- "The area was super clean, very spacious for 2 to 4 people, comfortable, and nicely appointed. We loved the coffee/tea bar. The bathroom was clean and generously supplied with towels, soaps, hair products, Q-tips, and cotton balls. The kitchen was clean and well-supplied.The relaxing massage chair and swimming pool were an added bonus. A caution to those with sensitivity to strong-ish scents, the pretty candle display could be a challenge. This is a nice place for a stay in Prarie du Chien and McGregor's Pike's Peak."

A queen size master bedroom with appropriate lighting to accommodate reading or planning the next adventure and a ceiling fan for a gentle breeze. A make up table and chair for the wife or significant other , a roll top desk for planning and or a lap top (electrical in the knee hole space). One 5 drawer dresser and an Armoire for clothes storage as well as hanging space w hangers in the closet. (You will find extra blankets and pillows there also. The bed is made and ready for your first night of 'R & R' and a week of fun and adventure .
Bedroom 2. Upgraded to a queen size bed with wall lights on each side as well as a night stand on each side A double dresser for cloth storage and a flat screen TV with basic cable and internet access. A ceiling fan for air circulation or the attic fan for air to the entire house
Bedroom 3 offers a twin bed, desk or make up area with dresser and night stand for storage, a rocking chair ready for you to take a load off your feet.
The closet in this room also has an Ironing Board and Iron if needed. Additional bedding items are on the top shelf.
and a extra air mattress Also some games for kids. The first floor single bath has towels for you to use and storage space for your personal things... There is also a full bath in the basement to the left of the stairs as you go down. This area has been completely renovated for the renters convenience .The basement area also has a washer and dryer for your benefit if needed and a freezer for your extra things during your week or more stay. If you go through the towel supply you can wash and dry another supply....just like home.
The linen supply includes 3 sets of white at least 3 sets of green and 4 sets of burgandy. There also should be two sets of bedding for each bed and a set for the day bed. All the pillows are down pillows. If you prefer foam there are three pillows in the basement area under the hanging clothes to the left of the washer and dryer.
The 'Living area' includes a round table w 4 chairs and an extra leaf creating an oval (under the bed in the Master bedroom )for eating and games. A comfortable sofa to seat three comfortably, a large round coffee table for games and eating, a swivel rocker and rocking chair and a Day bed for additional seating and sleeping . There are two additional short stools for seating as well as a childrens rocker with Mr and Mr Rabbit for a small one's needs.
Coat hooks and a bench seat when you enter the home
are available when things require hanging.
The living room at this time has a flat screen TV ...only Basic cable. Internet access is now available as well. The furnishings have real wood surfaces and are not coated for wet things. Please use coasters and cloth to prevent rings on surfaces. It is much appreciated.
There are some furnishings that are apart of the house but not a part of the rental package. The Step back cupboard and things inside are not a part of the rental usage. Please respect my personal things. Also the Armoire in this room has nothing inside you would need to use. The glass two door cabinet has ribbon and old VCr's also not available for rental usage. The two door red cabinet has some liqueur in it. Just want you to be
aware of this so your family members don't get into things they are not suppose to be in to . Thanks again
The closet in the Living room Houses 3 shelves of Kitchen small appliances and storage things for use in the kitchen. Use these items as you need them, and then, put them back when you got them. Thanks
The refurbished kitchen has granite surface counter tops with a two compartment sink w garbage disposal,
a drain rack in the second sink and a drying cloth for items on the counter. The toaster oven and microwave are ready for use. The Coffee pot (small or large)and other appliances ready for your use are in the Living Room Closet. The base cabinet to the left of the sink has pots and pans and things you might use duiring your stay. The upper cabinets to the right of the sink carry all table ware. the third cabinet door on the upper shelf has picnic things.
The frying pans for the stove are in the 3 drawer cabinet to the left of the stove. Some are Cast iron some are regular. Use the items you are comfortable with. Cast Iron takes different care than the regular pans. the first drawer has pot holders and lids.
The kitchen table accommodates 2 comfortable and 3 tight. The table in the living room accommodates extra people.
Cooling can be by AC window units or a Home Attic Fan
Use what you need to be comfortable while you are in the house. Other than High humidity and no wind the Attic fan cools very Comfortable. Using the two window units also works well to keep one comfortable.
The storage shed in the back has outdoor things that are available for your use while you are there. They include a gas grill, a small Webber grill, a round folding table and umbrella,a rectangular folding table some folding chairs, some lawn chairs and a Hammock. I hope these amenities and all the things in close proximity to my 'Homestead' make your stay comfortable and interesting for your week of adventure in Southwestern Wisconsin and Eastern Iowa

