The bedroom is upstairs with a beautiful timber federation style queen bed. The large dormer window frames one of the most beautiful views of the valley looking out as far as Cape Paton. You don't even have to get out of bed to enjoy the view. Downstairs are all your amenities, bathroom with a spa-bath and separate shower. Full kitchen with all your cooking needs provided for including microwave. stove top and oven.
Wood fire,(all wood supplied) TV, DVD player, IPOD docking station. Spacious verandah with outdoor furniture and garden. We have a magnificent variety of bird life that will drop by now and again while your sitting on the deck taking in the views and listening to the sounds of the sea.

MY PROPERTY is Located in the traditional part of Torquay, called "Old Torquay " this is an old but sweet traditional, very retro Holiday Unit in a lovely location and bonus is PETS are allowed as long as you notify me in booking and asure my pet rules are followed.

This was one of the FIRST set of units built in Torquay in 1950 , so it's quite an antique !!!
Close to both the MAIN and SURF beaches, cafes , shops, and Torquay pub. On Sundays you can even hear the relaxing funky music from Torquay pub
I have a MIN 2 night stay , 3 or 4 Night at Easter and 5/7 nights Xmas period .

My belief is its better to explain more than less and be as honest as i can with my description below . The bond amount allocated on property will only be collected AFTER checkout IF a need or major problem .

THE SPACE
The property itself is NOT modern , it is more an old Gem, very old school .
Basic no frills, a little antique, and a step back in time .
If you PREFER new modern with just a touch of simple furniture then this may not suit you as my place is more a home away from home.

There are many gorgeous modern built/ renovated places / hotels in torquay you can also choose, so I'd rather you be happy and look around rather than rate me low stars because you didn't read my very honest description of knowing its an old traditional place or look through pictures. But If your happy for imperfection I would love you to book and enjoy its charm.

It's full of homely useful goodies as per description .I would describe it as .... "it has more than less " yet very clean and tidy INSIDE.

SORRY no WiFi on property.
Not disabled friendly as it has 3 steps at front , 2 step at back .

Please consider that an old building with its wallpaper, 1950's old cupboards etc...V's clean is very different.
The pictures of inside are exactly how it is set up and will look as you walk in , though it's hard to show " old " so please don't expect perfection and you won't be disappointed.
My wooden floors have had a good dose of summer love n fun !!

I supply most things a home would have including linen and towels and a few little things on welcome for your first night , such as tea ,coffee sugar, butter, long life milk, juice water, sweet treats , tissues and toilet paper .Along with shampoo , body wash , hand wash ,tooth brush, paste,shower caps and shavers if you by chance forget yours .
There is washing powder, tea towels ,bath mat ,beach towels, bath towels, Linen , doonas, blankets etc..

It has 2 bedrooms and sleeps 4 comfortably depending on your sleeping configuration.
One room has Double bed , one room has 2 single beds.
All beds have electric blankets on for winter MONTHS ONLY, they are removed in Summer.

One room has a double bed with a KOALA brand mattress , 2nd bedroom has 2x single beds (you could move them together if you prefer to sleep closer)
For bubs i have a HIGH CHAIR booster seat , can be attached to chair or sit on floor, and a PORTA COT with linen (these all under double bed) perfect for small family stays.

Is child friendly, but not child proof or child safe as I DO NOT have child locks on any utilities or cupboards for active toddles.
All rooms have large ceiling fans (used with remote, in each room on wall )

The 2nd bedroom also has a TV which plays dvds only as NO antenna PLUS has an old time VIDEO player with LOADS of classic kids videos ( great for kids quiet time , after long day at beach and play )

There is a CD/radio player , board games , toys, doll house in cupboard , cards ,colouring books, puzzle books for all ages as well as books to read . There are boogie boards (please replace boogie boards if lost or broken ) and lots of out door beach and ball games( under single bed) beach toys in bin outside .

It has a cosy lounge room with open kitchen which is a little old fashioned RE the 1950's cupboards and the kitchen has all things like home plus microwave and washing machine .

