The landscapers will not cut the grass if the chairs are in the way. There is Cable, WIFI, .. The sofa pulls out a queen sleeper. Washer and dryer in the unit. Small dogs OK.. Need the next level of relaxation, you can make an appointment at the Stonedrift Spa located in the Eagle Ridge Resort main building. The 6,000 -square foot facility has certified and experienced spa professionals and 10 treatment rooms where therapies include couple’s massages, facials, and reflexology, energy therapies, teen and men’s services. The men’s and women’s locker rooms also feature state-of-the-art steam rooms. The relaxation room is a great place to unwind while awaiting treatment and the Spa Boutique offers the deluxe organic products for purchase which can be used during your treatment.

• LAKE GALENA & MARINA

One of The Galena Territory’s most cherished amenities is Lake Galena, a scenic 225-acre man-made lake perfect for anglers and boaters who enjoy observing nature on leisurely cruises. It boasts some of the best fishing in the area, with an abundance of smallmouth and largemouth bass, walleye, bluegill, channel catfish, perch and tiger muskie.

The shoreline is designated Greenspace – land owned collectively by members of The Galena Territory Association – that cannot be purchased or developed. To protect the shoreline from erosion and keep the lake quiet, peaceful and attractive to wildlife, the lake is restricted to 10-horsepower motors. There is no swimming or water skiing.

Two other special locations on Lake Galena are North Cove and Thunder Bay Falls Park. North Cove includes a picnic area, a small pavilion and barbecue grills. Thunder Bay Falls Park is located opposite Lake Galena’s spillway and dam. Hiking trails are available and fishing is allowed in the stream below the spillway. Two paths traverse the top and the base of the 17-foot-tall by 400-foot-long limestone retaining wall that leads to a popular observation point for a view of Lake Galena’s spillway.

The Galena Territory Association’s Marina is located on Marina Drive and offers boat rentals and sells fuel and fishing licenses. The Marina features a well-stocked Bait & Tackle Shop for fishermen in need of live bait, extra lures, bobbers or perhaps a new rod and reel, and also sells pop, bottled water, chips, snacks and ice cream. The shop is open April through October.

On the shoreline of Lake Galena, next to the Marina, you’ll find a number of recreational opportunities for family members of all ages to enjoy including a playground, picnic area, fish-cleaning shed as well three pickleball courts, a tennis court and volleyball courts. Other seasonal recreation opportunities include a badminton net and two horseshoe pits.

• HISTORIC DOWNTOWN GALENA

The townhouse is about a 15-minute drive to downtown historic Galena. This New England-style town was recently rated #1 in 2017 by Architectural Digest for “Most Beautiful Main Street in America”. It was also listed as one of “America’s Prettiest Towns” by Forbes Magazine in 2013. You will love the quaint, mile-long downtown area with unique gift shops, ice cream parlors, artist galleries, craft stores, specialty food shops, and restaurants. • DINING

In Galena, there are many options ranging from pub-style burger places to high end dining. One of our favorites is a French/German restaurant called Fritz and Frittes. It has one of the best steaks we’ve had. The Log Cabin is known for great steaks as well (although at higher prices). One Eleven Main is a great restaurant that creates their dishes with food from local farmers. Durty Gurt's is known for their burgers. If you don’t want to leave the resort, there are four restaurants on the grounds. The Woodlands restaurant in the Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa has a good breakfast buffet and a stunning view from the bluff overlooking Lake Galena. We especially like the Eggs Benedict from the menu. There is an adjacent pub-style restaurant with a bar and large screen TV if you want to catch up on a game. Paisano's serves pizza and Italian sandwiches. There is another restaurant near the entrance of the Galena Territory called Woodstone with 2 1/2 story windows facing a beautiful view of the valley.

• WINTER ACTIVITIES

Wintertime activies include skiing at Chestnut Mountain which is a 20 minute drive. Right on the grounds, you can cross country ski, ice skate on the pond, or go sledding on the many hills. You can rent equipment for these at the Nordic Center, which is within walking distance of the townhome. You also might want to go to downtown Galena at night to see the Christmas lights.

