Spend your next getaway or family retreat in the 'Old Hickory Cabin', located just 1/2 mile west of the quaint village - Nashville, Indiana. Beautifully decorated and well appointed, you will find this cabin has everything you need for a relaxing stay. It's close enough to all the activities, shops and restaurants you want, but just far enough away for you to have the privacy you desire.

Old Hickory cabin sits on 4 wooded acres with a large deck in back that overlooks the woods (and hickory trees) and a small creek in the valley. You will feel like you're in a tree house with the views below. It's a great place to bird watch and spot the abundant wildlife.

Just inside the front door, to the left, you'll find the living room is one step up. It features a 2 story Brown County stone fireplace, cathedral ceilings, wide plank pine flooring with hand cut nails. You will immediately notice the french doors that open onto the deck. While you're relaxing inside, you will enjoy amenities such as Wi-Fi, a 43' flat screen smart TV, Roku with Hulu and Disney Plus, CD stereo and a couch that opens into a queen bed.

The entry, kitchen and bathroom are on the main level and have tiled floors. The entry has a large wonderful 'old hickory' style coat rack with a mirror.
The custom cabinets are unique and have tin inserts in the upper doors. The kitchen is well furnished with cooking and eating utensils. The full bathroom contains a tub/shower unit, single sink, toilet and plenty of storage.

The upstairs bedroom has great views too. A brand new (2022) memory foam mattress, 'old hickory' twig style headboard and handmade quilt add to the rustic charm of this cabin. You'll find the cabin is well thought out and the 1000 sq ft floor plan makes good use of the space. Come and see why so many guests of "1078 Hideaway" return year after year!! Located in a private, wooded setting less than a mile from downtown Nashville, the Hideaway is a large, 1350 sq. ft. ground floor suite, with 3 queen beds that comfortably accommodates up to 4 guests. The suite has it's own private entrance, back yard deck, fire pit, covered parking spaces and large parking area.

The Hideaway's living room has a large 48" smart HD TV with a Blu-ray DVD player, Roku streaming box, and free WiFi access. There's a massage chair, plus both ends of the couch are recliners. Also, there's a beautiful gas log fireplace so you don't have to deal with the hassle of loading firewood. A pull-down Murphy bed containing a comfy, queen size Tempur-Pedic mattress is hidden in the wall. (Our returning guests often fight over who gets to sleep on the Tempur-Pedic!) Plus there are folding doors so you can close this room off from the rest of the apartment, allowing it to serve as a second bedroom.

The kitchen includes a stove, microwave, full-size refrigerator. And we provide a water purification system so you'll have plenty of fresh filtered water for drinking and for the coffee makers (coffee press, automatic drip coffee maker, and Keurig coffee maker.) There's also a large assortment of coffees, teas, and hot chocolate for your enjoyment. Plus we stock the Hideaway with breakfast snacks so you'll have something to go with your morning coffee. And if you're craving steaks or burgers, there's a gas grill just outside the back door (paper plates, bowls, cups, and cutlery provided). There's also a washer and dryer (detergent provided) if you need to do a load of laundry.

The large bedroom has two queen pillow-top beds with luxurious linens, an assortment of pillows, and a 48" smart HD TV and Roku streaming box. And the bathroom offers soaps, shampoo, conditioner, and plenty of soft towels for each guest.

Guests have the entire back of the property to themselves, which includes a large private yard with a deck, grill, table with chairs, fire pit (wood provided), and outdoor games, including corn hole. And we have a large parking lot, so we're trailer and mountain bike friendly.

SELF CHECK-IN: We have a self check-in process (No contact with owners, unless you want to meet us.). Check-in is at 3 pm, but if the Hideaway was unoccupied the night before, you may be able to check in early. BUT CONTACT THE OWNER *FIRST* REGARDING AN EARLY CHECK-IN to make sure it's possible. Electronic door code will be sent via text on your arrival day.

SELF CHECK-OUT: Check-out is at 11 am. in order to provide adequate time to thoroughly clean and sanitize the Hideaway after each stay.

Maximum occupancy is 4 guests. Children are welcome, but parents are responsible for the conduct and safety of their children.

Ample pillows, towels, and linens are provided, however we do not provide daily housekeeping services or guest meals.

