Welcome to the North Cascades and the Moss Top Cabin in the Cascade River Park. Our beautiful, established live roofed cabin is a cozy retreat embraced by the forest in every respect. Breathe in the forest surroundings and listen to the babbling Boulder Creek running nearby. This rustic, off-grid cabin is heated with full bathroom facilities including on demand hot water, kitchenette for cooking and large deck to enjoy the mature evergreens towering above.
Off grid means there's no electricity and no way to charge devices. Lights are battery powered and appliances are all propane.
- "We loved the property, my wife wanted to stay for a whole week (we stayed 1 night). Beautiful setting, convenient to N Cascades National Park " - "So glad we found this little cabin. It was perfect to get off the grid for a few days while still having everything we need. "

Relax and unwind at Cascade River Hideaway after a great day exploring the North Cascades National Park, just minutes away! This 700 sq foot cabin has been renovated top to bottom with nature's palette in mind! Inside you'll walk into a tastefully decorated living room featuring a queen size sleeper sofa, a TV for streaming, a cozy reading corner, a shelf full of games and puzzles, and a charming wood-burning stove. The stunning new kitchen has all the tools needed to make a great meal and includes salt/pepper, oil, and spices. The coffee bar is ready with K-cups or French press, hot chocolate, tea, and a variety of sweeteners and creamers. There's even a blender for smoothies and margaritas! The bathroom has a 7' tall walk-in shower, private toilet room, hair dryer, and basic toiletries (q-tips, cotton balls, shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, lotion, and soap). There is a washer & dryer for your convenience, soap and laundry pads provided. Upstairs you'll find a plush queen size bed, dresser, and a small desk with various charging ports. Step out on the deck, breathe in the fresh mountain air and marvel at your surroundings! Sip coffee, roast marshmallows, BBQ a great meal, or just listen to nearby Boulder Creek while taking in an unobstructed view of Lookout Mountain! Even though the Hideaway isn't right on the river, it sits on one of the best view lots in the park!
Cascade River Park is an off grid gated community with a mixture of stick-built homes, yurts, tiny homes, RVs, and recreational lots. Some residents live here year-round but most come to vacation. The park has a community gathering area right on the Cascade River with swings, picnic tables, and BBQ pits. Community Events are posted at Times Square.
If you continue on Cascade River Road, it will dead end in the North Cascades National Park at the Hidden Lake trailhead. There are breathtaking views just a short drive from the cabin! Or head east on HWY 20 into the main part of the national park, known for amazing river and lake fishing, hiking, and waterfalls!
Marblemount is a quaint town. It has 2 restaurants, a hotel, post office, and 2 gas stations which both carry a wide range of necessities. It is the last town with services before heading over the pass. Concrete and Sedro Woolley are the next closest towns to Marblemount with actual grocery and hardware stores but the nearest Wal-Mart or big box store is in Mt. Vernon or Burlington, about 1 hour and 15 minutes west of Marblemount so it's best to plan your stops before getting all the way to Marblemount.
Finally, guests should know that HWY 20 closes seasonally through the pass. It depends on weather but usually closes late October-mid November and reopens between April-May depending on road conditions. Marblemount is only accessible from the west side of the Cascade Mountains during the winter and 4 wheel drive is recommended to access the cabin if/when there is snow.
You are welcome to use the entire cabin and surrounding property as well as any Cascade River Park community common areas. Please respect the 15 MPH speed limit and quiet hours of the park from 10pm-7am (no generators during quiet hours).
Because this is a gated community, detailed instructions for the gate code will be sent after booking.
We live about an hour away so we probably will not have direct contact but we are more than happy to answer any pre-booking questions or questions during your stay. If you need assistance with something during your stay, please reach out and we will head up there ourselves or have a friend in the park assist.
The Cascade River Hideaway is in a rural area and is surrounded by forest lands. It is imperative that food and trash is stored inside. There is a community dumpster to dispose of trash during your stay. Please clean up food and trash outside and use grill brush on BBQ after using to prevent furry animals from coming around.
If you want to have power, you MUST RUN THE GENERATOR twice a day. An hour in the morning and an hour in the evening after 7am and before 9pm. Its easy to start. There is a remote in the kitchen window sill. Just press and hold the button until you hear the generator. If it doesn't fire right away, just wait. It will try to restart itself up to 7 more times. DO NOT REMOVE THE REMOTE FROM THE WINDOW SILL. If it gets lost, there is a $200 replacement fee. If you use the microwave/ hair dryer/appliances frequently, you may want to run the generator a bit longer. Never use the microwave and hair dryer at the same time. This will cause the breaker to pop... joys of off-grid living! Please be mindful to turn lights and other things off to preserve the battery power. Do not leave any food or garbage outside. Please turn lights off, start the dishwasher, and lock doors and windows prior to leaving. Before leaving the park, return all keys to the lockbox. There is a $100 fee for lost keys/gate card.
Smoking outside is allowed away from open doors and windows. Please use ashtray. If bringing a dog, please clean up after them (doggie doo bags provided) and keep them on a leash/cable while outside. If you go somewhere and can't take your dog with you, it must be crated when left unattended. The Upriver Bar and Taproom allow dogs on their patio seating. Before check out, please load and start the dishwasher. We will handle everything else 🙂

