The spacious primary bedroom has a king bed and offers a private porch, a small sitting area with a gorgeous view, smart TV, a private full bathroom with a large shower and also an attached room with two twin bunk beds. The second bedroom has a king bed, a large closet and a smart TV. The full kitchen includes new appliances and has an expansive island ready for any cooking, prepping and gathering. The dining room table seats 6 plus a bar table that holds 2 more. Plenty of places to unwind, either in the living room with the large screen TV or in the relaxing sunroom with ample amount of windows to enjoy the sunset over the lake and the eagles flying up above. Outside is spacious with plenty of room to spread out. A patio area to sit and relax, plenty of green space for yard games or the large dock with seating and a bench to enjoy the lake view.

Note, this body of water is part of the historic Chippewa River, downstream of the Xcel Energy Jim Falls Dam, water levels fluctuate. Currents and water levels are unpredictable - use at your own risk.

Wissota State Park: Whether you want to go for a hike or relax on the sandy beach, Wissota State Park should be on your vacation to-do list. Only a 10 minute drive and it offers a large, family-friendly sandy swimming and picnic area, located on historic Lake Wissota, and is set in a beautiful northern wooded area for walking and hiking. Old Abe Trail: If biking is your thing to do, you are only 3 blocks away (less than a 2 minute bike ride) from the Old Abe Trail. This trail offers 28 miles of beautiful (bike or snowmobile trail) riding along the river and landscapes of the Chippewa Valley. Old Abe Trail links up to over 70 miles of trails throughout the Chippewa Valley. You can spend your whole vacation on your bikes or snowmobiles and visit many of the quaint eateries and historic sites in the area.

Leinie Lodge: Located less than 20 minutes away is the historic Leinie Lodge. Leinenkugel brewery was founded in 1867 and has been a huge part of history for Chippewa Falls. This 120 year old home is fully renovated with all of the character and charm left in place. Our home has two gas fireplaces perfect for cold winter nights. The home is equipped with Kenmore Elite appliances.

Spend the evening in our quaintly lit back yard. Take in the sunset on the porch and be sure to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner on the deck overlooking the city. Enjoy a nice fire on the brick patio or soak away your stress in our outdoor hottub. Please note the outdoor hottub (seasonal) May 1- Thanksgiving. The bottom level has a generous amount of toys, for our 4 1/2 YO granddaughter and an extra refrigerator (which is a must) large tv, foosball table and two bedrooms. - "This is such a beautiful property. The accommodations are like new. The access to the lake is a very well maintained 55 steps away. There are rafts and kayaks to use along with a floating dock to relax on. Checking in was a dream. There is a code on the door that is sent to you the day you check in. There is a tv in the living room with complimentary Appletv and board games to enjoy. There is also a little patio with a fire pit where we roasted marshmallows with provided roasting sticks hanging on a nearby tree. In walking distance, there is a local, friendly bar and a few steps further a beautiful supper club with excellent food. You are also just a few driving minutes away from great breweries, restaurants, ice cream parlors and shopping. We didn't see our host or hostess which was absolutely ok because if you need anything just shoot them a message and they get right back to you. We will definitely keep this in mind for future getaways. Already talking about bring our adult children back with us some day. This place sleeps 8 very comfortably. The cabin was cozy and it was fun to go out on the lake with the tandem kayak. We must not of read the description closely and came with food to prepare several meals. We were able to pivot and use the fire pit or microwave for cooking instead. It was wonderful to wake up to a chorus of birds or sit next to the fire in the evening and watch the sun set in the distance. Highly recommended!"

It's a quiet lake during the week and an active one on the weekends. There are 5 waterfront restaurants/bars on the lake that you can boat right up to. If you want a day off the lake, take a tour of the historic Leinenkugel Brewery or visit Irvine Park Zoo. Both are just 10 minutes from the lake. Don't forget your golf clubs and bike. There is a public golf course on the lake and the area features great bike trails. This is a cozy house located on Duncan Creek where you’ll hear the lovely sound of rushing water and will likely spot some eagles.

The space
This 1930s house was part of a small resort in the first half of the 20th century. It has been completely made over with wood panelling throughout the space and a number of modern touches.

The four season porch looks out over the deck and onto the water. Large windows throughout flood the space with natural light year round.

Accessing the water is only 15 stairs to the dock. We provide a canoe and paddles for guests to use. The dock is both boat and jetski accessible. The dock is available for use mid April through mid October (weather permitting).

Our section of the lake is at the mouth of the Yellow River and stays calm even on windy days. Guests can explore the Yellow River to the east for over 25 miles or get out into the more open spaces of Moon Bay and Lake Wassota.

The space can be heated with the wood stove in the living room or electric baseboard heaters distributed through the space.

