Our log cabin was completed in July of 2010 on 7.5 acres we fell in love with the first time we saw the property in March of 2009. Call 812-726-4849, check out our website turkeyhillcabinrentals. This part of southern Indiana is so unique. The view reminds us of our many trips to eastern TN. We never get tired of seeing wild turkeys and white-tailed deer walking across the front yard. Since we are a mile off the main road and at the end of the lane, no traffic passes by. Couples and families have enjoyed our cabin. With solid log construction and wood through-out, this cabin is set apart from others.
This quiet retreat area is just minutes away from a wide range of activities. Guest often comment that there is so much to do. You can enjoy Patoka Lake with all its boating, fishing, etc. Go to Indiana's playground in historic French Lick, IN. Fisherman will enjoy the close proximity of 3 boat ramps on Patoka Lake with plenty of space to park your boat onsite. Families will enjoy the close proximity to the French Lick area (which includes bowling / mini golf / bike trails / go karts / indoor water park), French Lick Scenic Railway, Patoka Lake State Park (fishing / swimming / hiking), Marengo Caves, Paoli Peaks (skiing and tubing), Holiday World and Splashin' Safari, Wineries, Golf Courses and so much more.

The cabin has one large bedroom with a king size bed, a newly added second bedroom with a queen size bed and a queen sofa sleeper in the living room. There is also a cot and pack and play available if needed.

A few things to note - given the remote nature of this property, there is not currently internet in the area. We are on the waitlist for Starlink and hope to have it soon. Cell service can be spotty in the cabin but I usually have 1-2 bars that is good enough for texts and calls. Other phone usage can be limited. There is one large hill on the gravel county road leading back to the cabin. I take my Ford Fusion Hybrid back there all the time so access isn’t an issue outside of heavy snow conditions (4x4 recommended then) but want guests to be aware of the terrain.

We're defining the decor as 'industrial country chic'. Bright colors and comfort abounds. There is space for six with one queen, and two full beds. Windows are garden level.

This cabin is only 1 mile from downtown French Lick and is very easy to access. We are pet friendly and have plenty of property for nice walks in nature. There is also enough parking space to bring your boat along. Our fast wifi makes it great for those working remote as well as for additional entertainment when your busy day of tourism comes to and end. We have a great fire pit with a beautiful seating area as well. With comfortable beds, a coffee bar and ease of access, we are sure you will enjoy your stay!

Both bedrooms have queen beds and the front bedroom offers a unique workspace for checking emails.

Bird’s Eye View was built in 1915 during the era where two major resort hotels were undergoing rebuild and expansion projects. Nestled atop S. Virginia Avenue, Bird’s Eye View offers just that, a splendid view of French Lick Resort. We encourage you to take a peek at some of the coffee table books describing the rich history of the region. The owned and adjoining wooded property provides a retreat with local wildlife including chipmunks, squirrels. deer, a wide variety of birds, including cardinals, blue birds, robins, hummingbirds and owls.

Our family fell in love with this cottage the moment we saw the front porch, which happens to be our favorite room. We took pride in the renovation projects with the property including restoring the hardwood floors in the bedrooms (under four layers of carpet and glued pads) and stripping multiple layers of paint from the mantle. We left the original oil pane windows intact in the living room and front bedroom. They add a historic feature and decorative aspect to the home. ** Please note, due to the steep incline of the street and the distance between the back driveway and side door, this property may not be suitable for individuals who require assistive devices for walking or have difficulty with balance.

- "The Villas are right behind the French Lick Resort. Never knew they were there until we found them on VRBO. The scenery and views are amazing, as well as the amenities. The villas are very spacious with plenty of room for all. We didn't use the sauna, but that was a nice touch. The balconies are nice, as well. Renovated 400 sq ft studio cottage. Only 5 minutes from Paoli Peaks, you can see the lights from the backyard. A community park is nearby with a walking track and woodland trail. Property is located adjacent to an old cemetery. Rural area, within 30 minutes hiking, canoeing and caving. French Lick Casino is a 15 minute drive. There is a Ring Doorbell with video recording at the door.

And there is a historic cemetery occupying the neighboring lot. Maybe an issue for some people, but I actually found it peaceful and reflective."

