Cleaning Note :-) I think some Vacationers would like to know that I do 100% of the cleaning between Vacationers myself.
I usually schedule/block a day or two minimum between vacationers so I can take my time and clean/disinfect the cottage. Please read my reviews for the Driftwood Cabin! It really is a magical place :-)
All linens, bed covers, towels, blankets and such are laundered complete between Vacationers. We always provide new pillows, comforters, sheets and try to offer the cleanest and most comfortable environment for our guests!

Eagles on the beach at low tide, whales feeding in the shallows in the Spring, steps from the beach with no-bank waterfront - all of this in a community of only nine homes/cabins. There are no other cabins/homes for approximately a mile in one direction and two miles in the other which provides a perfect setting for romantic solitude and a safe haven for children and pets.
Upstairs is an open cathedral ceiling second story with two queen beds and a double bed.. Downstairs, in addition to a living room/kitchen area there is a small bedroom with a new full size bed with a 4 inch topper. Also, there is 3/4 bath with shower. Sit on the deck and enjoy views of the Cascades, Mt Baker, Mt Rainer and across the Beautiful views from Mount Rainier to Mount Baker, as well as, Hat Island, Mukilteo and Everett. Literally 10 steps down a slightly sloping concrete ramp. Only ten minutes from the ferry and five minutes from the charming town of Langley.
Please note that holidays such as New Years, Memorial Day, etc. that are not in the summer will be charged at summer rates. I do not post the following years rates until December. Reservations for the following year will not be accepted until the new rates are posted.
ABOUT PETS - Please note that pets are not allowed upstairs in the large, open sleeping area due to some guest's allergies. There is a dog gate and a door with which to close off the upstairs. Please note that dogs should be washed off outside - not in the shower. Washing them in the shower will necessitate the damage deposit not being returned. (Which goes directly to the cleaner.) Do not leave your dogs alone in the cabin or yard if they bark. This makes the neighbors crazy and I immediately receive irritating phone calls! I'm a long time dog mom so I understand that this is inconvenient for you. I'm sorry.

Escape the hustle and bustle of city life, in this peaceful woodland cabin retreat. Just 1 hour from Seattle, this very private and secluded cabin in the woods is just a ferry ride away. Your vacation begins with a short 20 minute ferry crossing from Mukilteo to Clinton. You can feel the stress of everyday life melting away the moment the ferry leaves the shore. The perfect quick get-away to celebrate an anniversary, honeymoon or writers retreat.

The kitchen is fully stocked with small appliances; coffee pot, waffle iron, blender, toaster, crock pot, pressure cooker, iron skillets and large stainless steel pots for soup. There are plenty of utensils. The pantry is stocked with many staples, such as flour, sugar, coffee, teas, honey, olive oil, etc. There is a hot water dispenser lever at the kitchen sink. Great for a quick cup of tea.

The cabin can sleep 2-4 people, but is ideally intended for couples. There is 1 queen bed and 1 twin bed together in the upper loft and a comfy sofa in the Living Room. The bedding is new and soft. Plenty of fresh linens and towels are provided. Small shampoos and hand soaps are provided as well. Take a soak in the claw-foot tub during your stay. Bubble bath is under the sink. When the windows are open, it feels as if you are bathing in the midst of the forest. The only onlookers will be “Willow”, the mama deer and her fawn “Fern”. Ideal for bird enthusiast, and hikers. The movie "My Greatest Year" with Steve Martin is a great comedy that documents birding on the island.

Sip on a cup of tea in front of a warm crackling fire, by the large indoor rock fireplace. A fire is always prepped and ready to light upon your arrival. There is wood stacked beside the 'little people door' outside the living room. There is a gas grill on the outside deck. You are welcome to use it, or you can cook over the open fire pit. Smores’ are especially yummy at night. There are modified golf clubs turned into marshmallow roasting sticks available.

In the evenings, listen for the owl hooting to its mate through the trees. The cry of a majestic eagle as it soars overhead is always a memorable sound. When you are hiking the property to the State Park, see if you can find their nest very high up in the tops of 80-120 ft trees. They are absolutely amazing! In the morning, enjoy the tranquility of the property with a cup of coffee out on the front porch, while enjoying the small birds having their breakfast from the feeders. And it’s always entertaining to watch the playful chipmunks in a game of hide-and-go seek.

A bit of the cabin’s history:
This charming Log Cabin on 4 acres was built in 1902 by a ship builder and his three sons, in the midst of an 'Old Growth Forest. They used it as a fishing cabin. There was a fire on the island in 1910, but most of the trees around the cabin, and the cabin itself were spared. It was heated with a rock fireplace and an old stove that was built out of an expandable steel barrel, which is still on the property. When we purchased the cabin in 2007, the fireplace was falling in and had to be dismantled and rebuilt. A wonderful rock mason from Yugoslavia rebuilt it. Most of the stones came from an underground spring discovered on the island at the Naval Air Station in Oak Harbor. There are still several tons of rock on the property, which we hope to someday use to add a downstairs bedroom. There is a photo album in the living room containing many original pictures.

We tried to keep within the period of the early 1900’s in the kitchen. The stove is a replica of an old wood stove, but is actually electric. The old sink came out of a house in Seattle that was being torn down. What used to be a ladder to the sleeping loft is now a set of stairs made from the wood of one large tree milled on the property. The old loft ladder is now in the bathroom. It can be used to store suitcases above the washer and dryer. We have chosen mostly antiques for the furniture. They have a special charm and each piece has a story. There are many interesting stories about the cabin and various people who have called it home.

Descend the spiral staircase to the bunk room. The kiddos will go crazy over two custom bunk beds and two built-in berths, each with its own storage area and night light. The kids' room is complete with puzzles, games and ample room to play. The lower level also features new carpet, a second bedroom with a queen bed and its own private entrance, and a full bath with an over-sized washer and dryer.

