- "This place was gorgeous and not far from downtown Two Harbors. I do have a couple of tips: - Verizon and AT&T have no service (we are talking SOS only) so take a screen shot of the address, WiFi and password and maybe even the code to get in, because you won’t be able to look it up. - The mattresses are a very firm foam mattress. Great for some, but not everyone. - The house is gorgeous and clean but a lot of white, which made me a little anxious with the kids that they would make it not so white. Overall it was gorgeous, great views of the woods with some of Lake Superior through the trees. The stars at night are stunning. Has everything you need. A fire pit for s’mores would have been nice but you can make do. Overall we would stay again."

- "A mazing!" - "We picked this property because of the amazing views and it didn’t disappoint!!! It was nice to have a ranch since our elderly dog came with. She loved sitting out on the deck in her dog bed sunning herself. The house was very clean and relaxing. We didn’t need to contact the owners because everything was already communicated. First time to the area and would highly recommend this property!!!" - "We stayed at Blue Stone Bluff for our 1st trip to the North Shore. The house was wonderful! The master bedroom has a HUGE closet and jacuzzi tub. I loved having plenty of space to unpack. The 2nd bedroom is small with little storage, but it worked just fine for us. The kitchen was well stocked with plates, pots/pans, utensils, and many kitchen staples such as cooking spray, salt/pepper/ coffee, other spices, etc. We often found flies and fruit flies in the kitchen. I understand bugs are common in the North Shore and this really didn't bother us, but I can see some people being upset about the bugs. We were diligent about keeping the doors or screens closed and keeping all food sealed. We also would have liked to have air conditioning in this house. I'm sure that's not a common feature in northern MN and I knew it was not available. The windows don't circulate well and all the doors/windows are easily accessed from the ground floor. We're from a big city and don't feel safe leaving doors/windows open at night or while we're gone. There were 2 fans provided that helped, but the house was warmer than I'd prefer. I'm used to A/C, so this may be no problem for others. There is a good size piece of yard for a dog. I couldn't see that in the pics, so I was pleasantly surprised. There is also a lovely fire pit area. Parking was easy. Overall we were very happy with this house and would highly recommend it for the layout, views, and cleanliness."

This is our smaller family cabin, which is has been decorated lodge style with its stone fireplace and sun room abutting the woods and its view of Lake Superior which is just yards away. It is a great retreat/special occasion spot which we rent to only one or two people at a time.

It has an open concept kitchen, dining, living room which lead to the sun room and large deck overlooking the woods and lake. Head to the rocky shore (There are steps down to the shore about 100 feet the left as you come down the steps from the deck) for skipping stones on the lake, a fire in the fire pit, an early morning sunrise over the lake or evening cocktails on the shoreline. We have left folding chairs for you to take down to the shore.

The kitchen is well equipped with all the essentials. We have also left some warm jackets in the closet in case the wind takes a surprise shift and a warm day turns cool.

The is an end unit in The Lakehomes on Superior with no one above or below you. The property has nearly 1/2 mile of shoreline and walking trails on the property. There is a full service restaurant adjacent to the lake homes overlooking the lake shore.

Two Harbors is a mile away with restaurants, an expansive waterfront with hiking trails and lighthouse. There is also a nice little museum. There are 6 state parks as you continue driving north which provide wonderful hiking and beautiful views of the Lake and rivers.

There is an outdoor pool and hot tub that are open from Memorial day to Labor day. There are also 2 tennis/pickleball courts.