Total Seclusion and Privacy, No Neighbors or Public Roads, Riverfront Cabin, Dog Friendly, Private Trails from the Cabin, Hot Tub, Fireplace, 25 Feet Above Index Creek, Fully Equipped, Wifi and Smart TV.
Patrons say the cabin and almost 50 acres property feels like Shangri-La with its quietness, serene beauty, total privacy and seclusion, no neighbors, and the only road is the cabin private road. This is an amazing beautiful locale where motion pictures are made. You have discovered the perfect getaway near Stevens Pass to inspire your mind and soul.
There is a large hot tub on the deck with stunningly beautiful view of the river and forest and Mt. Index. There is also a firepit above the river, and a large view deck over the river. The cabin is fully equipped and furnished, so all you need to bring is change of clothes and food to prepare in the full-size modernized kitchen or on the propane BBQ over the river with propane provided. There is electric heat, and wood burning fireplaces that add beauty and charm. Firewood is provided.
Accommodation highlights are unlimited wifi, smart tv, Blu-ray/dvd player, an outdoor firepit above the river, and a hammock seasonally at the river edge. In the modern bathroom for your convenience is body soaps, towels, and hair dryer. If you wish to dine out, nearest restaurant is a 10 minute drive.
The cabin and property is nestled in a forested valley above 2,000 feet of Index Creek that dances in waterfalls over river boulders in the middle of 50 privately owned acres. The property goes up the side of a mountain, up the side of another mountain, and up and down the valley. The view from the deck and the floor-to-ceiling windows of the mountains and forested valley, river with sparkling waterfalls, and huge sky is magnificent with Mt. Index at one of the valley and Mt. Baring at the other end. This historic cabin was designed in 1929 by a renowned architect as a hunting lodge for senators and was used for this purpose until the 1960s, when it was purchased by someone who owned it until the mid 1990s. The current owner is now sharing this preserved facility and land with you.
There is large view deck above the river with comfortable chairs, propane BBQ and propane provided, and picnic table.
There are wonderful private trails on this property leading to waterfalls and cozy coves at the water edge. Patrons says their dogs leap in the air with delight with their freedom on the trail. Swim in swim holes, fish for trout on the property. Observe the salmon valiantly swimming upstream. Also, at nearby Skykomish River, you can fish from the shore or fly-fish, boat and swim, and walk the shore of the Skykomish.
This cabin is 1,000 square feet, so there is lots of room to stretch out and relax with corners to get cozy in the furniture and enjoy the views from the various sides of the house.
In the bedroom, there is a cozy queen size bed in a magnificent bed frame with scrolled posts, and this bed overlooks the cascading creek and forested mountains and sky. In the 325 square foot great room, there are 2 couches on separate sides of the room near floor-to-ceiling windows, that fold out to double size beds with deluxe 11-1/2 inch mattresses, and a chair that folds out to a child bed also with an 11-1/2 inch mattress.

Quote by Destination360: “This property and cabin is a great example of a Washington cabin rental. The cabin is set in a wooded valley, and 50 acres of private land wrap you in privacy and isolation. There is an [2,000 foot] area of the Index creek that also belongs to the cabin, so you have this area for your own use. This is one of the more secluded rental cabins that Washington has, so you get the freedom and seclusion that people who come to enjoy Washington State travel will seek out.”

- "Awesome secluded property. We enjoyed every minute." - "I find it difficult to articulate exactly how amazing this place was. It was the perfect place to unwind and recharge with my husband. The scenery was to die for. Killer views from pretty much every angle of the house. The bedroom window view is what dreams are made of. The livingroom window in front of the hot tub is basically the whole wall. We sat there for so many hours reading with the door cracked so we could listen to the sound of the stream. I've never met a comfortable futon in my almost 40 years on earth. Yet, somehow they have two of them! We cat napped in front of the fireplace each afternoon on them. The bed and pillows were also exceptionally comfortable, and I'm a very sensitive sleeper as far as what I'm able to sleep on. You have complete and utter privacy, but pretty much anything you could want or need is 15 minutes or less from the cabin- including awesome hiking trails and spots to fish. Our hosts, Rita and Scott were simply wonderful. They were both so hospitable and just downright cool. Rita went into great detail to show us around and how everything worked, etc when we first arrived. She was also ready to help at the drop of a hat while at the same time respecting our time and privacy. My husband and I joked with each other about wondering if they would adopt us 😂 We had all the comforts of home at the cabin: books, DVDs/VHS tapes, games, grill stocked with propane, firewood, everything I needed to cook meals, you name it. 10/10 recommend!"

Skykomish River cabin is as beautiful in person as it is in photos! And the river is even better!! We had a wonderful time relaxing amongst mountain views and crystal clear water. Our only regret is that we did not bring tubes or floats, as the river was perfect for playing and the sun was hot and shining! The authentic log cabin is charming and lovely with attention to detail. The kitchen was stocked with cooking utensils, spices, etc. The 2 main bedrooms are very comfortable and the loft easily accommodates lots of kids. We had 4 young adult children (17-25) who slept in the common space loft and they found it to be sufficient and spacious. Lastly, there are plenty of amazing hikes and day trips in the area. It was a wonderful stay and we would recommend and return!

Great river access, comfortable cabin
REVIEW DETAIL
Our family of 2 adults and 2 young kids loved our time at this cabin! The inside space is comfortable and well-stocked and the outside space can't be beat. The deck and yard were great for both kid time and solo adult time and the access to the river is excellent with many rocks for skipping, exploring and building, a sandy-ish area with less rocks and slow moving water (great for the kids) and lots of space for fishing. The owner was very accessible and responded to messages quickly. Thank you for sharing this lovey space, we hope to be back soon!

