Jim and Gina have made sure their guests are comfortable by stocking the home with extra bath towels, toiletries, and kitchen essentials. They even thought of little things like small throw blankets for the cool mornings or evenings, extra wine and bourbon glasses and a supply of coffee. They were quick to respond to any communication. The home is nicely decorated and very clean. Hadorns bakery is next door and is a must to visit and other restaurants are within walking distance. The back patio is a great place to relax after a day on the Bourbon Trail."

- "We enjoyed our stay in Bardstown. The house is located within walking distance to many restaurants, bars, and shops. We enjoyed The Volstead Bourbon Lounge which is only about a 5 minute walk. Check out Toddy's liquor store for allocated bourbons which is about a minute walk away. The house has a nice porch and outdoor area out back. The house was stocked with coffee, some bottles of water, and snacks - which was a nice touch. The only thing lacking for us was kitchen items - we like to cook about 50% of the time when we travel and the kitchen was lacking some basic items such as a large pot to cook pasta, sharp knives for cutting meat and potatoes, etc. but had a great selection of glasses. The host is very responsive. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would book again next time in Bardstown."

You may see a neighbor in their yard or myself coming in from the grocery, but your stay will be as private as YOU choose. Your room has keyless entry to make it even more private. Street parking is available, or park in the rear of the residence if that works better for you.

The Bourbon Cottage is a fully restored 1905 Victorian one story cottage with many modern conveniences. Located in the heart of Historic Downtown Bardstown, 2 blocks from the court square you are within walking distance to shops, restaurants, historic attractions, museums, pubs and great nightlife!
The cottage is a great place to come in and relax from the Bourbon Trail. The Master Bedroom has a queen bed with luxurious linens and a pillow top mattress. The second bedroom has 2 twin beds with luxurious linens.
There are several rooms to relax with Flat Screen TV s , expanded cable T.V. and high speed internet.
A fully equipped kitchen has stainless steel appliances; refrigerator with water and ice on the door, electric stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffee pot. The kitchen is stocked with dishes, utensils and glassware, if you plan to cook, please bring any cooking equipment you will need.
You will find a coffee station with Regular, Decaf and Bourbon Coffee along with several teas. We provide a welcome snack basket with lots of goodies!
The Bathroom has a shower and a double vanity sink. We provide Towels, a hair dryer, shampoo, rinse, and body wash.
There is off-street parking at the Bourbon Cottage in the backyard in front of the garage.

- "We’ve stayed here twice in the past three years and it’s great. The exterior is charming as is the interior. The kitchen is great to cook in, the bathroom is spacious, and the bed is super comfy! There is some street noise to contend with but we don’t find it outrageous. The location is just one block off the Main Street where the shops and restaurants are. The Scout & Scholar brewery is less than a block away and has a really lovely courtyard if the weather is nice. If you like hiking it’s just a short drive to Bernheim Forest. Margaret Sue is a very gracious and responsive host. There’s a large binder in the kitchen with plenty of info you might need. There is coffee and snacks waiting on the counter, and bottled waters in the fridge. We will gladly stay again!"

The Grigsby House is a two-story, two-bedroom, two and a half bathroom charming townhouse located in the heart of downtown Bardstown. This property is within walking distance from historic Bardstown's main street, St. Joseph Basilica, The Oscar Getz Museum of Whiskey History and overlooks the Kentucky Bourbon Festival and Bardstown Arts and Crafts Fair.

There is one bedroom upstairs offering a King size bed with a full bath and dressing area and a flat screen TV. The downstairs bedroom offers a Queen size bed with a full bath and flat screen TV. We have a fully equipped kitchen with coffee maker and wine cooler. Each bathroom has a hair dryer, shampoo, lotions, toothpaste, and soap. There is a washer and dryer on site. The living room offers a flat screen TV with DVR.

The Grigsby House has a one car garage with three private parking spaces. The courtyard is nestled in the front of the property and overlooks the Kentucky Bourbon festival.

Millstone Cottage is a beautifully restored 2 Bedroom -1 Bath Cottage 2 blocks from the center of Historic Bardstown. The cottage has a comfortable front porch to sit and sip morning coffee. The Living Room has comfortable seating with flat screen TV. The Master Bedroom has a Queen high four post bed with luxury linens and a flat screen TV. The Guest Bedrooms has 2 high four post twin beds with luxury linens and a flat screen TV. The occupants in the guest bedroom will have to walk through the master bedroom to the bath. The bathroom is a large room remodeled to feature a shower with a Garden size soaking tub. The kitchen has seating for 4 with a refrigerator with ice and water on the door, a microwave, toaster, blender, 12 cup thermal coffee pot and coffee grinder. We supply a coffee station with 3 kinds of coffee and tea. A welcome basket is included with lots of breakfast goodies. The backyard patio is a great place to relax enjoying your favorite cocktail under twinkle lights.

