LAKE: Alder Lake is a 264-acre full rec lake on the Manitowish Chain of 10 Lakes. All 10 lakes are navigable by boat from May through September. Each cabin at Alderwood Resort has a private dock. There is a shared covered boat shelter that is first-come, first served. The nearest boat launches are on Wild Rice Lake (free) and at Greer's Pier Marina (small fee). Waterskiing hours, towing a person, and personal watercraft (PWC) permitted between 9:00am to 7:00pm. Rowboats, kayaks, and canoes are located on the waterfront for your use.

ACTIVITIES VIA WATER
Swim in Alder Lake. Kayak or rowboat on Alder Lake. Rent a pontoon through Greer's Pier Marina. Boat to restaurants like Aberdeen, Pea Patch, Little Bohemia. Stop at Greer's Pier for a cocktail and shopping. Go fishing, or hire a fishing guide. Boat to Little Star Beach. All 10 lakes on the Manitowish Chain are navigable by boat from May through September.

INSIDE

As you step into the spacious living area with wood burning fireplace, you will be welcomed by oversized windows that truly make it feel like you are standing on the shore of Stone Lake. To the right is the first sleeping wing with two bedrooms and a full bathroom. Just past that first sleeping wing, is the large open concept kitchen and dining room with lake views and plenty of space for your entire group to eat, drink, and enjoy good company. There is also a sliding patio door in the dining room leading directly to the attached deck outside overlooking the lake. Heading back through the living room, you will find the second sleeping wing. This wing consists of a master bedroom with a lake view and full master bath with laundry. Upstairs you will find a kid-friendly bonus sleeping area with four twin sized beds, full bathroom, and an aerial view of Stone Lake. The Lodge comes equipped with a furnished kitchen, Starlink high-speed WiFi, air-conditioning, brand-new linens and furnishings.

OUTSIDE

If the outside space at Stone Lake Lodge doesn't convince you to book your next vacation here ASAP, we aren't sure what will! Just off the back of the house is a large deck with lounging chairs, dining table, and new Weber grill. Next to the deck is a stone patio with an exterior firepit and new Adirondack chairs with a beautiful view of the lake. The perfect space for those late-night campfire stories...and S'mores of course! After some steps down, you will find yourself at the water and your own private lakefront area with two docks, boathouse and bumpers/ties to dock your boat, paddle boards and a tandem kayak, floaties and life jackets, more Adirondack chairs, 200’ of private lakeshore frontage, and a sandy bottom swimming area. Bring your boat, bring your toys, bring your friends and family! The waterfront area at Stone Lake Lodge is the perfect place to enjoy a true Northwoods vacation! Island lake is one of the largest of the chain of ten lakes and arguably the most beautiful. The walleye and muskie fishing is outstanding but traveling around to the other chain of lakes is lots of fun.

Renting the lodge by the week is standard and there are three seasons; spring, summer and fall.

Perfect for large groups or extended families, the house accommodates up to 21 people in seven separate bedrooms. After a day of water skiing, or fishing you and your guests can gather in the great room around a fireplace, relax on the spacious deck overlooking spectacular Island Lake, or watch movies or play pool in the lower level recreation room.