REVIEW DETAIL
Our last night at the cabin my husband and I were sitting by the fire looking up at an incredible scene of stars and I said “in our review of this place is it too much to say this cabin is what dreams are made of?” We decided it was the most accurate statement we could make about the cabin. It’s so perfect! My family had the most amazing time playing by the river, doing nearby hikes and having nightly fires with s’mores. We celebrated my birthday and our anniversary there with our kids and could not have had better days. My boys asked if we could live there and my husband and I want to return every summer. John and Lilah are very kind, helpful and communicative. Thank you for sharing your amazing space with us, we can’t wait to visit again!

- "This is a wonderful cabin in a wonderful location with the most extensively stocked kitchen I've ever seen in a rental. The beds are comfortable, the furniture is comfortable, the layout of the cabin is logical. All appliances work as expected. The deck is spacious, with a gorgeous view of the river and mountains behind the cabin. This property is easily among our favorite rentals of all time, anywhere in the world. Thank you John for sharing your awesome property and for being a fantastic host!"

Whispering Waters has been described as "a band aid for the soul". It is a charming cozy chalet style cabin in the spectacularly beautiful Cascade Mountains of northwest Washington state. The cabin sits on the bank of scenic Skykomish River 60 miles/90 minutes northeast of Seattle, 23 miles west of Stevens Pass Ski Mountain.
The cabin is ideal if you're looking for a romantic getaway. The soaring cathedral ceiling creates a romantic ambiance, as well as a river view from the loft king bed, balcony, and seasonal river rock gas fireplace. The loft's french doors reveal a view of large moss-covered trees on a wooded lot next to the cabin, and the balcony is a scenic place for morning coffee as you listen to the river "whisper" by.
The 600 sq ft vacation rental cabin is perfect for two celebrating an anniversary, honeymoon, or a romantic getaway. The downstairs bedroom has a queen bed, available if you don’t want to climb stairs , bath with shower, outdoor hot tub. Base rate is for 2 people/one bed.
Whispering Waters cabin is in a small rural non-incorporated community in the Cascade Mountains. The closest restaurant is 9 miles away, and the closest grocery store is 13 miles away, though nearby Baring Store has snacks and basic grocery items. With the well equipped kitchen, most guests bring food to prepare simple meals.
If you like the outdoors, the cabin's nearby location to three wilderness areas and a national forest makes it an ideal base. Nearby hiking is fantastic with trails and roads ranging from easy family walks to challenging. There is something for everyone including many mountain lakes, historic lookout towers, alpine meadows, historic railroad sites, mountain ridge hikes and the Pacific Crest trail that crosses US Hwy 2 at Stevens Pass.
Other local activities are river rafting, kayaking, skiing, snow shoeing, rock climbing, fishing, and off-roading.
Whispering Waters cabin is also wonderful for a relaxing getaway. The rocking chairs on the cabin's front porch are guests' favorites for watching the river flow by and bird watching - hummingbirds in the garden, mergansers floating down the river, and the occasional eagle or Osprey soaring by. There are also lounge chairs for relaxing, sunbathing in the front yard or possibly star gazing.
To add to your relaxing getaway, and to ease sore muscles after a day on the trails or ski slopes, the hot tub is just steps out the front door. The hot tub has a view of the Cascade Mountains looming above scenic Skykomish River. The tub is covered with a translucent roof to maintain the outdoors ambiance but protects from the elements when needed.
A cabin stay isn't complete without an aromatic crackling fire next to the river bank. The fire bowl is year-round, weather permitting and there is no burn ban, common in the dry summer months. Firewood is not provided but can be purchased at most area grocers.
The cabin is in a semi-private location with two cabins across the river and a quiet full-time residence downstream, with fencing and landscaping to provide privacy. Empty wooded lots next to the cabin contribute to a woodsy ambiance. The deciduous trees on the river bank are trimmed to maintain a river view while providing summer privacy.
The king bed in the loft has a river and woods view. A queen bed in the downstairs bedroom provides room for an additional person, or if you don't want to climb the somewhat steep stairs. Please let me know if you prefer the downstairs bed instead of the loft so it will be made available. Bedding, extra pillows, and towels provided. Both beds have newer mattresses; a luxury medium firm king in the loft, downstairs a firm queen mattress with a foam topper. The topper can be removed if you prefer firmness. NOTE: To simplify COVID cleaning, the downstairs bedroom is available only when there are more than two people or with an additional cleaning fee.
A small kitchen is set up for simple meal prep, and the river view dining table seats up to 4. The kitchen area has a gas range/oven, refrigerator/freezer/ice maker, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, drip coffee maker, French press, bean grinder, blender/food processor, and hand mixer. Starter supply of coffee, tea, & sugar provided. Dishes, pots/pans, kitchen towels, flatware & cooking utensils also provided. Some pantry items may be on hand.
Charcoal grill with charcoal chimney on the riverside porch (bring briquettes), with a river view.
This Washington vacation cabin is super cozy in winter with the river rock gas fireplace. For entertainment, there is Fubo, WiFi, Netflix, board games, puzzles, a few paperbacks, and Sky Valley area information book.
The area around Whispering Waters is not 'touristy' (i.e. not highly developed), yet attracts thousands of visitors due to the rugged beauty of Washington state's rural Cascade Mountains and the outdoor recreation provided by the mountains and rivers.
The cabin is on the south fork Skykomish River, mostly a class II whitewater rafting, kyaking, and the occasional SU paddle boarder. A good float is from Skykomish ball park 9 miles east/upstream to Baring. Be aware that there are 3 sets of non-navigable waterfalls three miles downstream, west of the cabin. Mid to late summer the river is gentle enough for you to bring river tubes. Though the water is still cold, it is very refreshing when the air temperature rises. The main Skykomish 6 miles west is a class IV whitewater river, with local rafting companies providing trips through popular Boulder Drop. Rafting season is usually May to early-mid July.
The south fork Skykomish with it's sparkling clear water is a Washington Scenic River with seasonal (June 1-Nov 30) fishing for trout and white fish. Even though it is a whitewater river, there is a fairly calm area in front of the cabin for cold water swimming on warmer summer days. The rapids just past the cabin are mild enough in late summer for family tubing. NOTE: there are three sets of waterfalls starting 3 miles downstream of the cabin. Kayakers and rafters start upstream in Skykomish, 8 miles east, or Money Creek for a four mile float. There is a small rocky beach below the cabin, and is a good place to enjoy the cool river breeze on the occasional hot day. Chairs can be placed in the river to cool off even more. Western Washington weather is usually mild throughout the summer but there will be some hot days. Even on hot days the night temps drop into the mid 50's to low 60's which cools the cabin with "natural air conditioning".
Stevens Pass ski area 23 miles east is a popular day-use ski/snowboard area. Whispering Waters cabin is on the west side of Stevens Pass, so you don't have to drive over a mountain pass if coming from the Puget Sound/Seattle area.
At 775 ft elevation, there is not a lot of snow in the winter, but a short drive up the mountain will usually get you to snow. The roads to the cabin are usually snow free in the winter; but one should be prepared for winter driving when coming to the mountains approx. late November to March. Check road conditions and weather report before coming to the cabin Nov-March in case traction devices are needed.
For a festive look, the cabin is decorated for the winter holidays with lights and garlands.
We pride ourselves on providing well maintained very clean rental cabin. We also provide more personal touches than non-local management companies.
We have many repeat customers, drawn back to the beauty of the area and the coziness of the cabins.
Arrival time 3pm or any time after; departure by 11am.
This cabin may is not suitable for small children due to the proximity of the river, an unfenced pond, and stairs both inside and out.
Be aware that the cabin is about two blocks from an active highway and train tracks. Trees and vegetation block much of the sound, and most outdoor activities are on the river side of the cabin with the sound of the river providing relaxing white sound.
There is a recording driveway camera.

