The Neighborhood
In western Wisconsin, St. Croix Falls has become a destination for people who want to go places.

It's the western terminus of the 1,000-mile Ice Age National Scenic Trail, which traces the last glacier as it began to melt and retreat northward, leaving a marvelously lumpy patchwork of rock, rubble and river gorges.

It's the southern trailhead of the 48-mile Gandy Dancer State Trail, a scenic crushed-limestone bicycle trail named for the rail workers who rhythmically swung pickaxes and hammers made by the Gandy Tool Co.

A small unique urban “loft bedroom” that is close to Wild Mountain; Trollhaugen; Festival Theater; the Ice Age Trailhead; Interstate Park in WI and MN; the Gandy Dancer Trail; the Woolly Mountain Bike Trail; Cyclova Bike Shop; the St Croix River; Osceola; cafe, bars, and small grocery store within walking distance.. You’ll love my place because of the high ceilings, the uniqueness, the location, & the private cafe table outside.

The space:
This is a small studio bedroom w kitchenette, a private bathroom with toilet, vanity, and stand-up shower. The thermostat controls for the heat are in the bathroom. AC unit for the main room. There is a small kitchenette, dresser, hangers, TV, Wi-Fi, and access to a stone patio. Right off of main street in downtown St Croix Falls.

Guest access:
You will be given an electronic keycode and instructions to use this lock system the morning of check-in. You will use this keycode to lock and unlock the main door to the apartment. You may check-in without meeting us (which is why we are flexible on check-in time) but if you need anything, we are close by and can help you with anything.

Other things to note:
There are three apartments we rent out at 123 s Washington so if you are traveling with others and want to stay together, please also check out the listings for The Artist's Loft and The Peacock Loft. There are three patios that anyone can sit on and enjoy. Although we are off of Main Street, road noise is usually limited in the Copper Room but feel free to bring a fan or earplugs if very sensitive to noise - we want you to have a great sleep! This is a unique room and has exposed copper pipes (which is why it is decorated in a copper theme!) - please note that there may be small water-trickling sounds coming up the pipes (the room has 12 foot ceilings though so they are high-up) above. Do not be alarmed - this is normal. We just want you to be aware before booking so this doesn't upset you. Also, this apartment only has a small partial kitchen: Fridge, hot plate, air fryer microwave, sink, and cupboards. Plenty of room to store fresh/dry food for a weekened/week though.

Parking on the street is plentiful. Room is located down one flight of stairs.

One dog is welcome. 1 pet max under 20 pounds $75 per stay. Must not be left alone in the room

The space
Located right next to the St. Croix River, you'll be greeted with stunning views and beautiful sunsets into the valley! We have a fenced in yard, perfect for relaxing next to the firepit while grilling. Lots of parking makes packing in and out a breeze!

Please note that there is not direct waterfront access to the St. Croix River on the property.

Guest access
The entirety of the lower unit and fenced in yard is for your use! The upper and lower units are separated by locking doors; neither party would have access to the other unit. There is a step free access on the west side of the building, with parking directly in front of it. Access to the south side requires the ability to maneuver 2 steps. Access to the fenced in yard has three steps, but does have a step free entrance through grass.

Guests of the creekside family tent at Big Rock Creek will enjoy a queen sized bed with a queen sized futon along with a cot stored under the queen sized bed! This tent sleeps 2-3 adults max and could sleep 2 adults with 4 small kids if the kids were willing to share beds:)

The Big Rock Creek estate is home to Fridays at the farm! Our weekly farmers market and hang out. We have live music, food and drinks and a small market of local vendors. This event is from 5-9pm on Fridays. We also have a gift shop on site along with bike rentals and electric polaris ranger rentals to cruise the trails of our 980 acres! If your into fishing, we only allow fly fishing but we do have fly rods for rent here on site!

Guests are allowed access to our private lake with a swimming raft, paddle boards, canoes, kayaks and paddle boats that are free for guests to use on a first come first serve basis.