Our home is newly renovated with an open concept main level indoors and a stellar outdoor entertainment area. It is located just 2 blocks from the heart of downtown Prairie du Chien and less than a .5 mile from the Mississippi River which allows ease of walking to and from local destinations. Unwind on the large private deck, relax in front of the electric fireplace, or watch the big game on the flat-screen TV! The kitchen comes fully equipped with everything you need to whip up a home cooked meal (outdoor gas grill also at your disposal). The large island counter makes chopping and other prep easy, while you'll have all the essential kitchenware needed such as plates, glasses, and silverware for 12. You’ll have all the pots/pans, cookware and utensils needed for an enjoyable stay. There’s also a coffee maker, a toaster, microwave, stove and dishwasher. The town holds a wide range of historic landmarks to see and tour, such as the Villa Louis, Fort Crawford Museum and Dousman House. All located on the scenic island next to the Mississippi River. Spend a day on the river, touring the downtown shops, visiting historic sites, parks, restaurants, nightlife, and more. No matter what time of year you're visiting, there is plenty to do. Enter through the front door with contactless keypad entry (passcode given day of check-in). Guests may utilize the outdoor patio/entertainment area and amenities including: outdoor lounging area, grill, and fire pit. There is off street parking all year long, but remember to utilize the alternate side parking in the winter months (November through March). Guests with boats (flat bottom or v-bottom) may park them in the back, directly next to the garage. YouTube Live TV is offered along with WiFi access.

Welcome to Becwar House, a completely renovated and improved home that was built in 1905 and owned by our family since 1951. After purchasing the property from my family in July, 2020, I spent a full year renovating every room, bringing a refreshed look while maintaining the comfortable feel and character of an older family home.
The space
Improvements to the house included the removal of old space consuming radiators and the installation of a new state-of-the-art heating and cooling system, particularly designed for older homes. The new open floor plan on the first level is great for larger groups or families. You will also find many other modern conveniences of home:

HOUSE OVERVIEW:

KITCHEN: This room was redesigned to provide more open space with all new appliances and lighting. If you’re looking to make some meals during your stay, you’ll find it’s well equipped with dishes, utensils, pots, pans, blender, coffee maker, etc along with every appliance you’ll need, including a dish washer. It even includes a coffee station with free coffee (caffeinated and de-caffeinated) and filters, tea, condiments, and device recharging receptacles (4 USBs) and cable.

DINING ROOM: This a great room for meals and social gatherings with a large farmhouse style dining room table that seats 8 comfortably and a large buffet, soon to be stocked with plenty of board and card games.

BATHROOMS
• Bathroom 1 – Located on the first floor next to the kitchen with shower.
• Bathroom 2 – Located on the second floor with tub and shower. Please
note the vanity contains docking space and power sources
for both a hair dryer and a curler.

LAUNDRY: A full-sized stackable washer and dryer are located on the second floor in the hallway next to the master bedroom.

BEDROOMS
• Bedroom 1 – First floor bedroom has a queen size bed
• Bedroom 2 – Second floor West bedroom has two twin beds
• Bedroom 3 – Second floor South bedroom has a queen size bed
• Bedroom 4 – Second floor East master bedroom has a king size bed

LIVING ROOM: The living room is off of the dining room area on the first floor. It provides comfortable seating and ample lighting, plus a comfy sleeper sofa. This room also has a large 55” flat screen TV, free WiFi, and free access to YouTube TV, Prime Video, and Netflix.

PORCHES: The front porch provides a separate area to relax in a comfy chair to read a book or nap or for more private conversations away from the main living areas. It’s also has air conditioning vents for a comfortable guest setting. The back porch also provides addition space for two people to visit and sit for morning coffee.

• Patio furniture is in the works, but for now only a few lawn chairs. If you
have a larger group and enjoy relaxing outdoors together, you may want

Every living space has been updated and boasts a very comfortable, homey feeling. We bought our 1970's home 4 1/2 years ago in its original condition. Since then, we've worked endless hours on updating and modernizing the property. We’ve enjoyed many nights on the outdoor patio hosting friends, grilling out, and playing games, along with cooking s'mores over the fire. Guests have access to all of these amenities as well as a one car garage stall (provided with advanced notice.)
If you’re spending the day on the river, take advantage of nearest boat landing less than 1 mile away!

