The cabin is newly furnished and extra cozy. It's well equipped with lightning fast fiber optic WIFI, Smart TV, a full kitchen, coffee bar, and an extra-long dining table. All beds are brand new and all linens are white. Outside you'll find the hot tub, firepit, and lots of rocking chairs and seating options.

There is a ping-pong table, corn hole boards, mini air-hockey table, old time record player, TV with video games and a DVD player with movies in the garage. Great spot for kids or to flip open the garage doors on a nice day and enjoy time with family and friends. You will also find an old-timey, hand crank, ice cream maker for your use.

Outdoors, there are lots of relaxing options from the covered porch, outdoor breakfast table, rocking chairs, and firepit. And, don't forget the hot tub!

There are several marinas who rent by the hour or day. The Shady Pine is located 1.5 miles from Browns Ford boat ramp. Plenty of parking and trailer storage.

We have two, adult-size KAYAKS for your use during boating season (April 15-Oct 15). We will also provide (2) adult-size life jackets,(2) child-size life jackets, and oars.

**Please note: Our walkway to the cove is 120 steps and may be difficult for small children or some older people to manage.

Cove Conditions:
Please Note: Barren River Lake is at summer pool April 15-Oct 15. Our cove varies in depth during this time from 3' to 30' depending on how much rain we get and the Corp of Engineers. We are at the lower/fishing end of the lake, always good for kayaking during summer pool.

Our cove could be dry during Oct 15-March 15. But, still a great atmosphere and plenty of nature to explore.

The name Birddog was our pet name for our beloved Black Lab Mix, Birdie. She was given a golfing name as she was rescued by the golf maintenance man from our local golf course. There were two beautiful sisters approximately 12 weeks old being dumped in a shopping mall parking lot.
I tell you this as Birdie was our first dog we adopted as a family. She was there for it all. She grew in to be the matriarch and welcomed all that came into the house, human as well as animal. She sized everyone up, checked everyone out as the protector she was. Every wayward stray she took under her wing and in her old age when you thought she could handle no more, she always seemed to garner the strength to nurture one more, though maybe with slightly less patience. Her love for all of us was so unconditional words could never describe.
For her incredible life we named our Farm and commit to take all that come to enjoy the gifts that nature has to offer under our wings. This beautiful Hollow of 60 acres is The BirdDog Farm. We have lived here since March of 2018 and hope we can remain, God willing, till it is our time to leave this earth or he makes other plans for us. Our family has always made room in our home for as many as wanted or needed to come and we have been blessed by each and everyone….even those last minute unexpected arrivals.
We have 5 Newly finished Farm Cabins on the property each with private on-suite bathrooms and rocking chair front porches. You can rent 1, 2, etc. or all 5. The 5th cabin is our largest cabin and can be used as a dual purpose gathering room with a small kitchenette as well as sleeping accommodations. WHEN BOOKING MORE THAN 1 CABIN, THEY WILL NEED TO EACH BE BOOKED SEPARATELY. Each room is outfitted with a Queen Size Bed with Memory Soft Mattresses, high quality linens, Wi-Fi, Flat Screened TV's, Coffee/Beverage Bars, Toasters, Kitchen Supplies (Stoneware, Utensils, Glassware), Mini Frig/Freezer, Microwaves, Irons, Hairdryers, USB Charging Ports, 1 set of walkie talkies, binoculars for viewing the abundance of wildlife, smoke detectors, and dry chemical fire extinguishers. Property has a 1 acre lake that is fully stocked with large mouth bass, catfish, and Blue Gill. We have plenty of fishing poles to share. Walkies Talkies can be used to contact the main house or each other as you set out to hike the property, walk down to the neighboring Alpaca Farm, or simply for fun. Outdoor Grills and picnic tables are provided for cooking and eating. Property has a firepit for those chilly evenings or roasting marshmallows ***weather permitting******. We also have corn hole boards, plenty of board games for evening fun, and of course plenty of jars for catching fire flies. Cabins are also stocked with bug repellent, anti itch gel, and first aid kits. Since we are out in the country, the owner provides a selection of complimentary snacks/fruit and additional snacks and drinks that can be purchased on the honor system in each room. If you would like for your cabin to be stocked with specific types of snacks/meals/beverages, just let us know ahead of your arrival and we will have those here for you at a reasonable fee.