DBBC is located at Double Bluff Beach and County Park, a premier spot for outdoor water sports and activities including fishing, crabbing, clamming, kayaking, kiteboarding, skimboarding and paddleboarding. The cabin is minutes away from grocery shopping in Freeland and the Saturday Bayview Farmer's Market (late Apr-Oct). - "This was one of the best VRBO properties I have ever stayed in. The communication with the owner was very prompt and he even helped arrange rental of some crab rings. He also thoughtfully and without me requesting brought over a turkey cooker which could be attached to the gas grill to boil the crabs in. The house had comfy couches, an amazing view, very comfortable beds (felt like tempurpedics) and tasteful decor. The kitchen truly was well stocked and we had everything we needed. The photos accurately depict the house which was clean and comfortable. The view was wonderful and we lucked out with a super sunny weekend in October! I would strongly recommend this rental to anyone interested and hope to return to enjoy the beach again soon. As another reviewer mentioned the stairs could be dangerous for a toddler. We pulled a trunk in front to block it which worked but an optional baby gate and a pack and play would make this place truly baby/toddler and kid friendly. "

Welcome to The Hidden Haven! Our fabulous 2 Bed/2 Bath A-Frame retreat sleeps 4 comfortably. It is the perfect place to unwind! Stocked KITCHEN w/ breakfast counter for 2. Open to the living/dining area so you will never feel like you're away from everyone when you're cooking. DINING area seats 4 (can seat up to 8 w/advance notice.) Tablecloths, wine glasses, candles, etc. to set a nice table. LIVING area w/wood burning stove that makes it super cozy. It's a great place to hang out. QUEEN BEDROOM/LOFT w/quality linens and it's own small bathroom. BUNK BEDROOM on main floor with nearby downstairs bathroom that just underwent a major remodel and is gorgeous. DECK w/outdoor dining space for 8 when the weather allows and a year-round BBQ. This home is all DIY and has had a lot of love put into it. We love it there and love to share it!

The HIDDEN HAVEN makes for a wonderful retreat and is constantly undergoing upgrades and improvements! Cork flooring and a gorgeous new bathroom are two recent upgrades that we love.

The KITCHEN underwent a complete remodel in the summer of 2016. Owned by someone who loves to cook, you will find it is fully stocked with everything you need to make and serve a delicious meal. The kitchen is open to the living and dining areas so you will never feel like you're stuck cooking while everyone else is having fun. The breakfast bar seats two.

The DINING area is set for four, but (with advance notice) can accommodate your dinner guests with an extension that allows seating for up to eight. Placemats and tablecloths are available for your use and there are plenty of dishes, silverware, wine glasses, and candles to set a gorgeous table.

The LIVING ROOM has plenty of seating, warm lighting, and fuzzy throws. It's a great place to gather. The wood stove keeps it cozy even on the coldest of nights. Firewood is available for your use. Please note: there is no TV, but there are games, books, bluetooth speaker, etc. to keep you entertained (and high speed wi-fi if you need to work or stream a good movie!)

The MASTER BEDROOM is in the loft. The views from the bed make you feel like you're waking up in a tree house. While open to the living room below, it provides quite a bit of privacy due to the structural design. It has a Queen-sized bed with good linens that will provide a super night of rest. Drawer storage and space to hang your clothes is abundant. The loft is served by it's own small bathroom w/shower.

The DOWNSTAIRS BEDROOM contains Twin L-shaped bunk-beds with good linens and sleeps two very comfortably. Beach chairs/towels, extra duvets, games, kids books, Lego and room for your things can be found in the large closet. Down the same hallway on the ground level, you will find the larger bathroom that was just remodeled with a spa style shower.

The DECK is a great place to hang out when the sun is shining. It's the perfect spot to relax while you enjoy your morning tea/coffee. The patio table can seat up to eight when the weather is right for a meal outdoors. The BBQ is available for use year round. Deer frequent the yard which feels worlds away from the rest of the world because the yard is surrounded by trees. Blackberries can often be found ready for picking all along the far side of the driveway.

The LOCATION is a 10-15 minute drive from the Clinton Ferry, 15-20 minutes to Downtown Langley (the Whidbey Transit bus stops in front of the house), just 1.5 miles to Maxwelton Beach, and generally no more than 20 minutes to nearly everything South Whidbey has to offer.

The PROPERTY is a 7,00 square foot lot with a stand alone A-frame cabin home (in a neighborhood of homes occupied mostly by full-time residents) and you will have it all to yourself during your stay. It's enclosed by a wall of trees and feels very private even though there are adjacent lots of similar size, most with homes occupied by permanent residents.

Whidbey's most desired location, Sunlight Beach, on gorgeous Useless Bay. Enjoy eagle and birdwatching, clamming and crabbing in front of your Beachhouse. With the the majestic Olympic Mountain Range in the background the view from the cabin looks across the bay towards Double Bluff on Whidbey Island to the right and Foulweather Bluff on the northern tip of the Kitsap. To the far left your view is looking south down the center of Puget Sound and on a clear day you can see all the way to the skyscrapers in Downtown Seattle. In the foreground you will see a tidal lagoon that is full at high tide when the water comes right up next to the fire pit in the front yard. At low tide the lagoon empties completely and beyond the sand bar enclosing the lagoon are miles of sandy tide flats for hours of sandy beach combing. Newly renovated with an accessible bedroom, open kitchen, and great room. The cabin is a wonderful place to get away from crowds and to enjoy nature.

It’s a fabulous place for large and small children! Romantic escape for couples. Ideal retreat for artists and writers.

This beach cabin was built by our Norwegian uncle, Hans, a fisherman and logger. He built the cabin as his home in the 1930s. It has been renovated with accessibility in mind since we have had multiple family members using wheelchairs and walkers over the years. The large open living, kitchen, and dining space has big picture windows so you don’t miss a thing. A comfy lift chair adds to the amenities. The kitchen is fully equipped. The dining corner has room for six (but don’t tell anyone we have crowded 8 around it for crab feasts). The deck off the front provides a level entrance to the cabin as well as a grill and chairs to chill on or sunbathe in. The cabin has housed many great family reunions.