Welcome to our cabin! This fully renovated cabin is perfectly located, close to the North Shore and the most amazing state parks in Minnesota. While our cabin is conveniently located for adventure, it’s also far enough away to offer the seclusion needed to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The cabin sits on 20 acres of wooded bliss with ease of access for snowmobile or ATV riders as the North Shore Trail connects to the back of our property. Enjoy a quiet evening by the fire or relax in our wood burning sauna.
Located just 12 miles to Two Harbors and 13 miles to Beaver Bay, you will find many restaurants to explore and shops to take in. When you’re looking for great hiking, we are located just 12 miles to Gooseberry falls. As you continue up the shore you’ll find Split Rock Lighthouse, Tettegouche, George Crosby Manitou and Temperance River. While all of these parks offer amazing hikes and views, our favorite is Grand Portage State Park just at the border of Canada. It will take about an hour and a half to two hours to get there but well worth the drive. Then on your way back, you can stop in at all the other wonderful parks along the way.
The fall time is the best time to be at the cabin. Crisp, cool nights with little bugs make evening camp fires perfect. Be sure to look up while sitting by the fire at night to catch some amazing star gazing. Being so far from the city lights, it’s amazing what you can see at night! Perfectly situated amongst the tall pine trees, it’s perfect!
While we’re sure you’ll spend most of your time enjoying all the north shore has to offer, you’ll be pleased to know that inside, our cabin has all you’d ever need. The full kitchen is ready for you to enjoy, two bedrooms each with queen beds and a sleeper sofa with a full bed ensures you’ll have enough room to sleep everyone. The bathroom also tends to be a favorite of guests with the custom tiled shower!
Feel free to bring your ATV with easy access to the North Shore. This is a great way to see the fall colors at your own speed!

- "This cabin was a perfect place to stay for our trip to North Shore. It was 15 miles from the Lake and all the tourist attractions, and we had all the privacy and Northwoods beauty we wanted. My nephew was especially ecstatic when he found out there was Roku TV, even though he was limited on the time he could watch. The cabin is very well maintained and clean. The outbuildings are also kept up and there is a fire pit available for the the evenings. We didn't get to use the sauna, but I'm sure it would have been fun. The state trail is close by if you like to hike. Bring lots of bug spray!!! Awesome place!!"

This is a newly constructed, hand crafted log home with all the modern amenities situated on private wooded acreage overlooking Lake Superior.

Specifically, this home features coded access on the ground floor (lower level), a theater room, washer and dryer, stainless steel kitchen appliances, large two sided deck (one covered) with grill and lake views.

Although snowmobiles and ATVs must be trailered to official trails, there is a huge parking area with easy access for trailers and rigs. Close proximity to trails and other outdoor amenities make this a perfect place to relax after a day of excellent riding.

Personally coded access door is on the ground floor (lower level) underneath the deck stairs.

Optional Extra Beds and Bath: This property is listed with 2 queen bedrooms and 1 king bedroom. The county only permits us to book 6 guests (or fewer) for the property so we have made available the two queen and one king bedrooms. However, the loft area has additional private full and single bunkbeds and an additional bathroom. Since folks are booking for 6 or fewer, we have set our rates for only the 2 queens and 1 king. We have secured the beds and bath in the loft. However, if you need the additional space, we can open the loft space. But the turn (cleaning and such between guests) takes additional work and the property experiences additional wear and tear so we have to charge an additional $50 per night. If you'd like this additional space, just let us know via the message system here and we'll add it to your reservation.

During the times when we were not with them my husband and I could relax at the cottage and enjoy the scenery. It snowed some almost every day of our stay and it was beautiful. Thankfully our rental car had 4-wheel drive and heated seats. (Smile) The house is rustic, but we are used to that. We would rent this cottage again if we visit - especially with a 4-wheel drive and heated seats."

The Beaver Lodge is cleaned and disinfected between guest stays, which are usually two days or longer. Lots of wildlife and close to points of interest. Our property is remote, extremely clean, thoroughly disinfected, and ready for your stay. If you have any questions about the cabin or area, please don't hesitate to message us.

This approximate 1400 sq. ft. cabin is located on one of the largest privately owned parcels (over 700 acres) nestled in between Gooseberry State Park, Split Rock State Park, and Iona’s Beach Scientific and Natural Area. It is located less than 2 miles from Lake Superior off Highway 61, about 15-20 minutes from Two Harbors or Silver Bay. There is over 7 miles of undeveloped shoreline that include designated trout streams and tributaries that provide some of the highest quality habitat ratings of any stream in the Gooseberry River sub-watershed. There are several large beaver dams that provide habitat for a large variety of birds and wildlife. It also includes several types of wetlands, marshes, and forest communities that provide an abundance of diversity for a multitude of habitat for birds, large mammals, and aquatic wildlife. The ultra-private and secluded location is gated for ultimate privacy, quiet, and relaxation. To access all of this beauty is an extensive private network (literally miles) of periodically mowed trails between 8 and 20 feet wide for low impact use. The private trails cover a plethora of the property to access this remote wilderness for pleasure, exercise, or photography. If desired, Superior Hiking Trail access is located just 1 ½ miles down the driveway from the cabin.

