- "Comfortable cabin with nice amenities. Very peaceful place. Definitely a hideaway (a little hard to find) but worth it." - "It was better than the pictures! Loved the solitude, the cabin was well equipped and very comfortable. We were in Lanesboro this morning and the owner knows Troy, our host." - "I took my dad and my kids to this cabin for a quick weekend of stargazing, as my dad has a portable observatory good for taking pictures of galaxies, globular clusters, etc. The cabin itself was wonderful, with everything we needed, and it was very clean. The surrounding property was exactly what we needed, with clear views of the night sky, just as the pictures promised. The kids loved exploring the area, and we even made a trip into Lanesboro for lunch and ice cream. A good, quiet weekend. Thanks!"

- "Enjoy staying here every time. Thank you again for everything" - "Always wonderful to stay this lovely home." - "Clean, comfortable and well appointed. It’s private and peaceful while The house is warm and comfortable and just terrific. We’ve stayed at a lot of VRBO properties, and this one is the best of the bunch. We’ll be back." - "All of the other reviews are dead on - fabulous place to stay! One thing to know is that there is a sand mining operation on the river right below the house. So there is constant noise during the day. I was able to think of it as white noise but it was hard for the rest of the family to enjoy the back deck because of it Definitely loved the house and location outside of that issue"

- "If you are looking for a scenic, no frills, simple lodging this is a great choice. Little to no cell phone connection. No TV and other outside world interruptions. Just the scenic beauty, a local heard of cattle grazing, fly fisherman testing their skills against the trout and a camp fire to relax with." - "Great place to unwind. Great scenery." - "We had the most peaceful week at your beautiful cabin! Only one thing I am so upset about, is that we inadvertently left my wooden cane behind. My husband had this cane made just for me. I am so, so sad about this and am wondering how could I get this shipped back to me, on our dime? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am handicapped and so sad about this. It was accidentally left behind the door."

*NEW Set on 200 acres of hiking trails and surrounded by a trout stream, this 6,000 square foot house built in 2001 by the Amish in traditional barn-raising style is astonishing. A family- owned property since the 1890s, all of the wood for the house is from the property. This breathtaking home has 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a bar, a pool table and all of the space a family needs. Open ceilings and breathtaking views make for a wonderful time. Near Root River Biking Trail.
- "The house was beautiful and spacious. The beds were very comfortable and there were extra pillows and blankets available. We loved the large, well provisioned kitchen and the two refrigerators. Lots of dishes, glasses of all kinds, and more pots and pans and baking pans than I've ever seen in a rental! The hosts have thoughtfully provided little bins of those things that are often forgotten (toothbrush, comb, etc.) as well as tea, creamers, sugar and sweetners. A bin of left behind bug spray was nice, although we really did not encounter many mosquitos the week we were there (so dry). The freezer in the garage had extra bags of ice which was great because it is a long drive to the nearest store and the ice maker was not keeping up with our group of 8. Jessica (the host) was very responsive to our queries. We loved the large selection of games and puzzles. We also loved the beautiful pool table and the foosball table. We made good use of all of them. We used the gas grill many nights, ran out of propane, contacted Jessica who quickly replied and said if we would go ahead and refill both tanks, she would reimburse us. We left behind some information on the local towns and activities. We went mini-golfing, bowling, out for ice cream, biking and hiking. Tried fishing in the trout stream, too. Fabulous family vacation in a quiet rural location."