Over the past few years we have made some exciting changes to our cabin. Our goal is a truly accessible beach cabin. The main bedroom with large windows overlooking the bay has doubled in size and has room for a power wheelchair on all sides of the queen bed. It has a 2nd bathroom with a 36" wide door and step in shower. The cabin has a level entrance, a light-filled great room, and a kitchen all designed with a wheelchair in mind. The original bathroom off the main living area is only partially accessible. Please feel free to reach out with questions.

A walkway from the bulkhead across to the nearest spit provides easy access to the tidal flats of Useless Bay. It is also a fun place to see small crabs and fish for them with a hotdog baited pole - a time honored tradition for kids!

Visit the nearby village of Langley, just 10 minutes away. Perched on a bluff overlooking Saratoga Passage, Langley offers plenty of restaurants antique stores and art galleries. Historic Coupeville is just a half hour up the island.

It's mostly very quiet as only electric motors are allowed on the lake. However there are many houses around the lake and a public access, and voices do travel. That said, I am super noise sensitive and I didn't have any problems with the noise levels. A huge plus is the property management company. They are very communicative and clearly take excellent care of the property. Plus there's a rowboat! I would return in a heartbeat."

The views were spectacular and the home had everything we needed for a comfortable visit. There are a number of comfortable places to sit outside to enjoy a cup of tea and a book. Inside, the cabin is roomy and very clean with all the amenities you need for either a short or a long stay. Each room, including the kitchen, is a generous size and very, very comfortable. I really enjoyed Putney Woods across the street. Loads of trails and just a great place to walk. I hope to be able to return soon. I can't imagine staying anywhere else when I get the chance to visit Whidbey."

The 2nd bedroom's bed was uncomfortable and not study enough for adults. The room is fine for kids just not adults. The frame squeaked and moved every time you made the slightest movement. In addition, the mattress slopped inward. Purchasing a different bedframe and mattress would make it more of a room for adults as well. Also, the neighborhood is great and very quiet! As you enter our home a wall of floor to ceiling windows will greet you. Unveiling a stunning view of the strait of Juan de Fuca, and the beach is literally outside the front door. Our home was built with only one theme in mind…the view. The window canvas allows you to take in all the sites and the natural beauty of the wildlife visiting the beach or swimming in the ocean. The bald eagles, cranes, and seals will greet you throughout the day, but they are especially playful in the morning. Wake up to the sound of the waves, and the water hitting the rocks. Relax on the front porch with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine as you listen to the ocean glide across the beach. Depending the time you visit, you will be visited by a beautiful sandy beach you can walk miles on.

We just finished our gorgeous remodel and are ready to share it with you! The kitchen has brand new appliances (refrigerator, microwave, and stove). The 2 bedrooms and large bathroom boosts new beautiful LVP. We gutted the bathroom, reconfigured the set up and created a luxury spa. Any time of year is better at the lake - fishing in the spring, paddle sports in the summer or storm watching with a coffee and baileys - you always win at the lake!

This is a cabin with rustic charm - it is well appointed, cozy and has everything you need but is not a modern house.

The property also includes a small boathouse for play gear. The private dock allows for water sports and relaxation! Two houses are located on this property - your cabin is closest to the lake.

The lake is non-motorized (electric or paddle power only). It is stocked with rainbow and coastal cutthroat trout.

Beautiful Whidbey Island awaits you with this welcoming dog-friendly vacation home. You are right on Goss Lake, a very peaceful location that's still only a short drive from Clinton, Langley or Freeland. The house is very private - on the lake but set in the forest - ideal for enjoying all that Whidbey has to offer or just relaxing on the water.

The couch in the living room is a queen sofa-bed so the cabin can accommodate 6 guests but it is very cozy with 6 adults. It is better suited to 4 guests or 4 adults + children. We have had lots of rentals with 6 guests with no issues whatsoever but just wanted to mention this.

What's nearby:
It is only a 5 min walk away from the Putney Woods trail system - great for mountain biking, trail running, or hiking. Or it is just a short drive to the ocean with many beaches to explore.

The charming town of Langley is packed with shopping, dining, museums, and art galleries to explore. It also features its own beaches to experience thanks to Seawall Park.

There are not any stores near Goss lake - Freeland is the closest area for shopping and picking up essentials. It is only 4 miles and a 10 min drive away - the Payless grocery store has everything and the staff are very helpful and friendly.

*** Also, there is a soft tub at the cabin - we don't mention it in the listing description but yes I know there are pictures of it. The reason we don't mention it is that it is a fickle creature and prone to error. It does work almost all of the time and is super relaxing with an amazing view of the lake but every now and then it does not and it is hard to get someone in to service it these days. If your entire vacation is based on "having" a hot tub and it is a "must" item please book another property with a proper hot tub. We don't want to disappoint anyone in any way - thanks for your time and understanding!

- "What a wonderful stay! We enjoyed the views. We loved walking in the neighborhood around the lagoon. It was close to the Central Whidbey and we used our own e bikes to go to Coupeville and the nearby sculpture park. It was a very dog friendly house. Our lab loved playing fetch in the yard and visiting Double Bluff Beach Dog Park on the south end of the island. We also brought our own kayak and paddle board and dropped them in literally across the street. Our whole family was comfortable in this home. The owners kept a stocked pantry that we were free to use. How nice! Everything you’d expect from Premier Owners."

The island is now host to many wonderful restaurants where you will enjoy many organic options and local fare including Penn Cove muscles. Also, you will enjoy the many art galleries throughout the island and antique shopping aplenty!

