- "We went to Cedar Rapids for our sons graduation. The host was great from the very beginning, he was willing to let me in early if it was possible to get everything cleaned before we arrived. Our previous rental got canceled, our flight got canceled, everything was just not going well. But they were so great to work with! So understanding and flexible. It was a nice house/apartment. We had plenty of rooms for all of us. It does have a lot of stairs, if you have issues with stairs, be aware of that. Great location, 5 minutes from everything we needed to be at. Street was a little busier than we anticipated, but it was a comfortable stay. "

This cozy studio is located in the historic Newbo District. Shops, restaurants and entertainment are all within walking distance. Alliant Energy Center, TCR, Paramount Theater, CSPS and the McGrath Ampitheater are all nearby. The Cedar Valley bike trail access is also just around the corner.
The space
The loft is on the 2nd floor in a historic building above a small shop. The front room is bright and sunny with room darkening blinds and curtains. There is a queen bed and sleeper sofa in this space. Linens for the sleeper sofas are available upon request. Full kitchen, bathroom, and laundry are in the space. A sound machine and ear plugs are available in case you are ready to settle in and the live music nearby is still playing. The stairway is narrow and fairly steep but there is a handrail and it is well lit. Everything you need for a weekend or a longer stay. Bike storage in the lower level entrance available upon request.

The space
You get the entire mother in law unit. There is a private separate upstairs unit where the owner resides and it is independent from you.

There is no common area shared space inside the house. You have your own private kitchen, your own private bathroom, dining room area, and backyard packing pad. With this being an older home with a mother-in-law apartment, you may be able to hear a small bit of movement upstairs from the owner, but during quiet hours this will subside. Please take this into account when booking.

We do not have a washer and dryer in the unit but there is a brand new clean laundromat only .3 miles away. It is a 5 minute walk and just a few blocks down the road!

The apartment has everything you'll need for your stay in Cedar Rapids.

Please note, we do have an exterior security camera and care for our property deeply. We don't allow unapproved guests who were not added to the booking. Please be aware you are expected to make leave this home in the condition you find it on arrival. Just a quick mile (3 minutes) to the interstate makes this place close enough to be convenient and far enough to be quiet. Or, instead of hopping on the interstate, just continue on into the heart of downtown Cedar Rapids for business or pleasure.

Luxurious 12 inch memory foam mattresses on each bed for exceptional rest. When you're awake, there's a Keurig and high speed internet (100 Mb).

This place is the left half of a duplex. You will have private access to the entire living space. The laundry room is a common space and is shared by the other unit in the duplex.

Parking: You can either park in the garage stall that’s located behind the duplex or on the street in front of the unit. Please be respectful of the other guests and homes and only park in front of the unit you are renting. Street parking is free. DO NOT park in the driveway OR in front of any garages in the back as the driveway is shared and all garages get used.

We’re happy to welcome well-behaved pets, but due to a recent increase in pet-related messes, we’ve had to tighten our policy. All pets must be approved in advance, and there is a $50 fee per pet, per month (maximum of 2 pets). Guests are fully responsible for cleaning up after their pets, both inside and outside the home. This includes all messes—pet hair, accidents, and waste. Any damage or excessive mess caused by pets will result in additional cleaning or repair fees. Unauthorized pets will result in a minimum $250 penalty and may lead to immediate termination of the stay. We love hosting responsible pet owners and appreciate your help in keeping the home clean and enjoyable for everyone.

Guest access
This is the upper unit of a duplex with a private entrance. Guests have full access to the spacious living area, kitchen, and bedrooms. A one-stall garage is available for secure parking, and there's a shared driveway where you’ll park on the right. Enjoy the space as your own during your stay!

Other things to note
The property includes a one-car garage; however, the garage door is not automatic, so most guests prefer to park in the driveway. Please note that this is a duplex, and the driveway is shared with your downstairs neighbor. You will park on the right-hand side, while they will park on the left-hand side. If you have any questions during your stay, feel free to reach out!

Pet Policy
Dogs only. TWO dogs maximum. $50 per pet. For cats, please inquire before bookings; Must be under 60 lbs; Must be house trained; All breeds welcome, must not be aggressive; Cannot be left inside home alone, or must be crated.
