Please be advised Nolin Lake is owned by the US Corp of Engineers and is used for flood control. Lake access is best during the summer as the Corp lowers the lake (25 / 30 feet) starting late October. Due to the flood control aspect of the lake, the walk up and down to the water can be steep and some guest might find it difficult.

There is a boat ramp 1/4 mile away that you can launch and recover your boat very easily with parking at the ramp (parking can be limited on weekends).
Swimming is available off the shoreline, or at the boat ramp, or one of the nearby public beaches (Nolin Lake State Park).

In case you forget something, there are several local mini markets (Webb’s and Sailings) close by and a Dollar General Market about 10 minutes (5 miles) away. One of the local Amish stores has amazing donuts on Saturday mornings and a Walmart is just 30 minutes away in Leitchfield.

Which makes the lake inaccessible during winter months. During rainy seasons the lake has been known to go 25 ft above summer pool. Also making the lake hard to access. We try very hard to keep the access to the lake available but sometimes the levels change drastically and are hard to keep up. We do the best we can. The water levels can be checked at the Nolin River website.

Owners reside next door and the property has exterior security cameras.

Unfortunately, we had bad weather and opted to leave early because pretty much all activities in the area are outdoors. After we used our cave tour tickets and found out that tours for the next few days were sold out, it didn't make sense to stay longer. Definitely rent a cabin on the lake. Cute cabin," - "Myself and 2 older sons, 21 and 19, stayed here for 5 nights. This place had everything we wanted! It's close enough to Mammoth Cave and was far enough for some relaxing down time. The cabin was well appointed with everything we could want from laundry pods, to games and puzzles, to a well stocked kitchen for cooking. The kids loved the sleeping arrangements, one slept in the loft as he loved the caves and this made him feel like being in a cave. The other kid took the second bedroom. The lake was perfect for fishing and swimming. The fish are mostly bass, catch and release. We went to Mammoth Cave on 3 days for tours. We did the Historical, Wild Cave, and Violet City Lantern Tours. The wild cave is very demanding so be sure it's for you. The crawling was hard but about 1/2 tour was walking to place no other tour would take you! Note the county is dry so bring your drinks with you. And there are some smaller grocery stores around. If you want a big grocery store you'll have to drive 45 minutes or so. Just make a note of this on pick up supplies on route. We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely return for a future stay!"

This memorable place is anything but ordinary. If you're dreaming of a luxurious tent experience you've found it! A queen foam mattress with cotton sheets, mini fridge, coffee, and microwave, small charcoal grill, & dishes, hammock and fire ring, outdoor seating are included. Campground bathrooms are about 80 yards away with hot showers, parking a little further on. Sun shade & AC help with heat, but still may be warm during hot days. Night may be cool even with use of space heater when less than 20 degrees.

The obvious thing to do is visit Mammoth Cave National Park! Lots of hiking in park as close as 800 feet from the campground. Horses are welcome at our campground, we provide stalls and the Lincoln trailhead hiker and horse friendly. There are several cave tours to choose & you may want to choose a couple. We recommend getting tickets in advance as they do sell out. (Visitor center 20-25 minutes via Green River Ferry route call to check schedule, 40 minutes without)

Trail rides are provided at Double J Stables. (5 minutes) Advance reservation recommended.

Opening for the season April -November, The Blue Holler Restaurant serves up German and American fare. Bee spring PJs roadhouse. Bouys at Wax Marina is a fun lake view restaurant experience. Nearby Webb Mart and Forks of Mammoth Cave serve tasty fare in a country store setting.

The Feedmill in Leitchfield (35 min) has good breakfast & lunch & there’s a Mexican restaurant, mi Camino Real, that’s good in that area too. There’s also a Peddler’s Mall in Leitchfield if that interests you.

In Bowling Green (50-55 min) there’s the corvette museum & lost river cave tour if you’re looking for more to do.

Cave city (across the ferry 25 min) has tourist friendly activities including various caves that have been open since the early 1900s. Kayaking tours available down Green River. There are attractions such as Dinosaur World, Kentucky Down Under, & Mammoth Cave Adventure. A favorite stop for me is Leo’s woodworking as you exit the park toward cave city.

