- "Fantastic stay. Accommodation as described. Great beach" - "Absolutely perfect!! Exceptional hosts!!! Above and beyond all expectations!!" - "The property is beautiful. Long beach area, very clean, cabin is small but certainly big enough for 3 adults and comfortable (we are 3 -- 60+ year old women). Cabin is basically equipped, may want to get a list of what is there so you can bring along what you may want. Eg. bring along a couple of blankets, sheets, pillows, kitchen towels etc. Hill is a bit of a detriment especially for our geriatric group but we managed to carry our stuff up the stairs. Thank you Matt for helping us out at our arrival. Also thank you for the 2 well used fans in 30+ degree weather!! Great time!"

The renowned North American log home builder from Montreal had the ultimate project to create the wellness retreat of your dreams.
Whether you’ve always wanted a cabin in the woods, or a pine tree behind a ski chalet in glossy magazines, nothing can compete with the charm of a log cabin.
If you like fishing, no place is as good as here at Twin Oaks Lodge. This is the only part of Lake of the Woods that has Trout.
The space
This is a beautiful lake view log home surrounded
by green trees. 2500 sq. ft. Exquisite stone steps
lead to the gate. On the main floor there is a
bedroom with queen size bed and bathroom. The
kitchen is connected to the living room and sun
room. The loft is an open space with skylights, 4
single beds, 2 double beds.
The dock leading to Lake of the Woods can see the lake view in the distance. You can launch your boat directly from cabin ground. Fishing, paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing or just quite sitting. Immerse yourself in the quiet nature and the mirror-like Lake of the Woods, and feel the charm of the soul out of your body.
Not just in summer, even in winter is a view of a wonderland on the earth.
- "A great place tucked back in the woods on a quiet bay. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. The boat landing and dock was a huge time saver and the lake toys were a nice addition. The only thing that could have been better was access to laundry as we had some rainy days fishing." - "Great hosts (who stay unobtrusively on the same property), and a beautiful log cabin on a quiet part of the bay. Good SUP and canoe for guests to use. Useful outdoor grill and outdoor table/furniture. Would recommend slightly more clear directions, or a sign at the final fork in the road (go left). Minor recommendation, but otherwise a really ideal cottage for a family, on a beautiful and picturesque part of the bay. Would happily stay again."

- "I had originally planned a surprise trip for my husband and I, but unfortunately I ended up going solo. Grahame was there to meet me when I arrived and was very nice. The cabin was super cute. Very clean, tidy and welcoming. perfect for 2 or if you are going solo. They make it very easy to rent kayaks and use the online store to book a time to use the sauna. I rented a kayak and went to one of the nearby islands to fish and loved it! There was a couple loons that sat next to me fishing, very beautiful. Sauna was amazing! Very peaceful and relaxing and they have space to do some yoga if you'd like. There are a few trails nearby that are good for hiking, just make sure you look for ticks! The last night I was there I used the hot tub, which was absolutely wonderful. Grahame was so easy to get a hold of if you needed anything, all in all it was a great trip and I am definitely returning!"

- "Excellent" - "Graham and his family have a beautiful spot that he, in his own words, "...loves to share it with others". We had a great, relaxing time. We loved the vintage cabin with its warm wood and all the mod cons. Only drawback is the shower was kinda small (but clean and decent pressure/good temp.) Had a nature walk, swam (love the lily pad there!), enjoyed a fire, luxuriate in the wood-fired hot tub while looking out over the lake, and had a giggle using the pedal boat. We're definitely going back again!"

