The cabin is newly furnished and extra cozy. It's well equipped with lightning fast fiber optic WIFI, Smart TV, a full kitchen, coffee bar, and an extra-long dining table. All beds are brand new and all linens are white. Outside you'll find the hot tub, firepit, and lots of rocking chairs and seating options.

There is a ping-pong table, corn hole boards, mini air-hockey table, old time record player, TV with video games and a DVD player with movies in the garage. Great spot for kids or to flip open the garage doors on a nice day and enjoy time with family and friends. You will also find an old-timey, hand crank, ice cream maker for your use.

Outdoors, there are lots of relaxing options from the covered porch, outdoor breakfast table, rocking chairs, and firepit. And, don't forget the hot tub!

There are several marinas who rent by the hour or day. The Shady Pine is located 1.5 miles from Browns Ford boat ramp. Plenty of parking and trailer storage.

We have two, adult-size KAYAKS for your use during boating season (April 15-Oct 15). We will also provide (2) adult-size life jackets,(2) child-size life jackets, and oars.

Please Note: Barren River Lake is at summer pool April 15-Oct 15. Our cove varies in depth during this time from 3' to 30' depending on how much rain we get and the Corp of Engineers. We are at the lower/fishing end of the lake, always good for kayaking during summer pool.

Our cove could be dry during Oct 15-March 15. But, still a great atmosphere and plenty of nature to explore.

Our cabin is located a mile from The Narrows Marina where you can enjoy boating, fishing and walking trails. Each side is 3000 sq ft with the garage set up with lots of games for family game nights. When you pull up to this Newly renovated log cabin you see a beautiful goldfish pond with a fountain and farm land as far as the eye can see!
This beautiful cabin Sleeps 16 and has a Large living area with fireplace and large kitchen. It has 3 full bathrooms, 7 bedrooms, 5 with queen beds one king bed and 1 room with two sets of bunk beds. There are smart TVs in every bedroom and a large smart TV in the living room.
Leading up to this home is a long gravel driveway with plenty of room for the kids to ride bikes and play outside with no worry of neighbors. This home is very private with the closest neighbor being 1/2 a mile away.
This amazing rental has a beautiful In-ground pool and a fire pit in the back yard. It’s a great place for some back yard grilling and hanging with friends and family. While on the back deck you will be able to watch for deer and other wildlife over the beautiful farmland that surrounds this home.

You will be able to relax in the cabin or go outside and sit under the large covered back deck or swim in the pool and on those cooler nights everyone can sit around the fire pit in the back yard. It’s great for intimate gatherings with family and friends and you can leave the stress of the real world behind you.

The pool will be opened during swimming season only. We will open it before summer sometime in the spring and close it after summer when the weather begins to be cold. It will be closed in the fall and winter due to the cold weather and it being outside. We will keep it open as long as we can. We are taking the current covid situation very seriously when cleaning this home Lysol is sprayed inside on everything all furniture door handles and light switches and all cleaning supplies used kills 99.9% of germs. For Security, Theft, and Liability Insurance purposes we do have Security cameras up on the outside of the cabin. For your privacy there are NO cameras inside the cabin.

If you are staying during the swimming season and the pool is open either myself or my husband will come one time every day or every other day to check the filter, check the levels of the pool and do any cleaning to the pool that is needed to keep it safe and clean for your family.

1. What Linens are included? – We provide linens for beds, bath towels, hand towels, and wash cloths.

2. What household supplies are provided? – We provide you with toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher detergent, trash bags, and laundry pods. Depending on the length of your stay, you may need to purchase additional items when the initial supply runs out.

3. What does the kitchen include? –The kitchen is stocked with everything you would expect in a normal kitchen. Basic pots and pans a crock pot, mixer, toaster and a standard coffee maker

4. Do you provide a grill? – Yes. There is a gas grill between the back deck and fireplace.

5. Do you provide firewood? – Yes always for the fire pit and when the fireplace indoors is in season we provide wood for that also. You may want to bring extra or you can purchase extra from us if you run out

6. Do you allow pets? - NO. We do not allow any pets in the home at all no exceptions on this rule.

7. Is the pool heated? - no but it is in an open field and warms up pretty quickly during the summer months

8. Is the a pool private? – Yes! Your family will be the only ones using the pool during your stay

9. What time is check-in and check-out? – You may check in any time after 4:00 PM and you must checkout by 11:00 AM on the day of your departure.

10. Is this cabin secluded? – Yes the home is surrounded by 115 acres of beautiful farmland and the nearest neighbor is 1/2 mile up the road.

11. What TV package / channels do you provide? – We provide Hulu plus with live tv and Roku tv.

12. What type of internet to you provide? – We provide unlimited high speed internet with no passcode to connect

13. I’m trying to book but it won’t let me. What’s wrong? - Most problems are with your credit card company not allowing the charge. Please contact them first. Also, please ensure you have a verified ID on file.

