- "Such a big place! Normally, when we travel as a family, not everyone gets their own bed… but, Darci’s place was so comfortable and everyone slept great in their own bed!!! The Arcadian Cabin at Bishop Branch Creek

Constructed in the summer of 2017, Arcadian Cabin’s location in the Driftless Area of Southwestern Wisconsin manifests a true park-like atmosphere. Both Crystal Creek and Bishop Branch Creek, are located steps off of the covered deck. The property (3+ acres) boasts a yard perfect for campfires (firewood provided), stargazing, lawn games, or just lounging and relaxing. Additionally, 58 acres of public land adjacent to the property is available for hiking, fishing, hunting, snowshoeing, bird watching, and other outdoor activities - no need to drive, these activities are all accessible on-site as soon as you walk out the front door.

At the end of the day, the 16’x28’ cabin which boasts an 18-foot tall ceiling in the main room will welcome you and up to five additional guests (sleeps six). The two bedrooms, bathroom, full kitchen, electric heat, bathtub and shower, electric appliances, Satellite TV, WiFi, a storage shed for your use, and many other features will make your stay enjoyable and stress-free.

The location of The Arcadian is ideal for any traveler’s needs. Viroqua, the county seat of Vernon County, is less than 5 miles away and has numerous shops, festivals, a challenging golf course, and high-quality restaurants available. In addition to the public land out the front door, the Kickapoo Valley Reserve is less than 10 minutes away - providing canoeing, hiking, hunting, fishing, and numerous other outdoor activities and well over 8,000 acres to roam.

We added a storage shed to the property where you can lock up some of your gear and dry out your waders. There are also yards games, the charcoal grill, a gas grill, and other items in the storage shed for your use.

Award-winning restaurants, Wonderstate Coffee, several wineries (Vernon Vineyards, Branches Winery), movie theater, seasonal farmer's market, minutes from Organic Valley and Go Macro headquarters, antique and specialty shops, and The Historic Temple Theatre are just a few of the local attractions just minutes from The Arcadian. The Mississippi River is 30 minutes away and larger towns like La Crosse and Madison are both easily accessible by State Highway 14.

-The minimum age for cabin rental is 24 years of age. Exceptions may be considered on an individual basis, please contact us directly.

-There is a 2 or 3 night minimum stay, depending on the time of year.

We spent a good deal of time on the front porch and down near the creek. The property is private and beautiful. Everything worked as expected and communication was helpful. Log cabin with 1 bedroom & loft; sleeps 4 people. Main bedroom has a queen size bed, loft has 2 single beds, main living area has a queen pull out sleeper couch. One bathroom with walk in shower. Kitchen has refrigerator, electric stove, dishwasher, microwave and coffeemaker. Main living area has a comfortable couch, rocking chair, coffee table, 2 end tables, TV stand with a Roku enabled smart TV ready for your streaming subscriptions. The smart Tv has Basic antenna and Roku channels, a DVD player & DVD collection. Wireless Wi-Fi is available throughout the cabin. The outside amenities include a beautiful deck, lawn furniture, campfire pit (wood provided) and charcoal BBQ (charcoal not provided). This cabin is located in a private wooded setting on the corner of our 28 acre maple syrup farm.

The quiet is restorative and the dark nights are perfect for star-gazing. This really might be the place where you pick up a book or a well-maintained ukulele or guitar we provide, or let the hours go by in a hammock on the screened porch. We are known for top-quality comfort, including memory foam mattresses with 100% cotton and down bedding, glass and tile showers with a heated bathroom fan, Jøtul wood stoves inside and fire rings outside with seasoned firewood at the ready, and heating and cooling options that keep you cozy no matter the season. We have commercial grade WIFI, with fiber optic cable run to the property, with 100Mbit downloads, allowing you to stream movies or videoconference. There is no TV in the cabin.

There is a private bedroom with a queen size bed on the first floor, and a loft with both a king and twin bed.

The large screened in porch is accessible via the side door and has additional seating, a dining table and chairs, and a hammock.

Bed linens, towels and extra blankets are provided.

Because the cabin is shaded, the ceiling fan is often sufficient for cooling, and we also provide a high capacity window AC unit that can cool the entire cabin.

Heating includes baseboard electric heaters controlled by a thermostat, supplemental heat in the kitchen, and the option to use a Jøtul wood stove (with all fire starting materials and ample seasoned wood).

We love our canine friends, and your dog is welcome and will enjoy walking on the trails. (2 dogs max)

We are located on a wooded 75 acre property surrounded by 300 acres of protected public land with two Wisconsin DNR Class 1 trout streams (Tainter and Mcgraw creeks), filled with Brook and Brown trout. We have over a mile of hiking trails on the property for hiking, biking or snowshoeing.

The cabin is at the top of a steep private drive, 1/2 mile from the public road (Tainter Road). We have two other cabins further down the drive on our property, approximately 1/2 mile away that are not visible. Expect it to be very quiet, and very dark with views of the stars at night. Our closest neighbor is a mile away.

We are a 15 minute drive south of downtown Viroqua with great restaurants and shopping. Be sure to check out the Driftless cafe, the Food Coop, Parish Music and Driftless books.

We plow and salt our private drive after snowfalls but all-wheel drive or a 4x4 vehicles can be helpful in the winter.

This beautiful, cozy home is located in a quiet neighborhood just minutes from downtown Viroqua where you can enjoy everything the heart of the Driftless area has to offer! With an open floor plan and 5 bedrooms this home provides plenty of space for you, your family, and friends to enjoy. You are a 3 minute drive to Viroqua's Main Street or a 10-15 minute walk. Located on a quiet street with kind neighbors you'll feel right at home! All are welcome! Please read below before messaging: parking, the layout, etc.

The home is a single-story that has an open floor plan with a fully furnished basement. It is a quiet, safe neighborhood.