Bathroom is not large , has small Shower and an old fashioned large Laundry tub , rather than a small vanity, which we prefer as its a great size for washing out swimmers and wet suits so hence have left as laundry tub style rather than a modern small vanity basin !!
Has small separate toilet .

Has small cute closed in safe back yard, family child and pet friendly and large open front garden area ( pictures are showing yard so you can assess re pets , please DONT FORGET to inform me re pets ?? )

Doona's , pillows and extra blankets are supplied, tea towels and a bath mat , bath and beach towels and linen , BUT feel FREE to bring your own Linen and towels if you prefer( mine can be folded n left in cupboard)

I am happy to have inside but PLEASE remove my furniture throws and ANY blankets to avoid hair on and bring own .
Pets are ideally NOT allowed up on furniture or sleeping on my throws ,and definitely not allowed in/ on beds for sleeping ...and the property must be extra cleaned PLEASE and all pet hair removed from floors, , furniture tops , rugs , cushions etc..I have a vacume in cupboard to use for this .
If you know your pet does sneak up on furniture PLEASE bring own throws to cover . Or sneaks up on bed at night while you sleep PLEASE bring and use your OWN Linen , Doona , doona cover, blankets , throws etc instead of mine. Please clean garden area of droppings , and if holes dug PLEASE fix !! thankyou in advance.

CLEANING
I DO NOT add on an extra cleaning fee or pet fee , saving you this added cost so all i request is that you leave as CLEAN neat and tidy as it was when you arrived... A a simple 15/ 20 min should do it nicely .
If not then a $120 clean fee( and $80 pet fee) will be charged .

Arrival time generally 2pm and check out time about 11 am . I will always offer early check in and late check out when I can complimentary.

No SCHOOLIES, NO PARTIES and please inform me re PETS if you bring.

CARE and HOUSE friendly RULES
All i ask is that you Please look after property and furniture and leave the house tidy, neat and cleaned, especially re pets therefore left exactly as it was when you arrived .
Lost or damaged Linen/ towels will be under bond claim .
Make sure all taps turned off TIGHT and lights off, fans off , heater/air con off .
Electric blankets OFF.
Smoking , please do out side ONLY and dispose of.

PLEASE be considerate of others with noise as there is 6 units on block . If boogie boards lost or broken if you could replace for next guest, that be greatly appreciated , or let me know so i can replace and deduct from bond, If any concerns or problems arise please feel free to message me.

Car parking is on side of property only and enough room for 2 cars . No extra guest with camper vans allowed.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD, overview

Torquay is just a gorgeous place for a relaxing weekend or short Holiday , its extremely peaceful and a really nice vibe , lots of shops and cafes to stroll to in all directions .. the main Torquay beach is at the end of street and the surf beach is a walk over and opposite. Everything is in walking distance which makes the location so good, and a lovely quiet peaceful street , plus not far from the famous Bells Beach or take a nice drive along the Great Ocean Rd to Lorne and further. There are Golf courses, Horse Ridding , pet friendly beach.

We are from inner city Melbourne . We bought this property years ago as a getaway ,we couldn't afford much or a beautiful modern place and we thought this was just SO cute and unusual , great location and just perfect for us to relax and not worry that is was not perfect inside and bonus was it would be great for pets to stay .
We love the beach ,my son loves to surf ,our dog loves to swim !!

COTTAGE - Willowbank Cottage is 1 bedroom, two story cottage located on a quiet dead end lane. From our deck you can look directly across the street into the bush where the Otway National Park begins. Upstairs in the bedroom, you can look out the windows and feel like you are in the tree tops. Our property (where we reside) is approximately 11/2 acres. The cottage is built mainly of recycled material that we have collected over the years from house demolitions in Lorne.
The cottage consist of a fully equipped kitchen/lounge area with wood fire heater and gas heater. Bathroom (on main floor) consists of a shower/sink/washing machine and a separate toilet . Our dog 'off leash area' is a combined deck/grass area which is enclosed with a 1.2 meter high fence.
If you decide to book, please note we don't supply bath/beach towels/personal/shower toiletries. We supply bed linen and everything for cleaning up in the kitchen. Our cottage is not 'high tech' (no internet) but you will have a relaxing time getting away from it all.