The Blackhawk Avenue Loft is located in the center of Historic Downtown Prairie du Chien. The apartment was recently renovated and is now available as a great getaway space. The loft is open concept living room, dining room and kitchen. There are two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. hardwood floor throughout and tile in the bathrooms. You are within walking distance to the Mississippi River, St. Feriole Island and the Prairie du Chien Marina. All of the downtown restaurants, bars and shops are within one block or two from this location.

Guests have full access to the home along with a private floating dock included. Boats can park along the side of the dock. There may be times of low or high water when its unavailable and sometimes unavailable due to plant growth.
We love to give our guest their space to enjoy their time. We are always available by phone or text if anything is needed.
This property is located along the bank of the Mississippi River backwaters called Gremore Lake. The river poses safety issues and should be respected. Life jackets are required (not provided) on the dock/shoreline for children under the age of 12. The bank of the river consists of loose rocks that will slide and should not be climbed on. When the river level is above 13' in pool 10, there may be current in the lake. This is usually only in the early spring. The dock is not accessible from the lake when the river level is under 7.5 feet. a link to the current river level is

We have had guests park and anchor boats off the point when water levels are low as its a slightly deeper.

This home sleeps 6 comfortably, with the master bedroom and bath on the main level & a loft featuring two queen size beds (all new Tempur-pedic mattress toppers). The loft bedroom has its own bathroom, as well.

A recreation/family room is located on the lower level that includes a seating area, futon, and a screened in porch. Play board games and watch TV/Stream movies on rainy or quiet days.

Just a short walk to the Mississippi River with beautiful views of the bluffs and ever-changing foliage. St Feriole Island has many flourishing gardens that would be appreciated by anyone.

Just a short drive to state & national parks. Local UTV routes nearby. Kayaking, fishing, and almost any outdoor sport are made for our region. Hiking trails are plentiful and can be used year-round.

If shopping is more your style, there are a variety of shops right down the street to satisfy almost anyone's fancy. The Cannery has over 20,000 square feet of treasures to peruse.

Just across the river, Mc Gregor & Marquette, Iowa have even more unique shops. The Paper Moon and By the Spoonful are a couple of my favorites.

This home is on a wooded lot with trails to explore on site. There is a lofted bedroom with two beds and a work space - this loft overlooks the living room on the main floor. On the main level there is a kitchen, dining, living room, full bath and bedroom. Lower level features a rec room with bar, a bedroom, full bath and laundry room. Deck on upper level and patio on lower level. It is adjacent to UTV/ATV trails, just 7 miles to Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin - where there are many bars, restaurants and shopping.

There is a full size bathroom with a walk-in shower and single sink with mirror. The bedroom has a queen size bed and TV. Also a window air conditioning unit is located in the bedroom and living room. The apartment is located upstairs so there is steps to climb, but a railing for assistance. The apartment is also located near a train track, but ear plugs are provided. During your stay there is a charcoal grill available to you as well as bean bag boards. During those rainy/snowy days we have puzzles, cards, and board games to keep you occupied. There is also parking available for cars and boats/trailers.

The 2nd bedroom has a bunk bed with a twin-sized mattress on top and a full-sized mattress on the bottom as well as 2 sleeping pads with linens located under the lower bunk.

Wildlife is abundant including routine sightings of bald eagles, herons, storks, geese, ducks, and a wide variety of birds and other wildlife such as beaver and deer. Fishing is excellent right off the dock. The islands in the river are within paddling distance of the cabin and have amazing sloughs to explore so feel free to bring kayaks or a canoe. Take a walk on the paved road with water on both sides and immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of nature. There is private gravel parking on both sides of Ambro road.

Welcome to Becwar House, a completely renovated and improved home that was built in 1905 and owned by our family since 1951. After purchasing the property from my family in July, 2020, I spent a full year renovating every room, bringing a refreshed look while maintaining the comfortable feel and character of an older family home.

Improvements to the house included the removal of old space consuming radiators and the installation of a new state-of-the-art heating and cooling system, particularly designed for older homes.