Sleeping arrangements:
There are 5 bedrooms in the home.
Bedroom 1: King size bed located right off of the living room on the main level - TV with Netflix access (must have your own subscription)
Bedroom 2: Queen size bed on the main level
Bedroom 3: King size bed on the main level - TV with Netflix access (must have your own subscription)
Bedroom 4: Queen size bed on the main level
Bedroom 5: Two twin size beds in the basement - TV with Netflix access (must have your own subscription)
There is also a fold away twin size bed located in the basement living room.

Bathrooms:
There are 2 bathrooms in the home both located on the main level.
Bathroom 1: Walk-in shower - no tub. The shower head does NOT detatch.
Bathroom 2: Tub only- NO shower (we do plan on adding a shower to this bathroom in the future when booking season slows down!)
There are bath towels located in the hall closet on the main level along with some in both bathrooms.

Living Spaces:
There are 2 separate living spaces in the home - 1 on the main level and 1 in the basement. This is great when you want to separate the adults from the kiddos! Both living spaces have TV with cable and ROKU access. There are plenty of throw blankets located in both areas.

Honest truth. The basement can get chilly for some - we have provided a small space heater along with extra blankets for those who may need them.

Patio:
Enjoy the patio located right off of the kitchen with outdoor seating and a charcoal grill for all of your grilling needs. We do not provide grilling supplies such as charcoal or lighter fluid. Some may get left behind from previous guests but there is no guarantee so please plan to bring your own.

Kitchen:
The kitchen was completely renovated in May of 2023.
It is well stocked with different items you may need during your stay:
silverware, cooking utensils, pots and pans, bakeware, wine glasses, plates, bowls, etc.
We have: a hand mixer, crockpot, toaster, griddle, blender, Keurig coffee maker, and a traditional coffee maker.

Laundry Room:
Located off of the kitchen. You will be provided with a set amount of detergent to use during your stay and if you use it all then you must provide the rest. There is also an iron and a small ironing board for your use.

Parking:
We have driveway that can fit 2 cars comfortably but sometimes 3 - 4 will squeeze! It is free street parking. We do not have room to store or park large fishing boats.

The home is just a 3 minute drive from downtown Viroqua or a 10-15 minute walk. Most places in Viroqua are within a 5-10 minute drive from the home: grocery stores, restaurants and bars, shopping.

We do have a ring camera located outside of the front door of the home to ensure guests are honoring our guest limit.

- "Off the beaten path log cabin. Very neat and clean. Close to trout streams, wineries, hiking, and micro breweries. The cabin is set in the beautiful hills and valleys of the driftless area where time slows down and as quietness settles in. A note for those unaccustom to some country roads, you will be on gravel roads for several miles as you approach the cabin. Driftless Creek offers a place for you to gather yourself, your family, your friends, and even your pets, surrounded by the abundance and peace of nature and all that the area has to offer. Whether it is the beautiful rolling hills, the trout streams, the inspired food offerings, or the charming towns, we look forward to hosting you in the Driftless area of Wisconsin.

The kitchen includes a full-size refrigerator, electric stove and range, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, coffee grinder, dishes and cooking supplies.

A Weber gas grill is available for your use on the porch.

Full size washer and dryer units available for your use are in the closet of the first-floor bedroom.

We have commercial grade WIFI, with fiber optic cable run to the property, with 100Mbit downloads, allowing you to stream movies or videoconference. There is no TV in the cabin.

Beds include a California king bed in the first-floor bedroom. The spacious loft includes two queen beds and one twin bed.

The large screened in porch is accessible via the side door and has additional seating, a dining table and chairs, and a hammock.

Bed linens, towels and extra blankets are provided.

Because the cabin is shaded, the ceiling fan is often sufficient for cooling, and we also provide a high capacity window AC unit that can cool the entire cabin.

Heating includes baseboard electric heaters, with separate thermostat controls for the main living area and the first-floor bedroom.

Supplemental heat is provided by a Jøtul wood stove. (with all fire starting materials and ample seasoned wood)

We love our canine friends, and your dog is welcome and will enjoy walking on the trails. (2 dogs max)

We have two other cabins on our property, all very private and not visible to each other. Expect it to be very quiet, and very dark with views of the stars at night. Our closest neighbor is a mile away.

We plow and salt our private drive after snowfalls but all-wheel drive or 4x4 vehicles can be helpful in the winter.

Bring the whole family to this great place with lots of room for fun. VERY short walk to anytime fitness, the movie theater, McDonald's, Pizza Hut and Subway. Short drive to Viroqua's thriving downtown and wonderful local restaurants. This is a beautiful, old farm house and the only residential house in the area. Washer and dryer, all cleaning supplies (dish soap, laundry soap, etc) are here, fully stocked kitchen (with basics like olive oil, salt, pepper, etc), massage chair (needed after a hard day of anything). Large 3 season room and deck.
The space
Variety of beds (plush, firm, memory foam) and pillows (bamboo, fluffy, flatter, memory foam) so everyone should be able to find something they like.
Guest access
Check in is with a keypad located on the front door. It will be programmed with the last 4 digits of the phone number you give us. There is a patio door that is locked until you open it from the inside.
Guests are welcome to explore the whole house, except the basement is just our storage.
Other things to note
Pets are welcome but please keep them on the main floor as the upstairs has new carpeting. There is a small fenced in area off the deck but it will not hold strong dogs or dogs that can jump over 4 feet (they are welcome but don't trust the fence with them).
Almost everything in the house was purchased brand new recently. Please treat things kindly so others can enjoy them as well. Thank You so much

As your Viroqua home away from home the Little Yellow House offers a central location and homey charm. The 10 ft ceilings, wood floors, and many windows make its 600 sq ft feel light and spacious. Whether you are fly fishing, taking in a dinner and a show at the Historic Temple Theater, doing a weekend class, or having a relaxing weekend walking around downtown Viroqua and the farmers market…the sweetest of home bases is the Little Yellow House.