In the Summer time, you will enjoy the quite prairie, filled with wild flowers, butterfly's and hummingbirds that hover above the flower garden. Enjoy the sunshine while relaxing on your patio having a morning cup of coffee. At night sit around the fire and gaze at the amazing astrological display in the sky or sit in the hottub while star gazing and listening to your favorite music from the hottub stereo, or nature sounds from the wild life. This place is sure to please.

The kitchenette has a refrigerator microwave, toaster convection oven and coffee pot, crock pot, frying pan, all essential items for eating and cooking. Dining area as well. There is a gas grill on the patio for more cooking accommodations.

We are located in a small tourist town with many attractions, such as, st criox river, Wild MT ski resort/ water park, paddleboat cruise, canoeing, kayaking, biking, hiking trails. Gandy Dancer trail runs for 53 miles. You can also enjoy the gorgeous views of natural Granite from the interstate parks .The winters are also amazing. Two ski resorts to choose from and plenty of snowmobile trails. As well as
several cross country skiing trials.

Guest access
When arriving at the home you can park on the cemented area in front of the guest parking sign. The sidewalk will take you to the apartment.

Other things to note
The hottub will be open for use all year. Due to this it has a higher probability of breakdown and repairs may be needed without notice. If this occurs during your stay i will notify you of the situation as soon as possible. Due to high risk I charge a fee for cleaning, maintenance, repairs and extra water. The fee is a one time payment of 50 per person per stay. The hours of operation are listed in the hottub informations portion of the waiver. The hours are negotiable. So if your wanting to use it longer then listed please let me know. When you sign the waiver the fee will be added and sent to you via abnb.
I also have a pet dog named Mitzi, whom you may run into from time to time outside during your stay.

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. Country living just 50 minutes north of the Twin Cities. Newly renovated bunk house on 5 acres surrounded by farmland, wild birds and my Guinea Hens, Chickens and a Peacock. Start your 1400 mile hike on the Ice Age trail. Park car at my place and I’ll drive you to the beginning of the trail. I am also 5 miles from Wild Mountain ski resort and 10 miles from Trollhaugen. Or into wine, three vineyards within 20 minutes and bead shop.

Behind the hidden door is a cozy theater room including a 75" Smart TV, electric fireplace, large sofa, and pub table to enjoy games or drinks while watching a movie.

BATHROOMS// One bathtub/shower in the main bathroom, one shower in the basement bathroom, plus a half bath in the primary bedroom. You will have access to a hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner and body wash.

BEDROOMS// This house boasts three cozy bedrooms. The primary bedroom features a plush king-size bed with a half bath, while the second and third bedrooms are furnished with comfortable queen-size beds. All bedrooms are comfortably outfitted with tall floor fans, luggage racks, and USB ports for your devices.

OUTDOORS// Enjoy your morning coffee or an evening drink on the spacious, private deck or play some yard games in the large, fenced in yard. A grill is available in the spring, summer and fall on the deck as well as a space to eat outside at our patio table. End the night cozying up in the firepit area. Please bring your own firewood.

Other things to note
The river shore goes up and down throughout the year (controlled by the St. Croix Falls Dam). We usually do not swim on the shore, but across the river (by kayak!), most times of year there is a beautiful sand bar to play on. Sometimes a lot of it is exposed, and other times it's only a few inches under water. Our kids truly enjoy playing here!

This home was designed to bring peace and relaxation to your vacation, while also offering nearby adventure. It is on a quiet street right on the St. Croix River, yet only a few minutes’ walk to downtown Taylors Falls, offering cafés, mini golf, and shopping. Continue your walk to the boat tours and hiking trails of Interstate State Park with breathtaking views of the river and bluffs. A short drive gets you to a variety of wineries, wedding venues, golfing, shopping, restaurants, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, and Wild Mountain with numerous year-round activities. 