This charming vacation cabin nestled among tall pines and cedars features stunning western views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. On the practical side, there is a washer and dryer in the cabin--this was helpful with messy kid play clothes. We brought a wagon to pack towels and sand toys for the beach (and cart tired kids back to the cabin). This is a magical cabin, in a magical bay, on a magical island, in the magical pnw. We made memories we will recall for a lifetime...and took a zillion pictures to sort through when our kids are older."

Things to note about the property:
- The walkway from the parking to the cabin is a fairly steep and not ADA approved, so if you have mobility challenges this may not be the stay for you. If you are arriving in the dark we recommend using a flashlight or phone light to watch your steps as the walkway is not well-lit.
- The property is located in a quiet tight knit community and is a truly peaceful getaway, thus it not a good location for loud groups.
- There is direct access the to beach via the staircase in front of the house. There are quite a few stairs to get to the beach, so if stairs are a problem for you please take note.
- Parking only for two vehicles max. If you have guests during your stay or more vehicles you will need to park on the street and walk (.25 miles)

We do have wifi (works well for zoom and tv streaming) and a landline phone. Cell reception has improved greatly over the past few years, but can be spotty at times.

Island Happenings: You will enjoy all that there is to do on the island; we provide maps and hike information. Several walks can begin right here from our property and there are numerous other hikes available a short drive away--enjoy hiking the old growth forest only a few miles away, or enjoy a bluff top hike along the Puget Sound at nearby Ebey's Landing. The island is now host to many wonderful restaurants where you will enjoy many organic options and local fare including Penn Cove muscles. Also, you will enjoy the many art galleries throughout the island and antique shopping aplenty!

The space
The master bedroom and guest room both have comfortable queen beds, and the kids' room has two separate twin beds, with a pull-out trundle under one bed, as well as a pack-n-play for little ones. The kids' room has lots of unique features just for their enjoyment--perhaps they won't want to leave their room so you can be left in peace!

The 3 bedrooms are all on the second floor. The tall ceilings mean that the staircase is longer and steeper than typical. The only shower/bathtub is in the master bedroom, which can be inconvenient for larger groups. The half-bath is downstairs and also houses the laundry.

Please note: There are inherent dangers of children being children. Our insurance company asks us to remind guests that mixing life and children can cause injury. Heartsease Properties, LLC, cannot be held responsible for any (mis)use of the furniture or features. Furthermore, Heartsease is not to be held responsible for shenanigans, including but not limited to:
*scaling the cabin walls because they are made of logs
*crawling through the captains beds underspaces
*climbing the big cedar tree and getting sap all over hands and clothes
*sleeping in the bear den (kids love it but always wake up cranky)
*walking on the deck railings (which is absolutely forbidden as it is likely to do permanent damage to the railings, though only temporary damage to the child)

Guest access
Guests will have access to all rooms (kitchen, living room, baths, bedrooms) as well as one storage shed where some toys and tools are stored. There is another outbuilding with miscellaneous building materials that will remain inaccessible to guests, unless you are volunteering to clean the gutters, hang up holiday lights, and wash the deck.

Other things to note
We have excellent neighbors and want to maintain good standing in the neighborhood by renting only to guests who are respectful of people and property. We have asked our neighbors to call me about groups that are unusually loud, exceed the allowed number of guests, light fires during burn bans, bring pets, or in any way create disturbances in the neighborhood. Excessive noise complaints will also be directed to the non-emergency police.

In the event of a power outage, there is no water or gas heat. Full stop. Extra water is kept on the premises and will last a few days. The neighborhood is on well water, and has new and updated filters at the source. The cabin is equipped with flashlights and there is a propane heater in the log shed. Outages on the island occur more frequently and last longer than on the mainland, and they will only happen when the cabin is booked by guests....I promise.

Please note, there is no dishwasher. We are all sad about that but maybe 2025 is the year I get to update the kitchen.

20% discount for week-long rentals and stays are limited to two weeks (it takes work away from those who clean and care for the property).

A 136 sq. ft. tiny house (cabin) on 6 acres along with the main house 1000 ft. to the north. Very private. Very yesteryear. You may encounter a spot of dust on a rough cut post or notice the patina (chipped paint) on one of the 100 year old windows, (it's a cabin) however all food and personal hygiene areas are professionally cleaned. About the ladder to the loft, I'm 6'4", and pushing 70, I have no problem, if you have physical limitations, it may be something to think about.

The space
Little hidden gems around the property add whimsy and an artistic touch. This cozy little home and everything around it has had time to grow and mature. It has a very authentic feel to it.
The water from our well is very good and fine for drinking no need to buy water.
There is a small country grocery store The Prarie Center in Coupeville that has great meat veggies and fruits. Their prices are better than the Red Apple in Clinton, and the Payless (paymore we call it lol) in Freeland).
Our island also still has a drive-in theater in Oak Harbor that also has go karts, and an arcade for your enjoyment.
This is a very animal friendly place. We have 6 dogs, 3 cats, 2 goats, a pet pig, 2 free range chickens, 2 super sweet donkeys, and 1 horses.
That's our animal family.
We do offer you the opportunity to spend hands on time, grooming, leading, or just time visiting with our critters just ask if you’d like to get up close and personal with them.
You can feel free to wander the property. There are many trails and parks on the island to visit and go hiking in.
Coupeville is only 6 miles north of us and has many restaurants and little shops. There is also a spa & salon should you want a bit of pampering.
We do live close to a Navy practice airfield so it can get loud with jet noise as they pass over. If you have booked a week day stay please bring ear plugs. They only fly during the week but not regularly. Their schedule you can find if you google ”Jets on Whidbey” you’ll want to see the schedule for “OLF” ( outlying airfield). The jets never on the weekends.

Guests enjoy a private 136 square foot rustic cabin, including a full size bed loft (access by ladder), kitchenette with gas stove top & oven a small refrigerator, dishes, utensils, and 3/4 bathroom. Outside there's a barbecue, fire pit.
We have Wi-Fi, and the cell service is good in this area in case you really need to check that phone. The loft has a Wi-Fi and a smart tv and Netflix for your entertainment enjoyment.

