Please be advised Nolin Lake is owned by the US Corp of Engineers and is used for flood control. Lake access is best during the summer as the Corp lowers the lake (25 / 30 feet) starting late October. Due to the flood control aspect of the lake, the walk up and down to the water can be steep and some guest might find it difficult.

There is a boat ramp 1/4 mile away that you can launch and recover your boat very easily with parking at the ramp (parking can be limited on weekends).
Swimming is available off the shoreline, or at the boat ramp, or one of the nearby public beaches (Nolin Lake State Park).

In case you forget something, there are several local mini markets (Webb’s and Sailings) close by and a Dollar General Market about 10 minutes (5 miles) away. One of the local Amish stores has amazing donuts on Saturday mornings and a Walmart is just 30 minutes away in Leitchfield.

Which makes the lake inaccessible during winter months. During rainy seasons the lake has been known to go 25 ft above summer pool. Also making the lake hard to access. We try very hard to keep the access to the lake available but sometimes the levels change drastically and are hard to keep up. We do the best we can. The water levels can be checked at the Nolin River website.

Owners reside next door and the property has exterior security cameras.

Two dogs (under 50 pounds each) are allowed for a pet fee of $75/trip. Please be sure to add them to your reservation prior to checking out.

- "Clean and well-equipped cabin overlooking a small pond. Owners were very cooperative and helpful. Unfortunately, we had bad weather and opted to leave early because pretty much all activities in the area are outdoors. After we used our cave tour tickets and found out that tours for the next few days were sold out, it didn't make sense to stay longer. Definitely rent a cabin on the lake. We were on a very small pond, and it was not what we expected. The waterfall and trail to get to it are amazing and on a par with Hocking Hills State Park in Ohio."

On a great fishing pond, firepit, charcoal grill, and then A/C and good internet for the down times. I loved the quiet of the place and my son loved the fishing. The cabin was well appointed with everything we could want from laundry pods, to games and puzzles, to a well stocked kitchen for cooking. The kids loved the sleeping arrangements, one slept in the loft as he loved the caves and this made him feel like being in a cave. The other kid took the second bedroom. The lake was perfect for fishing and swimming. The fish are mostly bass, catch and release. We went to Mammoth Cave on 3 days for tours. We did the Historical, Wild Cave, and Violet City Lantern Tours. The wild cave is very demanding so be sure it's for you. The crawling was hard but about 1/2 tour was walking to place no other tour would take you! Note the county is dry so bring your drinks with you. And there are some smaller grocery stores around. If you want a big grocery store you'll have to drive 45 minutes or so. Just make a note of this on pick up supplies on route. We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely return for a future stay!"

This memorable place is anything but ordinary. If you're dreaming of a luxurious tent experience you've found it! A queen foam mattress with cotton sheets, mini fridge, coffee, and microwave, small charcoal grill, & dishes, hammock and fire ring, outdoor seating are included. Campground bathrooms are about 80 yards away with hot showers, parking a little further on. Sun shade & AC help with heat, but still may be warm during hot days. Night may be cool even with use of space heater when less than 20 degrees.

The obvious thing to do is visit Mammoth Cave National Park! Lots of hiking in park as close as 800 feet from the campground. Horses are welcome at our campground, we provide stalls and the Lincoln trailhead hiker and horse friendly. There are several cave tours to choose & you may want to choose a couple. We recommend getting tickets in advance as they do sell out. (Visitor center 20-25 minutes via Green River Ferry route call to check schedule, 40 minutes without)

Trail rides are provided at Double J Stables. (5 minutes) Advance reservation recommended.

Opening for the season April -November, The Blue Holler Restaurant serves up German and American fare. Bee spring PJs roadhouse. Bouys at Wax Marina is a fun lake view restaurant experience. Nearby Webb Mart and Forks of Mammoth Cave serve tasty fare in a country store setting.

The Feedmill in Leitchfield (35 min) has good breakfast & lunch & there’s a Mexican restaurant, mi Camino Real, that’s good in that area too. There’s also a Peddler’s Mall in Leitchfield if that interests you.

In Bowling Green (50-55 min) there’s the corvette museum & lost river cave tour if you’re looking for more to do.