- "We spent our honeymoon at this amazing and beautiful cabin. From the minute we parked our car we knew it was going to be perfect. Very easy to get into and it had everything you could need during your stay. The cabin is very cozy and felt like home. It was decorated super cute and was so clean! The views of the river and mountains were stunning. Having direct river access was fun. We used the BBQ and the fire pit almost daily. The hot tub was so nice and relaxing, even during the rain because it was covered. We had coffee and listened to the river every morning. During our stay Brad was so helpful and very kind when we needed help with our car. Glad we actually got to meet him. We will definitely be back next year. Would totally recommend!"

Welcome to your private retreat on the banks of the Cascade River—just outside North Cascades National Park. This off-grid cabin in the gated Cascade River Park community offers the perfect balance of rustic charm and modern comfort.
Whether you're planning a weekend of hiking, fishing, or simply disconnecting from the hustle, this cozy hideaway is your basecamp for adventure and relaxation. Inside, you’ll find a well-stocked kitchen, a coffee and wine bar, and a warm wood-burning stove. The cabin runs on propane for heating and cooking, with a dependable generator to charge the battery bank that powers lights and internet.
Unwind on the private deck, listen to the river rush by, grill your dinner, or stargaze from the fire pit. Best of all, soak in the wood-fired hot tub just steps from the river—an experience guests often call unforgettable.
Though fully off-grid, the cabin delivers a comfortable stay surrounded by stunning natural beauty. And when you're ready to explore, you’re only minutes from North Cascades National Park, known for its wild alpine trails, waterfalls, and abundant wildlife.
You may be here to experience the North Cascades National Park, but this cabin will be the highlight of your trip.
Please note: The use of the fire pit and wood burning hot tub may be restricted due to burn bans during peak wildfire season.
- "Great spot for North Cascades! It's very relaxing and is awesome place to relax with a pretty stream behind the property. It's off the grid which wasn't that big of a issue but definitely different!" - "This place was awesome! I have never been somewhere so serene and wonderful. Great place for family time. The river is so close. We hiked, rafted with Triad, and spent countless hours playing in the river in the backyard. Ron is so responsive and you can tell they want you to have a great experience. I would still recommend even though Highway 20 was closed. We found plenty to do. Definitely one of our favorite rentals ever!"

This private location is off the beaten path but right in the heart of the census designated location of Marblemount, Washington. Snuggle up with a toasty fire in the winter with the wood burning stove or catch an afternoon movie on the DISH subscribed television on a loveseat built for two. The heat pump will keep the cabin warm, even without the use of the fireplace in the winter time and cool in the summer.
Cook your own meals in a full kitchen complete with basic dishes and cookware, drip coffee pot and toaster. A full sized oven will fit a large pizza and the fridge/freezer will keep perishables while you shoot the rapids of the Skagit River right next door. Reheat leftovers with the microwave or on the stove from the local restaurants within walking distance out the front door.
Enjoy the open floor plan of this cozy cabin, perfect for a quick getaway in the Cascade Mountains. The queen sized four poster bed with effective black-out curtains will provide a comfortable night of sleep to hike the Cascade Pass by dawn. Inside the closet, store clothing or sit at the desk for a private space for video meetings.
Small clothing washer and dryer make this location uniquely situated for longer stays, as Marblemount lacks a public laundry. Detergent is provided, but please bring your own softener. The low entry on the shower is easy for those with mobility issues, like sore muscles after a steep climb during Larch Madness.
High speed fiber connected wifi will keep you connected. Take a meeting at noon after stand up paddle-boarding on Diablo Lake at daybreak. Keep in touch with loved ones, download a book or take in a movie with plenty of connection speed.
Approximately 2.5 hours from SeaTac, 20 minutes to Newhalem, 60 minutes to Cascade Pass trailhead, 35 minutes to North Cascades Institute, 20 minutes to the North Cascades Visitor Center