A dine-in kitchen has a wooden table under large South facing windows, where you can work, play a game or sip your morning cup of coffee. There are new appliances, a vintage farmhouse sink, a butcher block countertop and a fully stocked kitchen. Please let us know if you are missing something you need and we will bring it right over.
The bathroom, while tiny, is bright and sunny with a low entry shower. There is no tub.
The bedroom has a closet and dresser, and queen sized bed, with extra blankets. There are also black out shades for your dark sleeping enjoyment.
The living room has a cozy sectional for you to curl up in the corner of with your favorite book, or borrow one from our collection.
The second sleeping space is a pull out couch in the adjacent den. Perhaps this is obvious: we have space for 4 people-but this is only if they are able to sleep in a bed together. We do not have the space or the linens for people to not sleep in the beds. Please make sure if you are three or four adults you do not need individual sleeping spaces.
There is a covered front porch with a seating area which is perfect for relaxing and watching the world go by.

Professional Standards:

The Maple Street King Suite is an officially licensed lodging with the state of Wisconsin and is run to a professional standard. All linens and towels (including kitchen rags and bath mats) are cleaned between every guest, ensuring cleanliness and comfort.

This suite sleeps 2 comfortably in the king bed, with room for up to 4 guests using the bean bag queen guest bed. Access to a private backyard patio and full biohacking amenities make this the perfect stay for health enthusiasts.

Guess we'll have access to the entire lower half of the house. They will also have access to the under deck patio and propane grill as well as the backyard and fire pit. The lower King suite has a private entrance on the under deck patio.

The upstairs 3 bed room Eco Retreat is rented separately and has it's own entrance as well. There is a whole house listing with both floors included as well.

Please reach out via the messaging service on the app. There is self check in via smart lock, but if you would like training and approval to use either the cold plunge or the wood stove we can meet just after your arrival to go over that. One of the three host and cohosts will be available via message during your stay if you have any questions.

Nestled in a central location, our home provides easy access to a variety of activities and Attractions: Whether you're an avid angler or a nature enthusiast, you'll find some of the best fly fishing spots just a short distance away. For those interested in eco-tourism, numerous adventures await, from guided nature walks to thrilling outdoor activities.

Walking distance from Main St where shopping and restaurants abound. Just a short distance from the local co-op. On Saturdays May-October, walk over to the farmers market where local farmers and Amish sell their goods.

Immerse yourself in the local arts and culture scene. Our home is close to Viva Art Gallery, Temple Theater, as well as Amish farms and greenhouses, offering a rich tapestry of experiences for you to explore.
Video of the whole space is taken before and after guest stays, and kept for 2 weeks. Damages will be paid for by guests.

House Rules:

Quiet Hours: Quiet time outside is after 10:00 p.m. This is a family neighborhood, and loud, inebriated partying is not allowed. Violations resulting in disturbance to neighbors or notification of local law enforcement will result in guests being asked to leave without refunds. This is a split level house, with an upstairs and downstairs rental with private entries. Please be conscientious of your volume after 10pm inside as the other space may be rented. We will let guests know if the other suite is rented during check in.

Shoes: Please remove your shoes at the door and use the provided boot trays by each entrance to help keep the floors and rugs clean and healthy for young children.

Smoking: Smoking is not allowed inside, but is allowed outside on the patio or deck, as long as you are careful with cigarette butts and flames. Please do not place cigarette butts in indoor garbage, the exterior large garbage container is fine once the butts are fully out.

Pets: Pets are not allowed to maintain cleanliness and avoid allergic reactions for future guests.

My goal was to create an very affordable 1 or 2 person space for the traveler on a tight budget, harkening back to my fly-fishing trips as a youth where every $ counted. You have the guest suite in my house. If you don't want to interact with me at all, you can keep entirely to that area and will arrive with all the connecting doors locked. You have a private exterior entry behind the garage with a key-coded door and path around from the driveway. The bedroom has a king bed and your bathroom has a walk-in shower, and a "smart" toilet with bidet function.

Access will be via coded private entry on the side of the house directly (follow the path on the right side of the garage) into the guest room. You will be provided with the code prior to your arrival.

During your stay
This is more the original AirBnB vision versus a complete vacation rental. I live and work remote from the home. I will be available as needed as you are welcome to interact in the common areas as much as you would like. My two dachshunds would love all the attention I'm sure.

That said, I won't be offended at all if you want to keep entirely to your area and I will leave you to your privacy.

You’ll find this hidden gem just north of downtown Viroqua, Wisconsin, nestled deep in a peaceful forest setting. Roughly an hour south of La Crosse Airport and two hours from Madison Airport.

From downtown Viroqua, follow local roads past farmland and forest, arriving at a timeless retreat that invites you into stillness and wonder.

Guest access
Upon arrival, your host Steve will personally guide you on a serene 3–5 minute walk through the forest to your private cabin. After that, Retreaters are free to roam and explore the entire retreat center at your own pace.

This includes The Rose cabin communal space, the stone circles, towers, Zen garden, forest bathing trails, and walking labyrinth—as well as countless other natural and created features scattered throughout the land. From hidden nooks in the woods to carefully crafted spaces of reflection and wonder, each path offers something new to discover.

The retreat is designed for exploration, so guests are encouraged to wander, pause, and connect with both the land and your own sense of stillness.

Other things to note
Each cabin has a heat source available, either wood stove or LP heater, to allow for warm and cozy stays throughout the entire year.

Each cabin is supplied with comfortable blankets and pillows for your stay. If you prefer, you are more than welcome to bring along your own bedding or favorite pillow for added comfort.

Our convenient in-town one-bedroom has recently been converted! One room has a queen bed, other room as a comfy fold out couch. It has a well-equipped kitchenette with a sink, microwave, apartment fridge/freezer, Kuerig coffee maker and more. It also has a full bath.
This apartment is on Main Street and can be a bit noisy from the traffic during the day and in the morning. It is generally quieter at night but bring earplugs if this bothers you.