Other things to note
We do like to inform our guests of a few things. One of the biggest is, we live near the Naval Air Station Whidbey's Outlying Field, aka:
NAS Whidbey OLF Whidbey.
It's the touch n go airfield. The pilots are practicing dropping the plane to catch the hook on the aircraft carrier's. Some of our guests enjoy watching from their cars. That means a possibility of hearing Jet noise during your weekday stay. They NEVER fly on weekends (or schedule week day, evening, and night flights.
You can google the NAS Whidbey OLF practice schedule, to see if they will be flying during your stay, they post their flights on thursday, or friday's for the up coming week.
Occasionally they are scheduled to fly, and don't fly for whatever reason.
We encourage bringing earplugs.
For those of you who are bringing your pet(s), that we do charge a $40 pet fee that is paid directly to us. That fee does not go through Airbnb.

The space
Saratoga Lodge

Open and airy in the summertime and cozy and inviting come winter, this highbank waterfront home on Whidbey Island features an unforgettable view of Saratoga Passage. This is a place to savor the quiet atmosphere, look for orca spouts and bald eagles from the deck, and enjoy walks on the beach via the Baby Island Beach Club entrance.

This two-story home sits near Rocky Point seven miles northwest of Langley, on a lovely piece of waterfront property with a grassy lawn and a spacious deck - a wonderful spot to barbecue and dine with a commanding view of the passage.

The interior is a showcase of the same vistas, not to mention lofty ceilings, exposed beams, and details of natural wood. The main living space is on the first floor, where you can sip your morning coffee in the window seat and cap each evening with a movie by the wood-burning stove. Fill the in-between hours in the well-appointed kitchen with stainless steel appliances, an island with a gas cooktop, and a window-lined dining space for six.

At night, leave the day's clothes in the care of the washer/dryer, retreat upstairs to the loft workspace to log onto the WiFi, or sweat out any lingering stress in the primary suite's private sauna. This bedroom also offers its own balcony with a beautiful water view.

A charming Whidbey Island cabin nestled in the woodland of a 10-acre family farm in Clinton. An idyllic countryside setting for connecting with nature in a nourishing farm setting while on a personal retreat, enjoying a romantic getaway or relaxing after your recreational adventures.

The space
A 500 sq ft artistic cabin located on south Whidbey Island 8 minute drive from the Clinton ferry, 12 minutes from the quaint, seaside town of Langley and just a few minutes from Maxwelton Beach.  

Enjoy visiting a flock of sheep and an affectionate Great Pyrenees farm dog.  Resident farm cats also share the outdoor space. Presence of free-range chickens and ducks vary. Meander through gardens and pastures to a small pond and sit a spell on the swinging bench. Peace and space abound! You are welcome to harvest orchard fruits and berries as the season offers.

*PLEASE NOTE THE CABIN IS BEST SUITED FOR AGILE, SURE-FOOTED guests due to the short forested trail from the parking area, entry stairs, claw foot tub and uneven farm grounds.

Kitchenette includes a large copper sink, gas stovetop/oven, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, drip coffee maker, French press, coffee grinder, toaster and all basic pots/pans/cooking supplies. Bathroom includes a claw foot tub/shower with French doors opening to the forest. And a heated toilet seat for added luxury! Wood is provided for the delightful wood-burning stove. 1 queen bed is located on the main floor bedroom (note: against a wall if sharing). The loft space above bedroom offers a peaceful meditative space with vaulted wood ceiling, collection of books, a chaise lounge, chair and desk.  Enjoy a territorial landscape from the small private covered deck. A guidebook in the cabin will include local favorites of the hosting family.

This countryside setting is serene with no busy roads in the vicinity though you may hear individual cars coming/going or farm equipment with daily family farm life.

Wi-fi works well for typical uses including internet access and streaming music/movies on your device. Welcome to The Hidden Haven! Our fabulous 2 Bed/2 Bath A-Frame retreat sleeps 4 comfortably. It is the perfect place to unwind! Stocked KITCHEN w/ breakfast bar for 2. DINING area Seats 4 (can seat up to 8 w/advance notice.) LIVING area w/wood burning stove. QUEEN BEDROOM/LOFT w/small bathroom and BUNK BEDROOM with nearby downstairs bathroom that was just remodeled. DECK w/seating for 8 when weather allows and a year-round BBQ.

The space
The HIDDEN HAVEN makes for a wonderful retreat and is constantly undergoing upgrades and improvements! Cork flooring and a gorgeous new bathroom are two recent upgrades that we love.

The KITCHEN underwent a complete remodel in the summer of 2016. Owned by someone who loves to cook, you will find it is fully stocked with everything you need to make and serve a delicious meal. The kitchen is open to the living and dining areas so you will never feel like you're stuck cooking while everyone else is having fun. The breakfast bar seats two.

The DINING area is set for four, but (with advance notice) can accommodate your dinner guests with an extension that allows seating for up to eight. Placemats and tablecloths are available for your use and there are plenty of dishes, silverware, wine glasses, and candles to set a gorgeous table.

The LIVING ROOM has plenty of seating, warm lighting, and fuzzy throws. It's a great place to gather. The wood stove keeps it cozy even on the coldest of nights. Firewood is available for your use. Please note: there is no TV, but there are games, books, bluetooth speaker, etc. to keep you entertained (and high speed wi-fi if you need to work or stream a good movie!)

The MASTER BEDROOM is in the loft. The views from the bed make you feel like you're waking up in a tree house. While open to the living room below, it provides quite a bit of privacy due to the structural design. It has a Queen-sized bed with good linens that will provide a super night of rest. Drawer storage and space to hang your clothes is abundant. The loft is served by it's own small bathroom w/shower.

The DOWNSTAIRS BEDROOM contains Twin L-shaped bunk-beds with good linens and sleeps two very comfortably. Beach chairs/towels, extra duvets, games, kids books, Lego and room for your things can be found in the large closet. Down the same hallway on the ground level, you will find the larger bathroom that was just remodeled with a spa style shower.

