The parking garage is attached to a different building but it’s only a 2-3 min walk away. Would recommend stopping in On Tap and Best Place Coffee & Spirits too, both not even a minute walk away from the front entrance. "

The view from the balcony was fantastic. The neighborhood was nice. There is a nice Jamaican restaurant around the corner, gas station, and supermarket in close walking distance. The instructions for check in from the unit manager contained all required information making check in a breeze. The initial message contained information on street parking. (In Milwaukee drivers have to have a permit to park on the city streets between 2 and 6 am. The initial email explained all of that. Its free for up to three days) The only issue was some car had a window smashed on the Friday night and the car was rifled through. Other than that the accommodations were just as advertised. Oh, and the bed was comfortable and sturdy! I would definitely stay here again. "

The property it self is a bit older, so expect things that come with age. Lots of creaking, etc. The parking situation is terrible though. Not the properties fault. Apparently parking in Milwaukee is just very hit or miss and something I will have to take into account on my next visit. The property is fine enough for the price. There was a step on the stairs that were broken when I arrived but was repaired by the next day. I couldn't say how long it was broken for prior though. Very clean living space."

Five blocks from Lake Michigan, 3 blocks from the river paths, close to the night life of Brady St, on bus lines, walking and bike paths. Sunny, quiet comfortable home with beautiful garden. Relax, or stay out from sunrise to sunrise: galleries, music, ethnic restaurants, brew houses, coffee roasters. In the summer, kayak, sail, skate, kite fly-all within walking distance. Winter: bike, ski, snowshoe-take in the latest films, theater, dance.

The space
You are welcome to use all the common spaces. There is room for yoga, workout space, reading, dinner etc. It is the lower level of a duplex and my friends upstairs are very welcoming and helpful too. I try to keep my home simple and useful. Im committed to living a low impact life, so I recycle, compost and garden. The bed is motorized both head and foot of bed lift. The bedroom has black out shades. It is a quiet space for sleeping and very close to the bathroom. I live in the back part of the house off of the kitchen area. I rise early, and mostly out for walks in very early am. So just help yourself to kitchen whenever you wake up. Always coffee and tea available, and refrigerator space for your food.

During your stay
I have a fairly active work, volunteer and social life, and am happy to recommend fun things to do in Milwaukee, it is one of my favorite US cities. I'm always available by phone for any questions. Sometimes, I will be out of town, but my friends upstairs can help if you need to know something more than I can explain via phone or text. I love to meet new people, but I also understand that some people just want a place to rest and relax and don't want to engage much, which is fine, the house is easy to find some quiet space. And if you are looking to share stories and find out more about Milwaukee and WI, I'm happy to share. I have travelled a fair amount and lived internationally for a number of years so happy to always hear about your adventures!

Other things to note
If you are considering a month or more it would be a really good idea to talk about your plans to make sure our schedules are compatible and it is what you are looking for in an extended stay.
If you are here for more than a couple of nights I do love to cook and you will be invited to dinner, with probably a couple of other friends, as the table expands to seat 4 in the kitchen or 10 in the dining area. I keep the dining area open for yoga/workout space or sometimes dance events (this would only happen if you are happy to join in).

👶 While we aim to provide our guests with a comfortable and enjoyable stay, we want to be fully transparent—when we’re not traveling, my wife, our toddler, and I reside onsite in one of the bedrooms. We regularly cook and use the shared kitchen and living room, and you may occasionally hear the joyful sounds of a little one exploring the space. We do our best to be courteous and respectful of your stay, but toddlers do tend to have bursts of energy (and fast feet). If you’re okay with a bit of family life in the background, we’d love to host you.

🏡 Home Details: This home was built in 1900. While some parts of the home are still being updated (some windows, exterior details, bathroom tile, etc), the home has been thoughtfully renovated to provide a comfortable stay for all our guests.

🏙️ We’re located in Walker’s Square—a historic neighborhood just minutes from Milwaukee’s more established areas like Bay View and the Historic Third Ward. While those neighborhoods are known for their polished charm and walkable boutiques, Walker’s Square is still proudly blue collar, with a deep sense of community and character that reflects the real Milwaukee.

🔎 Our particular block is solid—most of our neighbors are longtime homeowners who take pride in the area and look out for one another. We live on-site and have a great relationship with those around us.

🚕 As with any urban area that’s growing, we encourage guests to use a car or rideshare (Uber/Lyft) when heading out, especially after dark. Daytime walks are fine, but late-night exploring on foot isn’t something we recommend.

🎶 One quirk (that we love): on weekends, different households take turns playing music outside. Don’t be surprised if you fall asleep—or wake up—to the sounds of Vicente Fernández belting out ballads. It’s just part of the rhythm of life here.

We chose this neighborhood for a reason—and we’re proud to call it home.

Guest has access to their assigned bedroom and common areas (living room, bathroom, and kitchen).

The kitchen includes use of certain appliances: fridge for food and drinks, the sink and the microwave.

When using common areas, please clean up after yourself after each use as the spaces are shared with other guests. For example, do not leave a mess in the kitchen or dirty dishes in the sink.

👵 We live in a generational home. On occasion, my elderly mother-in-law and her small emotional support dog may be onsite while we are away. With this said, keep in mind that the remaining bedrooms of the house may be occupied at anytime by family or other guests.

🅿️ You must obtain a temporary night parking permit (free for 3 nights or less). Permits for longer stays are available for purchase through the City of Milwaukee.
