The log cabin, built in 2012 by the Amish, is located on the Root River Trail. The trail is great for biking, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, rollerblading, and walking. The cabin is 2.25 miles from Lanesboro via the trail. To access the trail, you just need to hop on your bike and ride down the road around the farmhouse.

The cabin is located on Hwy 250 3.75 miles by car north of Lanesboro with scenic bluff views. It is fully-furnished including two bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and the other with a queen bed. There also is a futon and bunk beds.

This is a complete house with everything you need, except food. Enjoy the scenic bluff views while sitting out on the covered porch with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. There is plenty of room to bring family or friends or just a loved one to enjoy a romantic get away.

Amish Valley Cabin in the heart of the Amish community is located 1.5 miles east of Canton, MN. This country cabin is completely furnished for your stay. The large kitchen will handle any family gathering size and has a refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, crock-pot, coffee maker, and electric fry pan along with all the utensils. The open living room has a gas fireplace, leather couch and recliner with a 60” TV on the wall. This cabin has 3 private bedrooms, the master bedroom has its own master bath and a queen size bed. Bedroom 2 has a queen bed and a full closet. Bedroom 3 can handle all the kids or multiple couples with 2 bunk beds with a full size bed on bottom and a twin on top and a closet. All the bedroom furniture, kitchen table and benches at the island are all handcrafted by the local Amish. There is an additional bathroom with shower located just off the living room. The kids can enjoy playing ping pong in our rec room along with watching satellite TV on the 50” TV on the wall or watching movies off Netflix.
The inside and outside of the cabin have a sound system with Bluetooth. Wi-Fi high speed internet and a cellphone booster.
Our cabin has a nice secluded setting ¼ mile off the paved black top road. There is a large fire pit area outside with permanent benches to seat 4-8 people along with a 4’ Charcoal grill to handle any gathering size.
On the front porch there is a swing to enjoy the scenic view of the wild flowers and all the bird houses. There is a 36’ x 48’ Barn with Blacktop base for motorcycles or cars to park during your stay. Behind the barn there is a shed to house your horses if you come down trail riding in the area.
We offer a 4 mile Private Amish Buggy Ride along with the winter months a Amish Sleigh Ride with a Free Will Donation.
If you like fishing we have a Private spring fed trout pond (catch and release only), no licensed required, poles and bait are provided and it is wheelchair accessible.
During the winter months SE Minnesota has some wonderful snowmobiling trails and they would be accessible from the cabin location.
The cabin is large enough to handle Class Reunions, Family Reunions, Weddings or Business Meetings and Catering food would be available.

This large open room layout, will accommodate your family for fishing, biking, hiking, and canoeing adventures. A large deck, makes it easy to have campfires, and enjoy the romantic sunsets. Extra tables are provided for getaway scrapbooking weekends. There is a full kitchen to create family meals and memories. This is a comfortable and cozy cabin, with many modern conveniences.

The house sleeps 8 in 3 queen sized beds and one full size futon. It has 2 bathrooms and an awesome view. In the front yard there is a softball park, complete with teeter-totters, slide, swings and fire pit. The house has hardwood floors and is pet friendly. The small town of Whalan is located just 4 miles east of Lanesboro. You can walk, drive, swim, kayak, bike, or canoe between the two towns. The property is located just one block off the Root River State Bicycle Trail and about 3 blocks from the World Famous Pie Shop.
This 100+ year old house has been moved, from its original location across from the pie shop, and is now overlooking Gator Greens Mini Golf. The house has been gutted to the studs and totally redone. Great location for the cycling enthusiasts of all ages. Whalan is located just 4 miles from Lanesboro, and 8 miles from Peterson. It is some of the flattest parts of the trail, offering great views of the bluffs as well as the river.
Absolutely no ATVs on property. Dogs are allowed, however we do ask that you clip your pets nails as the hardwood floors have been resurfaced in March 2022. Dogs are an additional cost per night ask for details.

Outside you can enjoy the birds singing in our century old pine trees on our property. We also provide a fire pit and a small supply of wood if you would like to cozy up to a fire in the evenings.

The Creativity Room is located on the main floor with easy access from the front door and parking. Each guest has their own 5 or 6 foot table and adjustable/swivel office chair with arm rests, personal trash container and cup holder. Each table has it's own OttLite for additional lighting if needed. Lighting is very important for crafters of any kind; so we have made sure there is plenty of natural and artificial light available for your needs. Surge protectors are provided at each table.