Directions

Drive into the middle of town and turn right in to Williams St. off the Great Ocean Road also called Mt. Joy Parade. Driving up the hill on Williams Street, take your 3rd major left where you will see a blue sign saying Cherry Tree Ck. cottage. After you take this left, drive only about 60 feet and take your 1st right-this is Babingtion Lane a 'no through road'.. Drive slowly down this small section of road.. Willowbank is 4th residence on the left from the corner house and is a red trim weatherboard cottage just before the willow tree.

DOG RULES: Dogs are allowed inside, but not left inside alone if you go out. They must either go with you or left in the designated dog yard. No dogs on furniture or beds! . All dogs must be taken for a ''toilet' walk before they come into the house after their ride to Lorne. Doggie poos are to be bagged and thrown in the garbage bin provided outside. Please bring doggie stuff: beds, old towels to wipe them off. There is a hose out the front of the cottage to hose your dog down if need be.

There’s also over an acre of lawn to play outside if you bring a football or cricket set, or just relax for a family picnic.

We're pet friendly!
Bring your furry friend for just $30 per stay, with a maximum of 2 pets per cottage. We just ask that pets are not left unsupervised and that they don’t enter the bedrooms or go on the couches.
There is no fence around the dam or the cottages themselves, and we have a farming style fence around the property, which won't keep pets in. So, if your pet tends to roam, there are plenty of trees around each cottage that you could tie up your dog while outside if that suits.

Long summer stays
Each cottage is fully self-contained with all the essentials for a long summer stay full of trips to the beach. Each cottage has a washing machine, detergent and outdoor clothesline and portable clothes airer, and plenty of space outside to stash your bike or surfboard.

Cosy winter getaways
Nothing is cosier than a wood fireplace. Each cottage has an indoor fireplace with all firewood, kindling and firelighters provided. The split system air-conditioning can also run reverse cycle to heat up the cottage, and plenty of extra blankets are provided. There’s even tea, coffee (Nespresso machine) and hot chocolate and a little milk to warm you up with a hot cuppa.

Guest Access
You will have access to your own cottage with its own outdoor entertaining and BBQ area. There are 2 car spaces next to each cottage, with additional shared car spaces on the gravel near the front of the property.

We offer convenient self-check-in and one key is provided, but let us know if you would like a second key. The entire cottage is at ground level, and there is one step at the entry to the cottage.
Guests have full access to the large lawn area in front of the dam, which is perfect for picnics, yoga, ball games, or just relaxing with a book.
For the safety of other guests, we ask that vehicles don’t park or drive across the grass, and that driving is kept to a walking pace.

Local activities
You can go hiking or mountain biking along the naturally beautiful Surf Coast Walk, which passes only a kilometre from your cottage. Try surfing or watching the action at the world-famous surf breaks, like Bells Beach and Winkipop. Or if you prefer to indulge, there are plenty of gastronomic delights at local restaurants. You could stay a little longer and go day-tripping the trail of local artisan producers of wine, cheese, beer, spirits and of course, chocolate!

Original 1960's fibro small house, this 1 Bedroom property boasts an expansive view out across the ocean - see Wye Point from the wide 360 degree deck, chase the sun all year round. With gorgeous king parrots, rosellas, finches, wrens, magpies and (at times) kookaburras, sometimes a night owl perches on the wire or a Koala comes for the new gum leaves! This holiday home is a typical and well loved local beach style classic delightfully updated with soft furnishings inside for comfort.

The owners of the property have over 20 year experience running the successful Eco-Adventure company Southern Exposure. Southern Exposure runs surfing, Mt biking and kayaking programs for approx. 10,000 students per year. They also run the Run Forrest Trail Run in the Otway Ranges.
The owners can link you up with their property in Forrest (the heart of the Otway Mt Biking Trails) and put together a truly adventurous Great Ocean Road and Otway experience.

We’re also close to local dairies for beautiful artisan milk, cheeses and yoghurt.