The DECK is a great place to hang out when the sun is shining. It's the perfect spot to relax while you enjoy your morning tea/coffee. The patio table can seat up to eight when the weather is right for a meal outdoors. The BBQ is available for use year round. Deer frequent the yard which feels worlds away from the rest of the world because the yard is surrounded by trees. Blackberries can often be found ready for picking all along the far side of the driveway.

The LOCATION is a 10-15 minute drive from the Clinton Ferry, 15-20 minutes to Downtown Langley (the Whidbey Transit bus stops in front of the house), just 1.5 miles to Maxwelton Beach, and generally no more than 20 minutes to nearly everything South Whidbey has to offer.

Guest access
This is a stand alone A-frame cabin home on a 7,500 square foot lot (in a neighborhood of homes occupied mostly by full-time residents) and you will have it all to yourself during your stay. It's enclosed by a wall of trees and feels very private even though there are adjacent lots of similar size, most with homes occupied by permanent residents.

Come to Whidbey Island and relax in this completely remodeled 'Cabin' with an extraordinary view of the harbor, city and mountains! Close enough to town to enjoy all the conveniences of shopping, restaurants, etc. but feels isolated to enjoy the peace and quiet for your island getaway! Get ready to relax in the hot tub and then enjoy a nice fire in the fire pit on the patio!

The space
The Cabin is a 3 bedroom 2 bath home with a patio and hot tub. The views are amazing of Mt. Baker, the harbor and the city lights at night! It’s a home situated on a private drive lined with fir trees so it feels as if you’re in the mountains! There is plenty of parking right in front of The Cabin (up to the planters that are on the driveway). Also on the property (but not accessible to guests) are a shop with a gravel drive leading to it and the area behind the shop used for storing building supplies and other items which could be dangerous and that is why guests are asked to please avoid this area. The cabin itself, parking area, back deck, front porch area and hot tub should be plenty of space to spread out, relax and enjoy your time at The Cabin!

* Kitchen: Full kitchen with electric cooktop, wall oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, blender, toaster, tea kettle, dishware, glassware, pots and pans... pretty much anything you might need to prepare and serve meals!

* Dining: The table is set with 4 chairs and there are extra chairs in the kitchen area, one in bedroom #2 and folding chairs in the entry closet.

* Living Room: 50" smart TV, queen sleeper sofa (comfortable!), 2 swivel rockers to enjoy the view or watch TV, electric fireplace, cards and games. The bedding for the sleeper sofa is in the closet off the entry.

* Wifi: High speed.

* Master Bedroom: Queen bed, large dresser, small dresser, 2 large closets, ironing board and iron, extra pillows and blankets, sofa at the view window!

* Bedroom #2: Queen bed, chest of drawers, closet (where the router is).

* Bedroom #3: The "Bunk Room" has a twin bunk bed with a trundle that pulls out from under the bottom bunk. These are designed for kids or small adults. The closet area has hangers and drawers below plus shelves. Extra blankets, comforters and pillows.

* Deck/patio: Hot tub! Fire Pit! Adirondack chairs, table and chairs for meals! Also an excellent place to view the deer, bunnies and squirrels!

* Activities *
Deception Pass Bridge (one of the most photographed!) and the surrounding area is a must to explore!

PBY Museum is really well done with the history of Oak Harbor AND there is a plane to see in real life!

Fort Ebey and Fort Casey (from WW2) are just a short drive away.

Historic Coupeville (the oldest city is Washington) is just 10 miles south.

Anacortes, on Fidalgo Island is fun to explore.

Port Townsend (on the Olympic Peninsula is a fun ferry ride (reservations are recommended for that ferry unless you walk on).

The Cabin, front porch, designated parking area, back deck and hot tub is completely yours for your entire stay! There is a ramp for wheelchair access leading to the back deck which accesses the house through a set of French doors making it great for those with limited mobility.

Other things to note
We live in a Naval Air Station community so occasionally the jets fly overhead. The normal flight pattern is wider around the city but sometimes they fly over which is very cool to watch!

Walk nearby Double Bluff Beach, Penn Cove Brewery, Earth Sanctuary with large stone circle, giant cedar trail at South Whidbey State Park, short drive to best hike on the island: Ebey's Landing. if you are staying with us during the winter, please do note that we are a remote rural Island, and occasionally power outages do occur. These are usually resolved with a return of electricity in a few hours. However, the source of heat during an electrical outage is the wood-burning stove, and it would help if one were familiar with building a fire in a wood stove (we have fire starters). We also have a gas camping stove for cooking, a small propane stove for heating, and battery lanterns and kerosene lamps. Please also be aware that all water sports, including swimming, wading, and all beach and water activities are at your own risk. Water conditions on any body of water, including this harbor, can change rapidly, especially in winter months. Even if the water appears calm, be aware that winds can alter and currents and tides can change rapidly. Please consult Whidbey tide charts and weather apps before beginning any outdoor activities, and children should never be allowed in water unsupervised.

The space
The Cabin home is two floors. The main floor boast the beautiful living room, dining area, kitchen, utility room, bathroom, and closet space holding 2 foldable twin size beds for guest use. The upper floor holds the bathroom and 2 bedrooms. One bedroom with a queen size bed and the other with a king size bed.

The front and backyard is incredible! Both furnished with outdoor patio sets, dining set, wood burning and propane firepit. There is also a BBQ grill available for the guests.

Best of all, the cabin nest itself in the Scatchet Head neighborhood, surrounded by the evergreens and nature. It's only a 3 minute car ride or a 20-25 minutes walk to the Scatchet Head Beach Club. The peaceful seclusion is only enhanced by the proximity to the ferry, making it an ideal getaway for those looking to escape the city yet remain conveniently close to transportation links.