The lodge is well furnished with comfy beds, large couches and a fully equipped kitchen. The patio features both a Weber Charcoal and Gas Grill ready for your BBQ expertise. A fantastic outdoor fire pit and supplied wood is just the start for an evening of s’mores and stories. The lodge is full of games and activities for a rainy day too, including a full size pool table.

You will have access to 1500 acres ( yes 1500!!!) for hiking, fishing, skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, nature, peace & quiet. Stroll along the winding creek or climb the ridge road to the lookout. The trails are well maintained, mowed and clearly marked. The variety allows for easy walks to excursions with significant elevation changes. Take a 1, 3, 5, 10 or even a 20 mile trip.

This is truly a very unique place and will give you lasting memories. If you hit the season right, you will see the most spectacular firefly display, blue birds by the 1000's or an abundance of other wildlife as they migrate through. The owner holds this beautiful place as a hunting lodge and you'll see more wild deer than you've ever seen anywhere. While he wants to share this getaway... he wants that Big Buck for himself. Newly renovated five bedroom, 3 bathroom located on a private farm site less than one mile from beautiful Lanesboro on paved county road 8. Wonderful for a romantic getaway for couples to family vacations, reunions, girls or craft weekends, or hunters, the 3,400 square feet of living space features an open concept, large great room/kitchen/dining area as well as a basement family room and a basement pool room.

**The nightly rate for this house is based on 6 occupants. There is an additional $30 charge per night per person up to 15 people. (12 in beds, 2 on air mattress and one on sofa). We price it this way so we can accommodate smaller groups. There is a $125 cleaning fee per stay, tax and Home Away fees also added.

The house is about a mile outside of town on the highway so riding bikes to town is not realistic but the trailhead with tons of parking is very close."

Private setting on 80 acres overlooking the Root River Trail. The Bunk House is attached to the shed and includes heat, air, bath, and a Kitchenette. It is decorated with a log cabin theme, has tile, carpet, and granite counter tops. The Kitchenette has a full size refrigerator, microwave, hot plates, and coffee makers (Keurig also - bring your own k-cups). There is a charcoal grill available, stored behind the bunkhouse. We also supply firewood for use in the fire pit.

For single night rates you can make a request and we can evaluate.
The house on this property is also rented out. It is about 100 feet from the bunkhouse. Guests do not share common areas such a fire pits or patio areas. Trails are accessible to all guests.

The property is ~3miles from the trail access in Whalan, MN and ~7 miles from Lanesboro. We have several miles of mowed walking trails throughout the property that are available to all guests. Great opportunities for walks, snowshoeing, or cross country skiing.

There is a security camera mounted to south side of the house above the garage. It provides a view of the driveway as you enter the property.

★ Lower-Unit: Jake, the homeowner, has turned the basement of this property into a secure and separate lower-unit, and lives there. You will not have access to that space or the backyard/patio during your stay. Jake may be out of town for work occasionally and will quietly come and go through his private door inside the garage. Jake is very friendly and may also access his desk in the corner of the garage on occasion.

★ Lower-Unit Tenant: A long-term tenant is currently renting a room of the lower-unit from Jake and living with him until January 20th, 2024. He has his own private parking space and accesses his apartment by the private backyard patio entrance through the back of the home. He does not have any contact with guests and does not have access to the garage like Jake does.

GUEST ACCESS
The front door has an electronic lock, so all people need to do to get checked into the home is the 4 digit code to that lock. That code will be given to you with the check-in instructions prior to your arrival.

It has everything you need from cooking to a variety of things to do in the garage(game room). The bedrooms are spacious with enough closets and dresser space for all groups and beds are comfortable. The furniture is again Amish made and beautiful. This home is immaculate and clean! The outside of the home is exactly as you see it. Beautiful front yard were you can relax and enjoy coffee in the morning or campfire in the evening. Our hosts, Drew & Rachel are very attentive and check in to make sure everything is going well and there are no issues. We will be back to visit Harmony and stay at this beautiful home!"