You'll have access to Netflix and Stan. There's no free to air tv apart from via apps such as 7+ and IView etc.

MOSQUITOES
We are close to a rain forest and mosquitoes in the summer are just part of the landscape. There are mossie coils provided which will help out on the deck and fly wire on all the windows. You might encounter and fly or 2 and if they bother you there’s insect spray.

RUBBISH
There is no rubbish collection so we ask that you take all your rubbish and recycling and drop of off at the Waste Centre which you pass on your way down the hill. Details in house manual.

LEFT ITEMS
It’s up to guests to let me know if they have left an item behind. If I can locate it and it’s possible to post, I can do so at the guests expense, although this may take a few weeks. All items will be disposed of within a month of the stay if I haven’t been notified.

We use the cottage as our getaway too so there are some of our belongings in the cupboards. They’re tucked away so they won’t be a bother to you.

This is an "old" traditional 1950s Holiday Unit in old Torquay. It's PRIVATE S/C and all to yourself. This was one of the FIRST group of units built in Torquay in 1950 by a family on their property's garden so it's in its true traditional "old" condition, a bit of an antique and a step back in time. Perfection you won't find , quirky you sure will with 5 stars

The property itself is NOT modern , not renovated inside, more an old Gem .It's rustic, it's retro and an old classic style holiday house come "beach shack" for which we love and care for.
No frills, yet homely and a true step back in time .

It's PRIVATE all to yourself, very self-contained with Owner not on property, no sharing with others . It is very family and pet friendly ( with pet rules) or for friends to enjoy a beach getaway ... all you need to bring are your clothes .

If you don't have any reviews as a reference, then I would appreciate some personal information on yourself and guests. Share why your travelling , who's coming with you when booking, as it be great to know who is staying . If bringing a pet, please give me details on pet, breed , where it sleeps etc..

I do have a min 2 night stay with longer min at Xmas/ Easter. My calendar clearly shows available days as long as min. number is selected .
No Wi-Fi is on property, sorry as it's our getaway from city life.

LOCATION
Torquay is an easy, drivable, beachy destination .. the Geelong to Torquay bus stop is at the end of the street .
Is close walking distance to both the MAIN and SURF beaches.
The main beach is at the end of the street . Surf beach is sort of across rd and over past the caravan park.
It's close to various cafes in all directions, plus shops, Torquay Pub, Torquay Common, and local buses.
( I always try to give as much detail and accuracy as i can so you feel comfortable, hence the long description)

It is full of useful homely goodies as per description, tho some may prefer sparse and simple? but sorry, that's not us !!
Though old, it's clean and tidy inside, I even use the old time favourite Mr.Sheen on furniture

Please consider before you book that it's an old building from 1950 so has old walls with wallpaper and old original cupboards etc... but it does have modern new windows and doors ( fully renovated on the outside ). There are flyscreens on all windows and doors , and we do not refund stays due to creatures of mother nature.
so Please understand that flys and spiders are apart of the natural environment and being coastal tiny midgies will get through flyscreens, they are harmless and just after bright lights.

The pictures of the inside are exactly how it will look as you walk in . It's hard to show "old " without very close-up pics, but it has had its fair share of summertime fun on our wooden floorboards, a place where we have relaxed away from the city. (Suntan cream is a shocker re leaving stains on natural wood !! same with cooking oils food etc. )

If you PREFER new modern /renovated/ freshly painted or less homely goodies and furniture inside ? then there are many gorgeous stunning modern or renovated places or hotels in torquay that you may prefer, so I'd rather you be happy and look around rather than rate me 4 stars because you didn't look through pictures or read my very honest long description of knowing its an "old" rustic house that's not been fully renovated inside or perfect. If you don't expect perfection then I would just love you to book our little holiday gem.

I supply many little helpful things as a starter on welcome, such as tea ,coffee sugar, spreads, butter, long life milk, juice ,water, sweet n treats, tissues, toilet paper , shampoo , soap, washing powder, toothbrushes and paste ,even cotton buds ,shavers and shower caps. ( shops are not to far away ) Along with tea towels , bath mat , bath and beach towels ...etc..