Cave city (across the ferry 25 min) has tourist friendly activities including various caves that have been open since the early 1900s. Kayaking tours available down Green River. There are attractions such as Dinosaur World, Kentucky Down Under, & Mammoth Cave Adventure. A favorite stop for me is Leo’s woodworking as you exit the park toward cave city.

I recently went to a cave tour in Horse Cave called hidden river cave (40 min) which was kinda neat. They have antique shops nearby in the little downtown.

10-15 minutes away is an Amish town called Cub Run. They have a couple shops, the Variety Shoppe (equine& homegoods) & Detweilers, which has a small bakery and deli and everything from gardening to furniture. There is a separate hunting & fishing store, Crazy bears, next to detweilers.

Located in a small town community, this place offers tranquility and peace not often found near so many attractions. Minutes away from the Brownsville Boat Ramp, known to be a great exit / entry for kayaks & canoes. Spend a day on the Green River and head home to grill some hamburgers! The yard is fenced in and is shared with guests staying at the adjacent apartment.

- "This room was beautiful and looked just like the pictures! We enjoyed our stay very much!" - "I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this quiet, studio apartment. The place was very clean and all basic amenities were provided (towels, sheets, pillows, etc.). The bed was the typical memory foam-type mattress that most rentals have these day, and was comfortable. Keep in mind that the mini-fridge is truly just a fridge, no little freezer compartment. The location of the rental was right off Main Street, Brownsville, but it is tucked behind a much larger building, so you don't hear the traffic when inside the rental. There is a small, fenced in yard with a grill and patio furniture. It is accessed via a gate immediately off where you will park. I came for the Mammoth Cave tours and other local hiking. It was an easy 20 minute drive to Mammoth Cave National Park. It was about 30 minutes from Bowling Green."

We enjoyed our coffee on the deck with a view of lake. In the evening, there’s deer in the meadows. The cabins are new and well appointed and exceptionally clean. It’s an easy 45 minute drive to the visitors center and tours to the National Park. On the way we bought produce, fried pies and brick oven pizza at the Amish market, Peace Valley Market. It really was the real deal Amish and the pies were delicious. We also loved that the property was very dog friendly and my dog enjoyed the lake. After breakfast at a nearby cafe, we called and stopped to pet the Basset Hounds at Buck’s Bassets. We had a great vacation and we plan to return again. "

Make memories that will last long after the campfire is out. Enjoy the farm near Mammoth Cave National Park and Nolin Lake State Park when you stay here at Noble Pine Campground in our farm tent. This memorable place is anything but ordinary. If you're dreaming of a luxurious tent experience you've found it! A queen foam mattress with cotton sheets, mini fridge, coffee, and microwave, small charcoal grill, & dishes, hammock and fire ring, outdoor seating are included. Campground bathrooms are about 60 yards away with hot showers, parking a little further on. Sun shade & AC help with heat, but still may be warm during hot days. Night may be cool even with use of space heater especially when less than 20 degrees.

The obvious thing to do is visit Mammoth Cave National Park! Lots of hiking in park as close as 800 feet from the campground. Horses are welcome at our campground, we provide stalls and the Lincoln trailhead hiker and horse friendly. There are several cave tours to choose & you may want to choose a couple. We recommend getting tickets in advance as they do sell out. (Visitor center 20-25 minutes via Green River Ferry route call to check schedule, 40 minutes without)

Trail rides are provided at Double J Stables. (5 minutes) Advance reservation recommended.

Opening for the season April -November, The Blue Holler Restaurant serves up German and American fare. Bee spring PJs roadhouse. Bouys at Wax Marina is a fun lake view restaurant experience. Nearby Webb Mart and Forks of Mammoth Cave serve tasty fare in a country store setting.

The Feedmill in Leitchfield (35 min) has good breakfast & lunch & there’s a Mexican restaurant, mi Camino Real, that’s good in that area too. There’s also a Peddler’s Mall in Leitchfield if that interests you.

In Bowling Green (50-55 min) there’s the corvette museum & lost river cave tour if you’re looking for more to do.

Cave city (across the ferry 25 min) has tourist friendly activities including various caves that have been open since the early 1900s. Kayaking tours available down Green River. There are attractions such as Dinosaur World, Kentucky Down Under, & Mammoth Cave Adventure. A favorite stop for me is Leo’s woodworking as you exit the park toward cave city.

