The location in the Czech Village/NewBo District is near Downtown Cedar Rapids, Art Museum, Library, Paramount Theater, Theater Cedar Rapids, and just blocks from Unity Point/St. Luke’s and Mercy Hospitals, the Geonetric building, numerous restaurants, shops, and other entertainment.

The large attic bedroom has a queen bed and two full beds, perfect to sleep a family or a few close friends and still provide privacy. In the main floor has gathering area with sitting room, a counter to eat at, and kitchen, a full bathroom and access to the large back deck. The basement has a living room with a pullout couch, a king bedroom, and a full bathroom with a washer and dryer.

Construction of new condos on the neighboring property will take place May-Nov 2025 (or when complete) Pets are allowed. You must disclose that you are bringing pets and how many. There is a $100 per pet per stay fee.

The space
You get the entire mother in law unit. There is a private separate upstairs unit where the owner resides and it is independent from you.

There is no common area shared space inside the house. You have your own private kitchen, your own private bathroom, dining room area, and backyard packing pad. With this being an older home with a mother-in-law apartment, you may be able to hear a small bit of movement upstairs from the owner, but during quiet hours this will subside. Please take this into account when booking.

We do not have a washer and dryer in the unit but there is a brand new clean laundromat only .3 miles away. It is a 5 minute walk and just a few blocks down the road!

The apartment has everything you'll need for your stay in Cedar Rapids.

It is located at SW Cedar Rapids, 15 minuets away from the cedar river and downtown, 30 minutes drive from downtown Iowa City and the University. It’s a half of the duplex on the new community, attached 2-car garage, we’ll-stocked kitchen, 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms with landuary, beautiful indoor and outdoor plants and flowers. Library, Jc penny, Menards, Walmart, Target, Starbucks, little Caesars, Noodles Company, appetize, Sushi are just at the corner of my house.

There was one unexpected quirk about the house, the only bathroom was in the basement. There are two places to park off street for the home. Located off the alley there is a gravel parking pad and a one stall garage, both for you to use.

We live in town and are happy to assist with anything you need during your stay. Messages through the app is the fasted way to get a response!

While there is on-street parking, we recommend parking in the back next to or in the garage. The alley can be accessed from either 15th or 16th Ave to 11th St SW. See the last photo how to access from 11th St.
If you become locked out of you unit it is a $50 fee to be let in. We provide two keys and recommend one stays in the lock box at all times.

This is a comfortable, mid size studio room with a single bed, love seat, mini-fridge, small closet and a large oak dresser with a mirror. There are 3 outlets and a small closet with a clothing rod and shelf space. The room has a window air conditioner for your comfort in warm seasons. The winter temperatures are kept on the warm side because they are difficult to balance due to the age of the house. Both windows are sealed in the winter months.

Animal companions are welcome - please read the pet policies. If your animal companion is allowed to inappropriately relieve themselves in the room you will be charged $250 for damage.

You may use our kitchen upstairs. We live upstairs and have a cat, Ollie. There is a separate entrance you can use.

My house is a bit mid-century modern. It was built in 1948 and sits in a very secluded but yet convenient neighborhood. I am near Lindale Mall, Rockwell and I-380. You get the entire mother in law unit. There is a private separate upstairs unit where the owner resides and it is independent from you.

There is no common area shared space inside the house. You have your own private kitchen, your own private bathroom, dining room area, and backyard packing pad. With this being an older home with a mother-in-law apartment, you may be able to hear a small bit of movement upstairs from the owner, but during quiet hours this will subside. Please take this into account when booking.

We do not have a washer and dryer in the unit but there is a brand new clean laundromat only .3 miles away. It is a 5 minute walk and just a few blocks down the road!

This unit has sizeable air conditioner for your comfort during the summer months.
