- "This place is cute with character and convenience. Everything was just as represented in listing. It was perfect for what we needed…a safe, comfortable place near downtown Louisville. The house had all the things you need but don’t want to haul with you when going out of town. The yard was great for our dog. Huge! The hot tub was great and roomy. The only thing was the chlorine was a little too much, it was strong smelling and the steam kind of burned your eyes. But I would rather it be too much than not enough in a rental. The bed was comfortable, although high for us short people, with lots of space in the bedroom for luggage and clothing. It was close to quaint downtown New Albany, with unique bars and restaurants, and yet convenient to stores and any kind of chain restaurant you could want. It was a wonderful stay and we plan to return and bring our friends. It’s perfect for two couples or a small family."

The Stone House has an unfinished basement and garage for storage, these are locked for safety purposes for families traveling with children. There is a sump pump in the basement, so you may hear it periodically run it's cycle.

This unit has a ground floor, street facing entrance. It features a complete kitchen with dining area, 2 full bathrooms, 2 Bedrooms, a large living room with wood burning fireplace, a full sized washer/dryer and a room safe. All of our apartments are stocked with fresh towels, extra linens, soaps, shampoo, cleaning supplies and coffee. The kitchen has everything you would need to cook with including some basic staples. You can access the building anytime after 3 pm on day of check in by using the coded keypad. We ask that you respect our home and the quiet hours of the community.
Each unit has its own private entry. The property has a fenced patio garden area with outdoor grill that is shared by all. Plenty of street parking available in front of the building. The Wi-Fi is provided for free and is shared by all guests staying on the property. For the safety of our guests we have motion detection security lights and security cameras on the exterior of the property.

- "Great for a weekend getaway!" - "Vcf" - "The property was nasty. Then the owner tried to scam us out of two hundred dollars by saying he smelled smoke because he seen my husband smoking outside. I had to file a dispute with the company. The owner is a liar, cheat and thief." - "When I arrived at the property it was not clean. There were dirty towels and socks on the banister, Mt. Dew can behind the door, ripped up carpet and carpet padding in the living room, used food in the fridge and cabinets, dirt on the floor, etc. I called the owner, who did respond quickly. He came over to the property and said I could move to his other property. After moving all my stuff I was told I couldn’t stay there because he had rented that side out. I moved all my stuff back to the other property. He told me I did not rent the living room part of the apartment. This made no sense to me as that was in the listing. When I explained that to him he was just like “oh”. He picked up the towels and carpet. As I looked at the mattress, it was dirty and had many holes in it. The chair in the kitchen was completely broken. The couch was pulled apart, and I had to try to fix that. I did not feel safe/comfortable staying at this property. After pay that much to stay there for the weekend, I decide it was better for me to rent a hotel room down the road. All this to say I would not recommend this property."

district and approximately one mile north of the Ohio River. DePauw Avenue is three blocks in length running east to west and is a narrow thoroughfare with parking limited to one side.
Houses in the district set far back from the street and have sizeable front lawns. The DePauw Avenue Historic District, an upscale residential area, was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in March 2008. Two beach cruisers are available for rent if you let me know in advance.

It was a great layout, very roomy and well decorated with a fully stocked kitchen and the perfect bedroom - very comfortable bed and quiet (I am a light sleeper, so this was important to me). Beds are firm but comfortable. Great bedding and plenty of pillows. Quality towels. Living room with greay view of the street and beautiful exposed brick perfect for group photos. Kitchen is well stocked. However, of note this is no toaster. We brought bagels for breakfast and had to imrpovise. We had some issues with lock box with key but, catherine answered our phone call. Her daughter has a ahop next door convenient to us needing some assistance which was quickly reqolved. I would recommend this property to anyone. Warning there is a steep flight of stair to get in. But very manageable. Some street and bar noise but this was expected with the location. Perfect walking distance to coffee, shops, and dinner. Host provided excellent list with qr codes for menus and websites for assistance. "

We go to the property at about 3:30 in the afternoon local time, and open the door based upon the instructions given to us by the property owner, and were surprised to see other people stuff in the apartment. Unfortunately, he wasn’t receiving cell phone calls, even though he gave us his number, because he was out of the country. He did however receive our emails and after a couple of Skype conversations, it was discovered that he was overbooked. He had two other apartments on the same property and thought one of them was available, but realized he was wrong I had to call us right back after promising us another property for the weekend. We had nowhere to stay after having booked four months before, and even wrote him the day before to make sure everything was still good. He apologized and refunded our money promptly, which of course made us have to go find a hotel in the nearby area so we can stay the two nights we had planned for the weekend. It all worked out for us, although our hotel room was 35% more per night than we were paying for the studio apartment in the town of New Albany, IN."