I recently went to a cave tour in Horse Cave called hidden river cave (40 min) which was kinda neat. They have antique shops nearby in the little downtown.

10-15 minutes away is an Amish town called Cub Run. They have a couple shops, the Variety Shoppe (equine& homegoods) & Detweilers, which has a small bakery and deli and everything from gardening to furniture. There is a separate hunting & fishing store, Crazy bears, next to detweilers.

The inside of the tent was clean and squared away- with cute little extras like supplies for s’mores! THE OUTSIDE

The outside and surrounding areas of the home are peaceful and serene. The house is located near a lightly used road with very little traffic that leads to Nolin Lake. The back deck is private, with no other houses in sight. If you are looking for a quiet retreat to escape to, you’ve found the right place.

Spring and summer are filled with glorious wildflowers and a variety of wildlife. As the season changes into different hues of autumn, the vibrant leaves provide a sense of awe.

It's within 10 min to Nolin State Park, 20 minutes to Mammoth Cave National Park (check Ferry), and 15min to Moutardier Marina.

The property has 3 structures. Main cabin with queen bed, sofa, kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, coffee maker, bath with shower, all stocked with sheets/towels/kitchen essentials. In between the two cabins sits a perfect pavilion for eating, hanging out, and taking in the beauty.

Beyond the pavilion is a bunk house (bath is only in main house) with a twin over full bunkbed and a double bed. Both structures are small.

The cabins are surrounded by nature with lots of seating for a variety of experiences:

-roasting hot dogs or s’mores over a fire
-sipping your morning coffee
-reading a book with sounds of only nature
-Picking Wildflowers or hiking through the wooded property
-Relaxing by the fire
-watching all kinds of wildlife around the property
-walking with views of Nolin Lake

THE OUTSIDE

The outside and surrounding areas of the home are peaceful and serene. The house is located near a lightly used road with very little traffic that leads to Nolin Lake. The back deck is private, with no other houses in sight. If you are looking for a quiet retreat to escape to, you’ve found the right place.

Spring and summer are filled with glorious wildflowers and a variety of wildlife. As the season changes into different hues of autumn, the vibrant leaves provide a sense of awe.

Cell service isn't great, but we do have a booster installed where you should pick up a signal in the living room and front porch. We will provide Wifi details ahead of time as well.


The cabins are private sitting off a small road. There is a charcoal grill for cooking outdoors (bring charcoal). The awesome fire pit area will keep you warm and cozy on the cool evenings and is perfect for s’mores. Bring your own firewood.

Settle down for the weekend in the camper of Mammoth Cave Escapes—the camper itself contains a Master Bedroom accompanied by a queen size mattress (a slide door for privacy). Beyond that door lies a kitchen stocked with an oven, stove, microwave, sink, a frig and freezer, and plenty of storage space. Hidden in these cabinets and drawers, you will find cocoa, coffee, utensils, plates, everything you may need for your dining purposes. Also, part of the kitchen includes a booth style table that drops down into a bed for the kids. Continuing throughout the modern, tiny home, the living room is furnished with two recliners that are capable of heating and massaging after an eventful day on the lake or in the caves. At the rear of the humble home are two cozy bunk beds spacious enough for two adults per bunk. Within this area, there is a bathroom complete with a sink, shower, and toilet. There will be no bathhouses for our campers! However, the inside is just the beginning—the true magic occurs at the campfire just outside. Grass as good as carpet cushions your toes and softens the path to your beautiful fire pit, surrounded by comfy, wooden Adirondack chairs! A grill and mini fridge are accessible for your use, if you’d rather cook outside and enjoy the rest of your day. No need to go in and out of the camper for your cold beverage or cooked food, this unit is equipped with appliances outdoors as well. We implore you to try our kind of dinners—a mood lit picnic table withstanding the weight of delicious meals and hearty laughter. There you can spill your exaggerated fish tales or illustrate the massive waves you hit while tubing!