- "The hot tub was great and the place was so comfortable. The mountains surrounding the property were beautiful." - "Adorable little cabin! Melanie was quick to get back to us when I needed to add one more person to our reservation a couple days before our stay. She let us know it was no problem and we very much appreciated this. This cabin was clean, with comfortable beds and gorgeous views all around. This was everything we were looking for in this mini vacation. Even though we had neighbors around us we didn't see, or hear any of them during our stay making it feel very private. The hot tub under the stars was perfect, and the mountains everywhere couldn't have been more beautiful! We didn't do much this time around, but plan on coming back soon to check out all of the beauty this area has to offer. Thank you for hosting us in your cabin and we look forward to returning sometime soon!"

- "This cabin is a dream come true. Sitting overlooking the Cascade River what can be better. Unfortunately, we were not able to get into the North Cascade Park because of fire, but still, plenty of good hikes." - "The reviews did not lie! This cabin truly possesses a magical quality. The setting is unreal—the river and mossy trees provided the perfect backdrop to a relaxing vacation near N Cascades Natl Park. We loved the wood-fired hot tub, deck, and well-appointed kitchen for making meals at home before and after hiking. The white noise from the river through the open windows was the cherry on top. The location near Marblemount was very convenient for all the hiking we did in the park. (The Cascade Pass/Sahale Arm hike was a once-in-a-lifetime hike! Do not miss!) Thanks to Kristin for her responsiveness and clear directions before and during our stay. We would love to come back someday!"

The place looks just like the pictures, absolutely adorable. We couldn't find any extra towels and there were only 3, one for each of us. That meant wet towels if you shower at night. There were no instructions for how to manage the place while you are there. It was fine for us, we just did what we would. I just didn't want to do something wrong and cause an issue. We didn't have any problems and the hot tub was already hot for us. We'd love to come back and stay again, maybe even big a large group and stay in all the cabins. Was so close to the ski resort and in a gorgeous area."

Escape to a serene Japanese-inspired off-grid cabin in Marblemount, WA, nestled in the North Cascades. This charming retreat blends traditional elegance with modern comfort. Inside, enjoy a cozy living space with a wood-burning stove, a fully equipped kitchen, and peaceful bedrooms. Outside, relax on the deck amidst towering evergreens. Perfect for families or friends seeking tranquility and nature's beauty while staying connected with modern amenities.
The space:
Cabin Mori is a charming off-grid property located 5 miles from the Marblemount town center, which means it is not connected to power supplied by an electric company. It is primarily powered by a propane generator or batteries charged by solar. Energy generated by these two sources will allow use of lights, internet (starlink), appliances, etc. Please note that we have limited to no cell service in these parts of the woods, which means you will have to download all the directions and instructions on how to find the place before your arrival - old school style. While we do have Starlink internet, it is slow and with interruptions at only around 150 mbps, so please plan to use it for your basic necessities only as features such as online streaming and video calling will not work.
The cabin is nestled in Cascade River Park, a community which will need to be accessed through a keycard operated gate. This keycard will be provided to guests via a 24/7 accessible lockbox located at a Chevron gas station in the town center on your way to the cabin - detailed check-in instructions can be found under 'Check-in Instructions' upon booking.
Once you arrive at the cabin, you will make your way up a few stone steps to the front porch and enter through with a keypad code into the vaulted ceiling great room. Here you'll find a wood burning stove to cozy up to with some books and games. A large paper lantern hanging above the antique dining table provides a mellow and warm glow under which hearty meals can be enjoyed. The cabin is also equipped with a full gas range and oven, a refrigerator, dishwasher, toaster and electric kettle. Adjacent to the kitchen is a dedicated workspace with chair and counter space.
Down the hallway you'll find two bedrooms, each with a queen size bed and pair of side tables with lamps. One bedroom enjoys a full ensuite bathroom with standing shower, while the second bathroom with tub and hand shower can easily be accessed across the hallway.
The cabin does have central heating along with a wood burning stove for added comfort. Please note that quiet hours are from 10pm to 7am - during this time the generator can not be turned on and the cabin will rely on charged batteries for power. Please be mindful of your consumption during these hours so the batteries don't run out of charge during the night.
The generator will need to be turned on and off manually using the little black and silver remote that looks like a car key. Turn it on for at least 1-2 hours before quiet hours to have enough charge for the night, and on and off in the day as needed when the batteries run out of charge and you lose power, or generally every 4-5 hours for one hour should suffice.
Cabin Mori is our first off-grid venture and a work in progress which we are looking forward to enjoying and improving with time. The cabin provides a true and authentic modern-day experience of living in the woods with limited connectivity and generators roaring in the background, but all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay that encourages slow, mindful living. We hope you will find it as rejuvenating as we do!
Guest access:
Guests will have access to the entire property and its grounds, with the exception of the laundry room and two sheds in the rear of the property which will remain locked.
Other things to note:
While we do have a fire pit area outside the cabin, but please check the park entrance board for burn ban notices as this area is at risk of forest fires, especially in the summer.
There is also a boil water notice in place at the park for drinking water. Feel free to use the electric or stovetop kettles or purchase drinking water for your stay.
Garbage at the park must be disposed of in the main park dumpster - there is no garbage collection service. This will be taken care of by the cleaners at checkout; but if you wish to dispose of any garbage during your stay, please do so at the dumpsters near the gate entry to the park. The key to the dumpsters is located in the credenza by the back door. Please return the key after use.
Please do not leave any garbage outside as wildlife does frequent the area and we do not provide any bear proof bins at this time.
- "Filled with light, clean, comfortable and welcoming. We enjoyed our stay very much. The " - "Beautiful environment, close to the park" - "Great location and beautiful cabin. If accessibility is an issue for you, this may not be a good fit. For us it worked out well. "