He was very kind and curious in explaining the direction I needed to go so I thank him for his patience. The resistance was clean and cozy. I saw my reservation was confirmed by the host, but did not open the confirmation message until a few hours later. I saw that right before the host had confirmed the reservation, he had messaged a little excerpt saying that at the moment, the studio room was self serve. He said that the linens and towels would be cleaned by the previous guests, and asked I do the same before leaving. Now I have no issue with cleaning and always leave my stays like I found them, however, from what he sent, it sounded like he didn't even check the cleanliness of the room in between guests. I know I can clean, but I also know a shocking number of people don't know how or won't. I really didn't feel comfortable staying someplace and just hoping the guest before me cleaned well enough, if at all. Especially during covid times. I always carefully read the description of my stays and there was nothing mentioned about this self-cleaning/self-serve situation. I wouldn't have booked in the first place if I had known. Furthermore, he did not wait to hear if I was comfortable or not with this arrangement before confirming the reservation. When I read that message later, I immediately messaged and asked to cancel as I did not feel comfortable with the arrangement. I was also still being charged a cleaning fee when it sounded like I would be doing the cleaning. He didn't reply that night, and since I was arriving the following day, I went ahead and booked a non-refundable 4 star hotel which ended up being cheaper than the one night in the room. He messaged me the day of saying that the last guest to stay was a long term guest and that he trusted him to clean and would be checking everything beforehand. I replied saying I would have felt more comfortable had I known this to begin with (although I still don't trust a strange guest to clean my sheets), and that I had already booked a hotel instead if I could please get a refund. He just ignored my request to cancel or get a refund once again and just responded with instructions on how to access the room. I called VRBO and they said all they could do was send an official cancellation request to him, and that if he didn't respond, to chargeback my card. In the end, perhaps he was checking and everything was going to be properly cleaned, but he failed to communicate the situation clearly and I did not feel comfortable staying and feel mislead."

Had this detail been mentioned in the listing, I would have continued my search and looked for a ground floor rental. The unit is sparsely outfitted, which is understandable, so be prepared to go shopping for supplies when you arrive. I would stay in this apartment complex again. I hope I can get a ground floor unit next time. Thank you."

Mid-Term Stay Prep:
We are a mid-term housing company, though we occasionally offer short-term stays. If
you’ve booked a short stay at a great rate, we’re happy to host you! However, please note:
 This property is stocked for mid-term stays, so we provide only starter toiletries
(one roll of toilet paper, paper towels, and a trash bag).
Please keep this in mind and bring your own toiletries when you come.

Maintenance Access:
 Annual Preventive Maintenance: Some properties have scheduled checks for
smoke detectors, HVAC filters, etc. We will notify you in advance if access is
needed.
 Emergency Maintenance: If urgent repairs are required (e.g water leaks, electrical
issues) and we cannot reach you within [X] hours, we reserve the right to enter the
unit.

Occupants & Guest Policy:
 The main occupant must be listed on the reservation.
 The reservation must reflect the accurate number of guests and pets.

Mailbox Access:
 Mailbox access is available upon request and is not guaranteed.

 Processing time: It can take up to 24 business hours to be submitted to the
property.
 A refundable key deposit is required (amount: $35). This will be returned when the
key is returned.

Community Guidelines:
 Respect shared spaces & amenities.
 Keep noise levels low during late hours to ensure a peaceful environment for all
residents.
 Dispose of garbage & recycling properly in designated areas to maintain
cleanliness.

The apartment features a Smart TV. There is no cable

Absolutely no smoking! If you smoke in the apartment or any interior areas you will be billed $300, in addition to any costs inquired for removing the smell.

Please note that we provide a starter packet of essentials for your stay. This includes:
Toilet Paper, Paper towels, mini soap/ shampoo/ conditioner, and trash bags. When these items run out you will need to replenish them on your own

There is no housekeeping service, mid-stay cleaning is available for an additional fee

Up to 2 dogs can say in the unit, they must be crated if left unattended, fully housebroken, and not shed excessively. We reserve the right to turn away pets at out discretion There is a $250 pet fee for the stay
