It includes a full kitchen, full bathroom, laundry, a queen bed, and two twin beds. Plenty of parking.

Sheets, pillows, and blankets supplied. Guests are welcome to use the playground and park-like yard with trampoline, as well as enjoy fresh produce from our garden during the summer. Originally built in the 1920s - lots of history and clean updates. Perfect for outdoors, explorers, creative, romantic. King and queen beds, very homey and cozy wooded lot past farms, down a long gravel drive. Fall in love with the St Croix River area and enjoy the magic it has to offer.

30 minutes from shopping, but you will feel like you are miles and mile away from it all - no need for 2-4 hour drives "up north". You’re just minutes from Afton State Park and all it offers! Multiple beaches and two small towns (Afton & Prescott) within 15 minute drive: Lake St Croix, Prescott City Beach, and Point Douglas Beach.

Year round proximity: Many quaint river towns to explore such as Ice cream in Afton, Hudson for its restaurants and riverfront vibe. . Antiques in Stillwater and Osceola. Prescott for beaches and scenic drives in Wisconsin.

Quick drives: See the moon rise in Hudson, it is amazing! Do this after a night out to dinner at San Pedro’s restaurant…. If antiques and boutiques are your thing hop over to Stillwater. Grab a picnic at the Co-Op and eat by the riverfront. Up for even more adventure rent an electric bike there and cross over the new pedestrian bridge that leads to Osceola….

Afton State Park is 5 minutes away for 1400+ acres of hiking with its miles of trails and a public beach and St Croix Bluffs is around 10 minutes away. For a longer drive you have even more options:, William O'brien, the cliffs of Interstate, Willow River waterfall, the sand bars and river of Kinnikinnick

After one of these come back to a quaint cottage built in the 1920’s and listen to the sounds of nature or have a bon fire in the Chiminea.

In winter you have snowshoeing, downhill skiing, cross country skiing.

In autumn: berry picking, orchard, pumpkins, leaves.

In summer St Mary's point Riverfront Park with its gorgeous beach or the Historic Docks in Afton at Windmill Marina just to see the boats and take in the activity on the river.

In spring hear the birds as the spring migration takes place!

In Winter ski Afton Alps and Snow shoe Afton State Park. Beautiful trails with views of the river!

A couple of considerations: In WINTER a good vehicle with AWD or 4x4 is essential as the driveway can get long and icy.

Also NOTE: that the steps in the photo with the a green handrail are steps to the cottage entrance. They are lovely historic limestone steps that are uneven and a bit long. Although charming and quaint it may not appeal to all. Please consider other stays if you feel that you struggle with balance and or vision issues and access would be a problem. Even though you are 20 minutes from a mall and 35 from the airport this feels like the WILDERNESS.

Pontoon fee of $200 per day is taken from deposit, if 3 days or more are requested, a larger deposit is required to cover days of use. 3 days use=$800 deposit, 4 days use= $1000 deposit, etc. If pontoon is reserved for 1 day use, $400 will be returned from deposit so long as no new damages are found, and fuel tank is returned full.

- No Smoking Indoors: Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the property. Smoking is permitted outdoors at least 20 feet from the cabin. A fine of $300 will be applied if the guest is found in violation of this policy.

Pet Policy:

- No Cats Allowed: Please note that we do not cater cats in the property.

- No Unattended Pets: Do not leave dogs unattended in the cabin. Guests who leave pets unattended will be fined $300.

- Leash Requirement: Dogs must be leashed at all times to avoid disturbing neighbors and wildlife. Complaints may lead to eviction and forfeiture of remaining nights.

- Cleanliness: Please leave the property in the same condition as you found it. Dispose of trash in the designated bins.

- Report Issues: Immediately report any damages or issues to the host.

We can also accommodate early check-ins whenever the property is ready and no issues are present. We update our guests on any possibility of an earlier check-in!

Here at Pilgrim's Roost I have 2 Private Guest Rooms both w/ their own B’s. Guest Rm#2(black 4 poster bed) is listed as Riverfront Birdwatchers Natures Retreat Near Afton and Guest Rm#1(light pine 4 poster) is listed as Riverfront Ski Retreat near Afton Alps and they can be rented as one for fun get-togethers w/ family or friends. Or rented separately. Both share the 24/7 Coffee Bar, Decks and Patios. And in the summer the dock.
At this time , I am only taking one booking at a time so as not to have guests share common spaces with other guests. Guests have mentioned it feels rather retreat-like. And, I am fully vaccinated.

Beautiful country setting 2 miles from scenic Highway 61, only a few miles from Hastings, Cottage Grove, and Prescott, WI and less than 30 min to Mpls/St. Paul and many attractions. We are located just minutes from the St. Croix River, Mississippi River, and Afton Alps State Park and Ski Resort. This is a newly-built private guest suite with a private entrance. It includes a full kitchen, full bathroom, laundry, a queen bed, and two twin beds. Plenty of parking.