- "We loved this property & would definitely come back. Maybe the cleanest, most organized house we’ve stayed in. The bed is comfortable (firm) And has a ton of DVDs you actually want to watch - perfect if you get a rainy day. They had full size shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. And lots of little amenities in case you forgot something. The location makes it easy to get around - straight down 135 and you’re in downtown Nashville in a few minutes. It’s very quiet. Densely wooded. And the house has lots of windows and natural light. It’s perfect for a couples long weekend get away. The host was extremely communicative and friendly and make the whole process simple and easy. Checked on us and made sure everything was ok. This is a carriage house so they’re on property - but honestly we never noticed. We were here in late June, so it was hot. The first night it was about 80, and with the trees & all the windows we actually had the AC off and were comfy. But the next night it was 90+ that day and the bedroom was hot. They do provide fans which were greatly appreciated. There is one wall AC unit in the living room - so understandable it’s hard to cool the bedroom. It wasn’t a problem for us - just be aware for summer visits. During the fall or cooler temps - this would outstanding with the windows open & a nice breeze."

During WWII, he served in the United States Navy in Guam as a Seabee, where he honed his valuable building skills in constructing airstrips. - "Clean and relaxing" - "My friend and I stayed at the cabin for a writing retreat. It was a perfect spot. The cabin was cozy, the kitchen was well equipped, and the internet was fast and reliable. The location was quiet and secluded (however, it was pretty close to the street, and many drivers went quite fast, so if you bring kids or pets, you need to keep an eye open). The hot tub was relaxing, and they had a great fire pit and grill in the front yard. The back porch overlooked the woods, which made it particularly nice. Plus, the property manager was incredibly responsive whenever we had a question (e.g., we had a question about the water level of the hot tub on our third evening; it was well after business hours, and they responded within minutes!). We certainly would stay here again if we had the opportunity."

Big Buck Vacation Cabin
Tucked away on a pretty country lane sits the cabin called Big Buck…a place where the nature lover will find numerous outdoorsy things to do. A small pond just outside the front door is stocked with blue gill, bass, and catfish for the fisherman who brings along their favorite pole. Access to Lake Monroe, as well as Yellowwood State Forest are also close-by. Located halfway between Bloomington and Nashville, Big Buck is well situated for folks who want to attend sporting events at Indiana University, as well as hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking in Brown County State Park.

Big Buck cabin comfortably sleeps 4 people within its two bedrooms and the comfy lodge-pole pine queen beds, all decked out in cozy colorful quilts. There is one full bath. One of the bedrooms has satellite TV and one has a smart TV with Roku only.

Each unit has one dedicated parking spot behind the building, accessible via Honeysuckle Lane (a one-way street running south to Washington Street). Additional free street parking and public lots are available nearby.
Keep in mind that rideshare services like Uber and Lyft are very limited or unavailable in the area, so plan to drive or walk as you explore Nashville. Most shops and restaurants are within walking distance, but if you're venturing beyond town, having your own vehicle is recommended.

Less than ¼ mile away, the Salt Creek Trail provides a scenic, paved path (¾ mile) leading to the Brown County Music Center, Brown County YMCA, IGA grocery store, and additional restaurants and shops in Salt Creek Plaza. Prefer to drive? You’ll be less than a 5-minute drive from the Brown County State Park or a slightly further–but still easy–drive to Yellowwood State Forest, Lake Monroe, and the nearby cities of Bloomington and Columbus.

This cabin has an open floor plan for a great place to gather with friends or family. Enough beds to sleep 7 people and 1.5 baths. Please note that there is very little privacy here with the spacious design but the beauty out weighs this fact. 31 day minimum booking required (due to local zoning regulation) for a steal of $50/night!

Cabin has all the comforts of home with heat from a gas fireplace during the cold months and an air conditioning unit for those hot months. Fully stocked kitchen with appliances and a washer and dryer are available if you need them. Plenty of privacy in this cabin in the woods.

Please note that we do not have internet service at the cabin but the wireless connection is great and hot spots work great there. We have put in a service request to add this service and plan to have wireless internet available Fall of 2021.

You wouldn't know you're just a 5-minute drive from all that downtown Nashville has to offer when you're relaxing at Casa Bella. A quintessential log cabin in the woods with everything you need for a perfect Indiana getaway.

The first thing you'll see as you pull up is a fully finished garage... a place you'll want to spend many hours! Inside you'll find a pool table, dartboard, tv, bar, fridge, and a cornhole set (+ heat/AC). Continue down the sidewalk to the covered front porch and the main entrance. You'll enter the fully equipped kitchen with enough room for you to prepare a delicious dinner (don't forget the outdoor grills, too).

The main level also offers a full bathroom and lovely family room with big windows and a wood burning fireplace. You'll want to cozy up around the fire for a movie night on our Smart TV or call it a night on the pullout couch.

