The Neighborhood
In western Wisconsin, St. Croix Falls has become a destination for people who want to go places.

It's the western terminus of the 1,000-mile Ice Age National Scenic Trail, which traces the last glacier as it began to melt and retreat northward, leaving a marvelously lumpy patchwork of rock, rubble and river gorges.

It's the southern trailhead of the 48-mile Gandy Dancer State Trail, a scenic crushed-limestone bicycle trail named for the rail workers who rhythmically swung pickaxes and hammers made by the Gandy Tool Co.

And it's the headquarters of the 252-mile St. Croix National Scenic Riverway, with a new visitors center that helps paddlers plan trips from the Namekagon to the St. Croix's confluence with the Mississippi.

There are another 12 trails in Interstate State Park, which became Wisconsin's first state park in 1900 and is the start of the Ice Age Trail.

River Gem is a 3 season rental cabin that was been completely renovated in 2017/2018 with all the modern amenities you need with the charm of a cabin right on the Apple River Flowage .
This well stocked, 2 bedroom, one bath cabin sits on the bank of the Apple River with it's own dock, patio area and fire pit.
River Gem has modern appliances, heat/air with all the cabin charm. There is a patio where you can grill out, eat , relax and see the loons or the bald eagles. There is a side yard to play yard games, or you can go fishing off the dock, kayaking, canoeing , or take the paddle boat out on the Apple River which are included in the rental.
In light of covid-19, we are taking extra precautions to provide a clean and safe environment for our renters. The cabin will be thoroughly cleaned and surfaces will be disinfected. All bedding, linens, blanket and towels will be washed . We are also removing decorative items from the cabin to minimize items that need to be sanitize. We are also trying to schedule rental check ins 24 hours after the last departure to provide extra time to accomplish this.
Please note the cabin can accommodate 4 registered guests only, regardless of the age of the guest.

A small unique urban “loft bedroom” that is close to Wild Mountain; Trollhaugen; Festival Theater; the Ice Age Trailhead; Interstate Park in WI and MN; the Gandy Dancer Trail; the Woolly Mountain Bike Trail; Cyclova Bike Shop; the St Croix River; Osceola; cafe, bars, and small grocery store within walking distance.. You’ll love my place because of the high ceilings, the uniqueness, the location, & the private cafe table outside.

The space:
This is a small studio bedroom w kitchenette, a private bathroom with toilet, vanity, and stand-up shower. The thermostat controls for the heat are in the bathroom. AC unit for the main room. There is a small kitchenette, dresser, hangers, TV, Wi-Fi, and access to a stone patio. Right off of main street in downtown St Croix Falls.

Guest access:
You will be given an electronic keycode and instructions to use this lock system the morning of check-in. You will use this keycode to lock and unlock the main door to the apartment. You may check-in without meeting us (which is why we are flexible on check-in time) but if you need anything, we are close by and can help you with anything.

Other things to note:
There are three apartments we rent out at 123 s Washington so if you are traveling with others and want to stay together, please also check out the listings for The Artist's Loft and The Peacock Loft. There are three patios that anyone can sit on and enjoy. Although we are off of Main Street, road noise is usually limited in the Copper Room but feel free to bring a fan or earplugs if very sensitive to noise - we want you to have a great sleep! This is a unique room and has exposed copper pipes (which is why it is decorated in a copper theme!) - please note that there may be small water-trickling sounds coming up the pipes (the room has 12 foot ceilings though so they are high-up) above. Do not be alarmed - this is normal. We just want you to be aware before booking so this doesn't upset you. Also, this apartment only has a small partial kitchen: Fridge, hot plate, air fryer microwave, sink, and cupboards. Plenty of room to store fresh/dry food for a weekened/week though.

Parking on the street is plentiful. Room is located down one flight of stairs.

One dog is welcome. 1 pet max under 20 pounds $75 per stay. Must not be left alone in the room

With private access to the entire property, the home is a 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath. It has a very large back/side yard, with a fire pit, patio table, and charcoal grill. The home is also very close to all the shops/restaurants in downtown Hudson!