How are the beds arranged in the cabin? - main level has master bedroom with king bed and private full bath also on main level are two bedrooms both with queen beds and a full bathroom between them. The second level has 3 bedrooms with queen beds and 1 bedroom with two sets of bunk beds sleeping 4 people total in that room and there is also a full bathroom on this level.

Our rustic, hand-hewn log cabin is the perfect retreat for anyone needing a break from the mad rush of life without sacrificing the comforts of home. Surround yourself with the chirping of birds, the croak of frogs, and the song of the wind blowing through the trees. Spy on wildlife as they make their way down to the lake for a drink, or wend your way down the path to your own private shallow swimming beach and dock. Search for fossils along the beach, toss a line in for fish, or hop in your boat for a casual float around the lake.

Your closest neighbors lie across the lake, but you are still close to the conveniences of Walnut Creek Marina and Boat drop, and you are still within 5 miles of downtown Scottsville and the entrance to the Barren River State Park.

The accommodations include a 720 square foot cabin and a totally private acre of lake fronted forest. The cabin has one large bedroom area upstairs, featuring a queen size bed and a day bed with a trundle. We have one bathroom with a shower and tub. The small kitchen features full size appliances, and everything you need to cook and serve your meals. The main living area features leather and antique furniture, a stone fireplace with a propane log fire, a TV with basic cable, and high speed WIFI. There is a screened in balcony off the bedroom perfect for your morning coffee or evening reading nook, a wood deck off the back with year round views of the water (lake view from April through late October, creek view through the winter).

This is the perfect spot for a small family, a couple seeking a private week away, artists or authors seeking inspiration and solitude, or anyone just needing to get back in touch with nature.

We do not, however, recommend this rental for anyone with mobility limitations as there are rocky steps, stairs inside, and an unimproved forest trail down to access the lake.

Serentiy by the Lake is a beautifully crafted cypress log home peacefully tucked away on 4 wooded acres with direct access to a quiet cove on the south end of Barren River Lake and only a mile away from Browns Ford boat ramp.

The first bedroom with queen bed is conveniently located on the first floor with private bath and direct access to the main living area, private office space, and outside deck. Large loft area makes it great for kids or large gatherings! You are 4 miles from Barren River State park and only 33 miles away from Mammoth Cave National Park. There are so many other cool places to visit, if just relaxing on the deck in nature’s beauty should get old. 😊

This home had plenty of space, and we enjoyed meals around the large downstairs table, cards and board games around the smaller upstairs table, games in the yard, s'mores around the fire pit, hanging out in the front porch to chat and watch the horse across the road. We spent a day at Mammoth Caves national park, and spent most days at the state park just a short 8 minute drive away, where we enjoyed the beach, tennis, volleyball, basketball, and long hikes."

Home is fully equipped with WIFI and has a stunning outdoor living space overlooking Barren River Lake with Brownsford Boat Ramp only one-tenth of a mile away. The lake is over 10,000 acres and is ideal for fishing and water sports. It also has multiple marinas that offer boat rentals of all sorts.

This home is a quiet and restful retreat from all the hustle and bustle!

For the remainder of 2021, there could be staff from Barefoot Republic Camp (the camping ministry that owns Lakeview Lodge that is on an adjacent property) staying in the apartment next door. These staff do not have access to Lakeview Lodge, will respect the privacy of all guests and primarily use the apartment at night. Please contact your host with any questions or concerns. There are several nearby opportunities for adventures! Public golf courses, Barren River State Park (beach area for kids, tennis courts, 18 hole golf course, horseback and miles of trails), Kenny's Cheese Farm, Farmer's Market on Thursday in nearly Scottsville (home of the first Dollar General), The Lavender Farm, lots of small antique and yard art places and a thriving Mennonite community are within 10 miles.

If you would like to venture out a little further, Bowling Green is 36 miles away and has all major restaurants, movies and all sorts of attractions including: Jackson's Orchard (largest orchard in south central KY), The Corvette Museum, SKYPAC - performing arts, Spillway Bar and Grill, Beech Bend Park (water park, roller coasters, race track, etc.), Drake's Creek - canoe drop, Lost River Cave with Zipline Tours, boat tours and butterfly habitat. If you would like to venture out any further you can visit: Mammoth Cave (45 mi), Horse Cave and Dinosaur City (39 mi), Maker's Mark Distillery and Gethsemani Monastery (approximately 2 hours away - Great Day Trip). Of course, we are only 1:15 from all of the fun and excitement of Nashville, TN (70 miles).

- "Cool, older property with a freshish interior rehab. Right on the lake but LOTS of steps to get down to it. A fresh deck and stairs makes it nice. Multiple decks for chillin' and good fishing right off the docks The property owners and neighbors are super cool about letting your kids swim and use the floaties, kayaks, etc. Property owner was excellent with questions. Only feedback is the interior details need some attention: just little stuff like the toilet paper holder and towel racks need to be re-tightened and perhaps mounted better. Nothing broke but some of these fell apart and just needed re-assembeled and or tightened up a bit. same with the dinning room chairs - just older chairs needing some re-gluing and or screws to tighten them up. Aside from these VERY MINOR issues - 9/10! Would highly recomend!!"