Upstairs you will find the first bedroom with a king bed. You'll also find a desk in the hallway between the two rooms perfect for the 'work from homers'. At the end of the hall is the primary suite with a king bed and an on suite full bathroom

Saving the best for last, outback this cozy cabin has a screened-in porch and an uncovered deck. You'll enjoy the large private hot tub, fenced in backyard perfect for yard games (+ dogs/kids), and an outdoor bonfire pit.

This space is on the lower level of our home and has a private entrance from the outside. It is accessible from the main floor but is designated for guests only. No one will access the area during your stay. The bathroom is private and not shared by host or other guests. The Murphy bed is queen size with a memory foam mattress , futon becomes a full size bed if needed and is very comfortable. The space has a tv with dvd and movies. You’ll feel right at home!

The space
Nestled in the hills of Brown County, is our new, modern home with solar panels. We call ourselves Cycle Inn Brown County, and open our guest rooms for the cyclist, shopper and tourist alike. The lower level has heated floors, making it feel very cozy. The windows are large and showcase the beautiful outdoors. The bathroom has a shower with plenty of hot water! This space is very spacious with a living room, bedroom and kitchette area all in one. We are on nine wooded acres but only 1.5 miles to the town of Nashville and 2 miles to both the north and west entrance to Brown County State Park. You can relax and unwind while listening to the birds or watching the deer. Most cell phone carriers have reception at our place. Our guests have called our place a home away from home.

Guest access
Guests have access to a spacious patio with lounge chairs and an outdoor table and chairs. You will enjoy a very large living space with a recliner and a dining table and chairs with a small kitchenette type coffee nook. Breakfast items and coffee are provided.

During your stay
We live on the property and are either on site or only a phone call or text away. We give our guests the privacy they want or we are happy to interact. We usually greet our guests at some time during their stay and make sure we are available so that check in using the keypad goes as smoothly.

There are three designated guests area in our home so we ask that everyone respect one another with regard to noise. No smoking on property. There is a dvd/blue ray player and an assortment of movies.

Our home is in a quiet, picturesque residential neighborhood. We are only 1500 steps away from 200 unique shops! We offer a private entrance, spacious 1100 square foot living/sleeping room, and a one bath basement apartment.

We are within walking distance to many amenities such as the Salt Creek Trail and a two minute drive to the Brown County Music Center! We have streaming TV only. Our space is not suitable for children under 13 and we require ID verification.

The space
The lower level apartment is an expansive room that sleeps up to four guests and has a large private bath with walk-in shower. There is a small additional charge for parties of more than two. The apartment is equipped with a small refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave for your convenience. Your entrance at the rear of the house backs on to a private backyard with many trees.

Guest access
You will have access to the entire lower level apartment. As needed, there is a secured area for bike storage. As the home owners, we respect your privacy and will communicate check in processes via texting/email.

Please be aware that If it is raining or has rained the rock walkway to the apartment may be slippery. Use caution as you come down the walkway on the side of the house.

Things to know:

This unit is easy to access with keyless locks for both the exterior and interior entrances.

This unit is in a historic building and there are two apartments on the 2nd floor. The entrance to the building will be shared with the other guest as well as the hallway but no worries each apartment is completely independent from each other.

Once you are in the studio apartment you will be surprised to see how much we were able to pack into such a cute space.

A small kitchen with a mini fridge, mini oven/stove, microwave, and sink. Fully stocked with cups, plates, bowls, and cookware.

We also included a coffee bar with complimentary Folgers coffee, dry creamer, sugar, and sweeteners.

We have a small table to enjoy your meals or coffee at that seats 2 and an accent chair to watch TV from.

A queen bed that is perfect for 2!

Our bathroom is cute as it has a little miniature door that is true to its historic time but when you enter the bathroom no worries it’s full size. In there we have complimentary travel size shampoo and conditioner. We also have a blow dryer for our guest to use as well as towels.

The unit also has a large television with free YouTubeTV to stream and we try to keep the bathroom stock with the things that guest might forget to pack. These are yours to use while there but please leave what you don’t use to keep our cost low and for other guest to have in case they need something.

Our family runs and operates the business downstairs Acorn Cottage so if anything is missing or you need something just let us know! We are steps away!

Driving down the winding, gravel road leading to Cycle Inn, you will begin to relax under the canopy of trees. Situated on 9 beautifully wooded acres, the spacious guest rooms have large windows that showcase the wooded view. You will be made to feel right at home.

Your spacious private suite has a locking door and its own private bathroom within the suite. A settee for dining within your own suite sits next to a window over looking the wooded ravine. The space
This upstairs apartment has everything you need for a great stay in Nashville, INDIANA. Aka Brown County. Please note there are stairs to enter this apartment.