This airy Scandinavian-style mountain home is well appointed with a lovely Japanese-tile bathroom, Casper queen mattress, wood burning stove, marble kitchen, & fast WiFi. The home interior is coated in maple panels. The main sitting room has large windows that open to views of the glaciers and orchard. A custom wrap-around sofa provides ample sitting room (it is 8 feet on each side) and a high-end sleeping surface should more than 2 guests be staying.
The kitchen has marble countertops and a Kohler sink. There is a fridge, freezer, and gas stove/oven. There is also a Breville countertop oven that is fast, excellent, and easy. Sharp knives and cutting boards, pots and pans, silverware and plates, a French press and kettle, and all the kitchen accoutrement available for use.

Two Adirondack chairs and a large cedar bench offer a great way to look up at the evening sky or to take a nap in the afternoon sunshine. Stroll around and pick apples, blueberries, blackberries, and plums from one of the 70+ fruit trees on the property. It is imperative that you either print the information we are sending, especially the Final Arrival Instructions we send a week before your stay, or have it downloaded somehow offline so you can access it on the way. We will provide the best contact number to reach us once you have booked. During your stay, you will receive the fastest response by calling (leave a message if no answer), message through Airbnb or texting us as we are not monitoring emails 24/7.
-Damage protection
Our guests are automatically protected by the Waivo damage protection program.

This is a cabin in the woods in the mountains: This is a cabin in a rural / semi-rural setting where weather, wildlife including pests, utility outages, road conditions and other impacts from being in a wilderness setting exist. Although we do regular pest control and have stellar cleaning service, even the newest homes can have uninvited pests. If you already know the site of one will ruin your stay, take this opportunity to rebook your vacation in a setting not surrounded by wilderness. Otherwise, you are accepting in this agreement that you understand that occasional wildlife and insects not ordinarily seen in other settings may be on the property. Guests are expected to be prepared with aws / 4wd or chains to handle driving in inclement/ winter weather. Guests are expected to be able to manage common home operations such as resetting a breaker, unclogging a toilet or using the fireplace. Guests understand that internet and power outages are beyond management's control and although management can help report such outages, ongoing updates and resolutions come from the utility companies directly.
-Neighbors
All our homes feel private, often surrounded by thick trees and wilderness, and hot tubs are all private- just for you- and situated so that you will feel like there is no one else around so guests return home feeling relaxed and refreshed. But- we are just an hour from Seattle and population continues to grow, so keep in mind that most of these homes are in communities with neighboring houses. "Secluded" in our area usually means off-grid with no power or water which are amenities we would prefer to provide!
-Utilities
Our homes are all on wells or have systems that bring water from the river. It is then thoroughly filtered and all systems have been tested to assure it is potable water. However, minerals in the ground often may add an orange taint that can stain spas, toilets, sinks and tubs. Do not be alarmed, it is just something that happens when the water table changes.
Power outages may happen and are often resolved quite quickly unless caused by inclement weather. If your life depends on constant electricity or internet access, staying in the wilderness in a national forest is not advised. Well pumps are also run by electricity so in case of power outages, the water will also be out. We provide emergency lighting, some emergency water, water from spas can be poured in a toilet to flush and most homes have firewood for heat, so guests have the option to wait it out or depart and receive a 30% refund of the nights impacted as per Airbnb’s Extenuating Circumstances policy. We highly recommend purchasing trip insurance, especially during the months of inclement weather when outages can be frequent.
-River
The river changes with the seasons, and each year banks and access points may change as well, so we are unable to make any guarantees on what the condition of the river or access will be but we do our best to maintain access during warmer months. Many of our homes are set between waterfalls. If you plan on navigating the river in boats or floats, please be sure you know the river well or contact someone that does (us, Alpine Adventures, or Outdoor Adventure Center). Children should never be unattended at the river (or in spas). Life jackets are recommended, especially for children, but not provided. The spring months of April - June/ early July tend to be the most dangerous because the weather gets hot, the river looks cool, and everyone wants to swim- but at these times the river is swift and cold from snow melt and the undercurrent is deadly. Please use caution! Please also make sure to check current fishing regulations if you plan on fishing.
-Usage
Owners are sharing their private homes with you, so please honor this privilege by being a respectful guest and neighbor. Events, parties, or gatherings with non-paying guests are not allowed and occupancy is strictly enforced. Pets need to be kept on a leash when out and about and clean up your pet waste. Firearms and fireworks are strictly forbidden!! It is important we all follow these easy rules so counties and neighborhoods will continue to welcome vacation rentals and their guests. Thank you!
-Make sure you've received your "Final Arrival Instructions" link before you go
A week before your arrival, we will send your "Final Arrival Instructions" link via text or Airbnb, and this will have all the information you need to get to, and into, the cabin including access codes and directions. It is important you have this info available offline when you go as cell reception may be spotty on the way. We encourage you to follow our detailed directions, not gps.
-Make sure your guest and pet count are correct
Double check your details, including guest and pet count, to be sure we have the correct information. If you wish to have visiting guests, please let us know in advance so we do not assume they are unauthorized nightly guests. Pets are welcome for just $50 each. We expect pet waste to be picked up and properly bagged in outdoor trash bins. Pets absolutely cannot be left in homes unattended unless they are crated!