There are doonas, pillows , blankets, and bed linen supplied, but you are more than welcome to bring your own .

FOR PETS COMING , i am happy to have inside, but NOT up on furniture or sleeping in or on my bed linen or on my doonas.
PLEASE remove my furniture throws and blankets to avoid hair on.
PLEASE bring own linen, doona, and throws/blankets, especially if you know pets tend to sneak up on bed or furniture at night while you're asleep ?? and SORRY to say BUT Please don't leave pets alone if you know they constantly bark, as neighbours will complain .
Please follow pet rules, especially removing all hair left on floor, bench tops and furniture ( when dogs have a shake, it sure does fly around )
I do not charge a pet stay or clean fee on booking

My linen/ towels are machine washed and dried in dryer, and I DONT add on an extra linen or clean fee for this either.

There is a PORTA COT for bubs if need and linen for this, plus a HIGH CHAIR booster seat that can be used on a chair or on floor ,... so no need to bring if a baby in the family . (All this is under double bed in main bedroom .)

Property has 2 bedrooms, sleeps 4 comfortably (depending on your sleep configuration ) both with robes
One room with a basic size double bed and great mattress... I have changed mattress numerous times over the years , as I can't seem to please everyone (sorry ) the one now is an Australian brand called KOALA .
The 2nd room has 2 basic single beds both with a dreamscape mattress.
Lounge and BOTH Bedrooms have large ceiling fans

The Tv has a built-in DVD player and lots of DVDs to choose for ALL ages.( No wifi no foxtel no netflix)
There is a CD/radio player , board games , playing cards, colouring books for kids, puzzle and crossword books for all ages, beach toys out side in a big black bucket, ball games ( under single bed, all ages ) doll house ( in wardrobe) little remote control cars and a few assorted toys for girls boys and bubs.
So a nice friendly variety to entertain, as well as books to read and a couple of boogie boards outside in large chest ( inside most toys are tucked under single bed or in robe )

The second bedroom with 2 single beds has its own TV ( but no ANTENNA ) that plays Cd's OR old fashioned VIDEOS ..I have LOADS of old videos on shelf , mainly KIDS ones , so its GREAT for quiet time for kids after a long day at beach n play to watch n relax .

It has a lounge /open kitchen . Aircon and heating ( split system ) is in this room on the wall and flows through to both bedrooms, which are opposite .
The kitchen is roomy, BUT yes, it is old-fashioned re its 1950s cupboards . Has electric stove, a fridge and has all things like home plus microwave and a washing machine for long stay if things need a wash.

The bathroom is small ( which can be seen from pictures ), has a shower and large laundry tub rather than a vanity style unit, and has a separate small toilet. The large laundry tub is old-fashioned but great for washing out wetsuits, that's why we love it and have left as is.

Has closed in private backyard with webber BBQ. with a big bin of beach toys , boogie boards , I have pet food bowels ( in a clear tub in the backyard under BBQ).
The front has lots of grass and nice open space for older kids to run around and play or adults to sit out on a picnic blanket n beach chairs ( supplied ) and have a drink in the sun.

It is a pleasant little cute n cosy living space for a nice little holiday or fun weekend getaway in its original style of a beach shack .
Great for couples, friends, or a small family and especially if you enjoy taking your pet with you on hols.
Re young CHILDREN, it is not adventurous toddler safe, so feel free to move things from little hands ( please pop back on departure) no child safety locks on items or cupboards.

AND I DONT have extra charges for linen , cleaning , extra guests , late check out, or for pets.

CLEANING RULES , please confirm this on booking.
I DO NOT charge a cleaning fee so all i request is that you leave as CLEAN, neat and tidy as it was when you arrived, especially if bringing a pet that all pet hair removed/ vacumed from floor and furniture . Please clean excess oil/fats from BBQ if used .

Airbnb's own rules are that property not left in a state of needing a deep or excessive clean and treat as you would your own home.