Open layout with a futon style sofa facing a 55” Smart TV. We do offer YouTube TV in our units for entertainment.

Dining table sits 4 and a mini kitchenette with a refrigerator, sink, toaster oven, hot plate, and microwave.

The kitchen also has a coffee bar stocked with the essentials for any coffee lover! However you may want to skip out on our coffee because the local coffee place, Daily Grind, can be seen right out your kitchen window!

The private bedroom has a large king size bed, 42” TV.

The bathroom has a shower/tub combo, blow dryer, and we provide travel size shampoo and conditioner for your visit.

This unit has beautiful vaulted ceilings, keyless locks, and the modern feel for a fun trip.

Steps away from shopping, food, drinks, and entertainment. This place will not disappoint.

Traveling with friends or other family? Check out our other unit The Chipmunk. These units are side by side and booking both would allow for you and your travel buddy to enjoy your trip together but also privacy at the end of the day.

Please note the thermostat is in the hallway. We have added space heaters and fans to the unit to give extra comfort if our guest find the temperature is not to their preferred comfort level. Temperature can be changed as well!

This is a 2nd floor apartment with its own entrance. There is another Airbnb on the same floor. Similar to a hotel your unit will have a neighbor with their own private entrance. Entrance and hallway interaction may occur.

Also please note our units are downtown Nashville and we do not have dedicated parking spots. We are however surrounded by 24/7 public street parking.

We are surrounded by 24/7 free street parking. We do provide dedicated spaces for guest. We will send out parking details with suggestions on nearby free public parking lots you can park in during the day if you are unable to get a spot right in front of our complex. Historically guest have said our instructions make it easy breezy no matter the time of year but please note this.

Cancellation policy

We are a small family business but we also are human and understand life happens. Our cancellation policy is to be fair to both our business and our guest.

We do offer a 10% discount for non-refundable bookings. This means you are confident in your date and stay. If you chose this option then it is exactly that non refundable and also non negotiable as far as moving your booking to another date.

Date Change Request:
It’s hard for us to change dates for customers as our units are heavily booked and we typically cannot transfer your booking to another date.

However- We are happy to review the request and try to work with you. We truly want your business and are honored when a guest has chosen to stay with us. So when life happens and your plans change we want to be as helpful as we can and we will do our best to accommodate.

Our pricing is set to seasonally. If the change in date that you are requesting is weeks to months out- the cost could be different. So please understand if we mention this if you are asking us to investigate changing your booking from a non seasonal date to a seasonal date. We promise we are honest and fair people and we promise to treat every situation as such.

Pets:
We love animals and we have them at our homes! However, we do not allow them in our units. This is an agreement with our cleaning help and is non negotiable as we want to respect our promise to them. We hope you understand ❤️

Large, private 1350 sq ft apartment in a peaceful, wooded location, 1 mile from downtown Nashville and the Brown County State Park. 3 queen beds (one is a murphy bed, in order to have 2 separate sleeping areas). The space
Since 2011, our guests have enjoyed all that "1078 Hideaway" has to offer. Located in a private, wooded setting 1/2 mile from downtown Nashville, the Hideaway is a 1350 sq. ft. ground floor apartment that comfortably accommodates up to 4 guests. It has it's own backyard, deck, covered parking spaces, and private outdoor entrance, so guests can come and go as they please.

The Hideaway's main room has a large 48" HD TV with Blu-ray DVD player, cable TV, and free WiFi access. There's also a massage chair and a beautiful gas log fireplace so you don't have to deal with the hassle of loading firewood. There's a pull-down Murphy bed in the wall that has a comfy, queen size Tempur-Pedic mattress, plus there are folding doors to close this room off from the rest of the apartment, allowing it to serve as a second bedroom.

The bedroom has two queen pillow-top beds with luxurious linens, an assortment of pillows, and a 48" HD TV. The bathroom offers a variety of soaps, shampoo, conditioner, plus plenty of soft towels and washcloths for each guest.

The kitchen includes a stove, microwave, and full-size refrigerator. There's also a water purification system so you'll have plenty of fresh filtered water for drinking and for the coffee press, coffee maker, and Keurig coffee machine. A large assortment of coffees, teas, and hot chocolate is set out for your enjoyment, plus we stock the Hideaway with breakfast snacks so you'll have something to go with your morning coffee. And if you're in the mood to cook up some steaks or burgers, there's a gas grill just outside the back door (paper plates, bowls, cups, and cutlery provided). Plus there's a washer and dryer (detergent provided) if you need to do a load of laundry.