Please be aware of the fact that the river level does fluctuate depending on time of year as well as heavy precipitation times. It can be very dangerous during high flow times, always use caution. Children MUST always be accompanied by an adult around the river front. River level varies depending on the time of year; the offshoot of the river that our cabin is on will dry up for 2-3 months, usually mid-July through September. The main river is still accessible from our cabin during this time, it’s just a slightly further walk over dry riverbed to get to it.

Our 1,000 SF cabin was built in 1926, but has been updated throughout the years. The fully equipped kitchen and appliances were replaced, bedroom rebuilt, loft access upgraded and living room updated in 2019 and 2020. New siding was added in 2023, and the bathroom was refurbished in 2024. You'll enjoy spending family time around our fire pit area (gas only), built in 2020. Storage is available for skis, mountain bikes and other outdoor equipment in on-site outbuildings.
The house features a quaint open-concept living area with two sleeper sofas, TV and electric fireplace. A mini-split system heats and cools the cabin to a cozy temperature all year long. The upstairs loft features ample space for kids to play, accessed by “tiny house” style ladder stairs. The bedroom houses a queen bed, electric fireplace and TV. An eat-in kitchen is equipped with all the pots, pans, dishes, and utensils you'll need to seat and feed up to 5, or eat at the table and chairs on the back deck.

Both cats and dogs have been present at the property, if you have any allergic sensitivities.

Our hygge Viking cabin in the Washington woods is called Bifröst. You can cozy up by the wood-burning stove or roast marshmallows in the fire pit. We like to sit on the deck sipping coffee overlooking the river. Hot cocoa and stroopwafels included!
By car, it is 16 minutes to Stevens Pass for skiing, snowboarding, hiking, and snowshoeing.
The space
Cozy comes first at Bifröst. It has a fire pit, a wood-burning stove, two reading nooks, a projector room, a kids' room, a loft, and a deck overlooking the river.
There are two desks for working, and there is a projector with Chromecast support and an HDMI input in the wall.
The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, dishes, coffee, cocoa, and stroopwafels.

- No animal products are used in Bifröst's furnishings.
- All of Bifröst's electricity comes from renewable resources like wind and solar, as we are enrolled in the PSE Green Power program.

There is a large driveway, with room for 2 cars in the winter or 4 in the summer.
Other things to note
Winter warnings: You must have chains, AWD, or 4WD to visit during the winter. The neighborhood roads are plowed but not heavily, so there is still chance of getting stuck on them without any of these. The Bifröst driveway is not plowed.
Heavy snowstorms can sometimes knock out power for multiple days. These are rare but they can happen. Be sure to have food and water on hand that doesn't need power to cook.
We follow Airbnb's Party and Events Policy, which currently has a global ban on all parties at Airbnb listings.

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. New bathroom with steam shower and jacuzzi tub. Enjoy this cozy cabin on a property featuring its own babbling creek. Fire pits, wood, and ample woods to explore.
The space
The perfect cabin for a getaway, located just 40 minutes from downtown Seattle and 25 minutes from the Snoqualmie pass. It is one of 5 cabins on the property, right next to a large creek, and a bridge connecting to many walkable trails. It is somewhat of an open concept with 2 queen beds and 1 couch/TV area. It is just off of I-90 and then five minutes up a more secluded winding road.
Note: This cabin has a garage connected to the same structure, but with no shared entry points. It is sometimes frequented by the owner throughout the day, but intrudes very little on the overall experience.
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire cabin. There is a shared fire pit and outdoor seating. There is a bridge and guests have full access to explore the woods the across the river. There is also firewood that we have stored for guest use, outside just across from the cabin.
Other things to note
Pets are welcome, but as we have other Airbnbs on the property please keep them leashed and pick up any waste.
New host, same amazing cabin! Discover this charming rustic getaway nestled in the heart of the forest. With breathtaking views and a cozy ambiance, this is the ideal spot for camping enthusiasts who seek a somewhat rugged yet cozy experience.
**Nature at Your Doorstep:** Minutes away from hiking trails, climbing at the Index Town Wall, and winter sports at Stevens Pass.
Whether you’re looking to unwind with a good book or embark on outdoor adventures, this cabin is your sanctuary.
The space
The cabin is located in a gated community just east of the town of Index. It is semi-off-grid, which means it features some unique systems that might be unfamiliar, but it still offers many modern amenities you’re accustomed to. Please read the details to make sure it’s a good fit.
WINTER CLIMATE: All-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive vehicles or bringing chains is recommended, as road conditions in the winter can be tough, even with plowing. Given we're in a remote mountain area, storms can cause trees to fall on power lines and power outages can occur. We have some wood fuel stocked for stove heating (that will require fire-building skills).
HEATING/COOLING: Electric wall heaters are the primary heat source. There is also a wood-burning stove available. Note that we don't have AC but do have ceiling fans. Kitchen and bedroom windows open for more breeze, and our patio door has a screen option.
SLEEPING: You will have a cozy sleeping loft with a queen-sized bed that is accessed by a ladder. Children are not recommended due to steep ladder. Pets are recommended to stay on the bottom floor.
KITCHEN: There is a refrigerator, freezer, kettle, and a French press coffee maker. A 4-burner propane stove with an oven is available, along with everything necessary to cook simple meals (e.g., pots, pans, cutting boards, utensils, plates, bowls, cups and mugs). Potable, filtered water is pumped in from a large tank outside.
BATHROOM: There is a shower and an electric “incinolet” incinerator toilet. The toilet is easy to use, as operational use is similar to a normal toilet. Instructions are provided at the cabin. Children are not recommended for safety reasons. There is a small hot water heater that is great for short showers (not long ones!) and we provide towels, soap, and shampoo.
WIFI & CELL SERVICE: There is no wifi at the cabin and cell service is spotty in this area. Verizon tends to work best.
WET GEAR: A “DryGuys” gear dryer with 4 ports and a heat/no-heat forced air option is provided for guests.
Guest access
Due to the private nature of our community, river access is only from private property. Our cabin does not have private river access. A map showing public access entry points is provided at the cabin.