Our cabin is off-grid, no internet, land line phone, or grid power, but has power supplied from solar and a generator that runs automatically when needed, which is not very often. In rare instances on the hottest summer days, the cabin has air conditioning when natural ventilation is just a little too uncomfortable. So even though it is off-grid, it has all of the basic modern amenities we enjoy; you really don’t know it is off-grid. Our cabin is completely furnished and supplied with everything you would need, other than food, to make your stay memorable and enjoyable. There is a large kitchen and living/dining area, 2 bedrooms downstairs, bathroom with shower, and a loft for a few extra guests. We have local tv and stereo for those days you just want to kick back or use on rainy days. We have a few movies and LP’s to watch and listen to. Cell phone service is available from AT&T and Verizon, but can be limited depending on the device (Apple, great service Android, limited service - both on Verizon). The kitchen has pots, pans, and an abundance of utensils available for all of your cooking and/or baking needs. We have a BBQ grill and everything needed to flip, poke, or grab for your grilling needs. All of this overlooking a beautiful stream you can see and hear right next to the cabin. On clear nights the stars and northern lights can be phenomenal to see as there isn't any light pollution for miles.

We enjoy this as our family cabin and hope that you will respect, enjoy, and care for it as much as we do. The cabin is meticulously cleaned after each stay, but we would greatly appreciate if you leave the cabin as you found it… clean. We are available for any questions or concerns and are happy to provide you with an informative summary of the cabin, amenities, or other information that would make your stay more satisfying.

Please consider the following before booking:

We do occasionally stop in to the cabin’s garage (located over 500 feet from the cabin with ample tree coverage for privacy) to perform maintenance on equipment, trails, or drop off some supplies. We will respect your privacy, but we still have to maintain the property when Mother Nature’s or our schedules allow.

This cabin is remote and has over 3 miles of forestry and private road. On occasion, with wet weather there can be some rutting in a couple of spots, so those with low clearance vehicles would be advised not to book this cabin. If you’re not sure, just contact us, we maintain the whole road. We will not be responsible for damage to your vehicle. Upon prior request and approval, we could transport you to the cabin in our vehicle or ATV.

Being an off-grid cabin supplied by solar/generator, please be conscious of electrical usage. Please shut off the lights to keep unnecessary usage to a minimum in order for us to keep our generation costs down and keep our footprint small.

The wildlife is wild here, and most of them are more afraid of you than you are of them, but remember, they are WILD and not domesticated! Yes, bears and other wildlife $h!t in the woods and occasionally on the driveway and yard. We also take every effort to minimize little critters from entering the buildings, we use traps and bait, but on rare occasions we do get a mouse or shrew. If you find this offensive, this isn’t the place for you.

Absolutely no ATV’s/UTV’s are allowed on the trail system; ATV’s/UTV’s must stay on your trailers if you bring them.

No coolers in the cabin. Coolers left in the enclosed porch for convenience must not leak. Any damage to the flooring will be charged accordingly.

We prefer you recycle as much as possible; this eliminates a lot of garbage. Being the cabin is so remote, we take care of the garbage. On extended stays, we will routinely stop by to pick it up.

There is no smoking indoors, including the porches or around the buildings. For those that do have a smoke, please do it outside and away from the buildings, and please dispose of your butts properly.

The cabin has a septic system that handles human wastes and toilet paper. Please do not flush anything else such as sanitary products or wipes; there is a trash receptacle in the bathroom for those items.

Absolutely no pets. Your terms of a responsible pet owner and mine may differ, and irresponsible owners and pets can cause thousands of dollars in damage. If a pet is found to be brought on the property, you will be required to leave immediately and the rental fee and deposit will be forfeited.