PET RULES, please confirm this on booking and what sort of pet and a little info about him/her.
I am happy to have pets , but sorry NOT BARKING DOGS if left alone, as neighbours will complain !!! most know if their dog barks if left alone or at night ...so out of respect for others close by this is not allowed.
PLEASE bring your own LINEN... sheets, and doona cover and doonas if your pet sneaks up on beds ?? ( fold and leave mine in cupboard ) Pet hair on my Linen is not allowed , if noticed a dry clean fee will be charged of $40 per bed and pet fee of $120

Pets are of course allowed inside but Please do not allow pets up on furniture to sleep or use my throws or beds for sleeping in and the property must PLEASE be extra cleaned and all pet hair removed from floors, furniture,all furniture tops, rugs , cushions etc..( i do have a vacuum in the cupboard )
Garden cleaned from droppings, and if holes dug, PLEASE fix!!
Many guests don't have pets, and i like to allow all types of families to stay.
The backyard is all closed in with high fences and side entrance, which has a gate ( 1 .5 mtr high)


I do hope I have given as much detail as I can and as accurate as I can about my little holiday house, so hopefully you have read all my info so you do feel comfortable when you arrive .
Arrival time 2pm and check out time 11 am AND as small gesture i always try to offer or do my best to offer a complimentary early check in and late check so you can make most of your stay .

A little about us
We are from inner city Melbourne. We bought this property years ago as a getaway, we couldn't afford much or a beautiful modern place, and we thought this was SO cute and unusual. BEST location and just perfect for us to relax and not worry that it was not perfect by looks and bonus was it be great for pets to stay to.
We love the beach , my son loves to surf , our dog loves to swim !!

Unit all to yourself, self-contained, private closed in back yard with BBQ, private car parking on side of property with plenty of street parking as well. It's a semi free standing unit , with 5 others on the block of land. Please be considerate with noise and others nearby .The whole block is child friendly with a lovely large open front garden area and closed in backyard

Damage
Guests will be liable for any breakages or damage caused to property or furniture during stay. A video / condition report of property is taken prior to each booking .

All costs n repairs are payable on request including Linen or towels stained damaged or lost, along with pet damage/scratches or pet hair from sleeping on doonas or in beds/furniture.
In the event that the property not left neat, clean and tidy including BBQ and in same way as it was on arrival, then the guest will be liable for the cost of excess cleaning at a rate of $60 per hour on request . Or you can opt to pay a clean fee at booking and i will edit price to reflect days stayed.

All house rules and pet rules are to be followed, especially removing all pet hair or fees will apply per rules not followed.

Flyscreens are on all windows and doors. We therefore will not refund for creatures of mother nature as its part of our normal Australian environment.
We do not refund for acts of mother nature , cyber attacks or other issues that are out of our control and not caused deliberately.

Property is child friendly but not adventurous toddler safe .We do not have safety locks on all cupboards or amenities. Your welcome to move things from little hands.

This large 2 bedroom cottage sleeps 8 with a maximum of 5 adults it has absolutely everything you need. Heating and cooling, massive living, kitchen & dining, parking and located just metres from the shops and cafes, and a few minutes walk the beach. Two bedrooms, bathroom, seperate toilet & laundry room, there is room for everyone. A lovingly maintained beach house with top quality furniture & bedding.

You share the large back yard with two other cottages. This property has a NO PARTY policy and no outdoor noise after 10pm.

Each cottage has 2 bedrooms, 2 car spaces and is fully self-contained, complete with BBQ and outdoor entertaining area. The space
Enjoy a relaxing stay at Bells Beach Cottages, on a beautiful 5-acre property, at Bells Beach, along the Great Ocean Road ~ just over 1 hour drive from Melbourne. Surround yourself with native bushland, fresh country air, and choose to either relax on the property or explore the Great Ocean Road and all it has to offer. You can hear the waves at "Bells" from your bed.

Family Friendly space
Perfect for families with up to 3 children. The second bedroom has 2 single beds, and we can also set up a sofa-bed (available in 1 cottage), blow up mattress or porta-cot on request.
We have upgraded to satellite internet and provide free Wi-fi throughout the property with Netflix included on our smart TVs, so you can keep the kids entertained while you relax in-between activities. There’s also over an acre of lawn to play outside if you bring a football or cricket set, or just relax for a family picnic.