Whidbey Island experiences windstorms that sometimes cause a power outage, depending on the severity of the storm, most often it's restored in less than 24 hours.

Tucked in the woods on the south end of Whidbey Island, Cedar Cabin offers a serene getaway. This is a perfect space for a solo retreat, a romantic weekend or a cozy family vacation. The last property on a quarter mile gravel road, the cabin is fully surrounded by a mixture of open areas to soak in the sun and woods with trails to wander. From the sauna and cold plunge, to quiet nights by the bonfire, to cozying up with the wood burning stove, there is ample opportunity here to rest and restore.

The space
The cozy Cedar Cabin is two stories with plenty of windows for natural light. The main floor has a living room with books, games and puzzles perfect for snuggling up with alongside the wood burning stove. There is also a dining table that can seat up to 6 people, a kitchen with an island and stools, a mud room and pantry. The bathroom has a tub perfect for long soaks while taking in the view of cedar trees and huckleberry bushes. (Please note that the only shower is a cedar outdoor shower with hot water.)

The second floor has an open bedroom with a queen sized bed, a writing desk, closet space, dresser and a chair that converts into a twin bed. There is also a travel crib, baby gate and highchair available for use.

The writing desk as well as a kid-sized roll top desk are stocked with writing and art supplies for when inspiration hits.

The front deck has a table that can seat up to 6 people and overlooks the orchard south of the cabin. Depending on the time of year, there may be fresh apples, cherries, plums or pears ready to be picked.

The back deck has two chairs and a hammock that overlooks the fully fenced in yard, sauna, cold plunge and outdoor shower. The surrounding garden may also be bursting with raspberries, blueberries and strawberries depending on the time of year. The sauna comfortably fits 4 people (and a few more for those willing to squeeze in).

Just north of the cabin are trails for wandering in the forest. In the spring, you'll find plenty of salmonberries and huckleberries to snack on. For those up for braving the woods in the dark, laser tag is available for use.

Please note that there is a private residence on the west side of the property. Airbnb guests have a separate and private driveway to get to the cabin, as well as private access to the cabin, fenced in yard with sauna and orchard. The trails in the woods are shared with the renters of the private residence.

The 900 sq foot rustic cabin is bright and airy, with water views from every room (except the bathroom), cedar ceilings, and new lighting and a ceiling fan in the living room that keep it cheery year-round, even on stormy days.

NEW! AC for 2025. Two efficient AC window units now added during peak months to each bedroom (total count of #2) for those few warm summer days, though usually opening the windows to capture the ocean breeze are enough to cool off.

The new updated kitchen packs in all the creature comforts of home with stainless appliances and even a small dishwasher.

Heating has been updated with baseboard electric heat and is cozy year-round.

Each day brings beautiful views of ships, birds and sometimes seals and otters, and occasionally whales playing in the water, and of the snowy peaks of the Olympic Mountains rising in the distance across the waters of Admiralty Inlet. To the east, watch the sun rise over the Swantown Lake Wildlife Refuge. Every window has a view of the water, but the Living Room is west facing to capture the warmth of the afternoon sun on a large private deck in fair weather, or inspire romance watching storm-churned waves while comfortably seated inside.

Evenings can be spent curled up with a book on super comfy new living furniture, playing games and doing puzzles with friends and family, or watching a movie. Use the grill on the deck (available seasonally) and end the evening with a camp fire in our outdoor fire pit (wood is usually available.) Or, you may prefer an evening out with great dining options in Coupeville, Oak Harbor and beyond.

The house sleeps up to 4 comfortably, with up to 5 by approval (and an extra fee). There is a pillow-top Queen Bed in the Master, and two twins in the second bedroom. The twins can be pushed together with added bedding to "make a king bed". There is a sleeper sofa is in the Living Room with added foam topper. We even provide a portable crib and bedding for infants.

Action seekers may launch their own kayaks and paddle boards to test their skills on the exposed beaches of Whidbey Island's west shore, or make the ten minute trip to launch in world famous Penn Cove for a quieter, more relaxing experience. Take the opportunity to explore the hiking at Ebey's Landing, and bike the trails of "The Kettles" exploring a landscape scoured by glaciers thousands of years ago.

Sunset Beach Haven has been updated since 2012 with new finishes, appliances, dishes, cookware, and furnishings. Wiring, and plumbing have also been updated and insulation has been added as well. New radiant heaters keep the house comfortable, even in the winter storms. New ceiling fan in the LR adds comfort along with NEW seasonal window AC units in the bedrooms.

The historic waterfront town of Coupeville, can be reached in about ten minutes by car. Enjoy a "Practical Magic" walking tour, wine tasting, or try fresh Penn Cove mussels at any of several great restaurants.

Oak Harbor, to the east, is even closer for major shopping amenities and restaurants. Deception Pass Bridge and State Park are about 15 minutes north. To the south lies Fort Ebey, Fort Casey, Ebey's Landing and the nearby Coupeville Ferry with service to historic Port Townsend. Greenbank Winery, antiques shops, galleries, and the town of Langley are further afield.

This A-frame cabin is perfect for relaxing getaways, with enough room for larger groups with family and friends, or a quiet and cozy retreat for those looking to unwind.

Nestled in the woods, this secluded property overlooks a private pond, as well as Goss Lake, and features views of the woods from every window. Whether you're staying on Whidbey Island to attend a special event, or just looking for a tranquil getaway, the A-frame at Goss Lake is a perfect destination.

Sleeping up to 12 guests comfortably (with room for 2 additional guests if needed), this house is ideal for groups. With 7 brand new memory foam beds and a pullout queen sofa, your entire party will get a great night sleep.

We love to cook, and hey- food brings people together! With two full kitchens, you'll be set to cook up a storm, host your own iron chef party, or have plenty of dishware (and dishwashers) to enjoy takeout meals from the local restaurants. We usually like to cook in the upstairs kitchen, and have drinks and snacks spread out in the downstairs kitchen, but you can create your own culinary journey as you see fit! The downstairs kitchen also has cocktail mixing supplies for getting to where you're going. There's a propane grill on the large deck as well, for those who love to put meat (or veg) to heat.