The space
The Red Door Suite is the smallest of three units at 217 on Main, short term rentals in the heart of Viroqua. It is the only unit available for single-night stays. Each unit has a private entrance with a keypad lock.
You will be sent a key code for entry the afternoon before your arrival.

Guest access
The green space in the back yard with a picnic table nestled under a large maple tree is available to our guests.

Our solar powered Hillside Cabin is secluded in the woods far from other buildings and city lights. This cozy cabin does not have standard plumbing but does have a dry sink and a tank of water for washing and drinking. In addition, a newly built outhouse is behind the cabin. The cabin faces a scenic view of the valley and is located directly on the hiking trail that extends for 2 miles throughout the property. This is a very private hike-in cabin requiring vehicles to be parked 150 yards away.

The space
Our solar powered Hillside Cabin has a loft with a queen bed and a queen sized futon on the main floor. This hike-in cabin is secluded and minimizes disruption to the wildlife. It is tucked quietly into a grove of hardwood trees, including towering oak and maple. This cozy 14x10 cabin has a 4x10 front deck and 7x10 loft. The cabin does not have standard plumbing but does have a dry sink and a tank of drinking/washing water. A newly built outhouse is directly behind the cabin. This very secluded cabin is far from any other buildings and city lights and faces a scenic view of the valley and is located directly on the hiking trail that extends for two miles throughout the property. The cabin includes all bedding, dishes, silverware, cups, towels and a single butane burner for cooking. There is a propane heater and a fan. The cabin is solar powered and has a covered front porch. There is a charcoal grill included and wood can be purchased onsite for the fire pit. NOTE: This is a hike-in cabin requiring vehicles to be parked approximately 150 yards away. Although the trail leading to the cabin is wide and well groomed, it is not paved. Earthology Retreat Center is located in the Maple Dale Valley just walking distance from some of the area's best trout fishing, and is just a short two miles from downtown Viroqua. If you are visiting with larger groups, we also have our larger Eagle's Nest Cabin and hike-in camping down by the creek. Please check with us ahead of time about availability and rates.

Covid-19 Note: Due to the pandemic, we are taking extra precautions to ensure our cabins are 100% clean for our guests. In addition to sanitizing all surfaces and items in the cabins, as well as bedding, we are taking the extra step of blocking a minimum of 3 days in between each guest's stay, as the virus does not survive on most surfaces beyond that length of time. Due to these extra steps, our cleaning fees per stay are currently double what they would normally be, and our required length of stay has been increased to 3 nights. These rates and requirements will go down when the pandemic concludes.

Blue Door is our stylish 1st floor apartment is now newly painted! This inviting apartment has a bright, living room with quality leather furniture, a vintage kitchen with modern updates, two bedrooms, a full bath, and a sheltered sitting porch. It is part of a house with three apartments, all available through Airbnb. Off-street parking in the back of the house and keyless entry make it an easy in and out. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Pets welcome with the small pet fee.

The space
This apartment is one of three units which comprise 217 on Main, short term rentals in the heart of Viroqua. The apartments are distinguished by their door color. This is the Blue Door Apartment. It is located in the rear of the building on the first level. All apartments have private entrances and keyless digital locks. We love our little blue door, we have heard it was a tea house at one time

We know that it can be noisy from the upstairs guests so in 2021 we insulated the joists (it took a truck load of insulation) between the upstairs and downstairs and added sound absorbing panels in the hallway. This has helped with noise but not completely. We have ordered more panels and are adding area rugs upstair. Still, it is an older structure and the wood floors, while beautiful do have some reverberation.

Laundry facilities are shared and located in the basement and a green area with plantings and a picnic table are available to all guests. The porch is all yours.

Earthology Retreat Center is 30 acres of Driftless Region wilderness located in the Maple Dale Valley, just walking distance from some of the area's best trout fishing, and is just a short two miles from downtown Viroqua. We have two solar powered and ecologically designed cabins nestled in the woods that are connected to two miles of private hiking trails along the creek and in the valley.

The space
The Eagle's Nest Cabin is perched on a ridge top overlooking our private wooded valley. Parking is near the cabin. The interior of this ecologically designed cabin includes a living room with a queen spring mattress futon. Two ladders on either side of the living room lead to two small separate lofts, each with a twin mattress with memory foam. All bedding is included. The kitchen has a sink, dishes, pots, pans, silverware, kitchen towels, a single butane powered burner and a dorm sized fridge. The bathroom and kitchen both have running water. The bathroom has a sink, toilet, shower and super soft towels. There is a water heater and a space heater as well as a fan and ceiling fan (there's no AC). There's also a folding table and folding chairs to use for meals. Outside of the cabin there is a wrap-around covered porch, charcoal grill and fire pit. Wood can be purchased by the bundle onsite. The solar powered cabin is connected to two miles of private hiking trails on the property that run through the valley, along the creek and through the woods. If you are visiting with a larger group, we have also have our smaller Hillside Cabin available for rent and hike-in camping down by the creek (please check with us about rates and availability ahead of time).

Guests may use their rental cabins, fire pits outside their cabins and enjoy two miles of private hiking trails along the creek and through the valley.

This is the lower level of a two apartment house Yellow Door apartment above. Full kitchen, plenty of room for small family. Huge porch on the front of the house for morning coffee and evening meals in the warm months. Quiet location nestled in the cedar trees open field. Located the south side of Viroqua it is walkable to downtown. Off street parking right by the door. Pets are allowed by selecting pets when reserving. 5th person is $10 fee because of linens and pull out set up.

The space
Great space with lots of light and a full kitchen and great feeling open plan. Better photos on the way. We have a long term renter in until mid February. Personally I love this as much, or more than the upstairs yellow door. Bedroom and bathroom are bigger and the porch is amazing. Well insulated so you don't hear noise from upstairs. Very quiet but easily get to downtown and all the fun in the driftless.