Around the 2nd week of December, Galena has an event called Night of the Luminaria and Living Windows. The town puts over 5,000 candlelit luminaries lining the streets all around town and many of the shops downtown decorate their windows with Christmas scenes and live people acting out different characters.

Six (6) proximity cards are available in the townhouse for guests to use to gain access into the Owner's Club located a short 2 minute drive away. It includes a full fitness center with Nautilus-style equipment, indoor Olympic-size swimming pool with accessible ramp, outdoor swimming pool, indoor basketball court (not regulation size), and a game room with pool tables, ping-pong tables, TV, and video games. You can also sign up to use one of several tennis courts or play on the beautiful 63-hole golf course. The Business Center offers three computer stations with internet access. There is also a computer bar located outside the Business Center, plus the entire complex offers free wireless internet connectivity.

Welcome to Dear Galena, a modern tri-level retreat townhouse with a view of the Territory. It's the perfect getaway for couples, friends, family or just YOU!!!!

Situated within The Galena Territory and near Eagle Ridge South Golf Course, this townhouse has two bedrooms - one with two twin beds, one with a king size bed and two full bathrooms with tub and shower. A pull out sofa bed for additional guest(s) and high-speed Wi-Fi internet for streaming entertainment and all of your work from home needs.

The three-level living townhouse is a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom home only minutes away from the historic downtown Galena with everything you need for your stay. As you walk in the front door, you will be greeted by the main stairs entryway landing. To the right in the entryway we have hooks for you to hang your coat and bag as well as a tray for you to remove your shoes and get comfortable and ready for your stay.

If you start downstairs you will find the entrance to the garage on the right. This one-car garage is available with your stay. Inside the garage you will find a Level-II Electric Vehicle Charger (J1772 only - Tesla owners, please bring your adapters) for your Electric Vehicle. EV Charger is yours to use for free during your stay. Past the garage, you will find the laundry room if you ever need to clean something before heading home.

In the laundry room you will find our dog friendly supply cart for your stay. Included will be a large-size dog crate, extra leashes if needed, dog bowl for food and water, a doggie mat, and extra dog waste bags. We DO NOT charge a pet fee. We do have a deposit requirement that will be return 3-5 days after check-out. Deposit required for all stays, with or without pets.

After the laundry room, you will find our Family Playroom! The playroom is fully stocked with children books, puzzles of all ages, variety of games, board games of all ages, a diner restaurant play set, and a 55" smart TV (with Netflix) with a mini Sega Genesis pre-loaded with 40+ Old School games. Feel free to bring your own gaming console and plug into the TVs HDMI.

As you head upstairs, you will find our main living area. The living room features a pull out sofa that can sleep an additional 2 people, a few books to read, a smart TV (with Netflix), two additional seating, a gas fireplace, and extra throw pillows and blankets for your comfort.

The dining room table will seat four and we have three additional stools at the kitchen island for your to enjoy a meal. A highchair is also available for the littlest one.

Behind the dining room table we have our beverage bar. Available for your use is a tea kettle, a coffee maker, a single serve Keurig machine, a Nespresso Vertuo and a Blender. We are fully stocked with an assortment of teas, coffee, espresso, hot chocolate and more. But feel free to bring your preferred coffee or tea drink of choice.

Inside the kitchen you will find everything you need to cover your breakfast, lunch and dinner - and everything in between.

On this level you will find Bedroom 1. Bedroom 1 has two twin beds. We have furnished the room with a ceiling fan, alarm clock, throw pillows, and throw blankets for extra comfort. You will also find a playpen and a baby gate inside the bedroom closet. Bathroom 1 is connected to Bedroom 1 and the kitchen. This is a full bathroom with a tub/shower combo.

On this same level, you can walk out into the front patio and enjoy the great view of the golf course and beyond. The patio have two conversation seating and a rocking egg chair.

