We were able to bring our large dog which is one of the primary reasons we selected this place. The house is well equipped with everything you need. The drive to Madison is quick and easy too. The apartment was very modern and clean. If anything it was a bit empty feeling with very little decoration; I happen to like this when renting a house/apt it just looks more clean and I don't like moving around someone's stuff to use counterspace. However, if you are looking for a lot of personality in your rental you won't get it here. What you will get is a very clean and modern space that feels brand new! We loved the smart TV which allowed us to log into our Netflix and Disney Plus accounts with no issue. Really enjoyed staying here a lot. We were hear for a gaming conference and the Alliant Energy Center was an easy 15 min drive away. Really no complaints and would highly recommend, especially for the great price. This was much cheaper than a hotel room and much, much nicer."

Our 900 sqft basement apartment features a master bedroom, connecting kitchenette/sitting room, and bathroom. We are a 20-minute drive to the UW campus, Capitol Square, and Dane County Airport—minutes from Middleton Pheasant Branch Conservancy for hiking and biking. Madison and Middleton consistently win "Best Places to Live" awards for quality of life.
And did I mention we are pet-friendly?

- "We feel like we were staying with new family members, Phil and Vicky (and Taz) were so welcoming with a heavy dose of Midwest hospitality. Only a few issues with some cobwebs throughout the unit, a freezer which needed attention (needs defrosting), and some details in the bathroom needing attention. Otherwise, the space (huge!) and privacy are all unmatched. We will not hesitate to stay here again, hopefully next time a little later in the season when we can use the massive pool! The space
This home was built in the 1880's and was the first Post Office in Middleton. We have central gas heat and air conditioning to make the humid Wisconsin summer and cold winters more comfortable. This space is functional, clean and comfortable. It is not trendy, lavish or overdone. If modern finishes matter to you please move on. Basement has a full bath and laundry. Main level has the master bedroom, living, dining, kitchen, side entrance 3 season porch and front entrance 3 season porch. Second floor has a full bath with tub/shower and two bedrooms.

Guests have access to the majority of the house. There is one upstairs bedroom which is locked, that's a room our family keeps for themselves. The basement has a finished bathroom and a laundry room. We ask that guests do not rummage around in the unfinished portions of the basement. A large three season porch on the Terrace Ave side is wonderful when weather permits. An entry three season pourch on the Parmenter St. side can be used for boot, bike or whatever storage.

Other things to note
This historic home on the corner of Terrace Avenue and Parmenter Street has been part of the fabric of Middleton since the 1880s. The Middleton historic society has several stories about this home interwoven with the fact that it was once the Middleton post office. Around that time Mr. Parmenter, one of the first Post Masters in Middleton lived in the home. Parmenter Street is named after Mr. Parmenter. The historical society and museum is a few blocks away near the police station. The Acker family still owns the home and raised 8 children in the home between the 1950s and 2000s. If you're visiting local Middleton businesses and you meet some old timers just tell them you're staying at the Acker's!

This is a two story building which was home to my family’s portrait studio. My residence is on the first floor behind the studio. Your “apartment” is the entire 1700 sq ft second floor. It consists of a living room, dining room, kitchen, master bedroom with its own bathroom, a second bedroom with a separate bathroom, a small sitting room, a laundry room available by request, and a sunroom which we converted into a supply room for the Airbnb. We are No Smoke/ No vape on the entire property.