This is a a turn of the century (1900s) two story home remodeled in 2020 to have a complete guest suite upstairs with private entrance. It has the character of an older building ( some cracks, some squeaks, some rough edges, etc.) and also offers an updated and clean experience that we hope appeals to most guests. It is a simple space, so please let us know if you need anything during your stay, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

*This is an older home so please set expectations accordingly. It can get warm in the summer, there is a window AC in the unit.

*One of the bathrooms is connected to the bedroom without a door dividing the bedroom and the bathroom. The other bathroom is fully private.

Upon arrival, your host Steve will personally guide you on a serene 3–5 minute walk through the forest to your private cabin. After that, Retreaters are free to roam and explore the entire retreat center at your own pace.

This includes The Rose cabin communal space, the stone circles, towers, Zen garden, forest bathing trails, and walking labyrinth—as well as countless other natural and created features scattered throughout the land. From hidden nooks in the woods to carefully crafted spaces of reflection and wonder, each path offers something new to discover.

The retreat is designed for exploration, so guests are encouraged to wander, pause, and connect with both the land and your own sense of stillness.

Each cabin has a heat source available, either wood stove or LP heater, to allow for warm and cozy stays throughout the entire year.

This recently renovated apartment has two bedrooms and a cozy sunroom. It also includes a fully updated kitchen filled with your cooking and dining utensils as well as a bathroom with a heated floor. With two queen-sized beds, this apartment can comfortably sleep four with space for an added air mattress if requested for additional guests, as well as a full sized sofa. There is also a crib that can be assembled onn request as well. One parking
spot to the furthest right is reserved for this apartment. One thing to keep in mind, this is a first-floor apartment so you may hear the upstairs tenants from time to time.

So many things to do in little Viroqua. It is a cute little town with a friendly atmosphere! This space is upstairs. It is close to the house we live in with a shared driveway. It is still private enough for your get away but we are close enough if you should need anything.

We have 2 corgis, Lola and Archie and 2 cats, Skunk and Flower. They like to come over and say hello. They are very friendly. You are welcome to let them in to say hello if you should choose to do so.

This apartment was added to the back of our detached garage about 5 years ago. Low or no VOC products were used throughout construction. Brand new appliances installed with an oven big enough to cook the biggest turkey I’ve ever dreamed of. Spectacular ridge top views and beautiful starry nights. Hiking and cross country ski trails on the property of about 75 acres. Pick hazelnuts in the fall, collect and boil your own maple sap in the spring and pick blueberries in the summer.

The space
There is additional space in the loft area for older children to sleep in your own sleeping bags. We have a couple of camping pads you can borrow if needed. The space is designed to accommodate a family with children. It would likely be too small for more than two unrelated adults. Linens are provided for the queen size sofa sleeper. Along with staying in the apartment, guests are welcome to explore our 75 acres that are adjacent to DNR property. You can hike or cross country ski on forest and prairie trails. Some of the best fly fishing in Wisconsin is right down the road.

Winter reservations PLEASE NOTE: We are on a ridge top with a long driveway that has sections with an 8% grade. Our AWD Subaru Outback gets up the hill in 6” of snow with no problems. Our plow service is generally here in 4 hours and has salt and sanding equipment. If we really get bad weather (heavy snow/freezing rain) we just wait for the service to come or go up and down the hill in our enclosed ATV with chains...country livin’. ;-)

A cozy cabin nestled in the country side of southwest Wisconsin. This cabin is located on the corner of our 28 acre organic maple syrup farm. The Amish built log cabin is in a wooded area with its own driveway offering privacy for a perfect getaway! Comfortably sleeps 4 adults, which includes a queen bed in the master bedroom, 2 single beds in a loft area, & a queen size pullout sleeper in the main room. Centrally located in the Ocooch Area of WI for excellent trout fishing.

Most of our guests enjoy the privacy they have with its own driveway. Quiet weekends having coffee in the morning on the deck or having a glass of wine in the evening watching the sunset.

Our guests have access to the entire cabin. The cabin is open concept with one bedroom, a bathroom and loft overlooking the main cabin area. Please note; the loft has a some what reduced height and the average person has to watch their head.! There is also a small lawn and area for camp fires with wood provided. Southwest Wisconsin has many areas of interest, hiking on trails, bicycling the rural farm lands of the Viroqua. Canoeing on the Kickapoo river, or fly fishing the many trout streams that encompass the driftless area. There are new appliances, a vintage farmhouse sink, a butcher block countertop and a fully stocked kitchen. Please let us know if you are missing something you need and we will bring it right over.
The bathroom, while tiny, is bright and sunny with a low entry shower. There is no tub.
The bedroom has a closet and dresser, and queen sized bed, with extra blankets. There are also black out shades for your dark sleeping enjoyment.
The living room has a cozy sectional for you to curl up in the corner of with your favorite book, or borrow one from our collection.
The second sleeping space is a pull out couch in the adjacent den. Perhaps this is obvious: we have space for 4 people-but this is only if they are able to sleep in a bed together. We do not have the space or the linens for people to not sleep in the beds. Please make sure if you are three or four adults you do not need individual sleeping spaces.
There is a covered front porch with a seating area which is perfect for relaxing and watching the world go by.

Duck Egg County Park is adjacent to our property with 900 acres and 10 miles of hiking trails. We are within 15 minutes of Westby or Viroqua. The driftless offers many varieties of music venues throughout the summer.

