Looking forward to hosting you at this Bright, Charming & Clean 2 bedroom – 1 bathroom Retro Cottage with private front yard! The entire location has been renovated but also has the charm and vibe of an older home. This location has all you need for a comfortable stay-onsite laundry, fully equipped kitchen (gas stove and oven) and 2 FREE parking spaces in the rear driveway!

• Bathroom - Tub/shower combination (half the size of a normal tub). For your stay we provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryer and fresh towels.

• Bedroom 1 - Queen size bed - Ceiling fan and floor fan with cooling capabilities provided in this room. You can leave the door open for window AC of living room to cool you down as well.

• Bedroom 2 - Two twin size beds- second twin bed is a trundle bed. Window AC unit in this room.

• Radiant heat and window air conditioning (two AC units- one in 2nd bedroom and one in the living room area, it is enough to cool the entire unit if left on high cool setting)

• Free parking for two vehicles in our private driveway in back of our property. Please note: there is no access by car in the front of the property, access is through the alley.

A quick 3 minute walk to public transportation or a major highway to access downtown Chicago or all that Oak Park has to offer. We are a couple of blocks away from 2 parks. There is a public golf course 5 minutes from the unit. We are close to many restaurants and North Riverside shopping mall is only 10 minutes away! This is a gorgeous home in the Frank Loyd Wright historic district in Oak Park, Illinois. You will sleep on a super comfy queen bed in one large bedroom and a queen bed in the other bedroom. It is about 8 minutes to Blue Line Austin Station by walking (hence very close to downtown Chicago) and has convenient access to west, north west, and south west of greater Chicagoland by car. Via CTA Blue Line, you can arrive Chicago O'Hare Airport as its last station.
(c) Free parking up to a month can be easily arranged. Parking can be very very expensive in any larger metropolitan, including downtown Chicago. Therefore it is much more economical to park here and take the train to downtown Chicago. If you rent a room in or near downtown Chicago, you implicitly or explicitly spend a lot of money just on parking.
(d) The "Occupancy Tax" is about 11% in this village which is much less than 23% or higher (doubled) in Chicago. The occupancy tax is paid by the guests based on the sum of room rate and cleaning fee. With this tax and parking cost in mind, it is much more economical (and still without losing convenient access to downtown Chicago) to stay in a convenient suburbs rather than in Chicago or downtown Chicago. Since the "Occupancy Tax" is waived if you stay 31 days or longer, you can avoid this tax and save quite a bit of money if you plan your trip ahead and check with the host for room availability.

Sunny, spacious private room with queen-sized bed in northeast Oak Park by Taylor Park. Separate, non-attached bathroom is all yours. Less than 2 miles from downtown Oak Park and the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio, just a mile from the CTA Green Line into Chicago. Grab coffee from the kitchen Keurig, put your leftovers in my fridge. Ample street parking is free for first 3 days. Not wheelchair accessible. The guest bedroom is on the 2nd floor. It is big enough for 2 people for a weekend stay. It’s connected to the shared master bath.

The closet can be available for long term guests that stay more than 1 month. Closet is approximately 24 x 40 x 72/80 inches in dimension.

I will provide one table setting of dish ware that you should use for the duration of your stay. You can rinse/wash it out between uses. I run the dishwasher once a week.

The kitchen is for light cooking. No more than 1 meal a day. Food can be warmed up in toaster or microwave oven unless it’s a pizza.

Long term guests that stay longer than a month can do mass cooking. For example cook enough food for dinner for several days. But you cannot cook everyday. Ask questions if this isn’t clear.

Wash dishes and clean up kitchen right away; or place dishes in dishwasher if available.

With this tax and parking cost in mind, it is much more economical (and without losing convenient access to downtown Chicago) to stay in a convenient suburbs rather than in Chicago or downtown Chicago. Since the "Occupancy Tax" is waived if you stay 31 days or longer, you can avoid this tax and save quite a bit of money if you plan your trip ahead and check with the host for room availability.

Quiet and nice suburb. Close to public transportation & I-290 expressway. 8 minutes walking to CTA Blue Line Austin Station and arrive Chicago O'Hare Airport as its last station (no need to change train). 15 min to downtown Chicago via CTA train & 15 min by car (normal traffic). Near Loyola Med Ctr, Hines VA, Rush and MacNeal Hospitals.

Cereal, waffles and coffee are provided by the host for the ARRIVAL day/night of the guests.

The closest grocery stores are Fair Share Finer Foods, Amer Grocery Store and Carnival Grocery. Nearby coffee shops include Circle K, Buzz Cafe and The Happy Apple Pie Shop. Nearby restaurants include Pete's Red Hot's, Happiness Chinese and Bodhi Thai Bistro.

Alteration Request
Occasionally, the host may send the guest(s) an Alteration Request. Such Alteration Requests may be to just change the booked room to a similar room, or upgrade a booked room to a nicer room. Sometimes the Alteration Request does not involve a room change, but simply just an alignment adjustment of our internal booking calendar. We reward your cooperation with a FREE UPGRADE in such circumstances. In the event a room upgrade is not available, we may provide a significant room rate reduction. This allows us to accommodate needed guest extensions or necessary room adjustments due to various situations. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in accepting any Alteration Request as soon as possible.

We try our utmost to make your stay comfortable and satisfactory. It is most helpful if you notify us immediately of any issues that need attention, and we will give our best effort to rectify them. We also welcome you to provide direct comments or suggestions to the host as this is more timely and effective. On rare occasions, some guests like to serve as an inspector and write a lengthy but improper review in public without any communication with the host. We have no choice but to spend time responding to such reviews on the same forum or contact Airbnb to address the review when warranted. We really do not want to waste our time on such matters.