Summary:
A stay at Bowerbird Beach Camp is essentially a trip back in time so please enjoy the view, the water and the occasional drip of a leaky faucet. Our “no-frills” vibe is part of our charm.
Step away from the hustle of your busy life and immerse yourself in the truly nostalgic experience of camp life. What you will find here is an immediate feeling that you are somewhere that matters; somewhere you'll visit in your memories and relive through shared telling of stories over the years to come.
The Space:
This cabin is one of the oldest structures on the property and a cosy 380 sq ft. This cabin is not for the faint hearted but for those who want a true log cabin experience. The front room makes the most of the incredible view of the beach and the sunset. The cabin is so "original", you don't even have to open a door to get to your bedroom, just pull back the curtain :) There's a full newly renovated kitchen and bathroom in the cabin but the walls of the bedrooms do not go all the way to the pitched roof so be a bit selective about who you bring along to sleep in the room next to you ;)
If creature comfort is what you are after, please look through our other listings. If a unique, nature-filled experience will float your boat, then this is the place for you!
The kitchen has all the necessary amenities like a new retro style fridge, freezer, stove, french press, kettle, toaster and basic cookware. There's both a charcoal grill and a propane BBQ.
No dishwasher and certainly no valet parking service.
You'll be close to your neighbours, whether they be the people in the next cabin over or the many critters, fish, birds and squirrels that have been here long before you have. We’ve left the inside of the cabin relatively untouched with flooring and finishes from a bygone era. A stay at Bowerbird Beach Camp is essentially a trip back in time so please enjoy the view, the water and the occasional drip of a leaky faucet. Our “no-frills” vibe is part of our charm, but it’s not for everyone.
The key to a happy stay is mitigated expectations. What we mean by that is this is a back to basics, no frills, old-school, cabin-living experience. You might have to share the footpath with frogs, kick away goose poop on the beach or squish a harmless spider or two in the rafters. The local animals like squirrels, bears, mice and flies have no boundaries. Food left out is fair game so please don’t leave food outside or out on your kitchen counters.
If you require lots of hand holding, directions on how to turn on a faucet or how to use a charcoal grill, then this just might not be the best fit for you. We have other cabins on Airbnb that feature TV’s, dishwashers, quartz counters and front doors that fully seal when you pull them shut. Feel free to book a cabin there if that’s more your vibe (you know who you are- no judgment ;-).
What we know for sure is once you’ve witnessed your first sunset while floating in the water, you’ll forget about the quirks of the cabin and will turn your focus to the distant call of the loons or catching the fireflies after dusk. The worries of your world will fall away and time will have a different meaning. You will suddenly be aware that you are living what you will come to remember as the “good old days”. This is the summer holiday where you’ll actually sit down and see each other and that your kids will beg you to relive every year.

- "Amazing views, great property!!" - "The sunsets on beautiful Lake of the Woods are amazing. It is rustic, as warned, but I LOVED our little cabin. The water is cold, but I grew up on the US side of this lake so I already knew that. I tried paddleboarding! I watched a how to video first & managed to stand up (after falling in on my first try LOL) & get back on it in chest deep water. Love that they offer free usage of pedal boat, paddleboards, canoes & kayaks. Owner was very friendly & helpful. Restaurants in Sioux Narrows: I recommend Big John's hot hamburger sandwich & The Trailor Carne Asada Empenadas across the road from Gill's. Mom also liked their chicken)."

- "The property was just as listed although slightly smaller than I expected. The lake is beautiful and clean and great for swimming. My only niggles are small: on-site garbage can full to overflowing; light in second bedroom faulty; perhaps advise people to bring a washing line; one bedroom was full of cobwebs in the corners. But, as I said, these are insignificant details to an overall wonderful stay! I should also mention to not forget the bug spray lol! Good value for money."

The owner, Grahame, answered all of our questions and was more than accommodating during our stay. The Citadel is tucked away down a short gravel road and the view can’t be beat. Watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee is a must. We went to Nestor Falls to fish, so we took our boat the short 7 min drive to Lake of the Woods for some great walleye and Northern fishing, and ended each day at the Citadel. Our kids LOVED the zip line and swimming in the lake! The hot tub was icing on the cake after a long day of fishing. We hope to return to the Citadel sooner than later!"

The Space:
This 560 sq ft delight of a cabin is on the end of the row of beach front cabins. Recently renovated, entering into this cabin will bring you to the living and dining room that has a seriously good view of the lake. This cabin has recently had a TV added for watching a movie on those rainy days, but we still prefer watching cuddling up with a cup of coffee and watching the storm pass.

- "We had a wonderful time at the cabin! I'm not expecting anything fancy from a cabin in the woods, but the amenities were all as promised and made for a great stay. It's a beautiful location, very calm and quiet but nice to be around other families enjoying the lake. We loved the beach and the dock. It was great to be able to cook meals in the kitchen. The beds were comfortable. The internet was a little spotty at times but that was expected. When there was an issue with the water, the host responded and resolved the issue quickly. Would definitely return!"

- "Our stay at lebron's camp was great. We came at a time when the water was very high and the mosquitoes were prevalent. Neither of these things of course can be helped by the owners. We we had the camp pretty much to ourselves and while the cabin is tiny it is as advertised. Our family of 5 fit nicely. The kitchen is adequately furnished with most essential items. The stove is very old and and the gas elements needed to be lit by hand but it worked fine! Our shower was more of a drizzle, but I let the owners know so they can replace the shower head. The new owners have definitely been making upgrades to the camp and had a newly installed TV and wifi available, even though it wasn't advertised! We were surprised! There was even a small air conditioning unit which was useful to cool the main room but didn't really reach the bedrooms. There were 2 oscillating fans provided which helped to circulate the air though. Overall, we had a very enjoyable week and would love to come back. If we ever make it back to lake of the woods, of the woods, this is the place we would choose to stay. The area is remote and beautiful but close enough to Sioux Narrows that we could run in for groceries or ice cream anytime. I am excited to see what changes the new management makes. There is lots of potential here and we would much rather stay here than one of the large resorts!"
