Please be advised Nolin Lake is owned by the US Corp of Engineers and is used for flood control. Lake access is best during the summer as the Corp lowers the lake (25 / 30 feet) starting late October. Due to the flood control aspect of the lake, the walk up and down to the water can be steep and some guest might find it difficult.

There is a boat ramp 1/4 mile away that you can launch and recover your boat very easily with parking at the ramp (parking can be limited on weekends).
Swimming is available off the shoreline, or at the boat ramp, or one of the nearby public beaches (Nolin Lake State Park).

The neighborhood has a community boat ramp about 1/2 mile away where you can launch and recover your boat easily and a couple of marinas on the lake.

This is the perfect place to enjoy a quiet getaway without the busyness of the city! In case you forget something, there are several local mini markets (Webb’s and Sailings) close by and a Dollar General Market about 10 minutes (5 miles) away. One of the local Amish stores has amazing donuts on Saturday mornings and a Walmart is just 30 minutes away in Leitchfield.

Which makes the lake inaccessible during winter months. During rainy seasons the lake has been known to go 25 ft above summer pool. Also making the lake hard to access. We try very hard to keep the access to the lake available but sometimes the levels change drastically and are hard to keep up. We do the best we can. The water levels can be checked at the Nolin River website.

Owners reside next door and the property has exterior security cameras.

Two dogs (under 50 pounds each) are allowed for a pet fee of $75/trip. Please be sure to add them to your reservation prior to checking out.

- "Clean and well-equipped cabin overlooking a small pond. Owners were very cooperative and helpful. Unfortunately, we had bad weather and opted to leave early because pretty much all activities in the area are outdoors. After we used our cave tour tickets and found out that tours for the next few days were sold out, it didn't make sense to stay longer. Definitely rent a cabin on the lake. We were on a very small pond, and it was not what we expected. The waterfall and trail to get to it are amazing and on a par with Hocking Hills State Park in Ohio."

The cabin was well appointed with everything we could want from laundry pods, to games and puzzles, to a well stocked kitchen for cooking. The kids loved the sleeping arrangements, one slept in the loft as he loved the caves and this made him feel like being in a cave. The other kid took the second bedroom. The lake was perfect for fishing and swimming. The fish are mostly bass, catch and release. We went to Mammoth Cave on 3 days for tours. We did the Historical, Wild Cave, and Violet City Lantern Tours. The wild cave is very demanding so be sure it's for you. The crawling was hard but about 1/2 tour was walking to place no other tour would take you! Note the county is dry so bring your drinks with you. And there are some smaller grocery stores around. If you want a big grocery store you'll have to drive 45 minutes or so. Just make a note of this on pick up supplies on route. We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely return for a future stay!"