I recently went to a cave tour in Horse Cave called hidden river cave (40 min) which was kinda neat. They have antique shops nearby in the little downtown.

10-15 minutes away is an Amish town called Cub Run. They have a couple shops, the Variety Shoppe (equine& homegoods) & Detweilers, which has a small bakery and deli and everything from gardening to furniture. There is a separate hunting & fishing store, Crazy bears, next to detweilers.

The place was very clean and all basic amenities were provided (towels, sheets, pillows, etc.). The bed was the typical memory foam-type mattress that most rentals have these day, and was comfortable. Keep in mind that the mini-fridge is truly just a fridge, no little freezer compartment. The location of the rental was right off Main Street, Brownsville, but it is tucked behind a much larger building, so you don't hear the traffic when inside the rental. There is a small, fenced in yard with a grill and patio furniture. It is accessed via a gate immediately off where you will park. I came for the Mammoth Cave tours and other local hiking. It was an easy 20 minute drive to Mammoth Cave National Park. It was about 30 minutes from Bowling Green."

We enjoyed our coffee on the deck with a view of lake. In the evening, there’s deer in the meadows. The cabins are new and well appointed and exceptionally clean. It’s an easy 45 minute drive to the visitors center and tours to the National Park. On the way we bought produce, fried pies and brick oven pizza at the Amish market, Peace Valley Market. It really was the real deal Amish and the pies were delicious. We also loved that the property was very dog friendly and my dog enjoyed the lake. After breakfast at a nearby cafe, we called and stopped to pet the Basset Hounds at Buck’s Bassets. We had a great vacation and we plan to return again. "

Make memories that will last long after the campfire is out. Enjoy the farm near Mammoth Cave National Park and Nolin Lake State Park when you stay here at Noble Pine Campground in our farm tent. This memorable place is anything but ordinary. If you're dreaming of a luxurious tent experience you've found it! A queen foam mattress with cotton sheets, mini fridge, coffee, and microwave, small charcoal grill, & dishes, hammock and fire ring, outdoor seating are included. Campground bathrooms are about 60 yards away with hot showers, parking a little further on. Sun shade & AC help with heat, but still may be warm during hot days. Night may be cool even with use of space heater especially when less than 20 degrees.

The obvious thing to do is visit Mammoth Cave National Park! Lots of hiking in park as close as 800 feet from the campground. Horses are welcome at our campground, we provide stalls and the Lincoln trailhead hiker and horse friendly. There are several cave tours to choose & you may want to choose a couple. We recommend getting tickets in advance as they do sell out. (Visitor center 20-25 minutes via Green River Ferry route call to check schedule, 40 minutes without)

Trail rides are provided at Double J Stables. (5 minutes) Advance reservation recommended.

Opening for the season April -November, The Blue Holler Restaurant serves up German and American fare. Bee spring PJs roadhouse. Bouys at Wax Marina is a fun lake view restaurant experience. Nearby Webb Mart and Forks of Mammoth Cave serve tasty fare in a country store setting.

The Feedmill in Leitchfield (35 min) has good breakfast & lunch & there’s a Mexican restaurant, mi Camino Real, that’s good in that area too. There’s also a Peddler’s Mall in Leitchfield if that interests you.

In Bowling Green (50-55 min) there’s the corvette museum & lost river cave tour if you’re looking for more to do.

Cave city (across the ferry 25 min) has tourist friendly activities including various caves that have been open since the early 1900s. Kayaking tours available down Green River. There are attractions such as Dinosaur World, Kentucky Down Under, & Mammoth Cave Adventure. A favorite stop for me is Leo’s woodworking as you exit the park toward cave city.

I recently went to a cave tour in Horse Cave called hidden river cave (40 min) which was kinda neat. They have antique shops nearby in the little downtown.

10-15 minutes away is an Amish town called Cub Run. They have a couple shops, the Variety Shoppe (equine& homegoods) & Detweilers, which has a small bakery and deli and everything from gardening to furniture. There is a separate hunting & fishing store, Crazy bears, next to detweilers.
