This part of southern Indiana is so unique. The view reminds us of our many trips to eastern TN. We never get tired of seeing wild turkeys and white-tailed deer walking across the front yard. Since we are a mile off the main road and at the end of the lane, no traffic passes by. Couples and families have enjoyed our cabin. With solid log construction and wood through-out, this cabin is set apart from others.

Families will enjoy the close proximity to the French Lick area (which includes bowling / mini golf / bike trails / go karts / indoor water park), French Lick Scenic Railway, Patoka Lake State Park (fishing / swimming / hiking), Marengo Caves, Paoli Peaks (skiing and tubing), Holiday World and Splashin' Safari, Wineries, Golf Courses and so much more.

The cabin has one large bedroom with a king size bed, a newly added second bedroom with a queen size bed and a queen sofa sleeper in the living room. There is also a cot and pack and play available if needed.
The kitchen is fully furnished, including a Keurig and Crock Pot.
The bathroom includes towels and washcloths.
There is a washer and dryer available for use.
WIFI is included.
There is a wrap around porch with outdoor seating to enjoy the sites and sounds of nature and a concrete firepit area to enjoy some s’mores and stars!

There is a security camera on the corner of the garage pointing at sidewalk to the cabin that is only used when there are no guests. This is the only security camera on the property.

Welcome to our home away from home! Located at the end of a short gravel drive, our cottage is conveniently located near many local attractions, restaurants and shopping. It is just 3.8 miles to the French Lick Casino, 5 miles to the West Baden Springs Resort, 6 miles to Paoli Peaks and 15 miles to Patoka Lake or Hoosier National Forest.

Though it is easy to get to, once you arrive you'll be surrounded by woods on your own private 5 acres.

Spend your day relaxing on the porch listening to nature, going for a walk in the woods or enjoying yourself sitting around the fire pit (free firewood included with each stay!) If you do venture out, you can check out all the area has to offer. There is a winery, antique and artisan shops, restaurants, putt-putt golf and much more to see and do!

When inside, you can turn on the flat screen TV to watch one of the streaming services or live TV while using our free Wi-Fi and included Amazon Firestick.

Our little cabin has a 4 person max capacity, including visitors. If you require a space for more than 4 people, unfortunately we won't be able to accept your reservation. Please note, the driveway is narrow and gravel. If you have a boat or a larger vehicle than a truck, such as an RV there is not adequate space to maneuver it up the drive or a place to turn it around so we ask you to find an alternative place to park those vehicles in town or at Patoka Lake.

A few things to note - given the remote nature of this property, there is not currently internet in the area. We are on the waitlist for Starlink and hope to have it soon. Cell service can be spotty in the cabin but I usually have 1-2 bars that is good enough for texts and calls. Other phone usage can be limited. There is one large hill on the gravel county road leading back to the cabin. I take my Ford Fusion Hybrid back there all the time so access isn’t an issue outside of heavy snow conditions (4x4 recommended then) but want guests to be aware of the terrain.

The owned and adjoining wooded property provides a retreat with local wildlife including chipmunks, squirrels. deer, a wide variety of birds, including cardinals, blue birds, robins, hummingbirds and owls.

Our family fell in love with this cottage the moment we saw the front porch, which happens to be our favorite room. We took pride in the renovation projects with the property including restoring the hardwood floors in the bedrooms (under four layers of carpet and glued pads) and stripping multiple layers of paint from the mantle. We left the original oil pane windows intact in the living room and front bedroom. They add a historic feature and decorative aspect to the home. ** Please note, due to the steep incline of the street and the distance between the back driveway and side door, this property may not be suitable for individuals who require assistive devices for walking or have difficulty with balance.

There are 5 suites available in the Estate House. All spaces may be shared spaces other than your private suite and bathroom. The kitchen is not accessible to overnight guests for use. We do provide a BBQ grill which you may enjoy using. Pool area does have power outlets.

It is a wonderful view no matter where you are. Dinner is a little tricky. We went into town both days to grab lunch and dinner, but it is worth it. The caretaker is a gem. She was so friendly and kind. She showed up around and was so accomadating. We spoke with another couple that was staying at the same time and they were kind as well. It was nice to be able to get to know people. However, the house and propety is so big, you can get a way and feel like you are there alone."

The space
The cabin is situated in a quiet setting where you can enjoy nature. Enjoy the expansive front porch that overlooks a wooded area. It is equipped with many essentials so you can feel like you are home away from home. You can take in all the beauty that Spring Mill State Park has to offer by hiking the trails or visiting the historic village in the park.