Long summer stays
Each cottage is fully self-contained with all the essentials for a long summer stay full of trips to the beach. Each cottage has a washing machine, detergent and outdoor clothesline and portable clothes airer, and plenty of space outside to stash your bike or surfboard.

Cosy winter getaways
Nothing is cosier than a wood fireplace. Each cottage has an indoor fireplace with all firewood, kindling and firelighters provided. The split system air-conditioning can also run reverse cycle to heat up the cottage, and plenty of extra blankets are provided. There’s even tea, coffee (Nespresso machine) and hot chocolate and a little milk to warm you up with a hot cuppa.

Guest access
You will have access to your own cottage with its own outdoor entertaining and BBQ area. There are 2 car spaces next to each cottage, with additional shared car spaces on the gravel near the front of the property.

We offer convenient self-check-in and one key is provided, but let us know if you would like a second key. The entire cottage is at ground level, and there is one step at the entry to the cottage.

Guests have full access to the large lawn area in front of the dam, which is perfect for picnics, yoga, ball games, or just relaxing with a book.

For the safety of other guests, we ask that vehicles don’t park or drive across the grass, and that driving is kept to a walking pace.

We're pet friendly!
Bring your furry friend for just $30 per stay, with a maximum of 2 pets per cottage. We just ask that pets are not left unsupervised and that they don’t enter the bedrooms or go on the couches.
There is no fence around the dam or the cottages themselves, and we have a farming style fence around the property, which won't keep pets in. So if your pet tends to roam, there are plenty of trees around each cottage that you could tie up your dog while outside if that suits.

Local activities
You can go hiking or mountain biking along the naturally beautiful Surf Coast Walk, which passes only a kilometre from your cottage. Try surfing or watching the action at the world famous surf breaks, like Bells Beach and Winkipop. Or if you prefer to indulge, there are plenty of gastronomic delights at local restaurants. You could stay a little longer and go day-tripping the trail of local artisan producers of wine, cheese, beer, spirits and of course, chocolate!

Whitehawks Cottage is a beautifully crafted space surrounded by Otway forest. Situated 8km from Apollo Bay township on the Great Ocean Road. Overlooking the Otway National Park, this stylish comfort laden getaway is perfect for 2 people wanting to escape and relax amongst nature. There is plenty to do and see exploring the many attractions the Great Ocean Road has to offer.... Or don't go anywhere, cosy up by the wood fire, stargaze on the deck at night and breath in the fresh air.

The space
Whitehawks is a modern newly constructed one bedroom cottage. This beautifully laid out space offers open plan living, lounge and dining with wood burning fire place. Smart TV with streaming platforms. The large bedroom boasts a super comfy king size Sleeping Duck Mach II bed, there is a separate bathroom with shower and heated towel rails. All linen and towels are supplied. The galley kitchen has everything you'll need to cook up a storm, Induction stove top, Neff oven, Bosch dishwasher, Delonghi coffee machine. Extra fast satellite star link Wifi. Private deck with BBQ and outdoor bath, so you can soak up some nature while soaking yourself overlooking the Otway forest.
Please also note the water supply is tank water which is perfectly safe to drink (actually tastes better than town water!).
The hosts residence is situated on the hill behind the cottage. Far enough away from the cottage to ensure privacy. There is only need for interaction with guests if assistance is required with exploring the property or any problems should arise.
Mobile reception is very poor so turning wifi call on is recommended
The large front windows of the cottage do not have blinds so the view is constant!

Guest access
The cottage is surrounded by stunning Otway forest with your own private walk down to the Elliot river. The walk down to the river is quite steep in some sections but well worth the effort. The lush ferny rainforest at the bottom is like another world so you wont mind huffing and puffing back up the hill for that well deserved drink!
There is 21 acres to explore with an abundance of bird and wildlife.

Other things to note
Guests are welcome to bring well behaved pets. There is fencing but not potentially escape proof. Please note in the warmer months the presence of snakes is something to be aware of.