You have full use of the tiny home and the deck. The garage has nothing to do with the rental. Do not park in front of the garage. The yard around the house is mowed. We do not and will not mow the entire farm like a city park for your dog to play. It is a farm in the country and the fields do grow and are cut for hay. WARNING!! There are insects and ticks on the property since it is in the country. Any time you are outside you run the risk of encountering insects, ticks and wildlife. Ticks do not live indoors. We are not responsible for any ticks that were brought into the home by a pet or person. Lady bugs and Stink Bugs are everywhere in this area all year long. You will probably see one outside or even inside. It doesn’t matter what you do in our area they still get inside. You do not have use of the garage. You do not have use of the farm. Renting this house does not give you permission to hunt on our farm. You will be turned in for poaching and trespassing if you decide to hunt.

This isolated, rural setting is great for a single or couple who want a quiet peaceful retreat. The apartment is located at the end of a 1/3 mile driveway on a 165 acre farm. The farm has a 40 acre crop field, 100 acres of woods and 25 acres of pasture land all full of wildlife.
The northern boundary presents a challenging hike to a wide creek bed with geodes and other treasures imbedded.

The space
Guest have their own deck with umbrella,table, seating, and use of a grill. They can walk over 160 acres and can be hiking through wooded area and creeks. They can also hike on a rural public road to John Hay Lake, a 300 acre fishing lake. Wildlife is plentiful.

This home sits on top of a hill in the woods. It is attached to our pole barn and it is barndominium cabin/home. It is about .5 mile off the main road on a gravel road. It is very peaceful and nice and feels like you are camping in the woods. We have a fire pit in the woods and you can access 1 acre of the property. Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. Each room has a queen bed and we have a queen air mattress. No parties allowed or over 6 people. Central air and heat.

The space
You will drive .5 mile on a gravel road to the house. You turn off of S Mount zion church rd and drive 300 to 400 yards on an easement road past a single wide trailer to get back to our gate and property. The gate has a lock on the chain it is not locked shut. You take the chain out of the slot and unwrap it and open the gate. I can drive it in our minivan with no issues. Drive slow as you start on the gravel road because it has a dip in the road. When you get to the top of the hill you can park right in front of the porch. Plenty of room to park or if you have a trailer you will have plenty of room. Please do not park in front of the second shop door.
The porch has a bench and a rocking chair. The fire pit has 4 chairs around it. When you enter the home you walk into the family dining area that goes into the kitchen. As you go down the hall The second bedroom is on the right and down the hall is the bathroom and laundry room. You have to go through the bathroom to get to the master bedroom in the back. It is like a shotgun style home.
You do have to drive on a gravel road and you do cross over a culvert for a creek and it is very important to stay on the gravel road. Reflectors have been put where the creek is located. You are not driving through a creek just over one on the gravel road. You are in the woods. You might see a turkey, deer, coyote, bobcat etc. with being in the woods you might find a lady bug or a stink bug. The house is very sealed and has been treated but these little guys seem to find a way in no matter what.
During the summer Indiana has all kinds of bugs and you are in the woods so stay out of the tall grass and stay on the gravel path in the woods to the fire pit.
We have marked the property with orange reflector sticks. Please do not go beyond those reflector sticks as you might be wondering on someone’s property. The fire pit is to the north in the woods. Feel free to have a fire and to use any wood on the ground from fallen branches or buy wood at a store in salem. Most gas stations carry wood.
We have provided wood in the past but unfortunately enough wood to last many months has been burnt in one weekend.
Please do not put trash in the fire pit. Next to the front porch we have bricks that go around the water shut off valve. It is not a fire pit and has bricks inside it and an orange flag. Do not use it as a fire pit please.

You have access to the entire home. Our pole barn is attached to the home. You do not have access to the pole barn. We have access to the pole barn from a man door on the opposite side and garage doors. We usually are not in the pole barn much as it is used for storage and if we do need to get into it we don’t need access from the home and would be accessing the shop area from 8 am to 8 pm. This is a farm property and we do need to mow and maintain roads etc. We can have heavy rains and if the rain messes up the gravel road we would need access to the pole barn after hours to get tools to fix any issues. Please do not go beyond the orange reflector markers. No more guest than what is on the reservation and No parties. If you have a party or more people than on the reservation you will be asked to leave immediately with no refund or a negative review from you breaking the rules.