Other things to note
Please note, the second bedroom in the loft is accessible via spiral staircase. Due to space constraints, the staircase is slightly undersized and may be difficult for some guests to navigate.

Our section of the lake is a non-swimming shoreline.

The kitchen sink water gets hot quickly. Use caution.

The dresser in the loft isn't attached to the wall. Don't open all the drawers at once and don't allow children to play on the dresser.

The full bath is only accessible through the main bedroom.

The half bath is accessible through the kitchen and also serves as a pantry and cleaning/supply room.

The space
Little Lake Wissota is part of the 6300 acre Wissota water and fishing paradise. This home has a fully equipped kitchen, TV, washer, dryer, dishwasher, free WiFi, back deck and central air. The location on a quiet cul-de-sac is not far from various eating establishments. The famous Leinenkugal Brewery and two wineries are close by for tours and tasting.
Across the road is Ray's Beach, a large public sand beach. The Old Abe (paved) biking trail offers great biking along the Chippewa River. Irvine Park in Chippewa Falls is a great place for families with a kid-friendly pool and petting zoo. Lake Wissota State Park is just across the lake offering swimming, picnicking, camping, hiking and biking trails and water rentals.
Area events include: Country Jam, Country Fest, Rock Fest, Eaux Claires Music Fest, Northern Wisconsin State Fair, Pure Water days and many other great events in the surrounding area. Check with Chippewa Area Chamber of Commerce for more detailed information.

Welcome to our amazing getaway on the water! Our 1400 square foot cabin is on the Yellow River/Moon Bay, with direct access by boat to Lake Wissota. Dock is available for your boat or for you to fish, swim, or just sit and enjoy the view. Our cabin has a spectacular view of the water from the living room, a fire pit overlooking the lake, and a stairway of 24 steps that leads to the dock. Close to Wissota State Park.

Our cabin is cozy in the cooler months and so much fun in the summer!

The space
The original part of our cabin was built in 1920, but it is now a year-round updated house that has been added to over the years. (You will notice this has led to a funky but fun floor plan.)

We use our cabin quite a bit in addition to renting, so we have all the amenities we like: a kitchen with lots of cooking utensils and appliances (including dishwasher), washer/dryer, Wifi, plenty of parking, a small gas grill, and a three-season screen porch. Our TV has local channels and internet access (but no cable), and you can use our Netflix account or log into your service of choice.

Our internet service is excellent. We also have a new central air unit to keep the house cool even in the hottest days of summer.

Our cabin is safe for small children! Our waterfront is completely fenced and the stairs to the water are protected by a gate. We have a pack-n-play and a high chair (the kind that straps onto a kitchen chair) for use.

It is great for adults too! There are a number of seating areas (kitchen table, dining room table, pub-style table in the living room, three-season porch, deck, fire pit) so there is lots of space for friends to gather.

There is a boat landing that is perfect for canoes and kayaks (and small motorized craft) about a half mile down the road. Lake Wissota State Park has a larger boat launch just 3 miles away.

The fishing in our bay is amazing! Recently some friends caught walleye and bass while sitting on the dock.

And don't overlook fall, winter, and spring! We have a fabulous gas fireplace that makes our living room so cozy, so you can snuggle by the fire while gazing out the big bay windows at the frozen lake. We don't do it ourselves, but our neighbors say the ice fishing is great in our bay. Lake Wissota State Park has great cross country skiing, or many people ski or snowmobile on the frozen bay.

The space
Our lakefront home has 4 bedrooms (1 king, 2 queen, and 2 twin beds), a full kitchen, and living room with TV. We have 1 full bathroom on the main level with a shower/bathtub and a half bathroom (toilet and sink only) downstairs. The dining room overlooks the lake with 8 comfortable chairs and a new 50" TV perfect for meetings or game nights. Outside there is a backyard with a private dock and lake access. Please note:
- There is NO garage access for guests but plenty of parking in the driveway.
- Absolutely NO parties (including bachelor or bachelorette)
- Quiet hours (including firepit) start at 10pm, as we have a quiet neighborhood and a good relationship with our neighbors.

The space
This house has two PLUS bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, full kitchen, living room and a sunroom and a large conveniently located laundry room.

The spacious primary bedroom has a king bed, small sitting/office area inside overlooking the water, a private sun patio porch outside that also has views of the water, smart TV, private full bathroom with double sinks, private toilet closet, and a large shower.

The primary bedroom also includes a semi private, attached room with two twin bunk beds.

The second bedroom has a king bed, large closet and smart TV.

The full kitchen includes new appliances and an expansive island ready for cooking, prepping and gathering. Enjoy the special touches, like the huge pantry, the in-refrigerator ice-maker, silent dishwasher, and Nepresso coffee machine. Plus don’t miss the big game if you are prepping dinner, instead enjoy the big screen TV right on the kitchen wall. The dining room table seats 6 plus a bar table that holds 2 more.