A fire-pit is available to use carefully and responsibly. There is kindling and fire wood for your use.

We do have limited outside chairs and seating on the deck, but for larger groups you may want to bring a few of your own.

No hunting or shooting firearms during your stay.

We understand that accidents happen. We ask that you please let us know when they do; we can probably fix them as effortlessly as possible, which also means better chances of having your full security deposit returned too.

Please refrain from entering any outbuildings on the property (garage, shed, or pole building).

The Living Room has full windows that showcase an unobstructed view of Lake Superior (start the fireplace and throw on a movie for added comfort). The Bathroom has a nice walk-in shower, there is also a Whirlpool Jacuzzi in the Bedroom (perfect after excursions).

(We opted to go to the gas station nearby to get larger size coffees) Next door is Lou's Fishhouse that offers fish and ice cream (try the smoked cajun salmon), as well as Burlington Station, which offered sweet treats, souvenir items, boutique clothing & home decor. Across Highway 61, you can walk to Burlington Bay to skip rocks or take a swim in Lake Superior. There is no daily service offered but the owner is just a message away for inquiries. Checkout was a breeze simply by sending a message to the owner. We will definitely stay here again when in the area! Thank you for a pleasant, clean, vacation stay."

- "Really cute place and would stay again. Clean and thoughtful decor. Sleeping spaces/options worked well for two adults and 2 young kids. They even had a couple of toys and games which our kids loved. A good launching place to explode the north shore. The only complaint is that cookware was pretty limited, few food storage items, and knives were poor quality. Might not matter if you’re eating out the whole time, but we enjoy cooking, so these items could be improved/replenished. I did request a nonstick pan, as the two there were in rough shape. They brought us a new one the next day. "

Other things to note
There is a small boarding kennel on the premises. This is my job. If you would like to board your pet while staying with us, it is based on availability. Being small as far as a kennel, I recommended making reservations early. You would be required to conform with kennel requirements....including documentation of rabies, distemper and bordetella vaccinations. This policy is firm. Please note we also have a 2 family dogs, Marley and Bitsy. Both are gentle souls and very sweet. There are no restaurants that deliver to where we are located.☹️ Lastly, PLEASE do not leave your children unattended. If you are going to leave the property you must take your children with you. The Loft at Silver Creek Bed & Breakfast is a cozy lofted condo unit outside of beautiful Two Harbors. It is one of three private units at the home, nested on 11 explorable acres. Perfect for outdoor enthusiasts and those seeking relaxation. Be sure to enjoy our Sauna!

We are located 5 miles off lake Superior near some of the best outdoor activities MN has to offer: Gooseberry Falls (13min), Split Rock (20min) and Stewart river (3mi) for trout fishing.

The space
The loft is on the second floor of our multi-unit home. Each unit has a private entrance and you have access to the entire loft. Our cozy cabin-like unit features a spacious kitchenette with a cook top and medium refrigerator. Please relax in our new Sauna with a view of the beautiful land. This is a shared property amenity but reserved for private use.

We are a bed & breakfast which means we have a caretaker onsite and provide very light breakfast of granola bars and oatmeal.

The 11 acre property includes a beautiful pond, walking trails, a sauna, and fire pits. The outdoor spaces are shared with the other three units. There are many seating areas to soak up nature privately.

Guest access
You'll have access to the entire unit which has its own entrance. The loft is the first door of the main home with antlers above. An electronic Keypad is located on the door. The unique entry code will be provided the day of check in.

Other things to note
As this is a multi-unit and older home some noise does transfer to the below unit. We ask that all guests on property respect quiet hours of 10 pm - 7 am. We appreciate you helping us make this a comfortable stay for everyone.

The home boasts a full kitchen, dining area, living room with brand-new queen sleeper sofa, bedroom with brand-new queen mattress/bed, and a bonus room for all your gear. Entertainment options include a 43-inch flatscreen TV featuring Nexflix, Hulu, HBO Max and Amazon Prime, WiFi, board games, and books.

Enjoy the backyard that overlooks the woods — you WILL see deer! Long yard can easily fit your snowmobiles, boats, or ATVs. Secure front and rear smartlocks come with a personalized access code.