Also our cabin is great for a staycation, as a work-from-home alternative, or for families. Take advantage of our greatly reduced monthly rates.
With the exception of our mud room entrance, she is wall to wall beautiful hardwood floors with wool area rugs. We used nature colors for the outdoor enthusiast to feel right at home.
Our kitchen has stainless appliances and comes heavily stocked with plenty of appliances, cooking utensils, dishes and staples to make cooking really easy and fun. Just bring your fresh ingredients and you will be set to go.
All our beds are memory foam mattresses. The bedding is all nice, cozy and warm flannel sheets in the winter and organic sheets in the summer. There are down pillows and some foam pillows.
The master is a queen size log bed, that has its own bathroom, coffee service, chest of drawers, chair, 43" flat screen 4K Smart TV for watching netflix, a walk in closet with a barn door, and a sliding door out to a private deck and beautiful mountain/forest/pond view.
The guest bedroom has queen size bed, 42” flat screen 4K smart TV for watching Netflix, a desk with some office supplies, chest-of drawers, chair and a closet.
In the hallway, we have created 2 unique sleeping cubbies each for 1 person. We call them bear caves. They are like twin beds but enclosed in an opening 79" long, 39" high, and 32" wide. They were uniquely designed with kids in mind but adults seem to like them too as each private cave comes with its own lights and electric plug-ins for your devices.
Both bathrooms are stocked with lots of pretty towels and plenty of toiletries. The bath/showers are well stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body gels, etc.
Each room has separate heaters for individual temperature control. We also have a propane fireplace in the living room that works even if you lose power.
We have Starlink so our internet service is very strong. In addition our flat screen TVs are 4K smart TVs with Netflix, Pandora, etc. We also provide xbox.
We have a game table with plenty of games and an on going puzzle to add a few pieces. (Chess, backgammon, checkers, yahtzee, scrabble, dominos, cribbage, and Apples to Apples, just to name a few)
We encourage people to go outside so if you feel like chillin at the cabin, weather permitting, we provide outdoor games like horseshoes, tic-tac-toe, Jenka, bowling, and bag toss . We have a fire pit and plenty of firewood but must check whether burn ban is in effect or not before building small campfire. A choice of Traeger grill and a large propane grill is provided for all you grill masters. There is a chair set up for overlooking the beaver pond for ultimate relaxation. The beavers, however, are not currently in residence.
After a day full of extreme activities on the slopes, hiking, river rafting or rock climbing enjoy a massage right here at the cabin by Kelsey. There are brochures in our guestbook. We suggest you book in advance to assure she is available. Joni can help you with this reservation if you want to book in advance of your arrival date.
We also provide brochures for River rafting and ATV guided tours. Make sure you check out our guest book.
And finally, our home would not be complete without a musical instrument. We have provided a guitar for your use and hope you create some pretty music too!!!
Guest access
You will have access to the entire cabin. Everything there is for your use and enjoyment.
Other things to note
Skykomish is an historic train town so you will hear the trains as they go through town blowing their warning train whistle. In addition, we are only a few doors down from the fire station. If someone calls 911 in the area, a warning siren goes off. This is only brought to your attention so you don't need to be concerned when you hear them.
We also have security cameras on outside perimeter only just for monitoring if a break-in should ever occur. We want to assure you that your privacy is of utmost importance to us.

Other things to note
-communication
Our area has many places where there is little to no cell reception so please do not rely on internet based apps such as a map app to get to your property.

PATHWAY in FRONT of CABIN
You'll find that the cabin is quiet and pretty private, but there is a public easement along the river that is "technically" public access. With that said, few people ever walk through the property.
Other things to note
RIVER ACCESS
You can access the river directly in front of the cabin, or there is a small community beach nearby about 50 feet away. If you're facing the river, head right onto the trail/main pathway, and then turn left.
In the summer months, water levels are low and the river is usually calm enough for water activities. The current move quickly though depending on the changing conditions so please use your best judgement. There is a hose on the side of the cabin that can be used to rinse off sand before going back inside.
During the rest of the year, the currents are VERY strong and water levels rise rapidly during storms so exercise extreme caution as you get near the water.

Guest access
This is a private cabin with access to the river via trails through the front of the property and a climb down a rocky hillside. This is not easily traversed by all guests and could be hazardous for small children but does offer direct access to the Skykomish river. The property offers plenty of space to wander through the forest and enjoy river views. The driveway is shared by a private residence that is situated about 300 feet to one side of this cabin rental.
Other things to note
-The stairs are a bit tricky to navigate for some guests so we have built-in multiple hand rail supports to help guests to navigate the climb.
-The property is located off a busy highway. Traffic can be heard from the cabin and pulling off and on can be tricky. There is a pull-off just opposite the entrance to the property that can be used to let fast-moving traffic pass.
-There are train tracks located across the river from the property. Most people enjoy watching them pass but they do run during the day and sometimes at night. A noise canceling machine is provided for use at night.
