- "As I had found that this property was once owned by my 3X great granduncles I was fascinated by the history and walked in their footsteps. As I descended the original, narrow stairs with the low hand rails I imagined the original women in their high button shoes and hoop skirts more gracefully than me maneuvering them daily. It was a pleasant step back in time with it's antique atmosphere and original structure. It was my 48th wedding anniversary and staying at a family home made it even more special. Cheese, crackers, wine, dark chocolate and chocolate chip cookies greeted us. The following days breakfast was excellent. I was very pleased that the current proprietor would listen to my history and share what he knew. It was once owned as a family venture, bakery/general store/boarding house and is again being well taken care of by another family. When I return to do further research I will again stay there and check out the ghost that will not let the basement door stay closed.