Whether you enjoy cave exploration; trail hiking; horseback riding; or boating, swimming, kayaking, or fishing; Mammoth Cave Escapes harvests the best place to escape your daily hustle. Access to Nolin Lake is located just down the road at the boat ramp, where you can swim, fish, launch your watercraft or, my favorite, watch the sunset and stargaze. For your convenience, local kayak rental is available. Mammoth Cave is close to our Escapes and could provide lifelong memories for you and your guests. Brochures illustrating other various activities can be obtained upon your arrival. We also provide corn hole boards on the property for your entertainment.

Other things to note
Why are we a preferred choice to stay? That is simply because we offer many special touches along with your rental. Each night you stay, we supply you with a bundle of firewood to enjoy the fire pit free of charge. We provide enough charcoal for your lunch and dinner grilling. Also, feel free to indulge yourself with morning coffee or cocoa on us! In order to enhance your experience, the camper houses a shoulder strap courtesy cooler, available for your use, to aid in your daily adventures. Also, for further entertainment, board games, cards, DVD/BlueRay movie, and books for your pleasure all are hidden below the bench seats of the kitchen table. You can’t truly experience glamping without playing board games or cards inside on a rainy day! Furthermore, don’t hassle with condiments; we have individually packaged condiment packets: ketchup, mustard, mayo, salt, pepper, relish, and pancake syrup. As well as condiments to produce a luxurious dinner, cooking utensils, pots, pans, griddle, paper plates, bowls, solo cups, and plastic ware can be obtained from the crevices of the kitchen. Welcome to our serene sanctuary nestled near Nolin Lake and Mammoth Cave, where families can find tranquility and adventure! This updated cabin exudes rustic charm, ensuring comfort and room for up to 8 guests. With amenities like a fully-equipped kitchen, basement living & entertainment area, and WiFi, relaxation is inevitable. Escape the hustle and bustle and create lasting memories in our secluded slice of Kentucky paradise.

The space
Brier Rose at Nolin Lake features 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, large dining areas (both indoor and outdoor), and ample entertainment space designed for both adults and children. From the lower level patio, you will enter the main entertainment area. A reclining couch, 65” TV (with Apple TV, DVD player, and selection of DVDs), and an electric fireplace round out this space. Further in the lower level there is a table & chairs, ideal for card games and conversation. One of the full bathrooms is here as well. Washer and dryer are available for guests to use as needed. Due to space limitations in the kitchen area, a full size refrigerator & freezer is also on this floor to complement the smaller unit upstairs. Finally, the bedroom in the basement features a brand new memory foam queen mattress and frame with integrated chargers, new pillows, and closet space.

Climbing the spiral staircase takes you to the main level of the home. The dining area is suited for 6, and we have a kids table with 4 chairs available as well. Off of the dining area is the primary bedroom, with brand new queen mattress, frame and linens. The kitchen is updated with brand new cabinetry and appliances. Off of the kitchen is the second bathroom. Finally, at the rear of the house is the kids area. The first room is the “fun room” which holds art supplies, coloring books, books, toys, games, an Xbox, and playful carpet for little ones. Connected to the fun room is the third bedroom, which contains two sets of bunk beds (twin over twin, and twin over queen). Black out curtains, a night light and a sound machine assure your little ones will sleep soundly and peacefully.

The property is roughly 1.3 acres although it is mostly wooded. We love the peacefulness and seclusion this location affords. Feel free to explore the property within its boundaries, but make sure to wear bug spray and watch out for poison ivy. Please also be aware that the gravel driveway has a short, steep pitch as you approach the house that requires ample speed to get up.

Nearby attractions include:
- Nolin Lake State Park (public lake access, with beach, boat ramp, campground, and 8+ miles of excellent hiking and mountain biking trails
- Mammoth Cave National Park (15min drive to Maple Springs trailhead, 20min drive to visitor center (***check status of Green River ferry; if it is not operating, you must drive through Brownsville to reach MCNP which is ~40min drive).
- Blue Holler off-road park (10min drive)

Two small grocery stores (Salings and DG Market) located ~15min away.

We have spent decades enjoying Nolin Lake and Mammoth Cave. There is so much to explore! Our goal with this home was to share that joy with others, and comfortably host 2 families with children.

Our driveway is gravel and has a short but steep pitch as you approach the house. With enough speed it is easy to get up, but guests are welcome to park on the grass or flat parts of the driveway to avoid the hassle and risk of spinning out.