Located on the Bourbon Trail, you are steps from Barton's Distillery and a short drive from several other popular distilleries. Churchill Downs, Keeneland, Mammoth Cave National Park and other popular attractions are within an hours drive making this cottage the perfect base for exploring Kentucky.

This fully renovated home sleeps up to 4 people in two queen beds. The first floor features the master bedroom, living room, kitchen, office area and bathroom with a walk in shower and washer and dryer. The second floor is devoted to the second bedroom and a private sitting area. Local cable TV and wifi (for streaming from your accounts) are provided. You can enjoy the outdoors on our front porch or deck with a dining area and grill. Enjoy your morning coffee or a nightcap from our drink station.
Our home is located on a busy street. This causes some street noise which is a trade-off for the great location right in town. We do provide sound machines in the bedrooms to help with this noise.

Stay in the heart of downtown Bardstown, named one of "the most beautiful small towns in America". Just out your door are numerous restaurants, shops, family activities and nightlife. Located on the Bourbon Trail, you will be a short drive from several popular distilleries. Our loft is perfect for a Bourbon Trail explorer, a couples getaway, families and business travelers. You will also find popular local events such as the Kentucky Bourbon Festival and Arts and Crafts Fair just steps away.

The loft features a full kitchen, bathroom, sitting room and two bedrooms. One bedroom overlooks North Third Street with large windows to enjoy the view. This bedroom does have some street noise but we provide a soothing sound machine and ear plugs for your comfort. We have also installed blackout and noise filtering curtains to help with the street light and noise. This is an old building with strict restrictions on replacing the windows so the old windows do rattle some. If you are a light sleeper, I recommend sleeping in the first bedroom. The bathroom is attached to the first bedroom. You must pass through the first bedroom to access the bathroom and the second bedroom. There is also some water damage on the walls from water seeping in through the bricks. This is an ongoing issue with this old building that is repaired on occasion but then returns. This is part of the charm of this historic building. We want everyone to enjoy their stay so we want to disclose these potential issues so you can make an informed decision when booking your stay.

A cozy cabin within a few miles of several distilleries, downtown Bardstown, and many other local attractions. The cabin sits on 1 acre and is pretty secluded. Surrounded by mostly farmland, it’s the perfect spot to sit on the front or back porch and enjoy the scenery while you have your morning coffee, an evening BBQ, playing a few of the games we provide, or a fire at the firepit. There is seating on both porches and at the firepit. The cabin is equipped with all of the amenities to ensure an enjoyable stay. We are handicap accessible. The Bedroom has a large closet with extra linens, pillows, iron and plenty of space to store your attire for your visit. There is a washer and dryer if you need or want to clean your clothes during your visit.

Our journey began as a small family-owned operation, driven by a deep appreciation for the rich heritage of Kentucky Bourbon and the need for warm, welcoming accommodations in the “Bourbon Capital of the World.”

Our parents, Robert “Bobby” and Carol Simpson, recognized the growing demand for affordable, temporary housing as Kentucky Bourbon gained popularity. They lovingly restored and transformed historic properties to create unique, comfortable stays that provide a true “home away from home” experience. Bourbon Oak Smokehouse Cottage offers an opportunity to step back in history in the historic town of Bardstown. Located within easy walking distance of historic Bardstown and right in the midst of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. Our Smokehouse Cottage sits on part of a 3,000 acre grant of land awarded to Colonel Samuel Bealmear following his service in the American Revolutionary War. The cottage was built in 1825 as a wedding gift from Colonel Bealmear when his oldest daughter, Ruth married Joseph Brown. Colonel Bealmear’s wedding gift also included 950 acres from his original 3,000 acres which became the Oaklawn Plantation. The Smokehouse Cottage received its name when it was converted to a “meat house” for the plantation. You can still see the pegs in the large beams of the Cottage.​ Guest will have full access to the entire home. This is a historic building where we have tried to add some modern conveniences to offer our guest an exceptional stay. A king size bed is located on the second floor and is accessed by a narrow stairway. Additional guest can sleep on the pull out couch sleeper. A fully functional kitchen leads to a fenced in back yard with a beautiful view. We offer a washer and dryer which come in handy for longer term stays. Relax on the back patio and watch the sunset. Please note the bathroom is on the first floor.