Upstairs we have our Primary Bedroom. The Primary Bedroom has a king size bed, high ceiling and great views of the Galena Territory. We have furnished this room with a large floor mirror, a work from home desk with a desk chair, and a reading nook for your relaxation. There are plenty of books for your enjoyment and throw blankets for your comfort. Inside the bedroom closet you will also find a mini portable crib for the little one. This bedroom also has an on-suite full bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub and shower.

As our guest, you will also have access to the pools (indoor and outdoor), fitness center, basketball court and game room at the Galena Territory Owner's Club, a short three miles from the townhouse (2000 Territory Drive Galena, IL). You'll access this with the Owner's Club proximity cards that will be in the kitchen drawer when you arrive. Electric Vehicle charging stations are available on-site in the Owner's Club.

We have a toddler, and they have ALL you need for them, an adapter for the toilet, stepper to wash their hands and teeth and even a gate for the stairs. All the rooms and bathroom are a great size, and the playroom is a great space to entertain your toddler during your stay at the house. The area is very relaxing and felt safe at all times. The link the host provided with the recommendations on the area for restaurants and entertainment was very helpful. Wonderful place and hosts. Hopefully we will be staying here again in the future."

Views of the waterfall and lake Galena in the fall, winter and spring. For the spring, summer and fall we have a fire pit and 4 chairs for you to use, just bring along your firewood! We kindly ask that you put the chairs on the gravel next to the deck, the landscapers will not cut the grass if the chairs are in the way. We have a charcoal grill off the back deck. We ask that you bring your own charcoal and clean after each use. This home was just fully remodeled. All new furniture, flooring, cabinets and bathrooms. You will have access to 6 proxy cards to enter into the Owners Club. Parking is on site, WI-FI, all smart TV's to login into your NetFlix acct. Each of the bedrooms has their own private bathroom. Situated within The Galena Territory and near Eagle Ridge South Golf Course, this townhouse has two bedrooms - each with a king size bed and two bathroom. A pull out sofa bed for additional guest(s) and high-speed Wi-Fi for streaming entertainment and all your work from home needs.

The townhouse is a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom loft-style home only minutes away from the historic downtown Galena with everything you need for your stay. As you walk in the front door, you will be greeted by two large skylight windows in the entryway. To the right in the entryway we have a closet for you to hang your coat or store your bags as well as a bench for you to sit on while you remove your shoes and get comfortable and ready.

On this floor, you will find Bedroom 1. Bedroom 1 has a king size bed, high ceiling and great views of the wooded backyard. We have furnished the room with a large floor mirror, yoga mats, ceiling fans, extra throw blankets, and an alarm clock. As you walk past the closet, you will walk into your on-suite bathroom. This bathroom features a soaking tub for your self-care and enjoyment. With the bath tray, you can enjoy a book or your tablet while you soak all your worries away.

Come downstairs and you will find the kitchen, with everything you need for your morning coffee/tea and everything you need to prepare a quick meal. You will also find the laundry room if you ever need to clean something before heading home.

The dining room table will seat four and we have two additional stools at the kitchen island for you to enjoy a meal or open up your laptop.

The living room features a pull out sofa that can sleep 2, a few board games for those electronic-free nights, a smart tv (with Netflix) and a fireplace (please review instruction) for you to get cozy. We also have what we are calling 'The Reading Nook' - a small pink love seat next to the wood fireplace for you to enjoy a book or a laugh. Books are scattered throughout the house for your reading enjoyment.

Past the living room is the exterior doors that leads to the back patio with outdoor seating for four and a propane grill with an incredible peaceful wooded view.

Next to the living room is Bedroom 2 and Bathroom 2. Bedroom 2 also have a king size bed, so no need to fight over who gets the bigger bed. This bedroom also have a large floor mirror, yoga mats, ceiling fan, extra throw blankets and an alarm clock. Bathroom 2 is connected to Bedroom 2 and the kitchen. It features a rain shower, if you are not a bath person, and a shower hand wand.