This off-grid, solar powered hideaway is on the Knife River just a few miles outside of Two Harbors, Minnesota. The cabin itself is loaded with comfort. A full kitchen, propane refrigerator, solar powered lights and a gas fireplace/furnace offer the conveniences of home. There is an outhouse and firewood for the outdoor firepit. You will have to bring your own water for drinking, but we provide hand and dish washing water at the sink. We have coffee with pour over utensils, dishes, spices.

The space
Large windows give you a feel of being outdoors under oak, maple, aspen and pines. Sit out on the deck and enjoy your morning coffee or BBQ dinner. The river is only 220 feet from the cabin, so you may hear it when the water is high. You will likely see deer, snowshoe hare and a variety of birds including ravens, crows, grouse and many kinds of woodpeckers. A rare sighting might be a black bear or moose

You will be 5 miles from town but "the neighborhood" is forest. Mixed hardwoods and conifers surround the cabin.

NEW SHOWER ROOM!! - we have added a brand new shower room in the spring of 2023. This room is connected to the entire rental, but seperate from the toilet and sink. There is a nice, roomy shower, sitting chair, and cabinet containing linens. laundry bag on the back of the door for soiled towels.

SITTING AREA - Upon arrival, you will head to the right of our front porch and down a small set of stairs that will bring you to the door. Once inside you will find a nice sitting area equipped with cozy throw blankets, interesting books to read, and games for you to play on those rainy days or in the evenings when the town goes quiet.

BEDROOM - Further into the main living space is a queen size bed with nightstand and dimmable pendant lights on each side. A dresser and hangers are there for your convenience and an ironing board and iron are under the bed. Feel free to use the record player if so inclined.
A portable crib is also available by request

KITCHENETTE- The kitchenette has custom built cabinets and a tiled backsplash. There is a Cuisinart toaster oven/air fryer that is large enough to fit a 12" frozen pizza and I've been told can roast an entire chicken. A retro mini fridge with freezer will keep your items cold and the electric Bodum water kettle heats up in a flash for your morning drip coffee. There is also a hot plate, garbage, and recycling receptacle under the sink with pots and pans, bowls, utensils, etc in the various drawers. Take a seat at the breakfast bar and enjoy a morning bagel and cup of joe using a mug and plate from a local potter.

POWDER ROOM - The powder room has sink with cabinet and toilet. The shower is in a seperated room connected to the rental. Fresh towels and wash rags are stocked on the shelves, and under the sink you will find a few toiletries you may have forgotten at home such as toothbrush, tooth paste, and feminine products.

Parking is available on the side street or in front of our home on a first come first serve basis. You will have your own private entry making it easy to come and go as you please.

WINTER - Note there is no on street parking in the winter. Please use the open parking space located on the right side of the driveway in front of the garage

Other things to note
Scott resides in the main house with our teenage daughter. It's possible you may hear footsteps above you or talking, but rest assured the house is quiet come 8:00 or so. We also have cats in our home that have not had access to the rental space.

Our very clean, cozy, remodeled guesthouse is set in an ideal location in the heart of Two Harbors. Built in the late 1800's, our guesthouse is a remodeling project that was completed in January 2022. This one queen bedroom/one bath (large shower) home is designed for 2 guests. The kitchen is stocked with all the amenities for cooking. Cozy up in the living room to watch a movie, play a game, read a book, or work on a puzzle.
Please note this guesthouse is located behind the owners home and near the garage. Also, the neighboring properties all have garages in close proximity. There is a city park with open space one city lot away and Lake Superior is just 3 blocks away.

Guests will have their own private parking spot, on a paved drive, next to the garage. It will be marked by a sign posted on the corner of the garage.
A walk through the park next door takes you into historic downtown Two Harbors. Continue past the train depot and hop on the walking trail that takes you to Lighthouse Point and along the shore of Lake Superior for another mile, down to Burlington Bay. By crossing over Hwy 61, and walking through the golf course parking lot, the trail continues on and makes a big loop of Two Harbors . It's a beautiful 4-mile walk/run and a great way to see the town. Lots of bikers use this paved trail, as well.