We are located about 50 minutes from Nashville and 15 minutes from Cordell Hull Reservoir/Defeated Creek Marina. Fisherman's paradise for Lg & Small Mouth Bass. The farm has room for the boats/trailers and a place for you to plug into. Each cabin will also have a marina pass to get you into the swimming area and boat ramp. There are many other things to do locally and still close enough to Nashville to take in the sights and sounds of music city. - "Quaint, quiet, cozy, clean, remote, relaxing. Almost off the grid, but they do have WiFi to keep you in touch with what you escaped. If you like solitude and quiet this is your place. If you want traffic and noise, keep going. Absolutely perfect tiny house cabins nestled on a remote farm. The only traffic problem all week was a dog sleeping in the road, I kind of regret disturbing his snooze. BirdDog Farm owners are exceptional hosts. The cabin had everything we needed for our stay. The bed is comfy, like sleeping on a cloud. Clean cabin in good repair. Prepare yourself for relaxation, great stargazing without light pollution and abundant wildlife."

Each room is outfitted with a Queen Size Bed with Memory Soft Mattresses, high quality linens, Wi-Fi, Flat Screened TV's, Coffee/Beverage Bars, Toasters, Kitchen Supplies (Stoneware, Utensils, Glassware), Mini Frig/Freezer, Microwaves, Irons, Hairdryers, USB Charging Ports, 1 set of walkie talkies, binoculars for viewing the abundance of wildlife, smoke detectors, and dry chemical fire extinguishers. Property has a 1 acre lake that is fully stocked with large mouth bass, catfish, and Blue Gill. We have plenty of fishing poles to share. Walkies Talkies can be used to contact the main house or each other as you set out to hike the property, walk down to the neighboring Alpaca Farm, or simply for fun. Outdoor Grills and picnic tables are provided for cooking and eating. Property has a firepit for those chilly evenings or roasting marshmallows ***weather permitting******. We also have corn hole boards, plenty of board games for evening fun, and of course plenty of jars for catching fire flies. Cabins are also stocked with bug repellent, anti itch gel, and first aid kits. Since we are out in the country, the owner provides a selection of complimentary snacks/fruit and additional snacks and drinks that can be purchased on the honor system in each room. If you would like for your cabin to be stocked with specific types of snacks/meals/beverages, just let us know ahead of your arrival and we will have those here for you at a reasonable fee.

We are located about 50 minutes from Nashville and 15 minutes from Cordell Hull Reservoir/Defeated Creek Marina. Fisherman's paradise for Lg & Small Mouth Bass. The farm has room for the boats/trailers and a place for you to plug into. Each cabin will also have a marina pass to get you into the swimming area and boat ramp. There are many other things to do locally and still close enough to Nashville to take in the sights and sounds of music city. Each room has a list of attractions, recommended local eateries, watering holes, etc. If you need help planning a day trip just let us know in advance and we'll help you out.

The Birddog Farm
Welcome to the Birddog Farm. The farm is our dream and we are proof that it is never too late in life to act on a big, shake you out of your comfort zone, dream. The name Birddog was our pet name for our beloved Black Lab Mix, Birdie. She was given a golfing name as she was rescued by the golf maintenance man from our local golf course. There were two beautiful sisters approximately 12 weeks old being dumped in a shopping mall parking lot.
I tell you this as Birdie was our first dog we adopted as a family. She was there for it all. She grew in to be the matriarch and welcomed all that came into the house, human as well as animal. She sized everyone up, checked everyone out as the protector she was. Every wayward stray she took under her wing and in her old age when you thought she could handle no more, she always seemed to garner the strength to nurture one more, though maybe with slightly less patience. Her love for all of us was so unconditional words could never describe.
For her incredible life we named our Farm and commit to take all that come to enjoy the gifts that nature has to offer under our wings. This beautiful Hollow of 60 acres is The BirdDog Farm. We have lived here since March of 2018 and hope we can remain, God willing, till it is our time to leave this earth or he makes other plans for us. Our family has always made room in our home for as many as wanted or needed to come and we have been blessed by each and everyone….even those last minute unexpected arrivals.
We have 5 Newly finished Country Cabins on the property each with private on-suite bathrooms and rocking chair front porches. You can rent 1, 2, etc. or all 5. The 5th cabin is our largest cabin and can be used as a dual purpose gathering room with a small kitchenette as well as sleeping accommodations. WHEN BOOKING MORE THAN 1 CABIN, THEY WILL NEED TO EACH BE BOOKED SEPARATELY. - "If you are looking to get away from the noise of the city...this is the place to be. The property is very well guarded and the owners are as nice as they can be. My favorite experience was nighttime. You can actually see the stars like diamonds in the sky. It is majestic!!" - "Wonderful hosts. Anything we needed or even thought we needed, they got it!