Other things to note
We love sharing this home with guests. Remember you do have to drive down an easement road and it has a dip in it at the start. The gate has a chain around it and it has a lock on one chain link but it is not locked shut. You just take the chain out of the slot and unwrap it and open the gate. You can leave the gate open or shut it. Drive up to the house. When you arrive you will walk into the living room that leads into the kitchen. As you walk down the hallway the first bedroom is on the right. Down the hall you walk into the bathroom that leads to the master bedroom in the back of the home. You do have to walk through the bathroom to get to the master bedroom. Please read that again and don’t leave a bad review when we have pictures and described it multiple times. It is the way the home was built. The pictures show the home. Renting this home does not give you access to the entire farm property. It does not give you any rights to hunt on the property. You will need to stay on the gravel road and gravel area at the top by the house. You do not need to drive off the main gravel road and if you do and get stuck it is on you. You need to stay within the orange reflector poles in the yard and woods please. Thank you.

It is a farm and fields in Indiana. The entire property is not mowed besides when it is cut for hay. Around the house is mowed and the area you need to stay in please. Orange markers are up to show you where to not go past. It is a farm and we will not mow the entire property besides from the paved road to the gravel road in front of the house. The fields might have insects or ticks. You might hear a frog or a coyote etc. It is in the country. You might see a mosquito, grasshopper, spider, ant, opossum, raccoon, turtle etc. I can’t list everything and it is not a park in a city. The fields do grow because grass grows during the summer. If you want to play in the field you might get a bug bite or a tick that is up to you and a risk you take with being in the country in a field outside. It is in the country and a farm. We do not mow the entire property. We will mow around the house and most people are very happy with that. Thank you.

The yard around the house is mowed. We do not and will not mow the entire farm like a city park for your dog to play. It is a farm in the country and the fields do grow and are cut for hay. WARNING!! There are insects and ticks on the property since it is in the country. Any time you are outside you run the risk of encountering insects and ticks. Ticks do not live indoors. We are not responsible for any ticks that were brought into the home by a pet or person.

Aloft is located on the edge of the Hoosier National Forest, minutes from hiking trails and Ski Paoli Peaks. Located about 20 minutes from French Lick Resort and Casino, Patoka Lake, Marengo Cave and Cave Country Canoes. You’ll love the loft because of the country setting, nestled in the trees. The loft is very comfortable and offers peace and quite with a contemporary, calming atmosphere. The loft is great for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids).

The space
The loft is a separate, private building located adjacent to the main house Entry to the loft requires about 16 steps to an outdoor deck that offers great views of the property. The loft is about 600 square feet of open space. There is one queen bed and a queen sleeper sofa in the space. There is a fully furnished kitchen and entertainment space. There is a spacious private bathroom with tub and shower. The loft also has a washer/ dryer and T.V. with DVD player . Guest control the temperature with central air and heat.

Guests have access to the entire 7 acre property. There is a private lawn area and wooded walking trails. Children are welcome to use the playground equipment as well. Parking at the loft is generous and can accommodate a full size auto with a boat or trailer.

There is a very enthusiastic golden retriever who lives on the premises. She will bark to alert but is very friendly.

This cozy studio has a private entrance on the lower level of my home. A dining area welcomes you. The kitchen is equipped with microwave, refrigerator, gas range and oven, a 1-cup coffee maker and an electric teapot. Filtered water is available in the teapots and in container in the refrigerator.I can refill as needed. The mattress is queen size. An inflatable mattress and sofa are available for extra guests. A quiet patio welcomes relaxing in the woods.

This cabin is great for all four seasons. The area is quiet and peaceful. Although sometimes there will be noises from four wheelers/dirt-bikes in the area. This cabin can fit up to four or five people. Studio like interior with a cabin exterior. This place is very cozy and warm, with lots of nature around the area. It is also 15-20 minutes away from French Lick, Indiana!

The space is warm and cozy, very much a cabin feel. There are 3 beds total: a hanging bed and both couches are pull out beds. The space includes a kitchen, fridge, microwave, full bathroom, ceiling fan, TV, wifi, air conditioning, and heat. We added an outdoor fireplace! If you plan on using the fireplace please bring own firewood 🪵! There is also a grill to use outside & we provide some grilling utensils to use, if you plan to use grill please bring own charcoal.

Nothing has been missed in this NEW tiny cabin! Queen bed in the loft (please make sure you are able to climb the library like ladder), full bathroom, kitchenette with everything you could want, and a lounge area. As awesome as the inside is, we think you'll enjoy the outside even more. Swing in the swing, sit by the fire or grill the perfect steak in the outdoor kitchen…this is it... the place to getaway!

We have a sister property called Southern Grace Cabin. Both of our properties are secluded with separate driveways and entrances. You cannot see either property from the other one even with leaves off the trees.