First level has a living area with balcony that looks over Elmwood Street and Parkway Ave. Beautiful kitchen, dining room, bathroom with walk in shower and queen bedroom. Step away from the crowds in this quiet, quaint town of Preston located in Fillmore County. This VRBO is only blocks away from the Town Center with a nice Grocery store. It is also walking distance to the Bowling Alley with a bar and grill. You will feel safe in this small town living and there are no traffic lights in the town. It is located 3 blocks from the Root River and Bike Trails, that goes through other small towns. Preston is know as Minnesota’s Trout Capitol. It has a 9 - hole fishing course. It also has a Public Swimming pool costing $5.00 per person. Lanesboro is a 15 minute drive which has shopping, Live Theatre, and a Fish Hatchery. Harmony is about a 10 minute drive and known for its Amish tours.

“Root Haven” is family oriented. There are 3 bed rooms and a play room with a closet full of games for you and your children. This home is comfortable and ready for your visit.

Private rural setting located on 80 acres ~3 miles from the Root River State Trail and ~7miles from Lanesboro, MN. The house provides over 4,500 square feet of living space for family vacations, reunions, or group retreats for crafting, relaxation, or corporate events. There are miles of mowed walking trails that meander through the woods and grasslands for your enjoyment.

Log sided home over looking the Root River Valley. Spacious kitchen, dining, and living areas with a total of over 4,500 square feet to spread out. If more space is needed to spread out or for extra guests we have a bunk house attached to the shed that is furnished with a kitchenette, queen bed, bunk beds, bathroom, and air conditioning, heat, and gas fireplace. Just let us know you are interested and we can check availability and send a quote for the combination. Pictures of the bunk house are included on VRBO. Check and and you will not find a place in the area with this much space and well maintained. There is a beautiful outside patio with a fire pit for your enjoyment. Guests have access to the house, lawn area, fire pit, and walking trails.

The bunkhouse in a separate building about 100 feet from the house that is also rented out. Guests do not share common areas. If you are interested in renting the bunkhouse as well to provide more space, contact us for availability and pricing for the combination.

All prices include cleaning. We expect guests to leave the house in the same condition as when they arrived. For rates other than 3 nights, we can quote upon request.

We are available by text, phone, or email to answer any questions you may have. We are around the property often to stop in and check the property and perform maintenance and upkeep. Owners reserve the right to verify correct number of guests are staying on the property.

There are absolutely no parties allowed. If we find that more guests are staying than agreed to, the house is being used in manner that was not agreed to, or guests are not following the house rules; we reserve the right to ask all guests to leave without refund. We have had many groups stay at our place over the years without any trouble and most have loved their stay and we accommodate to those that agree to respect our property.

There is a security camera mounted to south side of the house above the garage. It provides a view of the driveway as you enter the property.

*NEW Set on 200 acres of hiking trails and surrounded by a trout stream, this 6,000 square foot house built in 2001 by the Amish in traditional barn-raising style is astonishing. A family- owned property since the 1890s, all of the wood for the house is from the property. This breathtaking home has 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a bar, a pool table and all of the space a family needs. Open ceilings and breathtaking views make for a wonderful time. Near Root River Biking Trail.

- "The house was beautiful and spacious. The beds were very comfortable and there were extra pillows and blankets available. We loved the large, well provisioned kitchen and the two refrigerators. Lots of dishes, glasses of all kinds, and more pots and pans and baking pans than I've ever seen in a rental! The hosts have thoughtfully provided little bins of those things that are often forgotten (toothbrush, comb, etc.) as well as tea, creamers, sugar and sweetners. A bin of left behind bug spray was nice, although we really did not encounter many mosquitos the week we were there (so dry). The freezer in the garage had extra bags of ice which was great because it is a long drive to the nearest store and the ice maker was not keeping up with our group of 8. Jessica (the host) was very responsive to our queries. We loved the large selection of games and puzzles. We also loved the beautiful pool table and the foosball table. We made good use of all of them. We used the gas grill many nights, ran out of propane, contacted Jessica who quickly replied and said if we would go ahead and refill both tanks, she would reimburse us. We left behind some information on the local towns and activities. We went mini-golfing, bowling, out for ice cream, biking and hiking. Tried fishing in the trout stream, too. Fabulous family vacation in a quiet rural location."

High Court Loft is on the 3rd floor above High Court Pub on Lanesboro's historic Main Street. The large open space features a wall bed, kitchen w/1 pot induction stovetop, convection toasteroven, coffeemaker, fridge, dishwasherµwave. The Loft is great for lounging or entertaining small groups. Large original windows open to a wonderful view of the lively downtown. In addition to the bed there is a 7 ft couch with custom bedding, and queen deluxe airbed. Pets not allowed.