While in the home, relax in this peaceful escape right on the river. Enjoy bird watching on the front porch while sipping your morning coffee. Take a nap on the porch daybed while listening to the river flow by, or have a drink with your friends on the porch swings. Play games or listen to records while you visit with loved ones in front of the fire, or cook up a gourmet meal with the well-stocked kitchen for bakers and chefs alike. End the day with an amazing night’s sleep in one of four bedrooms, each offering comfy memory foam beds. An extra space to sleep on the sofa bed is also available for extra guests, as well as a twin daybed on the porch during the warmer months. Reliable and fast Wi-Fi is available for those who need it for entertainment or work, as well as a smart TV with all of the major streaming services. A large yard has plenty of space for bonfires, a game of bags, or even volleyball!

Keypad entry. Space for at least four vehicles in the driveway. Guests have full access to the home, except the utility room in the basement. The space across the street right along the river is mine as well, so feel free to enjoy your morning coffee or evening beverage sitting on the bench facing the beautiful river. Please do NOT attempt to access the river here, it is very steep and not safe. Garage access for those who want to keep their vehicles inside!

Other things to note
The outdoor space has been recently updated to include a large firepit area on the side of the house with a privacy wall that will allow for a private and cozy atmosphere. Plenty of dry wood for your bonfire is available in the far shed. The overall landscaping has also been updated and has a clean look. The yard is plenty big with room for bocce ball, cornhole, volleyball, and frisbee golf! All games are kept in the shed for your use.

Family-friendly with baby and kid gear (safety gates, pack ‘n play, high chair, and toys). The fireplace does get hot so please watch your children. There is a protective screen provided to place around it.

With a ramp leading into the front door, Queen bedroom on the main level and a bathroom with shower bench and grab bars, this is a wonderful choice for those needing easier and safer options.

Please no parties at all. This street and my neighbors have become special to me, and this house is the perfect place to get away and relax with family and friends. If a loud party is on your mind, a different property might be a better fit.

The kitchen table has two leaves which can expand the table to include 10 guests. Extra chairs are in the garage for your use, if needed.

**We like to remind our guests that this is a home built in 1872, even during moderate weather the heating/air conditioning ventilation can lag a bit, and isn't like a new home. There are ceiling fans in each bedroom for comfort**


Go for a walk around historic Angel Hill, relax on the couch reading from our small Minnesotan/Wisconsin book collection, or grab a board game and sit around the dining table.

•The space•
The home is furnished with space in mind, accommodating even the largest groups. Enjoy the 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom house (1 shower) sleeping up to 8 people comfortably. All bedrooms are equipped with a queen bed, night stand, and outlets to charge any device. Bedroom 1 is located up the original staircase in the front of the home so if you stay in this room you will make a quick trip downstairs to use the bathroom. Bedrooms 2, 3, and 4 are located up the kitchen staircase right next to the upstairs bathroom. These bedrooms have dresser/closet space, and a nice view from the second floor windows. All bedrooms have there own door, ensuring privacy and a great nights sleep. Be aware there is no bedroom on the main floor.

There is a baby gate for both sets of stairs. Feel free to use if you're bringing little ones.

•Living Room•
The living room has a large comfortable couch with one accent chair appointed in the corner and a large 65-inch Smart-TV. Enjoy the open-floor feel as you relax adjacent to the dining and kitchen area.

Upstairs bathroom is located next to 3 of the bedrooms, and is equipped with a large cabinet and clawfoot bathtub. The main bathroom is located on the main floor and has a walk-in shower.

•Porch•

Lastly, enjoy the large yard surrounding the house as the breeze rushes through the top of Angel Hill. The half acre yard is large enough for the family to run circles around the home for hours. Firepit and 8 chairs are provided, please bring your own firewood.

•Location and Walking•
Home is on top of a large hill, but our family loves taking walks around the historic neighborhood and into town. Expect some incline! There is a great connection to the State Park Railroad Trail just a block or two from the driveway.