Perfect place to escape into nature at our cozy country cabin that is fully furnished. Our cabin is conveniently located 1.5 miles outside of Viroqua on a secluded township road, near premier trout fishing creeks and outdoor adventures. The cabin boasts a large wrap around deck. Perfect spot to relax with sounds of nature and views of the Valley. Inside this modern cabin is a loft with a king and 2 XL twins, main level bedroom with full bed and a full size sofa sleeper. The space
The Driftless Area and Historial Viroqua is a destination for "Foodies", Farm to Table restaurants, small town businesses and outdoor enthusiast. Our cabin is set up with a well equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook at home or order take out at any of our great dining experiences. We offer online shopping from our family farm. Our beef, chicken and farm fresh eggs are from our farm. We love our canine friends and allow up to 2 dogs. Do not leave the dogs unattended in the cabin. We recommend that if dogs will be staying at the cabin, that you have 4 or less guests. The cabin will be seasonally decorated. The cabin is a perfect romantic getaway or for friends, family vacation in beautiful Driftless Area. It's near off road biking trail on Hubbard Hills and snowmobile trails just down the road. Within 10 minutes you can enjoy hiking, snowshoeing and fishing at Sidie Hollow County Park and other County parks in our area. We’re 35 miles south of Mt. LaCrosse for down hill skiing. X Country Ski trails available at local golf course, Wildcat Mt. State Park and Kickapoo Reserve. Our community boosts the television host of Wisconsin Foodie, Luke Zahn's restaurant Driftless Cafe just a quick 5 minute drive or 1.5 mile scenic rural walk into town.

Guest access
The basement is accessed from the outside only through the double doors. It is heated and partially finished. The bathroom is usable with a shower, toilet and utility sink. We turn off the water to the shower downstairs when temperatures dip into the freezing point. This area is great for storing extra hunting, fishing, snowmobile gear, ski's, snowshoes and biking equipment. You can also use it for a larger area to gather with your guests and play games. The sofa/sleeper is a queen for extra sleeping area. We have for your use foosball and air hockey tables.

Welcome to Viroqua Warehouse! This beautiful historic building, built in 1906, is listed on both the National and State Historical Registers. Nestled in the heart of the Driftless Region, the property is known for its rugged terrain, picturesque landscapes, and unique geological features.

Your guest apartment in the Northern Wisconsin Tobacco Pool warehouse is 756 square feet of heaven. Colorful and loaded with character, it’s the perfect place to rest and recharge after enjoying the endless activities available in the area.

The rooms are connected or separated by a door. Both rooms have comfortable Queen beds with super-soft bedding. Furnishings also include a sofa, reading chair, desk, and round dining table, making each room multi-purpose. Wind down with a book or board game—this chill space is free of TVs.

The private kitchen is equipped with everything you need for basic vacation cooking. Coffee lovers will enjoy the Kavita-wave pour-over and French-press coffee makers with fresh coffee beans. The kitchen also has a refrigerator, gas range, microwave, blender, full set of cooking utensils, knives & cutting board, pot, pan, and cookie sheets. Plates, bowls, mugs, drinking glasses, wine glasses, bottle opener, utensils, and cookbooks are also provided. Like to keep things tidy? You’ll find a set of Public Goods cleaning supplies and paper towels.

Your apartment has a private bathroom with a shower. We provide Public Goods shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and hand soap—made with super-clean ingredients and free from harsh chemicals, naturally scented with fresh grapefruit, juicy mandarin, and Mediterranean herbs. Fluffy 100% cotton towels, toilet paper, and a hairdryer are also provided.

Please note that our guest apartment is located downstairs from where we, the residents, live. You may hear footsteps on squeaky old floorboards, the hum of the freight elevator, etc. during your stay in this big, beautiful building. We do our best to keep the noise level down to a minimum, and we also provide a sound machine and earplugs for those who are light sleepers or sensitive to noise. We want to set fair expectations so you can make an informed decision before booking with us.

Guests have front-porch access to a shared vestibule (shared with an architect’s office suite across the hall). Both the guest apartment and office doors are locked and require key access for added security. The rest of the building is private.

The Granary is the newest addition to the established Airbnb cabin hospitality of Sittin Pretty Farm. The Granary conversion to cabin meets the modern with amenities that give comfort and ease. At the same time the artful renovation gives a soulful feel of yesteryear to this country hospitality. Near Viroqua, the Granary sits on a ridge top of this hill country among Amish farms and some of the prettiest sunsets around. You'll hear the clip clop of the horse and buggy folk on the road nearby!

The space
We tried to preserve the original grace of this 100 plus year old farm building by leaving its rustic nature, at the same time adding touches of elegance and the comforts of a modern well insulated cabin. You'll see the floor joists in the ground level ceiling as well as keeping the well worn original pine flooring and weathered exterior siding. We love the play of light that streams into the building through numerous newly installed windows as well as the views they provide out onto the contours and hills of this Driftless landscape. When I sit in the building I can't help but feel the stories that gather the hard work and joys and griefs that go with the cycles of planting and harvesting and feeding the dairy cows that this Granary has seen. The Granary is yet another piece in the Sittin Pretty Farm campus that celebrates the gathering of folks for retreat, contemplation, celebration, and the decency that comes when people of many places and walks of life come with open hearts full of good will to our land and community.

Other things to note
We want to be sure you didn't miss some important parts of our listing:
* Some may find the stairs challenging. Especially the stairs going up to the third level sleeping loft which functions like a ladder. Once up in the loft the ceiling is low which requires bending over or crawling on knees.

* The Granary is near the road which makes for great Amish buggy viewing. Traffic is usually spare and quiets after sunset. Expect bigger and louder traffic during planting and harvesting seasons.

* Remember this is a rustic farm building where we intentionally left the worn pine floors, exposed ceiling timbers, and weathered siding. At the same time we tightened up the building with spray foam insulation and installed modern doors and windows to create a snug and beautiful place to sit and sleep.

Guess we'll have access to the entire lower half of the house. They will also have access to the under deck patio and propane grill as well as the backyard and fire pit. The lower King suite has a private entrance on the under deck patio.

The upstairs 3 bed room Eco Retreat is rented separately and has it's own entrance as well. There is a whole house listing with both floors included as well.

The space

The home is a single-story that has an open floor plan with a fully furnished basement. It is a quiet, safe neighborhood.

