Brand new carpet!! Spacious room with private bathroom. Queen bed and a lazy boy twin couch a child could sleep on, with walk out basement , new patio private entrance. Small refrigerator and microwave.

The space
This is our home, we enjoy sharing our Spacious one room studio apt. There is use of a hot plate, small toaster oven and there is a microwave and fridge. There is not a full kitchen.

There is a possibility of noise from upstairs, the upstairs is our home. Your area is private.

Guest access
Parking will be in driveway or on the street across from our home. Walk along side the house down a slight incline in the lit sidewalk and enter the walkout basement door via the back patio. In winter we try to keep a path shoveled, we have added a nice sidewalk /stairs down the incline. Neighborhood is very safe and a nice large park just a block away. You will probably have a driveway park or across the street from our home is available.

Other things to note
We also have a full house listing above this area. We try to not rent out at the same time the basement is being occupied but We have a fan, CD player and TV that muffles the activity noises upstairs! We don't allow smoking at all in the house.

Welcome to Ankeny! Private lower-level apartment on a quiet cul-de-sac in south east Ankeny; you'll have an entire basement suite for your stay. This space is perfect for groups, families, or business travelers. Sleeps up to 5 people (base price: 2 guests; $10/night each additional guest).The suite has a gas fireplace, queen bed, full size futon and air mattress, coffee nook, and TV / Netflix. Located near I-35 with easy access to restaurants, breweries and more in the Des Moines and Ames area.

The space
This cozy private basement suite has rustic "Up North" cabin-style decor. Take a short walk down a small hill to the backyard to reach the private patio entrance where you will find the key lock box. *(Or enter through home during winter months- with some restrictions)*.
The basement suite has a bedroom with queen sized bed and a large walk-in closet. A spacious private living room has a full sized futon, TV with Netflix and local channels, desk, and dining table. There is ample room for both the futon and a full sized air mattress. You will have a private bath with shower. Our coffee and snack corner has a microwave, Keurig with coffee pods, sugar, and creamer, and dorm-size refrigerator for your use. You can enjoy the ground-level private patio with Adirondack chairs surrounded by beautiful gardens. Please no smoking anywhere on the property.

Guests are welcome to use the entire suite (except 3 closets labeled “Private”), patio, unfenced yard and driveway.

Note: The small hill leading to the apartment entrance may be slippery when wet. There are landscape lights and motion detector lights for your safety.

We live upstairs, so you may hear us occasionally, but we strive to be as quiet as possible.

The space
Your home away from home with a comfortable living area and well equipped kitchen area for your convenience. The unit includes a 3/4 bathroom stocked with shampoo, conditioner, soap, extra towels, and everything you need for a relaxing stay.

The private bedroom features a cozy queen bed, while the main room has two twin beds. We also offer two air mattresses upon request, with all sheets, blankets, and pillows provided. Traveling with little ones? A portable pack-and-play and booster seat are available upon request.

For business travelers, a desk is provided for your work needs. While the thermostat is located upstairs, we're happy to adjust it to ensure your comfort -just let us know!

Please note: Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property. Vaping is allowed outside but not inside the house.

The backyard is a shared space with us but you may also enjoy this space as much as you like.

You may park your vehicle in the far right spot of the driveway or in the street.

Let us know if we can make your stay more comfortable in any way.

Also, please make sure to lock the patio door when you leave.

Other things to note
There is a fire pit on the patio (seasonal) and party lights that you are welcome to use. If you would rather not have the party lights on, we are happy to turn them off for you.

There is a bocce ball set and a swing out back. You are welcome to use these. All we ask is that you be respectful and cautious when you do.

Please be considerate of the noise level for neighbors and us. Quiet hour begin at 10pm on week days and 11pm weekends.

There is an electric skillet, crockpot, toaster, hot water pot, ice maker, Keurig coffee maker all for your convenience. There is also a bar size fridge with a small freezer for your use.

There is a portable fan and heater in the bedroom closet along with extra blankets for your comfort.

There are four luggage racks for your added convenience.

There are two white noise machines for your afternoon napping comfort.

The Smart TV has apps for Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Vudu and others using your own sign on. Please sign out of everything before you leave. We do not have Cable or satellite TV but we do have an antenna for local channels.

Accessibility: the space is not ADA compliant. We have a ramp sidewalk to the entry but it is steep and person in a wheelchair or walker may need assistance. The opening to the apartment is 29" and the door to the bathroom is 27". No steps / stairs at all.
