coming to town for rotations, internships, contract jobs and more for the past 4 years.

The space
This is a private apartment with its own entrance inside a single family home. It's located on a quiet street with easy access to local restaurants, bars and coffee shops. It is less than 15 minutes from the airport and about 3 minutes to Bellarmine University.

I used to rent this unit by the night, but since the time of the pandemic, it makes more sense to rent to those with longer term needs. This apartment is connected to the upstairs - there is a door in the unit at the top of the stairs leading to the rest of the house. This unit, though very sunny and nice, is in the basement of the home.

In full transparency, the laundry is in the unit and everyone in the house uses it. It's never been a problem to share the machines. We will set up a schedule so that no one is disturbed.

There is a television and it is hooked up to a Roku device. Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime are all available. There is no basic cable.

The space
Full apartment - while the building is historic, the apartment area is completely new other than the exterior walls and floors. Upon entry to the apartment the living area is to the left with the open dining/kitchen area to the right. The kitchen features stainless steel appliances, dishware, and basic cooking pots & pans. Full sized refrigerator, stove & oven combo, with an over the stove microwave give the flexibility to book your own meals or warm up your take out dinner. As you proceed thru the apartment, the washer/dryer closet is straight ahead in the hallway, with the bedroom to the left and the bathroom to the right. The bedroom features a full sized bed (a smidge smaller than a queen), spacious double rack closet, night stand, and a tall dresser for folded laundry. Bedding is provided. The bathroom has a toilet, vanity with storage, and a tub/shower combo style surround. Towels are provided.

This historic mixed-use building , a two story brick masonry structure with beautiful detailing has been restored with updated corporate style apartments on ground floor, luxury apartments above, and commercial space on each end. The restoration of 511 Flats brought original brickwork, timber and metal beams and concrete floors back to life while adding modern finishes and amenities in the living, dining and bathing spaces. By curating the new and old, the original character is enhanced. Nearby Roebuck Square and Fountain Square Park help knit this historic structure into the public life of the SoDo District.

This apartment is HUGE! Three queen beds and Big Joe bean bag, will sleep up to 7 people comfortably! I think you will be surprised at what this little apartment has to offer; it is great for the traveling professional who would like a place of their own without paying for a costly hotel. If you're looking for a five-star hotel; they are out there with price to match. This is a small duplex, snuggled behind two houses, and sheltered by a large, shade bearing tree. It is 3/4 mile west of Frederica Street; the main street of Owensboro. 2 miles to downtown & 5 miles to shopping and a theater.

The space
We can accommodate both short and long term stays. The duplex is an older structure that has been renovated on the inside (we will begin working on the outside next year). One must climb two steps to enter and then all is level inside. The inside has original wood flooring in living room and bedroom; vinyl tile in kitchen and bath. A queen size bed is provided and a twin or futon could be added if requested. This size is good for one or two people; perhaps a little one could tag along. We are now working on a laundry for each side - this is a work in progress but you will have access during your stay.

Guest access
The driveway enters between the gray houses on the west side of Venable Ave. (1214&1220). There is a small sign "The Hideaway". There are two duplexes at the rear of the property and you will have full access to an apartment. Parking is in front of the apartment.

There is a laundry on the back side of each duplex which will be a shared space with the other apartment, if rented. Please note; these have not been renovated and are not complete. However, you are welcome to use them if you choose rather than go to a laundry mat.

Other things to note
Blackout curtains will be provided if needed for day sleepers. A safety, stabilizing hand bar is available for the bathtub if requested. There is a portable step for some of the apartments if needed.