Guests have the entire back of the property to themselves, which includes a large private yard with a deck, grill, table with chairs, fire pit (wood provided), and outdoor games, including corn hole. And we have a large parking lot, so we're trailer and mountain bike friendly.

The Hideaway is perfect for a romantic retreat, a 'Girl's Shopping Weekend', or a family getaway! Enjoy peaceful mornings outside on the suite's large deck, sipping coffee and watching the finch, woodpecker, and hummingbird feeders. And in the evening, grab a sweater and gather around a bonfire in the fire pit or pour yourself a glass of wine and enjoy the warmth and convenience of the living room's gas log fireplace. And the Hideaway is kid and family-friendly! Explore the shelves filled with playing cards and board games or go outside and enjoy the huge yard.

We're located less than 1/2 mile from downtown Nashville, where you can spend the day shopping, browsing art galleries, and tasting the local cuisine. One mile to the east is Brown County State Park, with its hiking and biking trails, lakes, picnic areas, swimming pools, and horseback riding. "eXplore Brown County" zip lines and the Salt Creek Golf Course are a quick drive from the house. Columbus and the Edinburgh Premium Outlets are only a 25 minute drive to the east. Lake Monroe and Bloomington (IU) are a short 30 minute drive to the west! There's lots close by to enjoy!

SELF CHECK-IN: We have a self check-in process (No contact with owners, unless you want to meet us.). Check-in is at 3 pm. If the Hideaway was unoccupied the night before, you *may* be able to check in early, BUT CONTACT THE OWNER *FIRST* REGARDING AN EARLY CHECK-IN!

SELF CHECK-OUT: Check-out is at 11 am. in order to give us adequate time to thoroughly clean and sanitize the Hideaway after your stay.

We take great joy in ensuring that the Hideaway is a clean, relaxing, and welcoming place for our guests. And we ask our guests to show their appreciation by making every effort to treat the property with care and respect, leaving it as reasonably clean as possible at check out. This allows us plenty of time to get the suite ready for the next guest, while also helping us keep our cleaning fees low. Thank you for your cooperation.

Dogs welcome! The property is a pet-friendly setting with a large yard to walk the pet.
The Guest Suite in this historic home is the entire 2nd floor. It does require going up 15 steps to the unit.
The downstairs area of the house has some public spaces that include a gift shop and mini museum open from 12noon-5pm. The public will not have access to the Guest Suite. The proprietor is also on property downstairs.
The Guest Suite is comprised of 2 roomy bedrooms each with one Queen sized bed.
The Game Room Parlor has an optional cot for 5th person if requested.
The Parlor also offers a mini kitchen that includes a microwave, coffeemaker, mini-fridge and water cooler.
Also in the Game Room Parlor, there is a dining table where guests can eat, check internet, play games, and relax.
There is a full-sized sofa for relaxing and watching tv, reading or resting. The room also includes a chess/checkers table, jigsaw puzzle table and board games.
The home is totally non-smoking, but respectful smoking is allowed outside in the yard.
Guests at the Doc Tilton House are welcome to visit the Curio Shop 24/7 and may even shop self-serve style! A micro-museum will open in spring 2022 that will be available to the guests.

There are two complimentary parking options at the historic Doc Tilton House. Street parking on Jefferson street, directly in front of the Entrance (based on availability) or an off-street parking spot in the back lawn area off Honeysuckle Lane. Our guests are welcome to park in either location. Entry to the house is through the front Entrance off Jefferson Street.

Other things to note
The historic Doc Tilton House is located in the heart of the historic walking district of Nashville. It sets directly next to the Village Green and is within steps of Nashville's restaurant and tourist area. Once you park your car, you can meander through the village with no parking worries during your stay.
This location is pet-friendly for responsible pet owners. Two dogs maximum with pets on leash at all times. There is a large yard for the dogs to enjoy on leash right at the house. The house is also set next to the Village Green Park which is an on-leash pet-friendly park. Dogs must be crated if left on property alone.

Get away from it all at in Brown County Indiana. Yellowwood State Forest is just a short walk away for hiking enthusiasts hoping to catch a glimpse of a deer or do some bird watching. The mountain bike trails in the Brown County State Park are only minutes away.

At Mike's Music and Dance Barn, there are 2 suites - Cowboy Suite and Cowgirl Suite.

These suites have one bedroom with a queen bed and kitchenette.

They are perfect for line dancers or for the wedding party attending an event.

These suites are part of the music barn so there may be music, weddings or events until 11pm on Monday night and weekends.

There is one shared deck, each suite has it's own charcoal grill.