Swan Forest Loft is ideal to explore the North Shore of Lake Superior with its 7 state parks. We are located 4 miles from Gooseberry Falls State Park with the start of the Gitchi Gami bicycle trail and 2 miles from a Superior Hiking Trail head. Walk up 15 stairs to a comfortable, spacious 2 bedroom apartment with balcony. It feels like a tree house with modern amenities. The kitchen has a two-burner ceramic stove top, microwave with oven, toaster, hot water kettle, fridge and coffee maker.

The space
The apartment is set in a forest. You are surrounded by cedar and pine trees and the host's garden. There is a wood stove plus electric heating and a high open ceiling. The space is not handicap accessible.

Guest access
You are welcome to walk to the creek, use the swing, and generally look around. There is no fire pit at this time for guest use. There is, however, a grill you can set up in the driveway to cook on. Bring your own charcoal.

The cottage is an 1,150 sq ft two level home built in 2008. The main level is open concept and contains a living room with Smart TV and Room & Board queen sleeper sofa, fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances, dining space, and full size washer and dryer. The upstairs is a large open loft area which contains a queen bed and bunk beds (full on bottom, twin on top). All mattresses are Tuft & Needle. Also upstairs, there is a full bathroom and workspace with desk and office chair. The upper level has a walkout patio and generous windows, all showcasing incredible views of the valley and Lake Superior. There is fast fiber optic internet throughout the property. Outside, you'll find a fire pit with surrounding chairs.

You'll have the entire cottage, attached garage, and surrounding 10 acre property all to yourself.

Other things to note
-The upstairs sleeping area is a large open loft with beds on opposite corners. If you want a more separate sleeping space, there is a sleeper sofa on the main level but please note the bathroom is upstairs through the loft.
-Black flies can be a problem on the North Shore. While we have the cottage exterior professionally sprayed, it is in the the woods so you may encounter flies, mosquitos, and other insects during your stay.
-There is a shooting range 1 mile from the property so depending on wind direction, there's a potential to hear gunfire off in the distance.
-The driveway is very steep so 4WD is required in months with potential for snow and ice.

Relax in Northwoods themed apartment. One bedroom dog and kid friendly apartment with a lakeview from kitchen. Private entrance offers storage for outdoor gear and electric hookups for ebikes in the enclosed porch. There is off street parking for two vehicles or trailer. The birch room has its name because the entire room is trimmed with birch hardwood flooring and paneling. The room has a wonderful king size bed and a private bath with 2 person whirlpool tub and separate shower.

The manor has many wonderful gathering areas to relax and enjoy.

Guest access
Although we make you breakfast each morning guests have access to our gourmet kitchen with 2 prep islands, massive 6 burner 2 oven stove with 24 inch griddle for the other meals you might want to make. You will have use of the guest full size refrigerator. There is a separate ice maker for your ice needs. For cleanup we have 2 Kenmore dishwashers. All the pots, pans, dishware and silverware you'll need so you don't need to buy paper plates the plastic ware. The extensive library with a nice assortment of books, games and movie DVD's. There is also a karaoke machine available too.

Fitzgerald Manor is committed to the health and safety of our guests. You will always have less exposure to others than you would at bigger hotels. We continue to meet or exceed the highest standards recommended by the Minnesota Department Health and follow all CDC guidelines to keep you safe.
Additionally, we have implemented the following Stay Safe procedures to ensure you will feel safe when you stay with us:
• We are only open from Friday (check-in) – Tuesday (check-out) allowing for only 2-night stays thus insuring between 3-5 days between guests to perform thorough cleaning of the bedrooms.
• We are not using bedspreads or decorative pillows.
• We are seating guests at least 6 feet apart during breakfast.
• We are wearing masks and gloves when preparing your food and taking care of you.
• We are doing extra cleaning between guests and extra sanitizing of common areas during the day.
• Daily Housekeeping, towel exchange and trash removal available on request
We have a huge pole building so we can get your motorcycles, boat or snowmobiles out of the weather. We have a fire pit area and we can set that up for you with plenty of wood to burn through the night.