The Guest Suite is five minutes from Carpenter Nature Wildlife Center, St. Croix Bluffs Regional Park, and Afton State Park and Ski Resort, which hosts a collection of ski and snowboard trails, located along the St. Croix River. The Guest Suite is located just over an hour from Mayo Hospital in Rochester, MN and 30 minutes from the MSP Airport.

You will be just a few steps away from the Carpenters Nature Center and can access the trail system out the back of the 7acre property. Here you can walk the river bank of the St Croix River or explore several miles of trails.

Located 15 minutes south of Afton MN where you can enjoy Afton Alps Ski Resort, Afton State Park, or grab ice cream from Selma’s.

Updated country home located one mile north of Afton Alps ski hill and golf course. We are across the road from Afton State park with miles of walking trails and the St. Croix River. You will love how peaceful this space is. There is also a fire ring and plenty of firewood to enjoy sitting outside. Large patio to enjoy coffee in the morning or a barbeque. The space
The custom house is very unique with loads of charm set near the confluence of the Mississippi and St Croix Rivers. Here you’ll have all the amenities you could ever need for a relaxing weekend getaway or month long stay.

We feature a year round 24/7 heated indoor pool with hot tub, but the fun doesn't stop there. We also have a rec room with sauna, wet bar, pool table (play standard or with blacklight glow in the dark pool), many games including the very addictive and fun for the whole family game of crokinole.

You will be just a few steps away from the Carpenters Nature Center and can access the trail system out the back of the 7acre property. Here you can walk the river bank of the St Croix River or explore several miles of trails.

Located 15 minutes south of Afton MN where you can enjoy Afton Alps Ski Resort, Afton State Park, or grab ice cream from Selma’s.

Shared Areas:
Our Shared areas are EXCLUSIVE to your group, but are not secured/private. Your host family lives upstairs and avoids use of these areas when guests are present. We rent to only ONE group at a time, so you will never share space with other guests.

The space
This home is designed with comfort and style in mind. Everything you need to feel at home is supplied. No need to make a last minute run to the store for laundry detergent or shampoo and conditioner, as all is provided for your convenience. Not to mention a well equipped coffee station and throw blankets for a cozy morning.

Guest access
Once used as a hotel and school in the now ghost town on Nininger prior to being moved to its current location, this historic home has three units total, all with their own private entrances. This is unit 402 and is entirely yours to enjoy and completely private! You will access your unit using the keypad on the doorhandle using the last 4 digits of your phone number that will be set for your stay specifically

Other things to note
There is one security camera located outside near the parking. This security camera is not viewed unless an issue arises.

**With the property being a historic home built almost 170 years ago, the home has some creaky boards and steps leading to the upper units. It is possible that footsteps and noises are heard from the above units.

Our river home is located on the Mississippi River with gorgeous views and lots of space for entertaining friends and family. Bring your own boat and tie it up to our spacious dock.

The space
Our home has a large master suite with walk-in shower and separate jacuzzi tub. Our Junior suite has a private deck and its own bathroom with a shower. Our other two bedrooms have full/twin bunk beds.

Other things to note
Our dock can accomodate two large boats. Boat access is a short 2 blocks away at Hastings Marina.

The main floor master suite with private walkout, a comfy king size bed and spa like bathroom with walk in closet are amazing!

Upstairs you’ll find 3 queen bedrooms with spectacular eagle views and river action! Complete with beautiful linens and farmhouse decor.

The Loft, bedroom 4, upstairs, found through the old doors salvaged from the original home, has 3 twin sized beds and a desk for your laptop.

Don’t worry, 1 and 1/2 bathrooms will keep everyone happy!

The kitchenette has everything you need for making breakfast and lunch and maybe head downtown for dinner? There is a full size refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, electric frypan, crockpot, air fryer, coffee pot, toaster and a grill on the deck!

The deck upstairs has an old picnic table from a German brew house and some wicker seating … we’ve put in glass railings so you can really enjoy those views!

The gathering room has a large sectional and coffee table, a breakfast bar and dining table for 6. Movie nights are the best with the huge TV!
(The TV is internet only for Netflix, Prime, etc.)

Hastings Haven is exclusively yours, without interruption during your stay, so relax, unwind, and make yourself at home. You will get access to the home via a Door Code.

Health, safety, and well-being of our guests are of utmost importance. For this reason, we use a thorough cleaning process after each check-out.

★ NO SMOKING INSIDE ★

Please refrain from smoking inside the home (including the garage)! Any smoking evidence will incur a fee for odor removal and furniture cleaning.

★ NO PARTIES/EVENTS ★

We kindly ask you to treat our home as your own to preserve its pristine condition for future guests and your return visits.

★ HOUSE RULES★

- Must sign a rental agreement upon booking
- Quiet hours are between 10 pm-8 am.
- 12 guests maximum strictly enforced.
- No smoking of any kind anywhere is allowed on the property, including the garage.
- Due to our API connection and liability, we must have a signed Rental agreement with a copy of your driver's license at the time of booking.
- There is a $500 security hold that will be placed 2 days prior to arrival and released 7 days after departure if no damage is reported.
- There is one exterior security camera at the front door.
- Check-in: 3 pm -10 pm
- Check-out: 10 am