As our guest, you will also have access to the pools (indoor and outdoor), fitness center, basketball court and game room at the Galena Territory Owner's Club, a short three miles from the townhouse (2000 Territory Drive Galena, IL). You'll access this with the Owner's Club proximity cards that will be in the kitchen drawer when you arrive. Electric Vehicle charging stations are available on-site in the Owner's Club.

Dog Policy
We allow two dogs up to 50 pounds each. Breed restrictions do apply. If your dog will be accompanying you, please let us know. We kindly ask that he/she be kenneled any time left alone in the townhome. Please responsibly dispose of your dog's waste on all walks and at all times. There is a one time charge of $75 (per dog) for your pet's stay, and in addition, you will be charged for any damage that may be caused by your pet.

Be aware that the "Territory" landscape is mostly Vertical, so if you are planning to take walks, be prepared for a LOT of Up/Down hills (very steep). On a Side Note: the disappointment was that most of Galena - the MAIN Street shops, etc. - we found to be CLOSED on Monday/Tue/ and some only open Thur-Sunday, and NOTHING opens before 10 am, so don't bother going before Noon or after 4 pm (when they start to roll up the sidewalks), unless you're there for the bars."

The Federal House was built in 1842 by Frederick Stahl and Alice McLane Stahl. The home is considered the finest example of Federal architecture in Galena. Guests are welcome to enjoy the ambiance in the Living and Dining rooms which look much as they did when the house was built. These rooms are furnished appropriately to the period. The two spacious suites are beautifully furnished but in a more eclectic rather than historical style. You may enjoy breakfast in the main Dining Room or have it delivered to your suite. Beverages and plenty of ice will be stocked in your room before your arrival. The City of Galena will not allow a B&B to serve or sell alcoholic beverages, please feel free to bring your own. The wet bar is furnished with a coffee maker, tea kettle, small oven, blender, glasses, plates, silverware and other utensils. Coffee, cream, tea, hot chocolate, popcorn, sugar, sweetener, salt and pepper are also provided. The fridge is stocked with beverages, squeeze bottles of ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise and plenty of ice. Guests are welcome to use the grill in the back garden when weather permits.

Nestled in the heart of historical downtown Galena, our quiet and private apartment suite is only steps away from shopping, dining, entertainment and everything Galena has to offer. As you walk out and down the stone stairway, you will find yourself in the middle of Main Street! A reserved, off street, parking space is included with your stay! We fully clean and disinfect between stays.

Thanks to our wonderful property owners and amazing guests, our places stay pretty booked up — which means our rockstar cleaning crew only has a short 5-hour window to work their magic between stays.
If any flexibility opens up for your dates, we’ll be sure to reach out and offer it ahead of time. Otherwise, if you'd like a little extra time to ease in or out, we recommend booking the night before or after.

🔥 Grills & LP Tanks:
Our owners generously provide grills at no cost. However, full LP tanks aren’t guaranteed. We do our best to make sure there’s at least 1/3 of a tank ready for you. If you need more, refills or exchanges are up to you.

To help you settle in, we provide:

The space
This single story home is a cozy, peaceful escape in the middle of the pastoral midwest. The house is spacious and well equipped; the perfect place to relax for a few days. In the mornings, sip coffee at the kitchen table and watch the hummingbirds flutter by the window. For the evenings enjoy the fully enclosed, all-weather patio space as you gaze over the rolling corn field to the south. Stretch out and make yourself at home amidst nature's bounty.

Guest access
Guest will have access to the entire house and yard. Please note that renting this space does not give access to any of the other out-buildings or agricultural structures nearby.

Other things to note
Entrance to the house is through the glassed-in porch which leads to the kitchen. Please remove your shoes and boots and leave them on the porch. The front door has keyless entry and you will be provided with a code before check-in.

This house is not wheelchair accessible.

After your stay, please dispose of all your trash in the nearby dumpster. For recycling, place aluminum cans and empty clear plastic water bottles in marked garbage cans on the kitchen porch. Please ensure windows are closed and doors are locked when you leave.

The low, red building across from the house contains stables, a garage and an apartment. These spaces are off limits to AirBNB guests.