The space
This home is a 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath. A half bath, kitchen, and living room is on the first floor. Upstairs you will find 2 bedrooms, a laundry room, and full bath. The upstairs bathroom has a large double headed shower and a separate tub. A blow dryer, curling iron, and flat iron are all provided.

Among the bedrooms are a queen, full, and twin bed. Also provided are two queen blow-up mattresses (electric pumps provided) and a single cot (which is quite comfy), all of which linens and pillows are provided for as well. This property sleeps 6 per city ordinances.

There is a very spacious back yard with a large 6-person patio table and charcoal grill. The side yard has a fire pit with chairs surrounding it; wood logs are also provided for a fire. There is also plenty of on site parking.

WI-FI password is provided at time of check in. All bedrooms, as well as the living room, have flat screen TVs and are either smart TVs or have Roku. You will also find a desk and chair in the guest bedroom.

Great for 30 day or more rental. My place is a town home in a very safe and friendly neighborhood. Family orientated. Very warm and welcoming Up North decor. Lots of greens and browns. We live in the upper levels of the house but often don't physically meet/see our guests. Always available by text. We respect your privacy. We can recommend many restaurants and activities (and see the guide on our listing). Easy walk to Kinni river, UWRF campus, Glen park, or into town center.

Refrigerator stocked once with plain water and sparkling water. Let us know what will make your stay pleasant (ice, real cream, weights, iron and ironing board, etc.).

Prefer if you don't use a strong perfume in the room - many guests have allergies to fragrances! I try to stay "fragrance-free" for them.

When you leave, just leave bedding on the bed, dishes in bathroom - I will wash all of it to make sure they are spotless for the next guest!

My experience in the hotel business, "Holiday Inn", traveling in Europe as well as maintaining and operating rentals has given me a unique perspective allowing people a nice safe alternative place to stay & relax. This market is not new but is a fantastic alternative to the standard motel lodging we are all familiar with. I hope many would agree with me. It is a new adventure for me and I can't say enough how fantastic the experience has been!

1 of 5 bedrooms located off the main floor entry. One full size cedar futon bed located on the main floor near the mudroom & 3/4 bath. For those that are not interested in climbing stairs this might be a good option to maintain one level living, the kitchen is not far away. The same peace and quiet allowed for all guests to get a good night's rest. This room will accommodate two people easily. Newly acquired cedar futon with a gel foam mattress that will provide a comfortable nights sleep.

Wi-Fi is not available at this time. There is a TV in the living room that can play VHS & DVDs (many are provided) & also has an iPhone adapter for streaming. This home is over 100 years old - the original doors & floors creak. My husband & I are travel nurses & may intermittently be on site between shifts.

You'll love our cabin in the woods! Once a historic mercantile, the Wissahickon Cabin has been transformed into a cozy cabin for 2 - 4 guests.

The cabin is situated in the forest and visible from the Gandy Dancer Trail. The front porch boasts an access path directly to the popular Woolly Bike Trail. Our cabin is secluded in the woods, but it's less than a 5-minute drive to downtown St Croix Falls, Interstate Park, dining, shopping, and entertainment. Enjoy a peaceful getaway in the north woods!

The space
The cabin is one room with a bedroom, a small dining area, and a living room space. In addition to the queen-sized bed, the couch has a fold-out air mattress that can accommodate up to 2 guests. It also boasts a grand bathroom area, complete with a jacuzzi tub. Enjoy relaxing on the front porch in a rocking chair. An antique-style gas fireplace adds to the cabin's romance and ambiance. A dresser and wardrobe provide ample storage space for your stay. The kitchen has a Keurig, a microwave, and a mini fridge for your convenience.

The cabin is on our personal property of 30 acres. Our personal home is also on the property, though the cabin is secluded.

Please note - due to the historical nature of the cabin's construction and to comply with Polk County fire code, open flame wax candles are not allowed inside the property. Battery-powered artificial candles are permitted.

Additionally, no smoking, vaping, or incense burning is permitted inside.