Love to be cozy? Oh my gosh, so do we. A wood stove in the main living area makes for wonderful evening fires on those chilly nights, and an outdoor fire pit just steps from the private pond creates the perfect atmosphere for camp vibes with water and tree views by the warmth of the fire.

There is so much to do on Whidbey Island. This house is ~15-20 minutes from several charming towns (Langley, Freeland, Greenbank), each with quaint shops, restaurants, views and sights. But if you're anything like us, staying-in can be just as enjoyable as getting out. We've furnished the basement as a movie/rec room, with a 65" Samsung smart TV (equipped with all the smart apps), and a full size ping pong table. We've also stocked a range of board and card games, and puzzles for fun of all shapes and sizes.

Love to swim, or sit out by the water? Goss Lake is a community-run lake that is great for swimming, kayaking/canoeing, fishing, and more. Public lake access is available to all guests, and can be reached by a short walk or even shorter drive from the house.

For those with young kids, we've appointed the house with a full sized crib (in the primary bedroom closet), pack-n-play (in the basement closet), and a diaper changing station available at no extra charge. We have a little one, and know how important it is for the basics to be in place for keeping the little ones (and ourselves) happy. Sheets for the crib and pack-n-play are available for your use as well.

The entire house and 1.4 acre property is available to our guests. This includes the house, car port, yard in front of the house, private pond, and fire pit.

Our property line ends at the wood's edge to the east and south, the driveway to the west, and the road to the north.

Please note: the driveway is shared with our neighbors, who occasionally camp on their property. They've always been respectful and keep to themselves, but you may notice camping gear just off to the side of the top of the driveway.

Getting here:
- If you're coming from Seattle, we recommend taking the ferry (from Mukilteo to Clinton). The ferry is easy to take (you can walk or drive on), costs ~$10 each way, and offers beautiful views of the Puget Sound. Once the ferry lands in Clinton, you're only a ~20m drive away.
- If you're coming from the North, or don't mind a slightly longer drive, taking the bridge at Deception Pass is a beautiful drive, and offers breathtaking views of one of the most iconic and frequently photographed regions in Washington.

Cell reception may vary by carrier (and you may not have coverage at the house). This is just one of those things on Whidbey Island... Thankfully, all wifi-based communication services should work perfectly when at the house.

At the end of a small lane, this house is a time capsule from the past. The sandy beach is full of driftwood and a gorgeous view of the cascade mountains. At lower tide, you can walk for miles, see wildlife and enjoy the beautiful pacific nw at its best. The house is masterfully and artistically designed - special touches make it feel like a beach cabin from the 1950s with a bit of luxury. Just north of the Clinton-Mukilteo ferry, you can walk on the ferry to make for an easy city getaway!

Boasting new furniture, this 2400 square foot retreat with an additional 1500 square foot deck also features 180-degree views of Puget Sound from the living room through large windows that invite the beauty of the outdoors in. Embark on a culinary adventure in a fully-equipped, retro 60’s kitchen before gathering around the 8-person dining table, puzzle table, or wood-burning fireplace. As you gaze toward the ocean, you may even spot whales or other wildlife in the distance!

The second living space, fondly known as the Tiki Lounge, is where the fun never ends. Sip on your favorite drinks from the small wet bar, challenge your friends to a friendly game of pool, and unleash your inner pinball wizard on our vintage pinball machine. For those cozy evenings in, kick back in the lounge area with a large TV, or gather around the tall game table for some good old-fashioned board games. We even have bunks for those extra guests who want to join in on the fun.

Outside, you'll find yourself enchanted by the endless stretch of beach just waiting to be explored. Gather around one of our two gas fire-tables, where you can watch majestic ships sail by and witness breathtaking sunrises and peekaboo sunsets over the Pacific Northwest mountains. We now have an expansive deck with a large, covered area that includes a fire table with lots of seating, along with a dining table that seats 8. There is also plenty of other seating around our large lot to enjoy a variety of games like corn-hole, bocce ball, and red-neck golf (all kept in the breezeway shed). Beach access is available using our new stairs. Alternatively, you can access the beach at the end of the street. Keep your eyes peeled, as this stretch of Saratoga Passage is a favorite haunt of whales and seabirds, thanks to the abundance of sand shrimp (though this does create some soft beach areas). If you're an outdoor enthusiast, you're in luck—Angels Landing is less than a mile away from Saratoga woods hiking trails and numerous outdoor activities.

Two of them boast new king mattresses, ensuring you'll wake up feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day. The main primary suite is a true oasis with its own sitting area and a bathroom featuring a super-size tub (no shower). The second master bedroom comes with an adjoining bathroom complete with a shower. For those who prefer the allure of the Tiki Lounge, the third bedroom offers a cozy queen bed (just a heads up, the ceiling here is open, giving it a unique touch). And if you need more sleeping space, the game room's bunk beds and a third full bathroom in the hallway have got you covered. But remember, due to our septic system, we can accommodate a maximum of 8 guests, regardless of age.

- This home is in a peaceful neighborhood with many neighbors living here full-time and we appreciate the respect and kindness of our renters.
- Please note that infants are considered part of the total guest count under HOA rules.
- This home is not specifically ADA but is a rambler and we have added a ramp to the front door and grab bars in both showers for safety.
- Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in this home. If undisclosed pets are brought into the home without AvantStay's approval there is a fine of $500 per pet.
- Beach access directly from the property is seasonal. During winter, spring, and part of fall, a locked gate is in place to prevent high tide damage. However, guests can still enjoy the beach via a community access point just a short walk down the street.
- Please note: Per the Navy’s scheduling, there may be flyovers near this home, which can be very loud. Schedules are typically posted one week in advance and can be found online.