First Floor:
The first floor is designed for entertaining including a large kitchen with custom crafted Alder cabinets, first floor bedroom, massive great room with a cozy sitting area with expansive lake views, dining room with seating for 10 and a comfortable hearth room with gas fireplace and bar. The kitchen includes two Bosch dishwashers, two sinks, refrigerator/ freezer, beverage center, gas range and large granite island with seating for eight. The kitchen is stocked with all the pans, plates and cooking utensils for meal preparation including blender and coffee maker. The bar includes a built-in ice-maker and bar sink. The first floor bedroom features a queen bed and is located across the hall from a full bathroom with tub/ shower. Located a few steps from the kitchen is a spacious deck measuring 20'x25' with seating for 14 and a gas grill. Second Floor:
The second floor includes six spacious bedrooms and five bathrooms. Three king beds, two queen beds, sleeper sofa, and five twin beds. Lower Level Recreation Room:
The recreation room is very spacious with exceptional lake views from expansive picture windows. A game of pool awaits you or lively card game. Relax and enjoy a movie on the 70 inch television or cozy up with a book by the gas fireplace. If you haven't received enough exercise outdoors the recreation room also features a Nordic Trac cardio machine. 2 sofa beds and a half bathroom are also located on this level. Outdoor Space.
The Lodge is located on nearly two acres with magnificent lake views of the 1,023 acres of Island Lake. Island Lake is the first lake in the legendary Manitowish Waters chain of 10 lakes all which are all accessible by boat. The Lodge is conveniently located just three minutes from Highway 51 and 15 minutes north of Minocqua. Overlooking a quiet bay the beach makes for good swimming and even on gusty days the bay is generally protected from the wind and waves. Included for our guests' use are two kayaks and two stand up paddle boards. A short paddle to the east, is the Manitowish River that allows for excellent paddling on calm water. Located a short distance to the northwest, is a flat, uninhabited (but accessible) island called Pancake Island perfect for an afternoon picnic. A stone stair case leads to the large patio and entertainment area featuring a fire pit, rock ledge seating, and 12 adirondack chairs and three chaise lounge chairs. To make lake access easily accessible there is a blacktop driveway that extends to the lake front ending at the 63' foot pier for easy loading and unloading of boats.

The Manitowish Waters Chain O Lakes is an enjoyable trek for quiet water canoeists and kayakers. From its origin at
High Lake, the river flows for nearly 44 miles before joining with the Bear River to form the North Fork of the Flambeau River. The 20-mile section featured in this guide is nestled in the northwest corner of the 232,000-acre Northern Highlands-American Legion State Forest. Paddlers will find mostly flatwater with occasional riffles as you glide by open marsh and lush, northern lowland forest. A large number of sloughs provide excellent opportunities for exploration
and bird watching. One of the state's more popular canoe camping rivers is the river, with seven overnight camp areas spread out between Circle Lily Creek and the Bear River confluence.

The frequent wide-open spaces of the marshlands immediately surrounding the river make bird watching easy. Warblers, sparrows, finches, thrush, woodpeckers, wood ducks, and hooded mergansers, are just a few of the species that inhabit the riverway in summer. Eagles are also common; you’ll occasionally see one of their massive nests in a tall pine near the river. Beaver and otter are often spotted, and you’ll sometimes see: fisher, white-tailed deer, raccoon, red squirrel, and the occasional black bear. Our “Mani Bay Chalet” includes a sloped pursuit to the water where kids can play.

LAKE: Alder Lake is a 264-acre full rec lake on the Manitowish Chain of 10 Lakes. All 10 lakes are navigable by boat from May through September. The Brick House has 2 piers to park your boats. The nearest boat launches are on Wild Rice Lake (free) and at Greer's Pier Marina (small fee). Waterskiing hours, towing a person, and personal watercraft (PWC) permitted between 9:00am to 7:00pm.

Swim from The Brick House's piers. Kayak or rowboat on Alder Lake. Rent a pontoon through Greer's Pier Marina. Boat to restaurants like Aberdeen, Pea Patch, Little Bohemia. Stop at Greer's Pier for a cocktail and shopping. Go fishing, or hire a fishing guide. Boat to Little Star Beach. All 10 lakes on the Manitowish Chain are navigable by boat from May through September.

Take a walk on rural Alder Lake Road. Rent a bike from Coontail Sports and explore the area's world famous bike trails, like WinMan Trails and Heart of Vilas County Bike Trail. Walk to Cranberry Square gift shop and learn about cranberry farms in the neighborhood. In the fall, see cranberry harvest "the world's most beautiful harvest”. Within a 1 hour-radius explore Minocqua, Eagle River, Lake Superior, the Porcupine Mountains, UP of Michigan's waterfalls, Stormy Kromer, and St. Croix Factory. The Brick House is a scenic 10-minute drive from Manitowish Waters, 30 minutes from Minocqua, and 45 minutes from Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