Sleeping arrangements:
There are 5 bedrooms in the home.
Bedroom 1: King size bed located right off of the living room on the main level - TV with Netflix access (must have your own subscription)
Bedroom 2: Queen size bed on the main level
Bedroom 3: King size bed on the main level - TV with Netflix access (must have your own subscription)
Bedroom 4: Queen size bed on the main level
Bedroom 5: Two twin size beds in the basement - TV with Netflix access (must have your own subscription)
There is also a fold away twin size bed located in the basement living room.

Bathrooms:
There are 2 bathrooms in the home both located on the main level.
Bathroom 1: Walk-in shower - no tub. The shower head does NOT detatch.
Bathroom 2: Tub only- NO shower (we do plan on adding a shower to this bathroom in the future when booking season slows down!)
There are bath towels located in the hall closet on the main level along with some in both bathrooms.

Living Spaces:
There are 2 separate living spaces in the home - 1 on the main level and 1 in the basement. This is great when you want to separate the adults from the kiddos! Both living spaces have TV with cable and ROKU access. There are plenty of throw blankets located in both areas.

Honest truth. The basement can get chilly for some - we have provided a small space heater along with extra blankets for those who may need them.

Patio:
Enjoy the patio located right off of the kitchen with outdoor seating and a charcoal grill for all of your grilling needs. We do not provide grilling supplies such as charcoal or lighter fluid. Some may get left behind from previous guests but there is no guarantee so please plan to bring your own.

Kitchen:
The kitchen was completely renovated in May of 2023.
It is well stocked with different items you may need during your stay:
silverware, cooking utensils, pots and pans, bakeware, wine glasses, plates, bowls, etc.
We have: a hand mixer, crockpot, toaster, griddle, blender, Keurig coffee maker, and a traditional coffee maker.
If there is something you think you might need and want to know if we have it please message me!

Laundry Room:
Located off of the kitchen. You will be provided with a set amount of detergent to use during your stay and if you use it all then you must provide the rest. There is also an iron and a small ironing board for your use.

Parking:
We have driveway that can fit 2 cars comfortably but sometimes 3 - 4 will squeeze! It is free street parking. We do not have room to store or park large fishing boats.

What is nearby?
The home is just a 3 minute drive from downtown Viroqua or a 10-15 minute walk. Most places in Viroqua are within a 5-10 minute drive from the home: grocery stores, restaurants and bars, shopping.

Pedretti's Party Barn / Vernon Vineyards - 15 minutes

We do have a ring camera located outside of the front door of the home to ensure guests are honoring our guest limit.

Tin Terra Cabin (TTC) is part of Sittin Pretty Farm. TTC is an artful rendering of home using the character and patina of old barn tin and boards accented with the elegance of finely crafted local woods including cherry, red oak, hickory and black walnut. Once inside a feeling of marvel and serenity are sure to help in making heartfelt memories. We are six miles from the attractions of "Viroqua hip" yet nestled in the plain and slow of the Amish with roadside stands cascading produce and pie!

The space
TTC was built on site by Steve and finished in 2019. This was a labor of love with the help of Amish neighbors. We used local woods like red cedar, cherry, red oak, black walnut and weathered wood to create a space that is at once old and full of character and new and invigorating. The space is about 900 square feet including an open loft with two beds and a desk/studio area. The downstairs bedroom affords more privacy. With plenty of windows including a large half round window the home basks in natural light. Though artistic in its elegant simplicity you will still find the conveniences of the modern home including running water, hot water, claw foot tub, flushing toilet, and stainless steel kitchen including a gas convection, full size oven. The front covered porch is nod to the art of porch sitting with a porch swing built for two and bent branch cushioned porch chairs. The back deck is a sweet dining spot for four and offers access to the stone pathway that takes you down to the water lily pond and further to the fire ring. Hiking along the dead end ridge road along the property provides expansive views to the West to watch the sun set.

Guests have access to the whole house including the basement where there’s a bathroom with shower and the sauna. There is also an additional bedroom.

Other things to note
This home has a window air conditioner that nicely cools the main level, but the loft can still get stuffy on the hottest of Summer days. The home has a separate entry basement level. There is an electric steam sauna and additional shower bathroom on this level that guests have access to anytime. There is also an additional bedroom with Queen bed.
The home is part of 5 acres of land that includes two Airbnb tiny houses and a Community Kitchen/ Event Barn able to host up to 99 people opening in 2022.

Bring the whole family to this large, unique 100 year old house. VERY short walk to Anytime Fitness, McDonald's, Pizza Hut & Subway. This charming, old house is the only residential home in the immediate area.

Beautiful sunny 4-bedroom home in downtown Viroqua. An artful, spacious homebase for exploring the many delights of the area. Steps from Wonderstate Coffee, the farmer's market, and other Main Street attractions, you’ll be close to everything you need while feeling tucked away in a quiet retreat. This historic home, with room after bright room of cozy nooks and modern updates, is one of the area's first and favorite Airbnbs.

The space
A bright, clean, and spacious place of respite awaits you at the Guesthouse. Comfortable, luxurious beds with all natural fiber linens, newly remodeled bathrooms, rooms filled with bespoke vintage and local art, and pollinator gardens buzzing with bees on all sides make the Guesthouse the ideal place for the thoughtful traveler.

The Guesthouse is a culmination of over a decade of both hosting and guesting, and was created to be the ideal home away from home we have found ourselves wishing for countless times as guests.

Take your pick of 4 second-floor bedrooms, with the ability to sleep 7 all together via king, queen, full, and twin beds.

1. The master bedroom has a king size bed, dresser, and full closet.

2. The green room has a full size bed and closet space.

3. The gold room features a cozy twin bed (and amazing view of the Cheese Corner).

4. The beautiful back porch bedroom, also known as the "Treehouse" has panorama window-walls on 3 sides overlooking the backyard. This room has both a queen bed and a futon that can be made up by request. This room is seasonal, as it's separated from the HVAC system and is colder in the winter and warmer in the summer than the other rooms. But if you prefer particularly cool or warm sleeping, this is where you’ll want to sleep depending on the season!