The camper is located in the back of our 3-acre property, beyond our home and shed, so you will have your own privacy. Quiet, peaceful, relaxing watching the sunset and stars from the patio area. With ambience from the twinkling of the outdoor Edison lights!

Our property is also within a few minute’s drive to Trimbelle River for trout fishing, with access to the river at the Trimbelle Recreation Area, which also features short nature walk trails.

Secluded country cabin perfect for connecting with nature and unwinding. 30 acres with trails for hiking, star gazing, walking your dog, watching sunsets, bird watching , swinging, grilling over the fire pit, enjoying a campfire, or taking a nap in the hammock.... Nature's abundance of wildlife.. Conveniently located 1 hour east of the twin cities. 1 Mile from grocery, gas, playground, dog Park, traverns. Cabin has AC, heat, great cell service, firewood. There is no water. Outdoor porta potty.

The space
you will have access to 30 acres. No hunting allowed. There is hiking trails, a swing, hammock, fire pit, charcoal grill. You will want to bring any items you would normally bring camping. Let us know if you need anything and we'll try to accommodate.

This is private property and you will have the entire area to yourself. You will not encounter other people. This is a secure and safe area.

Guest access
This cabin is located on a hill with a poor driveway. If the weather is dry you can easily drive a car right to the cabin. If it is raining, or snowing you will not be able to drive to the cabin. You would have to park your car at the base of the driveway. In the event that the driveway is not accessible feel free to contact your host and we can give you a ride with a side by side ATV. Or you can walk to the cabin about 100 yards. If you have limited mobility this walk could be challenging.

Other things to note
This cabin is surrounded by woods and rolling fields. This is located in an agricultural area. there may be smells (rare). This cabin does not have running water, shower, or indoor toilet. Please bring your own water. We do our best to clean, but the cabin is in a wooded area so you might encounter an occasional bug.

We have provided the basics. There is some simple lawn chairs (bring your favorite lawn chairs), charcoal grill (no charcoal), grate for grilling over the fire, fire ring, hammocks, fire pokers, marshmallow roasting sticks, freshly cleaned sheets and bedding including pillows, Keurig, microwave, refrigerator, AC, electric heater, tv, pizza oven, picnic table, toilet paper. We will provide 1 bundle of firewood for you. If you need additional firewood you are welcome to forage the property for down limbs and trees (there is a lot). The local grocery store also sells bundles of firewood.

We have a large country home on 3.5 acres with a pond view. Along with beautiful walking trails and a large fire pit behind the pond. You’ll be welcomed at the front door and your room is located on the second floor. You’ll have a tv with a fire stick. Cozy bed and chair in the room. See pics. The bathroom is across the hall. 2 to choose from. Coffee station is in the hallway along with hot cocoa and snacks.

The space
You'll have access to the pool, covered patio, beautiful view of Kinnickinnic State Park, hiking on the south side; bring your bicycles if you'd like to bike on the scenic paved country roads. Enjoy complimentary coffee/tea on the spacious scenic patios in the morning.

You'll also have access to your own mini fridge, microwave, and Keurig, but upon request, feel free to use the kitchen, fridge, stove, and utensils on the main level...just clean up when you're done.

The firepit is available for use (when weather permits), please drag the hose down "just in case" and be sure to put fire out completely when done. Yard games available upon request.

Gas fireplace, DirecTV (pref xtra w/HBO, local networks, etc), private bath w/shower; queen bed in separate bedroom (2), sleeper sofa (2), with comfy large couch that easily sleeps two.

During your stay
We will most likely be present and available for any questions, but you'll have the lower level to yourself. You might see me in the pool or weeding every once in a while, but mostly will keep out of your way.

Other things to note
Rocket, our 6-year old Australian Shepherd is a bundle of energy and does best without much interteaction from our guests. There is also one cat (Hoots) who just might try to sneak downstairs (so the upstairs door must stay shut). Since Rocket gets a little "too overjoyed" with any other animals, we think it's best to keep a No Pets Policy for everyone's peace and quiet. Rocket and Hoots are not allowed in the lower level.

Who knows, one day we'll be able to open the listing to include well-mannered (and fixed) fur-friends. But until then, just The Rocket!