Living room has a pullout bed that can sleep two and a large screen smart TV. Plenty of spaces to unwind after spending a day on the lake, either in the living room or in the relaxing sunroom with ample amount of windows to enjoy the sunset over the lake and the eagles flying above.

Outside is spacious with plenty of room to spread out. A paved patio area to sit and relax, a grassy fire pit area, and plenty of green space for yard games and seating on the dock to enjoy the lake view.

Guest access
The main floor and expansive dock area (bring your lake fun) of this spacious home is accessible to renting guests. The basement, 2 garages and boat house are for owners use only. Owners will not stay there while guests are present but may access these areas occasionally during your stay.

The layout includes a curtain-separated main bedroom, and a front bunkhouse area with two twin beds, a queen bed, and an additional living space. The one bathroom, with shower, sink, and toilet, is located off the main bedroom.

This is not a luxury stay, but a relaxed place to slow down, enjoy the outdoors, and make memories.

The private yard and dock offers the tranquility of sunset views, access to the 6400 acre lake, and relaxing campfires. A canoe, and kayaks are provided, or rent a pontoon on the lake. Grill, or cook in the well equipped kitchen, or visit one of five great restaurants on the lake. Visit downtown Chippewa for shopping, homemade ice cream, a candy store and a must visit is the historic Leinenkugel's Brewery.

The space
Home features 4 bedrooms with 5 beds. There are 2 full baths, a well equipped kitchen, living room, dining room, family room, and office space with executive desk. There is a fire pit to relax around with complimentary wood to burn. The dock provides easy access to the lake and the Yellow River. We provide a canoe, kayaks, and life vests for all ages. The water at the dock is shallow and gets lily pads and vegetation later in the season, so not conducive for swimming. However Ray's beach is five minutes away and provides a sandy beach, picnic areas, restrooms, and is handicap accessible. Ray's beach is within walking distance to two great restaurants. Wissota State Park offers a great beach which is a 1.3 mile kayak or canoe trip., or drive 10 minutes to the park to hike or bike. There are games and a TV with internet if you wish to stay inside.

We do allow pets on a per case basis. If you want to bring your beloved pet/s, reach out and we will do our best to accommodate. Pet cost is 40.00 per pet, per day, and an additional 50.00 cleaning fee.

Downtown Chippewa Falls is 15 minutes away, offering shopping, fine dining, homemade ice cream and candy stores. Be sure to visit the Leinenkugel Lodge and beer garden. Wissota State Park is 10 minutes. Hike or bike the many trails through the park, or jump on the Old Abe State Trail, a 19.5-mile paved multi-use rail trail that runs along the Chippewa River.

The entire home is yours to enjoy. Dock provides easy access to kayaking, canoeing and boating on the lake. The area in front of the dock is shallow, has lily pads and floating logs that come in from the river, so not ideal for swimming.
However, there are two wonderful sand beaches close by; Ray's Beach is 5 minutes away, and Wissota State Park Beach is 10 minutes away. We keep a pontoon on the dock, and on occasion may access it.

Other things to note
Airbnb does not offer customer service or insurance to guests who don't have an official reservation through the platform. A guest is anyone on the property, including visiting for the day.
Therefore, we require all adult guests to be registered guests by joining the reservation.

Current pricing is for 4 guests, any guest over 4, and up to 8, is 25.00 per guest per day/night. Only Registered Guests are Allowed.

Guests have access to kayaks, a paddleboard, aluminum canoe, and 1 large lilypad float. There are several inflatables for kids to use on the water as well. If you choose to bring a boat, let us know so we can provide further instructions! There are several boat rental options on Lake Wissota as well. Go swimming by the dock, enjoy the water toys, or head out to Mermaid Island sandbar - a beautiful spot about 50 feet wide, 150 feet long, and 2 feet deep, only 250 yards from the Mermaid Bay Getaway dock!

In addition to our beautiful Wisconsin summers, visit Mermaid Bay Getaway during the Autumn season to view the beautiful colors and visit many apple orchards and wineries nearby. Winter is also a wonderful time to visit for great ice fishing, nearby snowmobile trails, and plenty of skiing and snowshoeing opportunities in the area. Spring brings many nearby sporting and music events. No matter the season, Mermaid Bay Getaway is sure to impress!

- Several exterior stairs are required to access the on-site lake

- There is another lower-level vacation rental on-site; however, the unit will be unoccupied. Other travelers will not be present during your stay
- The homeowner lives on-site part time, in a completely separate unit with a separate entrance, and may be present during your stay
- Guests with severe allergies should be aware before booking that 2 cats live part-time in the homeowner's unit. The cats are never allowed inside this unit, whether it's occupied or not