Restored in 2016 High Court Loft is on the 3rd floor above the High Court Pub. Originally the judicial chambers for Judge JG French the original doors and restored windows give a 1890's feel to the space while you're enjoying state of the art heating/cooling and sleeping arrangements. The Loft is above a working pub - with live music in the evening on most weekends. The Loft is close to downtown stores, the local river outfitters, and other restaurants. Park your car for your stay! Biking, canoeing, and kayaking -- along with enjoying music, food, and drink at the Pub and other restaurants are popular pastimes.

Beautiful, freshly renovated apartment in the heart of Lanesboro. Town being only about 3 blocks long, from here you have the ultimate walkable getaway. The primary bedroom is studio style taking up the best space of the unit. There is an additional room, set as an office or sitting room, but the desk pulls out into a full size memory foam bed and the ottoman hide a twin bed, suitable for a child.

The large bathroom houses a washer and dryer for housekeeping and guest use. One laundry detergent pod is left for guests

Guests have access to outdoor seating of Paddle On, both bistro tables out front of the shop and a balcony on the back of the building. The balcony has nice patio lighting and has access to the river and High Court Pubs patio space. The balcony is accessable after the coffeehouse is closed, but requires a walk to the well maintained alley for entrance

Access to the unit is off the sidewalk between Granny's Liquor and Paddle On Coffee. Short term parking is on the street while overnight we ask guests to park at Bass Pond and use the pedestrian walkway to come back into town a short and scenic walk using the pedestrian bridge over the Root River

River's Retreat is our bright and sunny apartment. All the best of Lanesboro is right outside your door, including the bike trail, canoe & tube rental, Commonweal Theater, restaurants and shops. This is the upper floor of a duplex, one of the original houses in Lanesboro. It is newly renovated with an eclectic vibe, original art, spacious kitchen, and all the amenities to make you feel at home. We also have a 60 amp outdoor outlet for car and bike charging. We can't wait to host you!

The space
This is a two bedroom apartment, the upper floor of a duplex. Our caretaker is downstairs on site. It is very quiet between apartments, and you have your own entrance in back. The space also includes private backyard access with a fire pit, bbq grill and smoker, and a herb and vegetable garden for you to help yourself :) You can ride or ski out to the bike trails, which are across the street. We do our best to include all the amenities to feel at home, and love our guests suggestions for items that can make their stays even better!

The whole group will be comfortable in this spacious and unique space. This is a furnished apartment in a renovated church. One bedroom with a queen bed and large walk in closet on the lower level. A stairway takes you to an upper loft with three twin beds. Pack n play available and high chair too. Pets are welcome. Located a very short walk to Sylvan Park which has a wonderful playground. Plenty of counter space for a gathering.

The space
Large brick church which has been remodeled into 10 apartments. They range from studios, 1 bedrooms, and two bedrooms. This two story unit is the largest.

There is a portable a/c unit in the main bedroom. That combined with the ceiling fans keeps the unit quite cool. This building was built in 1860. Please be mindful of those heating and cooling challenges when booking (and leaving a review). If you need a perfect consistent temp and 24/7 concierge - choose a large corporate hotel in Rochester.

Guest access
You have access to the entire apartment with the exception of one maintenance closet which should remain locked for safety reasons.

There are a variety of toiletries in the bathroom cabinet. You’re welcome to take what you need and leave the rest. :)

Other things to note
We can usually accommodate early check in or late check out. No extra fees for late/early. Please check with us ahead of time, however. Maintenance and cleaning happens between 10am-3pm and we need to schedule our time appropriately for everyone. Thanks!

The house sleeps 8 in 3 queen sized beds and one full size futon. It has 2 bathrooms and an awesome view. In the front yard there is a softball park, complete with teeter-totters, slide, swings and fire pit. The house has hardwood floors and is pet friendly.
This 100+ year old house has been moved, from its original location across from the pie shop, and is now overlooking Gator Greens Mini Golf. The house has been gutted to the studs and totally redone.

The space
People who love to bike. Whalan is located just 4 miles from Lanesboro, and 8 miles from Peterson. It is some of the flattest parts of the trail, offering great views of the bluffs as well as the river.