French Lick is a great town to walk - mostly flat and the house is close to the historic French Lick Hotel. We are across from the elementary school playground so you will hear occasional laughter and kids-enjoying-life sounds over there during their recess. Park out front, though you are also welcome to park in the back off of the alley behind the house - either works. There are 6 steps to get to the front door, and they are an older "rise/run" - they will feel taller than today's construction, but there is a railing. The neighborhood is safe, but I recommend locking the house as a habit.

If you are into cooking, our kitchen is well stocked, just like home.

You may hear turkeys, see deer, and many varieties of birds while staying with us. Sit on the front porch for coffee or make memories at our fire pit. Our driveway will easily accommodate 2-3 automobiles and/or most boats. Guests are able to sign in to their Hulu or Netflix account. We provide Sling Blue TV package. You are a short, 10-minute drive to Patoka Lake.
The hot tub water temperature may still be in the heating process when you arrive. This is because we change our hot tub water before each check-in and if someone checks out on the day of your arrival, it takes several hours to drain, clean, refill, and heat. We provide hot tub towels stored in the laundry room. Fire pit wood is now included in your reservation.

The history behind this home is truly remarkable. Its foundation dates back centuries, originating in an old town near French Lick that was submerged to form Patoka Lake. When progress led to the construction of the dam, the house was dismantled and moved before flooding of the land began. The core structure found its new home where it stands. The ground floor and sunken living room were added to the original structure. Our aim is to retain the home's original splendor while incorporating modern details to create a more inviting and snug atmosphere for your stay.

The ground floor welcomes you with a cozy living space featuring a Queen-sized Murphy bed and a full bathroom with a shower. The TV area offers two large chairs.

Main Floor
Up the first spiral staircase, the main floor houses a kitchen that holds the charm of yesteryears. We offer a large toaster oven and portable stove top cook top for any cooking needs. On this floor is also a dining area, work space, and a sunken living room with an additional Queen-sized Murphy bed. The living room also offers a spacious couch and room for an air mattress if desired (provided for your convenience by request). Another full bathroom with a shower is conveniently located on this floor. There is access to a peaceful deck space from the kitchen.

Loft
Ascend to the third floor from the continued spiral staircase to a charming loft area with a King bed and two Full-sized beds, offering ample sleeping arrangements. We have safety gates that can be provided if there is any concern for the olden-days style of banister on this floor.

Outdoor Spaces
On the ground floor, beneath the deck, there's a spacious hot tub that comfortably accommodates up to five visitors, perfect for unwinding and relaxation. Outside the front door, a fire pit awaits, surrounded by a circle of rockers, providing a cozy spot for conversation. The gaming garage is available for some extra space and fun.

The Town
The cabin is located near downtown restaurants (you can walk to the local favorites), local shops, and festivities in the town. You can walk or drive to the nearby famous hotels for entertainment year round. It is a short drive to the local winery, golf course (photo included from their site), Patoka Lake, water park (photo from online search), mini golf and the casino. There are so many things to do in this town.

Within the cabin, have some fun and see if you can locate over 30 owls that are tucked into the decor.

Guest access
The entire house is included in the nightly fee. The garage is offered as a gaming space for hanging out- featuring a ping pong table, foosball table and air hockey. When the weather permits, the garage doors can be opened for some extra space. This area is not heated or air-conditioned so please plan accordingly.

Please take note of the historical spiral staircases when considering this home. Additionally, there are numerous stairs leading from the driveway to the front door. The gaming garage is not heated or air-conditioned.

With a massive bed (12 feet wide) and located on the banks of the Lost River itself, this suite is attached to a small home with full kitchen and library. Nestled in a patch of forest between the road and river, you will also have access to the full 29 acres and farmhouse of Lost River Hostel with trails, labyrinth, instruments, art porch, games, fire pits, and clothing optional swimming hole.

The space
The massive River Bed with a beautiful crane wall mural, our small library, washer/dryer, full kitchen, regular bathroom, and smoking porch. The house isn't anything special on the outside, but the beauty of the river (especially when it's foggy in the mornings) and the grounds are lovely.

Spacious 3 bd home has plenty of space for sprawling out. Central to many adventures. Take a short ride down the hill were you will see the French Lick Casino. Take a walk around town, grab a bite to eat. Stop in some shops and just enjoy yourself. There are two amazing golf courses, one being The Pete Dye Course just minutes away. Patoka Lake is 20 mins away. 15 mins from Paoli Peaks and 3 mins from Big Splash Adventure, Grocery 5 mins away. Also have plenty games to play !!