There are two full baths - one on each floor, a kitchen with everything you need to cook basic meals during your stay, living area, and indoor back porch for lounging.

There is a lovely front porch and back deck for enjoying an outdoor meal, with a fully fenced in yard, kids' playhouse, and fire pit area. When we say there's room to spread out, we mean it!

Right around the corner, you can enjoy all the amenities provided by our vibrant downtown. Take a 60 second walk around the block and you can enjoy a farm-to-table breakfast with the best coffee around, browse the Farmer's Market for local treats and Amish goodies, pop into our impressive local library, or stroll the main drag of local shops and restaurants. There are lovely paths for walking in natural places a ten minute's walk or short drive away. After you book, be sure to check out all our top recommendations in our guest guide!

We have done our research, and the guesthouse is by far the nicest lodging you can book in the area for $50/night per person (split between 5 at weekend pricing).

Notes:

- We do not provide personal toiletries, so be sure to bring your own!

- For those with certain sensitivities, we use natural cleaning products in the house for our regular turns and provide natural-fiber linens, including cotton quilts and down duvets.

- Though we do have highspeed internet, there is not a television or other digital entertainment options in the house. Be sure to bring a personal computer if you want to relax with some quality Netflix time during your stay!

Guest access
The entire place is yours for the duration of your stay, enjoy! The upper floors of the house are our guest space, and though there is a basement, know that we don't prepare it for guests in any way.

Unfortunately, our home is not currently wheelchair accessible, and one must climb a flight of stairs to reach the bedrooms, so keep that in mind if someone in your party has mobility issues. Additionally, the house is not baby and toddler-proof.

Other things to note
The guesthouse was closed from 2019-2024 due to the pandemic and renovation needs. Most of our reviews are from the “before times” when we lived in the house and rented just one room to guests in a shared space capacity. So take note of that if you were an OG guest hoping to stay again, or studying old reviews and feeling confused!

The space
This house was built in 1898 by a man named Charley Brown who was a pioneer of the local theater and music scene. It has been well loved and maintained by generations since.

It is important to note that because of the historical nature of the home, it does have it’s own character. This includes but is not limited to, occasional creaks and older windows (think The Velveteen Rabbit). If you are someone who prefers more modern accommodations then this may not be the place for you.

Guests will have the entire house and backyard to themselves during their stay in order to relax and enjoy time in this area.

Parking is in the driveway behind the garage. There are at least two spots.

Note that this house does have stairs to climb for those who may have trouble.

As it is an older home, some windows may be hard to open and take a bit of a nudge.

We like to reiterate that this is a home, NOT a hotel. Depending on the mood of the house each day there may be quirks that occur but we strongly encourage you to contact us with any questions that may come up during your stay.

Tanager is an impeccable, private cabin surrounded by woods and hiking trails, a short drive from Viroqua. Tanager, named for the Scarlet Tanager spotted on the 75-acre Driftless Creek property, has a modern style, and is full of comforts and charms for you. Tanager features a seating area with adjoining kitchen with built-in appliances, first-floor bedroom, roomy loft with a king bed, and screened porch. Tanager sleeps 5.

The space
Driftless Creek offers light-filled, clean-lines, full-amenity modern cabins, each private from the other, nestled in the woods, a 15 minute drive from Viroqua. Down a scenic dirt road, and up a private driveway, you will enter our 75 acres of ridgetop forest between two spring-fed streams. We offer almost 2 miles of trails on property for hiking, mountain-biking, or snow-shoeing. Adjacent state natural areas on 3 sides enhance the remote wilderness feeling. The quiet is restorative and the dark nights are perfect for star-gazing. This really might be the place where you pick up a book or a well-maintained ukulele or guitar we provide, or let the hours go by in a hammock on the screened porch. We are known for top-quality comfort, including memory foam mattresses with 100% cotton and down bedding, glass and tile showers with a heated bathroom fan, Jøtul wood stoves inside and fire rings outside with seasoned firewood at the ready, and heating and cooling options that keep you cozy no matter the season. Our wifi is network grade. Our water is sourced from a deep well and filtered. And our kitchens are stocked with everything you need, including a dishwasher, coffee maker, coffee grinder, and local coffee beans. Our cabins are sparkling clean and we guarantee that everything on premises is fully operational. Driftless Creek offers a place for you to gather yourself, your family, your friends, and even your pets, surrounded by the abundance and peace of nature and all that the area has to offer. The kitchen includes a compact refrigerator, cooktop, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, coffee grinder, dishes and cooking supplies. The kitchen does not include an oven.

A Weber gas grill is available for your use on the porch.

The bathroom includes a European style combined washer/dryer unit.

We have commercial grade WIFI, with fiber optic cable run to the property, with 100Mbit downloads, allowing you to stream movies or videoconference. There is no TV in the cabin.

There is a private bedroom with a queen size bed on the first floor, and a loft with both a king and twin bed.

The large screened in porch is accessible via the side door and has additional seating, a dining table and chairs, and a hammock.

Bed linens, towels and extra blankets are provided.

Because the cabin is shaded, the ceiling fan is often sufficient for cooling, and we also provide a high capacity window AC unit that can cool the entire cabin.

Heating includes baseboard electric heaters controlled by a thermostat, supplemental heat in the kitchen, and the option to use a Jøtul wood stove (with all fire starting materials and ample seasoned wood).

We love our canine friends, and your dog is welcome and will enjoy walking on the trails. (2 dogs max)

Note -- We plow and salt our private drive immediately after snowfalls but all-wheel drive or a 4x4 vehicles can be helpful in the winter as the driveway is steep and the cabin is on top of a ridge.
